Lethal Company: 8 Tips For Dealing With Ghost Girl
Somehow a small child is the scariest thing on those frightful moons.
- Ghost Girl is an eerie and dangerous creature in Lethal Company who cannot be killed, so avoiding her is crucial for survival.
- There are several signs that indicate when Ghost Girl is nearby, such as flickering lights, distorted hearing, and creepy voices.
- Factors like paranoia levels, insanity levels, scrap value, and injury determine whether a player becomes the target of Ghost Girl's haunt. Staying close to others and being cautious about carrying valuable scrap can help avoid her.
Lethal Company has plenty of frightening enemies for you to run away from both inside and outside the main buildings. If you’ve been unfortunate enough to meet them all, you’ll know how dangerous they can be. One creature is known as Ghost Girl, who haunts you from a distance and is generally just really creepy.
Lethal Company: 7 Beginner Tips
There aren’t many ways to fight against Ghost Girl, but there are ways for you to avoid her and stay alive. She has certain conditions for both spawning and chasing, so knowing those can become a lifesaver. If you want to keep heading in, haunted or not, here are a few things to keep in mind when dealing with her.
1 Who Is Ghost Girl?
Ghost Girl is a little girl who appears in a red and white polka-dotted dress. Naturally, in the industrial-like setting, that’s terrifying. Your first instinct is to stay away from her, which is an instinct you should listen to. She haunts Company employees. And if she touches them, they die.
There’s not much known about Ghost Girl’s story or why she appears other than to terrify innocent scrap collectors. Her movement and mechanics seem to mimic hide-and-seek, since she appears and disappears randomly around you. Ghost Girl is unique compared to the other monsters as she can’t be killed, making her incredibly powerful and someone to avoid.
2 How To Tell If You're Being Haunted
Aside from directly seeing her, there are a few ways to tell whether you’re the unfortunate target of Ghost Girl. You’ll want to keep track of the audio and visual cues that will tell you when she’s nearby:
- Lights will start flickering in the room.
- If you’re on the ship, the terminal will flicker.
- Heavy breathing or giggling can be heard.
- You may hear a voice saying things like “hello” or “hi.”
- Your hearing becomes muffled or distorted.
Any one of these signs means Ghost Girl is nearby, so be careful where you look in case you provoke her into attacking.
3 How Ghost Girl Picks A Target
Several factors come into play when Ghost Girl chooses to haunt. Players have paranoia and insanity levels that contribute. The most paranoid player is whoever turns their mouse the most. Insanity takes a few more things into consideration, like whether you’re outside or inside or what time of day it is.
Lethal Company: How To Move Furniture
Ghost Girl also considers the amount of scrap you’re carrying and its value or how injured you are. All of these will increase the likelihood of becoming the next victim of Ghost Girl’s haunt. Hitting your friends with the stop sign doesn’t seem so funny now, does it?
Editor's Note: Yes, it's still very funny.
4 She can travel inside and outside the building.
Many of the monsters in Lethal Company can be avoided by running in or out of the main entrance or the fire exit. Whether you’re being chased by Eyeless Dogs or see The Bracken heading your way, those doors will always act as a barrier.
Ghost Girl, on the other hand, ignores that rule and follows you everywhere. She could spawn behind you if you’re deep in the building or keeping an eye on the surrounding areas back on the ship.
5 Stay with someone when you're being haunted.
A good rule for playing Lethal Company is that being in groups can be a huge help when exploring confusing maps. Sticking with your friends can make it easier to find an exit or keep an eye out for lurking monsters or valuable scrap.
If you’re being hunted, staying close to someone can make it easier to handle. They can look out for other monsters while you focus on the present danger. When the seemingly inevitable happens, they can grab you and your stuff and head back to the ship if she hasn’t started haunting them, too, that is.
6 Be careful of what scrap you're carrying.
If you’re being hunted, there’s a high chance you’ll lose whatever valuables you carry. If you’re near an exit or back on the ship, dropping everything for your friends to pick up is a good idea. If you’ve ventured further into a building, you should make your way to an exit or let others carry as much as possible.
11 Games To Play If You Like Lethal Company
It’s important to try and get as much scrap as possible, especially in later days when quotas are higher and you need to sell everything . You don’t want to lose valuable scrap far inside the building and be the cause of your and your friends’ demise.
7 Stay on the ship.
It’s easy not to worry about all that valuable scrap when you don’t have any. If you know you’re being haunted early on, heading back to the ship is a good way to keep all your items safe while taking on the role of guiding your friends back home.
While Ghost Girl can still track you inside the ship, you’ll at least be easy to find for your returning friends. It is, however, difficult to run away from Ghost Girl inside the ship because of the small amount of room and potential dangers outside.
8 If she starts skipping towards you, run away.
Unfortunately, there’s no use for the shovel, stop sign, or other purchased items when Ghost Girl starts running towards you. If she does start heading your way, the best thing to do is go in the opposite direction as fast as possible. She’ll chase you for a while and then reset back to following you at an unsettling distance.
You can keep an eye, or ear, out for any signs that might tell you she’s nearby. Just be careful that you don’t run into any other creatures when you’re running away.
Lethal Company: 9 Best Mods
The Ghost Girl is a rare enemy you may encounter in Lethal Company. She's known to single out a player, haunt them, and toy with them until they're dead or they've escaped. Here's how to identify, counter, and survive the Ghost Girl in Lethal Company.
How the Ghost Girl Chooses Her Target
How to kill the ghost girl, ghost girl spawn rates, ghost girl information.
The Ghost Girl is an extremely dangerous entity found on some of the harder difficulty moons. She is one of the only enemies in the game that can dwell both indoors and outdoors and will always single out one player based on a number of different factors, and haunt them until she's killed them or they've escaped.
How to Avoid and Counter the Ghost Girl
Avoiding and countering the Ghost Girl is a little different than other enemies since only one player will ever see her at a time. However, even though other players can't see her, she will still appear on cameras, so you can get a feel for who may be haunted through proper communication and possibly even help out.
When you're targeted, it's easier to think of it as a game of hide and seek where you're the seeker. When she spawns, you'll be able to hear some heavy breathing. The best thing you can do at this point is to NOT look for her.
There are a few signs to look out for to know whether or not the Ghost Girl has chosen a player to haunt. The following are the signs to look for:
- Flickering lights
- Giggling or heavy breathing not from a player
- Your hearing becoming muffled
- Quiet vocalizations from an unknown source
- Chimes of a grandfather clock
Hearing these means the Ghost Girl has begun her game of hide and seek, she be careful while you're exploring the facility following this.
The Ghost Girl has three distinct states that she's in: Hide, Stare, and Chase.
When in her hiding mode, like above, she'll have picked a player and you'll want to try and not find her if at all possible. If you do find her, she'll enter her Stare state, where she'll stare at the haunted player for a period of time before skipping towards you. You can safely approach the Ghost Girl a minimum of two times in order to despawn her but any other time you find her may trigger her chase, so from the third time on don't try and approach her to despawn her otherwise she may trigger the chase and kill the player.
When she enters her Chase state, this is when the player needs to drop everything they're doing and holding and run for their life.
Running to the ship is typically the safest thing to do, but you should be advised she can still pursue you onto the ship and kill you as well.
As stated above, the Ghost Girl looks into certain factors to choose her target for haunting. The player with the highest "score" during the theoretical round will be selected. The score can be determined by several factors:
- Most paranoid player (the player who looks around the most) gets 30 points.
- Player holding more than 150 value worth of scrap gets 30 points.
- Player who has been critically injured gets 10 points.
- Seeing dead bodies or enemies will increase insanity.
- Being inside the facility will increase insanity at a quick rate.
- Being inside the ship will increase insanity at a slow rate.
- Being outdoors after sundown will increase insanity at a medium rate.
- Being outdoors before sundown will increase insanity at a slow rate.
- Being around other players or hearing voices on a walkie-talkie will decrease insanity at a significant rate.
Keep this in mind while exploring. Always try to explore in groups to avoid getting haunted!
The Ghost Girl is one of the few enemies in Lethal Company that can't be killed by any means. This entity is completely intangible and immune to all forms of damage. Evasion is your highest chance to survive an encounter.

Lethal Company: How To Spot & Deal With The Ghost Girl
Learn how to spot the Ghost Girl's presence and how to deal with one if you or your teammate ever encounter it.
In Lethal Company, the Ghost Girl, also known as DressGirlAI, stands out as the rarest and most formidable monster , making encounters with her more challenging. You could face the Lethal Company Ghost Girl at any place and time, but these encounters are rather rare and are most likely fatal.
- Ghost Girl is the rarest and most dangerous monster to face in Lethal Company.
- She tends to attack those who spend a lot of alone time in the dark.
- The presence of the Ghost Girl can be spotted by flickering lights and eerie giggles .
- Only one teammate can see the Ghost Girl at a time as she moves on to the next teammate after killing one.
Who Is Ghost Girl
She is easily the worst monster you can encounter in Lethal Company. She drops signs of her following you, and soon, you can expect to encounter her as a ghost girl in a red dress . Unlike other monsters in Lethal Company, there’s no fixed spawn point for the Ghost Girl. She finds you randomly, adding an unpredictable element to the game.
Selective Visibility: What sets Ghost Girl apart is her selective visibility . Only one player can see her at a time. If you find yourself facing her, your teammates might remain unaware of her presence as they can’t even see her.
How To Spot Ghost Girl’s Presence
The presence of the Ghost Girl can be spotted by flickering lights and eerie giggles.
The Ghost Girl’s appearances are extremely rare, but some indicators can signal your impending encounter with the red-dressed nightmare. If you see flickering lights , giggling , and muffled sounds , run from that place, as the Ghost Girl will spawn shortly after that.
How To Avoid Encountering The Ghost Girl
Prolonged isolation in the dark increases your Insanity Level . It is believed that the Ghost Girl tends to attack those with higher insanity levels. To minimize this risk, stick to groups and maintain constant communication with teammates using the Walkie-Talkie to keep your insanity level in check.
While it remains uncertain whether she only attacks players with higher insanity levels, t eamwork, and communication are your best shots at avoiding facing the Ghost Girl’s relentless haunt in Lethal Company.
How To Deal With The Ghost Girl
The only way to deal with the Ghost Girl is to run. You can not defeat her, so escaping the moon is the only option.
Of all the monsters in Lethal Company, the Ghost Girl ranks among the deadliest. She flickers and teleports around the targeted player before randomly delivering a fatal blow. Defeating her is out of the question, so survival hinges on a quick escape .
- Sprint to Safety: Move quickly towards the ship to evade her relentless pursuit.
- Team Rally: Gather your teammates to enhance your chance of survival.
- Escape the Moon: As the Ghost Girl can teleport onto your ship, fleeing to another moon is the only option.
Should a crew member fall victim to her, the Ghost Girl will redirect her focus to another player . Escaping her clutches is near impossible, and conventional weapons like the Zap Gun prove futile against this formidable foe.
The Ghost Girl is easily the most dangerous monster in Lethal Company. You just can not defeat her , and the worst part is that your teammates can’t even help you. So, if you are unlucky enough to be on the Ghost Girl’s list, your best chance of survival is to run for your life and escape that moon.

How to Survive & Beat Ghost Girl in Lethal Company
Posted: December 25, 2023 | Last updated: December 26, 2023
Who is the ghost girl, how to survive the ghost girl.
Introduced in October 2023, Lethal Company is a Co-op Survival Horror game featuring a post-apocalyptic world filled with deadly enemies ready to kill anyone. The game allows players to play with their friends and offers a great storyline. Players must survive by fulfilling their quotas of collecting scrap from different moons.
Players will fight many monsters along the way in Lethal Company and most of them will be extremely hard to kill or evade. One such deadly foe is the Ghost Girl. She is an extremely powerful enemy, hell-bent on sending players to hell. Here is how players can survive their untimely demise.
All Masks in Lethal Company
Ghost Girl is a terrifying enemy in the game that can be encountered on Moons with higher difficulty levels . She relentlessly chases a single team player, maintaining an unwavering presence until she kills or, on rare occasions, if players somehow manage to evade her.
Here's how players can survive the Ghost Girl:
Follow The Signs
The best way to survive the Ghost Girl is by knowing when she is about to attack. There will be different signs whenever she's about to attack a player. Here are some of the signs players must look out for.
- Flickering of Lights
- Someone giggling
- Muffled Hearing
- Someone Vocalizing out of nowhere
- A clock chiming
Encountering The Ghost Girl
When a player is targeted by Ghost Girl, they are the sole individual who can spot her, while the other teammates are only aware of her presence. In this situation, the best idea would be to RUN.
State of The Ghost Girl
When the Ghost Girl is in hiding or staring mode, it's advisable for players not to actively seek her out. This cautious approach is the best strategy in such situations. If players do come across her, she'll enter her staring mode. It's possible to approach her twice to make her vanish. However, engaging with her a third time would be a suicide.
Killing The Ghost Girl
In Lethal Company , the Ghost Girl can't be killed. She is immune to whatever players throw at her , so the only way to survive her is to evade every time players sense her presence.

How to beat the Ghost Girl in Lethal Company
Of all the terrifying monsters that you will face in Lethal Company, the Ghost Girl is going to be the hardest to escape.
DressGirlAI, also known as the Ghost Girl, is a rare creature in Lethal Company, which makes her one of the most dangerous as well. She will appear in front of you in a red dress with a dotted pattern, and also kill you randomly. In this guide, we will tell you everything you need to know about the Ghost Girl of Lethal Company.
How to find the Ghost Girl in Lethal Company
There is no specific location to find any monster in Lethal Company, and the same is in the case of Ghost Girl. The Ghost Girl spawns randomly in any location, but she is a bit different than other monsters. She will only be visible to one player at a time , which means if you are seeing her, your teammates probably won’t. She targets a player at a time, so if you ever become her first target, your bad luck is to be blamed for it.
The Ghost Girl is one of the most rarest entities in Lethal Company. So you will probably not meet her very often. However, there are some hints that you are her next target : the lights will start flickering, you will hear breathing and giggling, and your hearing will get muffled. You must plan your next steps as soon as you notice these symptoms, as the Ghost Girl will appear shortly after you notice these.

How to deal with the Ghost Girl in Lethal Company
Among all the deadly monsters in Lethal Company, Ghost Girl is one of the deadliest as she will give you no chance to escape if you ever face her. She doesn’t instantly start attacking. After appearing in front of a person, she will keep flickering and teleporting to different locations around the targetted player and will kill that player randomly.
The Ghost Girl cannot be defeated in any way. So, if you ever see her, you must make a run for your life toward the ship . If you ever get targeted by her, you will not be left alone unless you leave the moon. She can even teleport outside the facilities, or even get inside your ship. So, it’s better to call your teammates to the ship as soon as possible and take off for another moon.
If someone gets killed by the Ghost Girl, she will then target another player of the crew . There is literally no way to escape the wrath of this spooky ghost except to leave the moon. Even if you try to use the teleporter, it probably will not help you to escape. Needless to say, the Zap Gun and other weapons are also completely useless against this mighty foe.
However, it is still not clear to me whether the Ghost Girl targets someone randomly or not. But it seems like if you stay alone in the dark for too long, you are more prone to getting targeted. Staying alone increases your Insanity Level gradually, making you an easy target for the monster. To reduce your insanity level, make sure to stay in groups and keep communicating with your teammates with a Walkie-Talkie.

Ghost Girl is an entity in Lethal Company . She will haunt one player at a time being visible only to them, first appearing at a distance before approaching and killing them. The first time you see her, she'll probably be panting, like she's angry. It looks like she has a 2d shape if you see her at a medium distance (why is her forehead so long wtf i would never die to this long forehead mf )

Bestiary [ ]
Occurrence [ ], behavior [ ].
Most of the information has been data-mined from the girl's AI code under DressGirlAI
A simplified logic of the way she behaves is somewhat like a game of Hide and Seek and not a game of Tag. You are the seeker , not the hider. If you ever found(look at/approach) her, there is a chance she will start chasing you. She has 3 distinct behaviors, "hide", "stare", and "chase".
Staring/Spawning Trigger [ ]
She will always spawn out of your screen. Her spawn position will always have enough distance and a clear line of sight between you and her. Meaning, if you're on the ship and there's a shelf, a terminal, or even a shower (excluding the bunk bed) blocking the line of sight between you and the entrance, she will never spawn as the outside of the ship is the only sufficient space, she can spawn at.
An assumption as to why players think the shower myth exists: enemies consider the shower glass as a wall that they can't see through. Since the girl won't spawn if you place the shower correctly (shower is not facing towards the ship entrance) and staying inside, the myth where taking a shower changes her target was created.
To handle her, see the strategy entry ' If you are haunted '.
Chase Triggers [ ]
There is a technical additional sub behavior between "stare" and "chase", we can call it as "chance". "Chance" is a state where she will attempt to start chasing you. She has 2 important variables in determining how she will enter chance mode, "Times she's stared at you", and "Times you've spotted her" both increases 1 time only per appearance/stare.
There are 2 ways for her to engage in chasing you:
- "Times you've spotted her" >= 3-5 OR "Times she's stared at you" minus "Times you've spotted her" > 2.
- If any of those are true, there is an 85% chance she will start chasing you.
- "Times you've spotted her" >= 2.
- If that is true, there is a 65% chance she will start chasing you.
All of this applies to current and future appearances during her haunt of you (Resets per target or round).
For a simplified guide to the formula, see ' Chase Avoidance '.
Strategy [ ]
There are distinct signs indicating that the ghost girl has set her sights on someone:
- Lights or terminal flickering
- Giggling or heavy breathing
- Hearing becoming muffled or difficult to perceive
- Hearing the faint chime(s) of a grandfather clock
She does not immediately go in for the kill; instead, she indulges in a period of haunting and toying with her victim, singling out one player to haunt. When she starts skipping towards you this signals the beginning of her hunting phase, where contact with her will result in instant death. While not exceptionally fast, evading her is critical. If burdened with excess loot, consider dropping it to enhance your chances of survival. Contrary to the common myth, the shower does not cause the Ghost Girl to change her target.
Unlike the Jester popping, the Ghost Girl haunting a player does not necessarily mean the end of a run. However, this comes at the cost of that player having to divert their attention from the compound. She can haunt players in all areas of the map, including the ship, and may appear on a ship's monitor cameras, dancing.
Handling her different behaviors [ ]
Below is an extension to her data mined Behavior entry which gives more information on how to handle her. The information provided may be confusing if the behavior entry was not read.
If you are haunted [ ]
- An alternative is always stare at the ship entrance to prevent her from spawning, as she can't spawn behind you because there's not enough space in the ship.
- Another alternative is to never look at the ship entrance, even if you face your back towards the ship entrance, she will spawn but as long as you don't look at her, she will never chase you.
- If you want her to stop spawning while in the factory, hug a corner or even a wall and look at the room. As she will only be able to spawn behind you.
See next topic for when you hear giggling or breathing, or distorted noises to find out more about what to do.
Chase Avoidance [ ]
This section provides information on how to completely avoid her from chasing you.
If you hear her spawn, indicated by giggling or breathing noises:
- There may be a small margin off screen that counts as line of sight.
- A single glance is an immediate failure.
- You can keep moving forward, left or right, but never turn around.
- There's a wall between the both of you.
- She has despawned, which is indicated by her no longer breathing.
- If you don't hear anything behind you, it's not necessarily safe to turn around , if the hall behind you is long, there is a chance she'll spawn far enough for you to not hear her noise.
- If you look at her a second time and you are close to her, she will enter "chance" state as well, as mentioned in the second formula, but she's safe to approach the very first time.
- Do not go near her (distance of 5 unity units).
- Do not go backwards towards her, being in contact is counted as spotting her.
In any moment you fail to follow any of these, she might enter "chance" mode where she might chase you or just disappear. A clear indicator of failing the round of hide and seek is when you hear your audio distorted.
Following this advice will change the girl from a highly dangerous entity, greater than a Jester , into a very minor inconvenience, such as a Hoarding Bug .
In the event of being chased [ ]
You can end it by:
- You can easily do this by entering or exiting the factory or being teleported by a teammate.
- Sources state that she won't be able to reach her target when standing on top of the ship's cabinet.
She may randomly teleport to different places to catch you off guard.
Targeting [ ]
The player that the Ghost Girl targets is determined by a points system based off of several factors (per round basis):
- The most paranoid player (the player who turns their camera the most) receives 30 points.
- If a player has been critically injured, they receive 10 points.
- If a player is holding items worth more than 150 scrap value, they receive 30 points.
- The " most insane " player receives an additional 50 points.
- Approaching the Ghost Girl while being haunted may cause her to temporarily disappear, but it is not advisable.
- Though only haunted players can directly see the Ghost Girl, an image of her will show up on the ship's CCTV.
- The Ghost Girl is currently (build 40) the rarest entity in the game.
- The Ghost Girl is immune to Zap and all damage.
- She can appear and kill haunted players anywhere, including inside the ship.
- It's possible the Ghost Girl is based on Alma Wade from the F.E.A.R. Series.
- The Ghost Girl was the only entity that could exit buildings before version 45 introduced the Masked .
- Quiet girlish vocalizations (such as a gentle “Hi” or "Hey") with no apparent source don't actually indicate being haunted, these are random sounds that just play as ambience.
