Best sights in Escape from Tarkov for Assault Rifles, Snipers & more
21st Dec 2023 16:20
Changing from one sight to another in Escape from Tarkov can completely shift how you play, but the best sights often encompass many different styles and let you gain precision in your aim.
While avoiding it is very much a valid strategy, combat is undoubtedly at the heart of the game - and having the best sight equipped and ready will allow you to hit your shots and stay alive long enough to escape. Pairing these options with the best ammo and meta weapons will almost guarantee success - so definitely try it out if you're on the hunt for some PMC kills.
What are the best sights in Escape from Tarkov?
- EOTech XPS3-0 Holographic Sight
- OKP-7 Reflex Sight (Dovetail)
- Leupold DeltaPoint Reflex Sight
- ELCAN SpecterDR 1x/4x Scope
- SwampFox Trihawk Prism Scope 3x30
- Burris FullField TAC30 1-4x24 30mm Riflescope
- EOTech Vudu 1-6x24 30mm Riflescope
- Vortex Razor HD Gen.2 1-6x24 30mm riflescope
- Trijicon REAP-IR thermal scope
While there's an abundance of weapon sights to choose from, our picks above are the best of the bunch - offering your clear vision in a number of different scenarios to help you secure more kills.
Collimators & Compact Collimators
I typically bounce between three options when it comes to Collimators - which are your low magnification reflex-style optics - depending on which weapon I am running.
Despite being my least used of the three, the OKP-7 Reflex is an ideal choice for when I want a full-sight picture - or just want to save a little bit of money. It comes in super cheap at only 19,520₽, and as a dovetail sight, it's typically only used within cheaper weapon builds too.
The next step up is definitely the EOTech XPS3-0 which, much like its near identical sibling XPS3-2, is a holographic sight that many players will be innately familiar with. It is a bit chunky which blocks off a bit more of the screen than I'd like, but there are few 1x sights that I feel more comfortable going fully-auto with than the EOTech.
Last but certainly not least is the DeltaPoint , which provides a near-perfect reflex that is small yet precise in nature for any close-quarters battles. It is undeniably clean to use and takes up so little space on the screen that you never feel like it gets in the way. There's a reason why this is used on most meta builds - so definitely consider picking it up if you haven't already joined the DeltaPoint club.
Assault Scopes do find themselves in the awkward place between Reflex Sights and full-blown Optics, but two do still emerge as excellent picks for me. Ideally, you'll want to keep your battles to the mid-range, but combining them with some point firing helps you cover the gaps.
The first pick is the ELCAN , which is definitely not as popular as it used to be but remains still a strong choice. My favourite part of this sight is the clear red dot reticule in the middle and the flexibility that the two (and a half) magnification levels give you. It is a great all-rounder for most scenarios, but it does struggle a little when the chaos starts.
Alternatively, the SwampFox Trihawk is a fantastic 3.5x zoom ACOG-esque sight that is perfect for single-fire DMRs on mid-range maps like Customs . Slapping this on an M14 or RFB is so much fun, and the lack of flexibility from the fixed magnification can actually be a blessing sometimes, as it lets you worry about one less thing and get to shooting.
The meta for scopes in Tarkov undoubtedly lies within the Optics category, as our three picks are incredibly in pretty much any situation you'll face.
The TAC30 is by far the worst of our three picks, but its availability and price make it more than worth using in the mid-wipe period. Sitting at around 115,789₽ on the flea market , this sight gives you 1x and 4x zoom options, letting you function effectively anywhere between 1-250 metres. Some might not like the large red circular reticle, and it really struggles with loss of sight picture when leaning or moving - but it has far too much in its favour for those to really matter in the long run when used correctly.
The first of the two main meta-sights in EFT is the EOTech Vudu , which gives you clear 1x and 6x magnification levels to really show off your aim. This sight is perfect on pretty much every single Assault Rifle, DMR, and Sniper, giving you everything you need to succeed in your raids. The biggest strength of this and our next pick is the lack of camera recoil when firing full auto, which can't be said for just about any other optic with this level of precision.
Pairing with the Vudu at the top is the Vortex Razor , which offers near identical performance at around the same price too. Once again you have 1x and 6x zoom and can spray confidently and accurately with very little visible recoil. I personally prefer the cleaner black lines of the Razor to the Vudu - especially at max zoom - but it is very much a case of personal preference.
It feels a bit like cheating to include Thermal sights alongside their standard counterparts, but the Trijicon REAP-IR is by far one of the strongest sights you can use in Escape from Tarkov even considering the extortionate price.
It is one of the flea market-banned items , and thus you can't access it until you've completed Gunsmith 22 and reached Mechanic LL4, but dropping roughly 650,000₽ on this barter will most definitely give you an advantage in-raid.
Using this sight lights up any enemy you encounter with a white-hot blaze against a black background, letting you spot even the most concealed of targets and take them out from a safe distance. Besides the cost, the main downside of this sight is the 35Hz refresh rate cap, which can make hitting moving targets quite difficult. This is made even worse if you're not using the best settings and your framerate is already struggling, so from the outset, this sight might not be for you.
Best overall sight & optic in Escape from Tarkov
Our pick for the best overall sight you can use in Escape from Tarkov is the Vortex Razor HD Gen.2 1-6x24 30mm riflescope paired with the Leupold DeltaPoint Reflex Sight on top . This can be achieved by using the JP Enterprises Flat-Top 30mm ring scope mount and attaching the DeltaPoint to the rail above the front ring.
This combination has you covered on literally all fronts, giving you the precision and accuracy across medium to long range with the Razor, and then the fallback of the DeltaPoint in super close quarters where the main optic might struggle.
This will cost you a fair amount overall, but if you want the best setup and build for your raids then you're going to have to cough up the cash to fund it.

Best Sniper Rifle Builds In Escape from Tarkov
Escape from Tarkov, home of the free and land of the dead, all due to everlasting patience and sharpshooting capabilities of snipers. Escape from Tarkov provides a vast and open sniping experience , arguably the most realistic and enjoyable sniping simulation available on the gaming market, having players use almost exact recreations of rifles used around the world today in active warfare. Although weapons in Escape from Tarkov come in all shapes and sizes , sniper rifles are not exempt from the modding system behind most excellent weapons in the game.
Players are truly tested when trying to modify a sniper rifle, often not understanding the mechanics and attachments of their weapon, then falling victim on the battlefields. Most players don't specifically use bolt-action sniper rifles within Escape from Tarkov due to their incompetence, instead, modifying M4s or DMR s such as the M1A to meet their sniping requirements, however, nothing can beat the raw power of a rifle such as the Mosin or DVL.
Before continuing with this guide, please ensure you have the following:
- Level fifteen of above - access to Flea market
- Obtain Workbench level one in the hideout - access to the weapon modification screen
- 250K Roubes (spare) - to pay for at least one of the Sniper builds below
Where these requirements aren't necessary, it will make your life incredibly easier. Players who don't obtain the flea market will have to find these attachments in-raid; the workbench will have less visual aid when building the weapon, and these builds will cost around 250k roubles per.
NOTE: THIS GUIDE IS FOR SNIPER RIFLES NOT DMRs
Table of Contents
Escape from tarkov best sniper rifles: orsis t-5000m, escape from tarkov best sniper rifles: dvl-10, escape from tarkov best sniper rifles: mosin.
The ORSIS T-5000M is known by all, and used by few. This sniper rifle packs raw power into every round it releases, allowing players to cope with distances up to 900m without trouble, helping with long-range situations on maps such as Reserve , Shoreline , Lighthouse , and Woods , being the go-to rifle when trying to eliminate the Lighthouse Scav boss and access the Lightkeeper .
Here are the following attachments required for the rifle:
These attachments will provide smooth sailing within the sniping world of Escape from Tarkov, allowing you to coast effortlessly from bush to bush taking heads upon heads. Although appearing obvious to some players, the silencer isn't just for stealth, the Hybrid 46 allows for increased precision and barrel length , sending the bullet into the battlefield with more precision, raising your chances of hitting the enemy and therefore killing them.
Additionally, the TAC30 1-4x24 30mm riflescope has been selected for a very specific reason : adaptivity. Players will typically make huge mistakes with scopes, having them too magnified and not allowing for mid or even close-range engagements. Why would you embrace fighting when you're equipped with an 8x magnified scope, the chances of survival are minimal, however, you might have a higher chance of occasionally hitting that cross-map shot.
This is the most basic yet essential sniper rifle built within Escape from Tarkov, it comes cheap and reliable. To most, the AR-15 Tactical Dynamics Hexgrip Pistol Grip seems odd, however, this overall improves the ergonomics of the sniper rifle, improving the ability to remain scoped for longer periods. Additionally, the simple use of an EOTech Vudu 1-6x24 30mm rifle scope enables mid and closer-range engagements if needed.
Some players prefer the DVL-10 with the integrated suppressor, but the vanilla version of the weapon deems more viable due to the increase in muzzle velocity, the integrated suppressor only hinders the weapon instead of improving it. Using this rifle will alert players due to its loud and explosive firing, therefore it's recommended to reposition after every one-three rounds, ensuring you're never become identified and found by enemies.
The choice of not using a suppressor is difficult, however, in the DVL-10s case, it's better to go without. The rifle is simply too reliable and great of a weapon to pass from this guide, therefore earning it a spot and recommendation to players such as yourself. Learning how to operate without a suppressor is a vital skill, best start learning now as most players can't survive more than five minutes without a suppressor.
The Russian Mosin Nagant was reliable since its design in 1891 and responsible for many deaths within the Tarkov Region. Many may question "Why not the SV-98?" Well, because no other rifle has been performing accurately and oppressing modernity like the Mosin. This weapon is high caliber, accurate, cheap, lightweight, and accessible by all players regardless of their level, making it the most used and loved weapon on this list.
The rifle has an incredibly strange appearance after modifying it, especially when using the pistol grip to raise the ergonomics of the sniper rifle. The use of the ELCAN SpecterDR 1x/4x scope allows for a diverse experience, allowing players to operate this rifle on every Escape from Tarkov map, including Labs ! The only inconvenience players will experience is the need to buy so many different mounts to equip the scope, having to include two separate parts just put the attachment on the rifle, although once complete everything appears worth it.
This guide isn't ranked, each sniper rifle is unique and beneficial in its own way, although over my experience playing Escape from Tarkov through the last few years, I'd rank the builds and weapons from best (1) to worst (3) this way:
- Mosin - the most reliable and cheap weapon, the victor
- ORSIS T-5000M - Excellent at long-range combat, no need to relocate often
- DVL-10 - Expensive, takes out anything within crosshairs up to a kilometer.
These rifles are all incredibly high achievers within Escape from Tarkov, using them will guide you to a greater level of playing and keep you on top of your competition, especially with these builds!

GeffHannigan’s Optic Rework
Have You seen this?: https://www.reddit.com/r/Escap…_the_recent_optic_rework/
Teaser of what is included:
It was all tested for 63 FOV, don’t know what will happen when You alter it. I don’t take responsibility ;P
VERY SPECIAL THANKS to:
Put the "ACOG4life - Optic Rework" mod folder into user/mods as usual.
- changed database entries for all red dot sights (added 25m zeroing as a majority of these lack such setting, thus making them unusable for VSS, VAL and many other),
- changed database entries for sniper scopes – as zoom values are altered everywhere it was needed to change these entries to show changed values, f.e. March Tactical 3-24x scope where the 8x value was chosen, whereas in-game it shows 10x (which really was like 32x) + added more zeroing options for sniper scopes up to 650m,
- changed database entries for VSS and VAL ironsights – they are usable right now,
- changed database entries for allowing the use of red dots on top of Elcan Specters,
- altered versions of some receivers - tweaked mod_scope positions on AR-15 rifle family receivers and MCX Gen 1 receiver - in 12.11 BSG did something wrong there and had to rework it as well;

the eotech hhs-1 hybrid sight(black) is zero'd too low, you can see how low when you equip it with a laser device
shots at like 100m are a foot too high

For anyone having trouble getting it running with SPT 3.5.x, I've reuploaded the version I've been using that works for me: EFT SCOPE AND RED DOT SIGHT OVERHAUL BY GEFF HANNIGAN - Updated To 3.5.x
Jamoy1993 Jul 7th 2023
I think there may be a bug with this mod, im using 3.5.8. For some reason about 30 - 40 mins into a raid the Render Texture in the ELCAN scope sometimes goes black when you aim through it. If you aim again it will simply close the game and will result in no errors in the error logs.
I encountered this issue last night after a sick raid on the shoreline map... I noticed my scope went black so I swapped out to my secondary. I thought I would try and remove the scope from my gun so I could still use it. Then I would just extract it as I had done a few quests and was on my way out anyways.
I'm not sure if it affects any other scopes but it is pretty annoying. I have had several raids ruined because of this. I tried to do the thirst quest five times and had to redo it because of it.
Here is the list of mods I'm using:
AUG Attachment Pack
Platinum Tow Slot Extended Mags
Prey To Live Better Spawn Plus
SP Realism Ammo Stats
I did not encounter a single crash until i started using the ELCAN LPVO.
Jamoy1993 Jul 8th 2023
More on this, i removed the mod and i have so far done a couple of raids and not encountered this issue.

running out of video/ram memory make sure to enable ram cleaner and tap escape every once in a while, it clears ram and vram. no joke

TO MAKE IT WORK FOR ANY RELEASE - unless bsg changes something with how bundles/materials work idk. Move the items from bundles/assets/content/items/mods/scopes (receivers)
and replace them.
By replacing bundles you replace important FOV values in bundles (the core part of the mod).
Script part of this mod just adjusts Zeroing and references GameObjects inside the bundles.
TLDR Bundles change actual visuals, Script part adds QoL Zeroing. So if you replace just bundle files you will get the desired effect of this mod.
Traveler Jun 30th 2023
FYI it will break T12 thermal thingy, so maybe just leave that out
Bubblesareawesome Jun 22nd 2023
Please update to 3.5.7
skull8 Jun 20th 2023
Will this mod have 3.5.7 support? Is it too must-have thing to stop being un-updated
MOSSY Jun 20th 2023
Man we need some magic here to get it working in 3.5 and above, getting fatal server error ts.syringe if anyone else has found a fix.
SL4PSH0CK Mar 29th 2023
compatible with SamSwat's Reflex Rework?
RavenP Apr 3rd 2023
ShadowXtrex May 17th 2023
you can found a unnofficial compatibility patch in my repo 👀 (at least to 3.5.5)
Fluoguy May 22nd 2023
@ShadowXtrex can you link it?

Tempest May 31st 2023
i tried this and it isnt working. I can't figure out a way to get it to work on 3.5.5
anor Mar 26th 2023
Is this abandoned? The download link just provides the uncompiled source. No dlls.
Jehree May 23rd 2023
This isn't a client plugin, it's a server mod.
Shibby Mar 11th 2023
Thank you for the great mod. Any chance we can have it work for 3.5,x?
WGSFTaiho Feb 16th 2023
Riv3rStx Feb 17th 2023
It's working for me. Inside acog4life mod look for json file "package". Change aki version to "3.5.x". It should work.
deveagle Mar 6th 2023
Not working me. You only using this mod?
Jasonovich Mar 23rd 2023
Riv3rStx's fix worked perfectly for me

just move the items from bundles/assets/content/items/mods/scopes (receivers) to EscapeFromTarkov_Data\StreamingAssets\Windows\assets\content\items\mods\scopes and replace them.
you dont get calibration by replacing, use uniform aim instead
FightMeIRLScrub Feb 5th 2023
Just tested & my Vudu at 1x no longer looks like somebody turned all the lights off then smeared vaseline into my eyes when set to high FOV & DLSS enabled. Haven't tested every scope, but works great so far!
DouglasBubbletrouser Feb 9th 2023
Sorry for asking a dumb question. But is this a way to run it in 3.41?
Traveler Feb 9th 2023
yea literally told you what to do in my original comment ^
ajdrigs Feb 15th 2023
So I just replace all files in EscapeFromTarkov_Data\StreamingAssets\Windows\assets\content\items\mods\scopes, With the files from bundles/assets/content/items/mods/scopes And the receivers folder?
Traveler Feb 15th 2023
yep by replacing bundles you replace important FOV values in bundles (the core part of the mod)

This mode does not work for 3.4.1?
DeXeR Jan 11th 2023
Is it possible to update the mod for 3.4.1 ? I really like this mod, but it doesn't work even if it's pure Tarkov without mods
MofongoPR Dec 25th 2022
3.4.0 update? This is by far my favorite mod. Going back to the regular scopes after using this mod is impossible.
RavenP Dec 23rd 2022
At some point, this stopped working with 3.3.0. I had it working on this version before despite being outdated, but after having to reinstall everything, version 1.2.2 now reports a fatal server error.
The application had a critical error and failed to run

Not quite sure how to fix it, and I'd rather stay on 3.3.0 for the time being instead of updating to 3.4.0, so any advice to fix things instead of upgrading to AKI 3.4 when this mod gets updated would be much appreciated (since I'm fairly certain any updates will skip right over 3.3.0 and work on 3.4.0 compatibility).

This need to be updated to 3.2.2. Optics don't work anymore, and I miss iron sights on Specter
KALAK12 Aug 29th 2022
Please tell me, is it possible to change the small approximation of the screen outside the scope of the sight? If yes.. Then how?
JJBeanson Aug 20th 2022
Testing will come back
works fine on 3.2.0 for me
JJBeanson Aug 22nd 2022
Only 1 mode works on the REAP-IR, white hot. which is fine
Oppenheimer Aug 15th 2022
First, this worked flawless on 3.1.1
Now, Im running 1080p fullscreen on 3.2, I set my FOV to default(Tried at 50 cause Youtube said thats the default, but I also tried 70 which is what I believe I had in live) and it looks like all the red dot sights are like 10 pixels below my point of aim. Unfortunately a screen grab doesnt show my monitors UI crosshair that is dead center of my resolution at all times. But basically at 100 meters I am shooting high hitting nothing instead of the heads I click. No idea what could be the issue. This is with PK-06, EXPS-all, HHS-1 and zoom, Pilad, UTG, Aimpont anything, Delapoint, Burris FF. Red dots.
I did try without SAMSWATs FOV installed, cause I normally run that but here is my mod list of what else is running. You can see its not much and not anything that changes FOV, resolution, or optics.
ServerValueModifier (containers, stashes, and traders are modified, nothing on weapons or their mods)
YimRecoilTweaks (I just tried this and the problems happened before I installed, but persists anyway)

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.
What is the kremlin in russia?
The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.
And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.
During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.
There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
