With over 7,000 islands to explore, a caribbean catamaran charter is perfect for discovering beautiful destinations.

The Caribbean Sea is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations with over 7,000 islands, islets, reefs, and cays, within the 28 nations it includes. A Caribbean  catamaran charter , no matter which country you visit the azure waters, white sandy beaches, and tropical climate make it the perfect Caribbean catamaran charter destination. With islands in the Caribbean to small islands off mainland Belize, Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, and the Guyanas, the Caribbean Sea stretches far and wide.

The countries included in the 28 nations vary between a tropical savanna climate, tropical rainforest climate, and tropical monsoon climate varying with latitude and island placement. The Caribbean tends to have two distinct seasons – the dry season which takes place between December and April, and the wet season which goes from May to November. The northern islands are also located within an area which is occasionally hit by hurricanes. Hurricane season lasts between June and November but the most prominent months are August and September. On a Caribbean catamaran  charter, you can expect a year-round average temperature of between 25-33c (77-90f).

The BVI.  A BVI yacht charter is a great Caribbean catamaran charter destination for everyone to enjoy. The BVI has beautiful white sandy beaches to enjoy, blue waters to swim in, and picturesque islands to explore. In the BVI there is something relaxing for everyone, from water sports to restaurants serving fresh cocktails and delicious dishes. Located in the Caribbean’s Leeward Islands, this former haunt of pirates, including the infamous Blackbeard.

Sailing in the BVI.  Steady trade winds and line-of-sight navigation between the islands make the BVI a great Caribbean catamaran charter for everyone. The winter months (between November and January) provide a great sailing break with warm weather and a north-east wind at approximately 15 to 20 knots. During the Christmas period winds can reach between 25 and 30 knots, calming back down in February in an east direction.

Antigua. Located in the middle of the Leeward Islands, Antigua is a Caribbean catamaran charter destination with natural beauty, a vibrant live music culture, and water which boasts thousands of shades of blue. This quiet paradise has over 54 miles of coastline to enjoy, with over 365 beaches, all with white sand and natural beauty on a Caribbean catamaran charter.

Sailing in Antigua. There is a reason why Antigua hosts some of the most distinguished regattas in the world, such as the Antigua Classic Regatta and Antigua Sailing Week. This Caribbean catamaran charter destination attracts sailors from all over the world, to enjoy the year-round idyllic steady trade winds (northeast between 15 and 20 knots), line-of-sight navigation, and average daily temperatures of between 28c and 31c (82f – 88f).

3. St Martin

St Martin.  St Martin is an island of sunshine and serenity, mountains and beaches, surrounded by turquoise waters and hidden coves. Here you must take advantage of the yachts and sailboats to truly absorb all that this amazing island has to offer.

Country of Two Halves.  The northern French half evokes a more distinctly European feel with its cafes and French-speaking populace. Here you can enjoy a more secluded atmosphere: you can walk along miles of remote white sandy beaches as far as the eye can see, enjoying some well-deserved privacy among picturesque rocky outcrops. The Dutch half, on the other hand, caters to anyone looking for that festive Caribbean vibe and is where casinos, night clubs, and skyscrapers mingle with spectacular scenery.

Caribbean Catamaran Charter . Belize is located in the Caribbean and is a small country in Central America, south of Mexico and next to Guatemala. Belize is home to the second-largest coral reef in the world named Mesoamerican Reef, which runs 350NM from Yucatan Peninsula (Mexico) all the way down the coast of Belize. This is the perfect location for a Caribbean catamaran charter with snorkeling and over 50 species of corals, 500 species of tropical fish, whale sharks, and seabirds.

Sailing in Belize . Belize is a great place to sail year-round on a Caribbean catamaran charter. Year-round easterly trade winds blow between 15 and 22 knots, guaranteeing calm waters with short passages and line-of navigation.

Grenada. Grenada is the perfect Caribbean catamaran charter for everyone, especially nature-lovers and luxury travellers. Grenada has a unique cultural heritage with influences from Europe and further afield. With busy market squares, historic forts, spice plantations, rum distilleries, coral reefs, waterfalls, and hiking trails. The island was originally home to a volcano which gives the landscape a rocky coastline, with rich vegetation. The island is home to animals such as armadillos, mona monkeys, and mockingbirds, which are great to see on a Caribbean catamaran charter.

Sailing in Grenada. In addition to the wonderful island landscapes, there are lots of things to see and do. With a constant weather temperature between 75 – 85f (24-30c), great anchorages, traditional marinas, and yacht clubs. The winds in Grenada are almost constantly blowing southeast – northeast at between 10-25 knots, with visibility of over 10 miles, making it the ideal sailing location for a Caribbean catamaran charter.

St Lucia.  With Spanish, French, and British influences, St. Lucia has a beautiful blend of cultures. This means that on St. Lucia you’ll find cricket tournaments, banana plantations, traditional Caribbean harbours, a volcano, Caribbean style curry dishes, as well as Calypso, Socal, Reggae, Compas, Zouk, and Salsa music. With a deep and interesting history, there’s no shortage of beautiful island traditions which you can partake in on a Caribbean catamaran charter.

St Lucia Sailing. St Lucia is an idyllic place for a Caribbean catamaran charter, with an average temperature of 18 -29c (65 – 85f) between December and May and 23 – 35c (75 – 95f) between June and November. The winds vary with direction from the northeast, east, and southeast at the constant speed between 10 – 25 knots.

Caribbean Catamaran Charter. Puerto Rico is an idyllic Caribbean catamaran charter destination, with short distances between anchorages and interesting places, some of the Caribbean’s best beaches, easy line-of-sight navigation, and calm seas. Puerto Rico is an ideal Caribbean catamaran charter destination for everyone, all levels of experience and all abilities. Puerto Rico is located close to the Spanish Virgin Islands which is an incredible place to sail around with hidden cays and islets.

Sailing Conditions. The winds around Puerto Rico are typically blowing from the north-east between 15 and 20 knots during November and January. In February the winds change to an easterly direction and by June it is at a south-east direction blowing between 10 and 15 knots. The seas are generally relaxed with between 3 and 4-foot waves and less in sheltered anchorages. Puerto Rico has unspoiled bays and uncrowded anchorages ideal for overnight stops.

The Caribbean and French Fusion. Martinique is a mountainous island with a luscious rainforest, an extinct volcano, Mount Pelee, and floral ecosystems which give the island the name ‘Isle of flowers’. The island is filled with culture, liveliness, colourful festivals, music, dancing, and Creole cuisine. French flair and a laid back Caribbean atmosphere are what make Martinique a great Caribbean catamaran charter destination. Black sandy beaches, hiking trails, shopping, snorkeling spots, and rum distilleries, make Martinique a great Caribbean catamaran charter destination.

Sailing in and Around Martinique. Sailing in Martinique is a great way to experience the island as well as neighbouring islands on a Caribbean catamaran charter. The trade winds usually blow from a northeasterly direction at between 15 – 20 knots. By February the winds move to an easterly direction and then southeast by June at 10 – 15 knots. Waves are rarely larger than 3-5 feet and beautiful anchorages can be found throughout the island.

Rosario Islands. The Rosario Islands are located off the coast of the city of Cartagena in Colombia. The Rosario Islands are a collection of 27 small coral islands, located within a marine national park. The Rosario Islands are a great destination for a Caribbean catamaran charter, with lots of islands to explore such as Tierra Bomba, San Fernando, San Jose, and Baru. When sailing in the Rosario Islands you can set off from Cartagena and discover the white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and unexplored islands.

San Blas Islands. Often referred to as the untouched pearl of the Caribbean the San Blas Islands (Kuna Yala the name given by its locals) located in the Caribbean Sea off the coast Panama. Made up of 360 white sand and clear water islands, each with unique and wonderful untouched nature, with only 49 that are inhabited.

Sailing San Blas Islands. The sailing conditions and weather in the San Blas Islands is divided into two seasons, the high season which is between December and April. During this time the “Aliseos” winds blow strongly with a sunny climate, which is the ideal time for a Caribbean catamaran charter. The low season runs between May and December and during this time there is little rain and little wind.

Very nice Cruise in all Inclusive of 15 days. I was the only one who liked the boat, my wife and daughter weren't completely on board... They loved it. Skipper and cook very attentive. We discovered sublime places. Continental and Creole food, fish and lobster on the BBQ. I will come back in 2 years, to leave from the Blue Lagoon base in St Vincent, which is 1h30 away from the Grenadines. Very nice memories and an amazing preparation before our cruise. Thanks to the whole team for these 15 days of dream.

When you book one of our catamaran cruises, we make sure your experience is as enjoyable as possible. To achieve this, we've included various equipment and amenities in your package so you can fully enjoy your trip in the Caribbean.

The standard boat inventory includes everything you need for a comfortable cruise, from kitchen utensils to safety equipment. You don't have to worry about bringing these basic items as we provide them for you.

For your comfort, we also provide bed linens and shower towels, so you don't need to pack your cabin with linens.

If you're eager to explore the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean, we've also included fins, a mask, and snorkels. You can dive and discover the fascinating marine life of the region.

For your transportation between the boat and nearby beaches or islands, our dinghy equipped with its own motor is at your disposal. It will make it easy for you to access the shore and explore the wonders the Caribbean has to offer.

Not included: Cancellation insurance, landing and mooring taxes on the islands, consumables (diesel, gasoline, water).

We want to ensure that your trip goes smoothly, which is why we would like to inform you about what is not included in your package.

Cancellation insurance is not included, but we strongly encourage you to take out travel insurance that meets your needs and provides peace of mind in case of unexpected events.

Additionally, please note that landing and mooring taxes on the islands are not included in the cruise price. These fees are typically collected by local authorities and may vary depending on the islands you visit.

Regarding consumables such as diesel, gasoline, and water, these costs are not included in the cruise rate and will be at your expense.

Payment methods: We accept payments by bank transfer as well as by credit card. We recommend cardholders to prefer this payment method as it may include additional insurance for your trip. This will allow you to benefit from the protection offered by your credit card in case of cancellation or unforeseen issues during your cruise.

We hope this information helps you better understand what is included in your Caribbean cruise package and what is not. If you have additional questions or specific needs, please feel free to contact us, and we will be delighted to assist you in making your trip unforgettable.

Early check-in: If your flight allows you to arrive at the marina no later than 2:00 PM (allow 20 minutes in Guadeloupe), you can opt for the "early boarding at 2:00 PM." This will allow you to leave the marina before sunset and spend your first night at anchor in Gosier (in Guadeloupe). Our insurance does not cover departures from the marina or anchorages after sunset. Therefore, the handover must start between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM at the latest with the team: €300.

The best time to go sailing in the Caribbean depends on your preferences for weather conditions and crowds. Generally, there are two main seasons for sailing in the Caribbean: the dry season and the wet season.

Dry Season (High Season): The dry season extends from December to April. It is the most popular time for sailing in the Caribbean due to stable weather conditions, pleasant temperatures, and generally sunny skies. However, because of its popularity, prices can be higher, and destinations may be more crowded.

Wet Season (Low Season): The Wet season runs from June to November, with the peak of hurricane activity typically in August and September. This period carries a risk of storms and tropical cyclones, so it is essential to closely monitor weather forecasts. However, the low season offers advantages such as reduced rates, fewer crowds, and lush landscapes.

The choice of the best time to go sailing in the Caribbean will depend on your personal preferences for weather, budget, and tourist crowds.    

Damage waiver insurance, also known as deposit insurance, is an option offered by SAILOÉ.

This insurance is designed to reduce the financial liability of the tenant in case of damages or unforeseen expenses related to the rental property.

Insurance Subscription: When you rent a SAILOÉ boat with a skipper, bail bond insurance is mandatory, and it costs 6% of the boat rental amount.

SAILOÉ will reduce the amount of the security deposit you need to pay at the time of the rental. For example, if the initial security deposit is 8000 euros, by subscribing to the insurance, you could reduce this deposit to 1500 euros.

Captain Rolands’s favorite anchorage is Long Bay Virgin Gorda, he anchors in shallow water then reverses and ties off the rear to a huge round boulder on the beach. The guests' view from here is magnificent, you look across 25 miles down west to St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands and all around you see islands on the horizon. During the day this is gorgeous, early evenings it is better and at night it is calm spectacular, yes now you know “you are” in paradise.

Captain Roland’s favorite snorkeling is around the famous Indians and the Pirate Caves. Snorkeling around the Indians is a unique experience because you are snorkeling around a pinnacle where the seabed is 50-70 feet deep. In a large round push up is this pinnacle of rock covered, from the bottom, in various types of plate coral leading up to various soft colored corals. Rainbow colored fish abound doing their daily work, a flamingo tongue is locked onto a soft purple coral leaf. The water is crystal clear so you can see for at least 70 feet in all directions. This is one snorkel experience that no guest forgets. The Pirates Caves are very different to other snorkeling areas because you can swim into the heart of the caves, turn around and swim from the dark clear shadowed water back into the bright sun light.

Our favourite anchorages are...Tortola, British Virgin Islands: Virgin Gorda, The Baths, Bitter End Yacht Club, Eustatia Sound, Cane Garden Bay, Foxy’s, Jost van Dyke, Soggy Dollar Bar. Our favorite location is the famous Baths with their 40 foot high round boulders half in half out of the water and stacked on top of each other. A walk to devil's bay is a must.

Then we love White Bay Peter Island, if clients want that out of the way Anchorage. We do find that all guests love the Bitter End Yacht Club as well as Marina Cay.

My favorite anchorages are: The bubbling pool, Green Cay and Sandy cay, All three are close to Foxy’s, White Bay and Cane Garden Bay. Marina Cay is a must do anchorage, for the folks who want out-of-the-way. I make an effort to get to Muskmelon Bay on Guana Island. Then one of my favorite spots is 200 yards east of the Bitter End Yacht Club is Coulequan Barrier reef, where 95% of guests snorkely on the inside. My guests are guided by myself to snorkel on the outside of this barrier reef. It is here where you can see 80 feet in all directions, it is here that guests see all the fish, crustaceans, corals, hard and soft, because it is here that the nutrients feeding the reef, come from the deep blue sea. Captain Brand: has that effervescent personality and he can host the most discreet charter. He does like to interact with guests and has a few secret spots where he can take his guests for sundowners.   Scuba diving, snorkeling, and all water sports is his love, plus he is a patient enthusiastic teacher. Our favorite anchorages are Marina Cay and Cam Bay , with out of the way anchorages like Muskmelon Bay on Guana Island . Guests are normally the only folks in this entire anchorage, and we have others, such as The Arena off of Fallen Jerusalem. Cooper Island is another magnificent location encrusted with coconut palms on a white beach.

Our favorite anchorage is Little Harbor on Peter Island. This section of Peter Island is uninhabited but guests and crews love Little Harbor because it is possibly the most protected of all the anchorages.

The island is volcanic so it stretches high into the clouds and thus give magnificent protection even on a blistery day. White caps can dance on top of the surface of where all of us normally sail each day but Little harbor will be dead calm with not a whiff of wind touching the glassy surface of this calm anchorage. Many guests have asked to stay here for two days so we do so.

Kristiann anchors Breanker in 4 foot of water and then we reverse very close to the shore and tie the rear to a tree on shore. This means we can clearly see the fish below us, the water is super clear. Sleeping at night means no land based band music is heard, it is exceptionally quiet at night. This anchorage is perfect for Stand up paddle boards, kayaks and all our water sports.

Kristiann and Marianne have been chartering for 23 years now and 60% of their guests are repeating directly with them.

Captain Kristiann is a top professional and charming gentleman who has been a dear friend for many years (21 years). I have a special Breanker reef I like to take my clients to when scuba diving, it is off the anchorage named Little harbor and very few people know of this one.

Marianne is also a longtime friend and again Charming and professional, you can view both on their 3 minute video below. Marianne's favorite meal to serve her guests is her Breanker Pan Seared Tuna, this comes with Couscous, Wasabi and Fried Plantains, yellow red and green peppers add flavor to her special Breanker Tuna. Marianne can do any international dish, she is Danish and spent many years cooking on the other side of the globe.

ANDREW'S detailed NOTES on the Top 10 catamarans.

The list of top ten catamarans is a cross section of high-end luxury catamarans to suit catamaran charter guests in all price ranges (within reason). These top 10 catamarans are head and shoulders above the others and priced the same as all other catamarans in each different class.

This has provided a few problems; take, for instance, Callista abd Breanker. CAllista is brand new with all the lastest features. Breanker is a 1992 model in wonderful condition. Breankers weekly rate is far lower yet she more than comfortable inside and out.

In the past year, 2018, we have also seen some super wonderful BVI catamarans enter our industry with the new fly bridge area on top, first seen on Akasha and her modern design.

Generally, on all catamarans, there is a 3-foot walkway from the back to the front of the catamaran on the deck level. None of this on Zingara; access to the front is done via a staircase in the cockpit area to allow the extra 6 feet of useable space inside the catamaran, creating the now popular fly-bridge featured on almost every new catamaran manufactured over 55 feet today. Some companies have not added this feature.

The boat owner will require you to upload the boating resume or license of the person who will drive the boat. Most of our boat owners might also like to test your boating skills before you take your bareboat charter out on the water.
