![crescent yacht club grosse pointe crescent yacht club grosse pointe](https://boxstuff-development-thumbnails.s3.amazonaws.com/918943_800x.jpg) The Crescent Sailing Association offers sailing lessons on beautiful Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe Farms, the heart of the Great Lakes and the premier sailing location in the Detroit, Michigan area. More than just an introduction to sailing, Adult Learn to Sail (ALtS) provides a direct path to active participation in dinghy and keel boat racing. The curriculum emphasizes small boat safety, seamanship, and sailing skills in addition to the teamwork required for successful cruising and competitive sailing. Our instructors are highly experienced sailors, with decades of sailing and racing experience. Registration starts February 1st for CSYC members. Registration for nonmembers starts April 1st. Classes begin mid-June. The course is once per week for eleven weeks, through the end of August. Classes are 6 pm to dusk. Applicants to the program frequently outnumber available spaces every year. Registration will be by invitation, and CSYC members get first priority for courses. CSYC offers basic sailing and advanced sailing courses. The cost of the class is $645, or $545 for members. Refund Policy $50 non refundable enrollment fee - no exceptions. 90% refund under the following circumstances: - Sailing the first week and requesting a refund before the next class is scheduled to meet - no questions asked.
