Was here for a private event. The venue was nice. Had a great view of the bay and the bay bridge. Has outdoor seating. Tables for outdoor seating is rather worn and could use some epoxy to cover up that MDF wood that snags on clothes when it comes on contact. Seating inside was also pretty good. There was a bench by a window towards one of the entrances. Could probably use a good cleaning. A tad dirty. $21 for a burger and fries. Over seasoned with salt and pepper in my opinion. Would be really good if that was scaled back a bit. Also has a smoking area towards the back on the deck. I think it's a designated area which I thought was nice bc no one is trying to smell someone else's bad habits and die secondhand.

Want to get your kid out onto the water? Want them to come home happily exhausted after a REAL adventure? According to my son, SBYC Youth Sailing Camp is by far the BEST summer activity EVER. If he could sail everyday all day he would.

********************* 1179 ********************* I've been frequent this South Beach Yacht club since 2013, I have friends that got their big boats park here. SBYC has over 550 members now, plus the 100-strong Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors. They are the second-largest club in San Francisco after the St. Francis Yacht Club. They're known for their active racing program. The Clubhouse is the center of our activities. Races and cruises start and end here, their monthly dinner meetings and numerous parties are held here, and the great mahogany bar is always conducive to a friendly chat. Since the new Clubhouse faces out over South Beach Marina, the big deck gets lots of use on sunny days. This SBYC is by Pier 41, next to the AT & T Ball Park. Every time we get to get the boat out, we go to see the ball park, pretty awesome. This club always get a lot more sunshine than the on the Marina. You can get 24 hrs guest parking permit to park your car at Pier 41, by the gate A. Make it convenient on a holiday or a busy day such as the Fleet Week OCT 10-12, 2014 when the Embarcadro is jam packed with traffic and all the parking by the piers are full. The fee for this South Beach Yacht Club is much more reasonable than other other one in the area.

My husband's company Christmas party was held here. It was a bit difficult to find because the company website nor the GPS can even find it but here's a golden nugget for you... If you exit the freeway and are on King St/Embarcadero, as soon as you pass AT&T park, make an immediate right. Do not go to SB 40 or the South Beach Harbor/Pier because that is NOT where it is. Once you are in the alley on the side of AT&T Park, you will see the side entrance to AT&T park, and several parking lots for event parking, but the lot on the left leads to a stand-alone building which is the South Beach Yacht Club. TA-DA! You have arrived. There are views of the boats, the water, the bridge, and you are literally right next to AT&T Park. The club itself is pretty tiny compared to St. Francis Yacht Club, which I've been to before, and it gets really crowded if a bunch of people are crowded around the bar. The food was pretty good though. The crab cakes were deelish, the shrimp cocktail had huuuge shrimp, the chicken satay and peanut satay almost tasted like an asian person made it... and we also had deviled eggs, bruschetta, prosciutto, and opennnn bar!!! We were able to fit a photo booth in the space, along with a DJ/karaoke, tables and chair, a food station, and a man in the corner sketching caricatures. Keep in mind, we didn't have that large of a group so I'm not sure if this would work for really large groups of 50+ people. Anyhow, I loved it. Byeeeeee.

For a relatively new club, South Beach Yacht Club has really blossomed to be a very fine yacht club. Always very friendly and conveniently located for stop overs. The only down side is that they don't have a club guest dock and you will have to deal with the dock Nazis from the South Beach Marina staff. To be fair, most of the workers there are pretty friendly, but there's a couple of people there that thinks they're royalty and needed to be obeyed or else. They host a Friday night race that is well attended and always fill the club with lots of activities. Good times.

As I sit on the outside deck of the SBYC with a glass of Chardonnay in hand and look out past the marina and out to the bay bridge and treasure island, I really can't imagine a better place to spend a sunny Saturday. The membership is totally affordable, the location is awesome, it isn't snooty or stuck up, the well drinks are cheap and plentiful and there is a full kitchen with a French chef on staff. At night there are plenty of old salty sailors to regale you in stories of the sea. Find a couple members and join. You won't regret it.

No place like it! Beautiful views! ATT Park Giants Games! 700+ boats slots! GREAT STAFF THAT IS VERY HELPFUL! One of my favorite places in the city! Docks are always clean, private bar for yacht club members only, and the bathrooms have showers. In the office, Alvin is always great help, and he has answers to any questions you have about the Harbor. Claude will always take care of your dock needs and he always does a good job! If your looking for a slot to park your boat in the City, definitely check out this harbor!!

Photo of Wanugee N.

This yacht club is in a prime location, right next to AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants! It is on the other side from McCovey Cove and the Splash Hits. Actually, when you see the Coke Bottle and huge Glove in left field on a Giants game on TV, it is right behind there! It is a private, volunteer club with 500 members and the parking lot is permit only. The modern 2 story building faces out to the sailboat slips and the San Francisco Bay, and has full length windows. The club is known for its many racing events and enthusiastic sailors. I went to a private corporate party event here, which was fabulous. The staff are well seasoned veterans of this place, members and volunteers, with stories to tell and very accommodating. Upstairs is a bar and lounge room you can rent out on one side, and the other side a dining area. Fabulous venue for a party of 50 - 100 people. Even though it was a rainy night in December, everyone had a great time. I can only imagine the Indian summer weekends out on the patio overlooking the bay.

There are several points around the bay where commercial vessels can dock. Smaller private docks are usually not suitable for larger boats. Yacht club facilities can sometimes be used depending on the club and if the charter has a membership at that club. The following list shows which docks can be used by which boats. We have included maps for your convenience to each of the docks.

Note: For San Francisco Boarding special attention needs to be paid to the fact that from the Ferry Building the docks run north and west using odd numbers and south and east using even numbers. So from the ferry building odd numbers run toward Fisherman’s Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. Even number piers run toward the Bay Bridge and beyond the Pac Bell Ball Park.

Angel Island Picnic

This year’s BAADS and South Beach Yacht Club Angel Island picnic was a great success! Going from cold, foggy and windy, it turned into a picture perfect day. The BBQ was hands-down the best ever, including salmon, hot dogs, burgers and even scrumptious veggie burgers. Someone spiked the watermelon, but we’re not naming names (initials WH 🙂 Thanks to the more than 50 people who made their way via ferry and sailboats a great time was had by all!
