yacht trip sardinia

Yachting in Sardinia is aimed at tourists who want to live a sustainable travel experience, aware of preserving the terrestrial and marine environment. It is, in fact, the alternative to the overbuilding that increasingly covers our coasts, also allowing us to reach those hidden corners of the coast, not reachable by land, but of great charm, while at the same time preserving their value. In 2018, after twenty years of activity in the charter sector, having had the vision of what could have been the growth prospects of the Eco-sustainable Nautical Tourism sector, the company decided to change gear and starting from the choice of a certifying body expert in the tourist accommodation sector (and not nautical) such as CSQA, revolutionizing its processes in an integral way and completely redesigning the operational model of the activity. It is also the first Nautical Hotel accommodation facility in the world to also have ISO 9001 certification.

The company today offers its customers the opportunity to find the right offer for their holiday by directly visiting the Yachting in Sardinia website where 8 different offers are available every day, valid only for 24 hours, for a fleet of boats that are completely similar. and throughout to floating and completely eco-sustainable housing units, equipped with all comforts and divided into categories (exclusive, comfort and standard). The customer on board receives 24-hour assistance, also thanks to the SeaTutor monitoring system, and can count on a dedicated Service Operator, ready to respond to any needs of the guest crew, giving the customer the opportunity to experience the sea in total safety.

Group Y has been investing for years in the technical set-up of its boats: from the massive use of photovoltaics, to the elimination of endothermic generators, from the use of double alternators combined with automotive-derived battery packs, to the use of watermakers, from use of purifiers, up to the revolutionary "zero" impact underwater protective coating: the SeaProtector, which replaces traditional antifouling, not only improving the performance of the hull by reducing fuel consumption, but, being totally free of biocides toxic, avoid releasing any type of harmful substance into the water.

Motor yacht charter vs sailing yacht charters in Sardinia

Choosing between a crewed motor yacht and a sailing yacht for your Sardinia adventure depends on your preferences, budget, and the experience you’re seeking.

Motor yachts offer several advantages that appeal to many travellers. They provide greater speed and agility, allowing you to cover more distance along Sardinia’s coastline in less time. With their luxurious amenities, spacious interiors, and onboard chefs, motor yachts offer unparalleled comfort and indulgence. Their stability in choppy waters and ease of handling make them suitable for guests who prioritize a smooth sailing experience or have limited sailing experience.

On the other hand, sailing yachts offer a more authentic and serene sailing experience. With their reliance on wind power rather than engines, sailing yachts provide a quieter and more intimate atmosphere, perfect for relaxation and enjoying the natural beauty of Sardinia’s coastline. They evoke a sense of nostalgia and romance with their classic designs and billowing sails, appealing to travelers seeking an authentic maritime adventure. Additionally, eco-conscious travellers often prefer sailing vessels due to their lower environmental impact and reliance on renewable energy.

Ultimately, choosing a motor yacht or a sailing yacht for your Sardinia adventure depends on your preferences and desired level of comfort. Both options offer their own unique advantages and can provide an unforgettable journey along the breathtaking coastline of Sardinia.

Best Yachts for Charter in Sardinia

Motor yachts for charter in sardinia, sailing yachts for charter in sardinia, sardinia yacht charter faqs, where is sardinia.

Sardinia is an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, a part of the Mediterranean Sea, southwest of the Italian Peninsula and just south of the French island of Corsica. It is an autonomous region of Italy and boasts over 1,850 kilometers (1,150 miles) of coastline, featuring stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and dramatic cliffs. Sardinia is surrounded by smaller islands and archipelagos, such as the Maddalena Archipelago to the northeast, offering additional exploration and discovery opportunities on your own private yacht charter. These islands often have secluded beaches, hidden caves, and charming villages to explore.

Sardinia’s coastline boasts miles of superlative beaches and secret grottos only accessible by boat. Porto Cervo is at the region’s main center, home to Costa Smeralda. This area has become increasingly desirable for luxury yacht charters because of its remote location and exclusive atmosphere. South of Porto Cervo, you will find forested mountains, medieval villages, and stunning seas. Another recommended site is La Maddalena National Park, a marine reserve that offers opportunities for secluded anchorages and overnight stays. Spotted with seven main islands and many islets, La Maddalena offers crystal-clear waters for an afternoon snorkel and access to the beautiful pink sand beach named Pink of Budelli. Sardinia’s coastal cuisine differs from inland; the seafood base and pasta dishes pay homage to the sea and further contribute to the laidback yet luxurious atmosphere of the island.

When is the best time to go on a Sardinia yacht charter?

The best time to hop on a yacht and explore Sardinia is usually in the summer, from June to September. During this time, the weather is warm and sunny, perfect for soaking up the sun and diving into the crystal-clear waters. Remember that summer is popular with yacht charter guests and tourists, so planning ahead and booking early is advisable. Spring (April to May) and autumn (October to November) are great options for Charter guests who prefer fewer crowds. You’ll still get lovely weather and plenty of chances to enjoy the island’s beauty without the hustle and bustle of peak season. So, whether you’re aiming for exciting summer adventures or a more relaxed experience, there’s a perfect time for a Sardinia yacht adventure to fit your preferences.

Can I visit other destinations on a Sardinia yacht charter?

Yes, absolutely! One of the great advantages of chartering a yacht in Sardinia is the opportunity to explore other destinations in the Mediterranean. Sardinia’s strategic location in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea makes it an excellent starting point for cruising to nearby islands, coastal towns, and other popular destinations.

Just a short sail away from northern Sardinia, Corsica offers stunning landscapes, picturesque towns, and pristine beaches. Explore the historic port city of Bonifacio, relax on the beautiful beaches of Porto-Vecchio, or hike in the rugged mountains of the interior.

The Amalfi Coast

Sail along the west coast of Italy to visit the breathtaking Amalfi Coast , known for its dramatic cliffs, colorful villages, and Mediterranean charm. Explore the picturesque towns of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello, and enjoy the stunning views of the coastline from the deck of your yacht.

The Aeolian Islands

Located off the northern coast of Sicily, the Aeolian Islands are a volcanic archipelago known for their natural beauty and unique landscapes. Visit the island of Stromboli to see its active volcano, explore the picturesque town of Lipari, or relax on the secluded beaches of Panarea and Salina.

The French Riviera

Cruise along the French Riviera to visit glamorous destinations such as Saint-Tropez, Cannes, and Monaco . Enjoy world-class shopping, dining, and nightlife, and soak up the sun on the famous beaches of the Côte d’Azur.

Head south from Sardinia to explore the island of Sicily , known for its rich history, cultural heritage, and stunning coastline. Visit historic cities such as Palermo, Syracuse, and Taormina, and sample the delicious Sicilian cuisine.

Sardinia Boat Trip Reviews

1. catamaran alice from porto rafael-palau to maddalena archipelago.

  • Duration: 7 to 8 hours
  • Departure: Via Case Sparse, Localita Punta Sardegna, 07020 Palau
  • Departure Time: 9:45 AM
  • Includes: Lunch, bottled water, alcoholic beverages, coffee and/or tea, soda, restroom on board, snorkeling gear

If this is your first time in Sardinia, you owe it to yourself to check out the Catamaran Alice from Porto Rafael-Palau to Maddalena Archipelago tour.

This tour lasts all day, so make a day free to check out this fantastic experience where you’ll get to see the ins and outs of this incredible place without the crowds. The guides provide everything you need for a fantastic day both on the water and sand!

You’ll start out in the morning by meeting your guides at the port so you can board your state-of-the-art catamaran complete with snorkeling gear, snacks, alcohol, water, coffee, and restrooms on board.

Trust me when I say that this is one of the more “luxurious” tours I’ve had of its kind, with comfort and cleanliness in mind in every regard.

After a quick briefing, you’ll set off for the island of Spargi first, where you’ll have the chance to snorkel and splash around the clear waters. One of the coolest sites you’ll get to see on this tour is the Spiaggia Rosa, or the world-famous “Pink Beach”!

As you may be able to guess by the name, it’s known for its coral-hued beach thanks to the type of granite that are in the area.

Expand To See More See Less

Next up is the Spiaggia di Cavalieri, which is characterized by the mirror-like water, locked in between various other islands and perfect for swimming around.

The islands of Razzoli and Santa Maria are next, who are joined yet have very distinct charms that set them apart from one another.

Razzoli is known for its majestic cliffs, and Moore sculpture-like rock formations, along with a striking lighthouse that overlooks the Bocche di Bonifacio.

Santa Maria has ancient homes and a modest convent and was once a refuge for Benedictine monks fleeing Bonifacio in the Middle Ages.

Tour Information & Booking

100% refund for cancellations within 24 hours of tour experience, 2. private boat tour of the la maddalena archipelago.

  • Duration: 7 hours
  • Departure: Touristic Harbour Pier M-Porto Turistico Molo M, 07020, Palau SS
  • Departure Time: 10:00 AM
  • Includes: Private transportation, restroom on board, use of snorkeling gear, SUP, snacks, alcoholic beverages, water

This next tour is really special if you’re looking for a more intimate tour where you don’t have to share your boat with other parties. Rather, this is a completely private tour that can accommodate parties of up to 8 passengers.

If that’s what you’re looking for, check out the Private Boat Tour of the La Maddalena Archipelago ! The thing about Sardinia is that your experience will vary quite a bit depending on the size of both the boat you’re traveling on and how many people are in your group.

If you’re on a large vessel or are coming with a large group of people, you simply won’t be able to get to see as much as you would otherwise.

The size of the boat on this tour allows you to get much closer to less-crowded coves, exploring those “hidden gem” spots that most tourists don’t get to see. The captain and crew were simply incredible, with their friendliness, attention to detail, and professionalism throughout.

Not only that, but they set up a delicious buffet lunch for us to enjoy onboard with plenty of local wine and dishes we hadn’t tried before! I find this to be perfect for a little “romantic” date with a significant other, as you can have the entire boat and experience to yourself.

Stop first at the Isola di Spargi which is known for its beautiful coves, so make sure to get that camera out and ready.

You’ll then cruise onward to the Budelli Archipelago Maddalena, which is known for its pink beach. Unfortunately, you won’t get to stop as it’s an important reserve, but you will get to see the bright turquoise waters and the small, charming island of Santa Maria.

3. Maddalena Archipelago Catamaran Tour with Lunch From Sardinia

  • Duration: 6.5 hours
  • Departure: Porto Turistico di Palau, Pontoon M.
  • Departure Time:  10:00 AM
  • Includes: Captain, fuel, entry permit to park, snorkeling gear, appetizer and lunch, wine, bottled water, insurance

What I love about this area is that if you’re feeling overwhelmed or burnt out by the hustle and bustle of mainland life, there are ways to escape it.

For example, the Maddalena Archipelago is a wonderfully tranquil respite where you’ll leave the chaos behind and get to revel in the natural beauty of this area. The Maddalena Archipelago Catamaran Tour with Lunch from Sardinia tour is a great way to spend the day and be back by dinnertime!

Your vessel for the day is a state-of-the-art catamaran that I noticed has been very well-maintained, clean, and very comfortable. The captain and crew were some of my favorites, only elevating the tour experience with their senses of humor and friendliness.

As this is also a small-group tour, you don’t have to worry about just being another head in the crowd and really get to benefit from personalized attention.

As the boat sails across the clear, turquoise waters, you can choose to lounge around on the deck and soak up the rays or take in views from the covered rooftop.

As you cruise around, the captain will point out various points of interest, like the mythical Budelli or the historic Santa Maria. You’ll take intermittent breaks at designated locations to hop into the water with snorkeling gear and explore the vibrant underwater world that lies beneath.

Once you climb back onboard, you and the rest of your party will indulge in a traditional Sardinian smorgasbord of savory pastas, warm bread, fresh fruit, Vermentino wine, and plenty of coffee and sweets!

This tour made me feel like I was a kid again, splashing around in the water, taking a dingy over to the beach, and learning about these magnificent places from professionals. Overall, this is a very special tour that will easily make for a memorable day in Sardinia.

4. Day Trip on a Sailing Catamaran in Sardinia

  • Duration: 9 to 10 hours
  • Departure:  Molo Brin, 07026 Olbia SS
  • Departure Time: 9:00 AM
  • Includes: Use of kayaks, use of SUP, lunch, use of snorkeling gear

This next tour is indeed one of the longest out there, but you’re also simply going to see and do more than the others. If you don’t mind spending all day out in the sun venturing around, then this tour should be at the top of your list.

The Day Trip on a Sailing Catamaran in Sardinia Tour  not only involves breathtaking scenery, but a friendly captain, mouthwatering food, great company, and a lot of learning.

This tour is perfect for any age of background, seamlessly balancing relaxation, learning, adventure, and natural beauty all into one memorable excursion.

Our captain immediately felt like he was a longtime friend, with his crew consisting of his son and his dog (!!) who only made us feel more at home.

Starting out early in the morning, you can cruise around at your leisure and see the different locations all while avoiding the crowds that appear later in the day.

The small-group catamaran was very comfortable and I could tell it was in great condition by how easily it floated over the crystal-clear waters.

As you cruise around, you’ll get to munch on a tasty lunch consisting of various traditional dishes from Sardinia as you enjoy the jaw-dropping background.

I also appreciated that they really let you have a say in the activities you’d like to partake in rather than everyone having to go on a cookie-cutter tour.

You can simply spend time onboard relaxing in either the sun or shade, or head into the water for some kayaking, paddleboarding, and/or snorkeling. Even if you’ve never done any of the sports before, the crew was incredibly friendly and helped us learn how to paddle properly!

Capped at just 8 participants, this is a tour that feels like good friends are simply taking you out for a day of fun and sightseeing!

5. Snorkeling Day from Palau Sardinia

  • Departure:  Via Riva dei Lestrigoni, 07020 Palau SS
  • Departure Time: Check with tour operator
  • Includes: Lunch, use of snorkeling gear, bottled water, snacks, coffee and tea, all fees and taxes

Whether you’re an absolute snorkeling pro or have never done the activity before, you’re in luck. The Snorkeling Day from Palau Sardinia tour is made for everyone, no matter how experienced you are!

This 7-hour adventure packs a ton into just 1 day, and is perfect if it’s your first time in this part of the world. Designed for family and friends alike, this day of exploration is limited to just 9 passengers so you get a customized experience tailor-made to fit your interests.

The vessel for the day is a 13-meter motorboat which has enough room to lounge around comfortably while still being small enough to access the lesser-seen parts of the area.

The spacious bow sundeck is complete with comfortable cushions to lounge on, while the aft cockpit offers some shade from the awning.

Fuel up with a tasty lunch, snacks, coffee, and tea complete with some al fresco dining as the sea breeze blows through your hair as you sit on the plush side sofas or the dining table.

Throughout the day, you’ll get to make three to four stops that all offer something different from the others. On these stops, you can choose to go for a swim, or even try snorkeling with the included snorkeling gear onboard.

Whether you’re traveling with children or a group of friends, you’ll love this day out on the water exploring with the fun and helpful crew. Oh, and another cool little part of the day was the visit from the ice cream boat which is like an ice cream truck on water!

This tour exemplified the quaint charm and world-class beauty unique to Sardinia in quite possibly the most convenient way possible.

Sardinia Travel Guide

Planning tips.

Sardinia is a unique region of Italy with a significant level of political autonomy. You’ll discover important cultural differences between Sardinia and the mainland, including an indigenous language that is as widely used as Italian. Here are 5 tips to help you plan your stay.

Tip #1: Consider all the factors when deciding when to visit Sardinia

The best time for beach holidays in Sardinia is during the summer high season and the shoulder seasons, between May and November.

This is also the time when you’ll find budget air tickets. However, the beaches will be crowded during the middle of the season.

Because temperatures reach around 35 0 C during July and August, the summer is a bad time to consider hiking adventures. Avid hikers should aim to come in spring or fall, say September and October.

Also, take note of the dates of Sardinia’s many festivals. If you’re particularly interested in wine or traditional food, you can arrange your visit to coincide with one of the major festivals celebrating local vineyards or cuisine.

Religiously minded visitors may want to come when one of the major saints are celebrated. The most famous religious celebration, the festival of Sant’Efisio, is celebrated on 1 st May.

Tip #2: Be prepared for the heat along the coast

If you do decide to come during midsummer, be well prepared for the rising heat and strong sunlight along the coast. During the day, the air temperature can rise rapidly and without warning.

Ensure you prepare lots of bottled water to stay hydrated. Also, you’ll need a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and possibly a parasol.

Tip #3: Watch out for unique souvenirs

Cagliari is a great place to watch out for local art and craft products. The whole island boasts rich artistic traditions, so you’ll find great local craft stores in most major settlements.

But locally produced wines are also in demand as souvenirs. Cannonau Agriolas and La Cala are popular Sardinian wine varieties.

Tip #4: Book in advance, especially during summer

Sardinia gets crowded during the summer. If you want to avoid disappointment, book the hotel room you want and any tours you’re interested in well in advance.

Tip #5: Be prepared for the culture shock

Sardinia really isn’t like the rest of Italy. For a start, the locals speak a different language. It sounds more like Spanish than Italian.

And that strange language changes rapidly as you travel around the island. Also, Sardinia is like a time vault. You’ll find women wearing headscarves reminiscent of the Middle East because the island was once ruled by the Moors. Other ancient traditions mean that you’ll find quaint and unusual cultural oddities all around the island.

Towns in Sardinia

This is a large town on the northwestern coast that boasts a lively nightlife at any time of the year. Much of the fun is centered around its many bars along the Spiaggia di San Giovanni beachfront, such as the top-rated Maracaibo Cocktail Bar and Kelu Lounge Bar.

The bars close between 1 and 2 am. During summer, in the south of the city, some waterfront bars are open until 4 am. Also during high season, late night clubs operate on the outskirts of the town.

Costa Smeralda

This area of coastline is known for the 3 resort towns of Baja Sardinia, Porto Cervo, and Porto Rotondo. The whole area is known for its trendy clubs and beach parties and is favored by the young.

Popular clubs include Billionaire Porto Cervo , Ritual Club Porto Cervo , and Sottovento Baja Sardinia .

Santa Teresa di Gallura

This port town on the north coast is where you’ll find some of the most popular nightclubs in Sardinia, like Estasi’s . Bar Central 80 is a well-known bar on the main square where you can grab an outdoor table and people watch until the early hours.

San Teodoro

This is a small town on the northern coast that boasts some of the liveliest nightlife on the island. Check out the Ambra Day Bar with its live music, Bal Harbour Beach Bar , and Gallo Blu Restaurant and Bar.

Villasimius

This town on the south coast is renowned for its beach parties and clubs. Being only 30 miles from Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, Villasimius has become a popular destination for Sardinian clubbers.

There are plenty of clubs to choose from, like Kimi, Lagoon Club , and Tigo’.

What Will I See on a Sardinia Boat Tour?

The coastline of Sardinia is beautiful, and many visitors join boat trips to explore the sea caves, shipwrecks, and small islands. If you’re lucky, you might see dolphins offshore.

If you visit Caprera island, you can see Garibaldi’s house, which is now a memorial chapel and museum. This famous general was the main force behind uniting Italy, which had been split into small city-states and kingdoms since the collapse of the Roman Empire.

Geological features

Sardinia is rich in fascinating geological features. One of the most impressive is Bear Rock (Capo d’Orso), which is a short drive from Palau.

While occasionally you’ll see rock formations that proport to resemble an eagle or a lion, this natural feature truly does resemble a bear.

It’s so similar that you might be tempted to think it’s an ancient statue weathered by the passing of time.

The limestone bedrock around the island contains many caves that are interesting to visit. Some are sea caves that may only be accessed on boat tours. Others can be entered by climbing.

The most famous cave in Sardinia is Neptune’s Grotto outside Alghero, which is reached by descending 600 steps. It is well worth the hike to see its fantastic, sparkly stalagmites and stalactites.

Grotto di Ispinigoli is another well-known cave system that boasts 5 miles of caverns to explore. Many Nuragic and Phoenician artifacts have been discovered in this cave during archaeological excavations.

yacht trip sardinia

Day 1 – 6 nautical miles

Porto Cervo to Cali di Volpe

On arrival at the international airport, two crew members will warmly welcome you and will transport you to the awaiting tender that will ferry you to the anchorage. After your journey there will be time to relax, explore your surroundings and meet the entire crew while we cruise for about 45 minutes to Cali di Volpe and pick up a mooring for the night. While moored you may enjoy water sports or go to shore in the tender and enjoy the beauty of Cali di Volpe and Porto Cervo.

Cali di Volpe is lined with some of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in the Mediterranean . It is a breathtaking anchorage where guests can start to adjust to their vacation. Start the process slowly by relaxing or jump right in and get the water toys out!  After dinner a movie under the stars on our outside aft deck can be provided.

Day 2 – 10 nautical miles

Porto Liscia or Saline – La Maddalena Islands

From the lively town of Porto Cervo, we depart this morning for a quiet sail up to La Maddalena Archipelago on the northeast coast of  Sardinia . Only reached by boats or ferries, this charming and largely uninhabited area includes the islands of Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria and Razzoli. The yacht will anchor off Liscia or Saline, which will depend on the weather which spot will be better. During the afternoon the tender will take you around the Archipelago for sightseeing and a breath-taking snorkel.

The main island ‘La Maddalena’ will only be 3 – 4 miles away by tender. It is a very small island with only a handful of sights such as Piazza Umberto, Cala Francese, via Garibaldi that are short distances from one another. Most visitors come to the island to experience the laid back lifestyle of the locals and walking around the island is the best way to do that.  Maddalena offer a few small local restaurants. The food here is mainly local Italian dishes and fresh daily caught seafood.

Day 3 – 19 nautical miles

Iles Lavezzi, Corsica/Bonifacio

Today we will depart early and anchor off Isles Lavezzi, a remote water park sanctuary that is made up of spectacular rock formations. Its idyllic beaches and shallow seas is an excellent spot to swim, snorkel or dive. The yacht can always arrange a dive boat for this area where it is well known for large colonies of grouper fish and crystal clear water up to sixty feet.  Marked pathways enable you to explore the island.

turquoise

Bonifacio, Corsica

Bonifacio is an amazing town, dramatically built right on the cliff edge. Here you can get off the boat and enjoy an afternoon at leisure meandering through the medieval lanes, touring the walled fortress area, or strolling along the bluff high above the harbor.  On the tip of the promontory is the marine cemetery and windmills that date from the XII century – but best of all is the view stretching across the straights of Sardinia. Terrace bars and restaurants, ice cream parlors and boutiques welcome you to this St Tropez type enchanting spot, which you can enjoy into the night.

The yacht can rent four-seat dune-buggies with an English speaking guide to take round the beachside and hilltops of  Corsica . This is very highly recommended by previous charter guests.

Day 5 – 15 nautical miles

Santa Amanza, Corsica

In the morning we travel to Santa Amanza and anchor off a very secluded scenic beach area that is great for water sports, relaxing and just getting away from it all. Being sheltered from the weather elements is a great area to have a beach day or picnic on the beach. This anchorage is the true definition of ‘relaxation’.

Day 6 – 24 nautical miles

Porto Cervo

Today we will travel two and a half hours to Porto Cervo and dock in the old town, which is the most exclusive dock in Europe. Here the sightseeing is a must, the shopping is spectacular and if you would like we can organize dinner ashore. Porto Cervo, a recreational Sardinian fishing village, can be described as active, chic, and very popular with royalty and movie stars alike!  In the early afternoon if you would like to venture out and see Sardinia’s countryside, the captain can suggest a tour van or scooters out of Porto Rotondo. The drive is breathtaking and this unique small town offers local shops and restaurants.

Tomatoes

Day 7 – 6 nautical miles

Cala Sabina

In the morning we will move to a more secluded anchorage where we can do water sports for the entire day and enjoy the beachfront. From this area you can take a short tender ride into Porto Rotondo and explore this unique small town that offers a variety of local shopping and restaurants. The yacht will depart Cala Sabina after dinner for a two hour scenic cruise to Olbia for the morning departure.

Day 8 – Disembarkation

Olbia Sardinia

Please keep in mind that itineraries are only guidelines, and they are not etched in stone! The following outlines for your journey is subject to change, as we are dependent on favorable winds and seas. However we know the areas very well and will have several contingency plans. You may like a specific area and choose to stay longer in that particular place.

5-Star Tour According to Our Clients

The trip was very well prepared. We have visited 3 beaches (Gabianni, Mariolu, Biriali) and swam from the boat in Piscine di Venere. There was enough time for us on each beach. We went also to Grotta del Fico. It is a really beautiful cave, definitely worth visiting. The guide brought us also to caves and canyons along the shore. Our boys enjoyed the whole day.

We booked this trip based on TripAdvisor reviews and did not regret it! We had an amazing day with our friendly skipper. He took us to the most beautiful beaches we‘ve ever seen in Sardinia (and which are typically not easy to reach). He also showed us some caves and told us a bit about the scenery. We also booked the Grotta visit which was an interesting experience too - especially as this was one of the biggest caves like this we have ever seen. The big advantage of traveling in October was that the beaches were almost empty but the weather and temperature were still quite good. If you have the chance to do this trip, we would definitely recommend it!

It was the most incredible exWithrience of my life. the tour takes you to visit the most beautiful beaches and caves of the ogliastra region... Real natural monuments. With the guidance and sympathy of a true Sardinian man, knower of the territory and the sea i learnt and i had a fun. Everything has been more then perfet. The experience ll be one of the memory to keep in your heart and share with family. Thanks you Antonello to share secrets of your lend.

It was amazing on this small boat to visit around the east side. Antonello the 'big captain' is very kind and give you the details about what you see. :) We saw a lot and we had very kind traveller mates as well. We would do it again!!! I think we were the first Hungarians Antonello met on the boot! Thank you for this journey. Best wishes from the Hungarian couple :)

yacht trip sardinia

Boris has chosen well – Sardinia is the greatest island in the world

F ormer prime minister Boris Johnson and his family are, very sensibly, taking a break in Sardinia . It’s the perfect destination for those with young children, with dozens of beautifully clean sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and almost guaranteed sunshine throughout the summer. It’s not exactly Clacton.

I was first introduced to the island more than 20 years ago when my sister, who lives in Italy, bought a holiday home on the east coast, and now I go back at least once or twice a year. I’ve been writing about Italy for decades, especially Naples , which I’ve always felt an affinity to as it’s so close to where my dad’s family lived, but Sardinia is something else. It’s Italian, of course, but firmly Sardinian. It’s an autonomous region, and, while Italian is the official language, Sardinian (Sardu) is widely spoken. Sardinians are fiercely proud of their culture, and it’s a fascinating one that I’ve gradually learned more about over the years. But first? The sea. Impossibly turquoise, limpid, wonderfully clean, and, according to my brother-in-law, as good as the Maldives (only closer, and a lot cheaper).

There are hundreds of beaches along the almost 2,000km (1,200 miles) of coastline, so if you have a car, bike, or strong legs (for beaches at the foot of a mountain, and unreachable by road) your chances of finding a deserted one are much increased. If you have access to a boat, even better. Or choose a hotel that has its own beach.

Sardinia is also a Blue Zone – it has an unusually high number of centenarians, thanks in part to the food, walking (those hills again) and a focus on family life. Sardinian cuisine is simple, fresh and usually local, with many foods that are particular to the island, such malloreddus pasta, a bit like gnocchi, often served with a tomato and sausage sauce; and porceddu , a spit-roasted suckling pig flavoured with myrtle and rosemary. And then there’s the pompia , an ancient citrus fruit grown in eastern Sardinia. The rind can be candied, and covered in honey. Delicious.

The rich culture of the island is fascinating, and relatively easy to discover with a visit to one its Nuragic sites that feature standing stones and cave systems that date back to the Bronze Age, or one of the many museums (the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Cagliari is especially interesting thanks to its collection of Nuragic Bronzes that pre-date the Chinese Terracotta Army).

But perhaps the best way is to attend one of the many festivals that take place year-round all over the island. Most offer food, drink and traditional Sardinian music featuring polyphonic singing and the traditional launeddas , a three-pipe instrument that sounds a little like the bagpipes. For my money, the best of them all is Sant’Efisio , in May, a four-day extravaganza featuring Sardinians in traditional dress who come from all over the island to process to Nora - 60km (37 miles|) away, making it the longest Italian procession. The festival is to give thanks to Saint Ephysius, who is believed to have brought an end to a plague that struck Cagliari between 1652 and 1656.

And what is there for young people? Plenty, in fact. Active kids can enjoy spectacular walks, and sea sports, such as kayaking, kite- and windsurfing. Teenagers love the buzz of the town beaches, such as Cagliari ’s Poetto beach, with its host of cafés and bars. And for those a shade older, Sardinia is fast becoming a destination for anyone looking for some Ibiza-style action. Sardinia’s Phi Beach in Arzachena, on the famous Costa Smeralda , has just entered DJ magazine’s Top 100 DJ Clubs in 2024. This year the location will feature some of the hottest names on the electronic music scene, like Black Coffee, DJ Tennis, Carl Cox, Bora Uzer, Themba and Peggy Gou.

So there is really something for everyone but, despite this, the island is still rather underappreciated by British tourists. In summer 2023, according to OAG statistics, there were 1,138 flights from the UK to Sardinia, compared with 14,907 to Majorca, 7,920 to Tenerife, and 6,900 to Cyprus. Why is that? At first guess, I’d suggest that those who fly to Majorca, Tenerife and Cyprus are looking for sun, sea, sand and perhaps something familiar; the possibility of getting an English breakfast, say, or a pub where you can hang out with a lot of fellow Brits. Which is fine, of course. But it’s not for me. Besides, it means a better chance of finding peace and quiet in unbeatable Sardinia.

Leni Klum’s romance with her boyfriend, Aris Rachevsky, is getting hot and heavy.

The young model, 20, went for a steamy dip with her beau while on vacation in Sardinia, Italy, Saturday.

Klum and Rachevsky were spotted kissing in and out of the water during their beach visit.

She was all smiles as she sported a cheeky burgundy bikini while her longtime boyfriend wore a pair of striped swim shorts.

The beauty also packed what seemed to be a pair of short Uggs, which she wore once they dried off.

Once he was out of the water, Rachevsky opted for a gray tee and a blue cap. He paired the look with some sunglasses.

Though she’s not pictured in the paparazzi snaps, the model’s mother, Heidi Klum, also seemingly had a fun beach day.

On her Instagram Story, Heidi, 51, shared several cute pictures of herself and her husband, Tom Kaulitz, showing each other some love on Saturday as they lounged by the water.

In one video, Kaulitz massaged her back while she laid down in the sand.

Heidi didn’t reveal her location, but it wouldn’t be shocking for the mother-daughter duo to be vacationing together considering how close they are.

Last month, Heidi and Leni went for a matching moment in feathered outfits as they attended the 2024 amfAR Gala Cannes afterparty in Cap d’Antibes, France.

The “America’s Got Talent” judge wore a sheer white Monique Lhuillier dress under an oversized blazer at the soirée, which was held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

Meanwhile, Leni — whom Heidi shares with ex-husband Flavio Briatore — went pink for the party, selecting a strapless minidress covered in tiers of feathers, paired with a dazzling diamond necklace.
