Disney's Yacht Club

Take appropriately marked bus directly to the park.

Take the water taxi located at the marina between Yacht Club & Beach Club or take the walkways to the parks.

Take the bus marked for Disney Springs.

Take the bus marked for Animal Kingdom and transfer to the bus stop marked for Blizzard Beach.

Take the bus marked Disney Springs / Typhoon Lagoon.

* Check park hours as alternative routes may be required due to bus schedules.*

Transportation to other Disney Resort hotels for dining experiences such as Whispering Canyon or ‘Ohana, and for dinner shows like Spirit of Aloha and Hoop De Doo Review require an extra step or two.  Bus service does not run between resorts, so travel to the nearest park and transfer to another bus is necessary.  The recommended steps are below:

Take a water taxi from the marina between Yacht Club & Beach Club or take the walkways between these resorts.

Take the bus to Magic Kingdom, then take the water taxi to the Campground.  Pioneer Hall is within walking distance.

Take the bus to Magic Kingdom, then take either a bus or water taxi to Wilderness Lodge.

Take the water taxi to Hollywood Studios and then transfer to the bus for the resort of your choice

*Some transportation options may be affected by inclement weather so check with Cast Members for alternate options. *

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Walt Disney World Resorts Yacht Club Resort Main | Rooms | Dining | Recreation | Resort Map

Like Disney's Beach Club Resort , Disney's Yacht Club Resort has the distinct advantage of its close proximity to Epcot . A short ten-minute walk is all that it takes to get to the International Gateway entrance of the World Showcase at Epcot ®. For guests who arrive at this entrance prior to the World Showcase “official” opening time of 11:00 a.m., there will be Cast Members to escort guests to Future World. Buses and Friendship launches will take guests to other Walt Disney World® Resort destinations.

  • Magic Kingdom ® Park: Take the Magic Kingdom ® Park bus from the front of the resort. Bus service is shared by Disney's Beach Club Resort , and Disney's BoardWalk Resort as well. A leisurely, but more scenic alternative, is to walk through Epcot ® and take the Monorail to the Ticket & Transportation Center and switch to the Magic Kingdom ® Park Monorail from there.
  • Epcot ®: If it’s too hot to walk or if you simply want to conserve your energy, take the Friendship boat launch. But take note that the launch also stops at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin and Disney's BoardWalk Resort docks so the trip to Epcot ® could take up to 20 minutes.
  • Disney-MGM Studios : Take a separate Friendship launch. As with the Epcot ® launch, service is shared with the other Crescent Lake resorts. Once again, this trip can take up to 20 minutes.
  • Disney's Animal Kingdom ® Theme Park: Take the Disney's Animal Kingdom ® Theme Park bus. However, in addition to Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort guests, the bus also makes stops at Disney's Boardwalk Resort and the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels.
  • Downtown Disney ® Marketplace, Downtown Disney ® West Side, Downtown Disney ® Pleasure Island: Take the Downtown Disney ® bus
  • Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park: Take the Downtown Disney ® bus
  • Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park: Take the Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park bus

For those wishing to go anywhere else on (or off) property, Bell Services can get a taxi for you. The bus stop at Disney's Yacht Club Resort is located to the left as you exit the lobby, on the other side of the porte cochere (valet loading and unloading area).

Disney Transportation Map

Our Disney Transportation Map is an interactive map designed to help you plan your next Disney vacation. Use it to determine which Disney Resort is the best fit for your next trip to Florida!

How to Use the Disney Transportation Map and Guide

The massive Walt Disney World Resort transportation system can be confusing. Use our Disney World Transportation Map/Guide to navigate your way around the park. We provide the bus, monorail, and boat routes you will need to reach your destination.

To use the interactive Disney World Transportation Map and Guide, simply click on the name of the Disney Resort you wish to depart from or arrive at. You will see the Disney transportation options available to you. The transportation routes are color-coded and highlighted to correspond with the information in the legend key. Note that certain destinations do not have direct transportation options, and you may need to take a connecting mode of transportation to reach your destination.

Walt Disney World Transportation Map and Guide

Disney Transport  is a massive public transportation system at Disney World that provides efficient transportation within the park. All modes of Disney transportation are complementary (i.e., FREE) and open to guests staying at a Disney Resort and staying off-property.

The system consists of buses, monorails, watercraft (water taxis, boats, and ferries), and other assorted modes of transport heading to areas throughout Disney World. Disney Transport provides guests with a wide variety of transportation options, including resorts to theme parks, theme parks to theme parks, resorts to resorts, and Disney Springs (the shopping, dining, and entertainment district). In other words, where ever you want to go to Disney World, you can get there using some form of Disney transportation. Plus, there are taxi services like Uber and Lyft within the park if you so choose.

Because of Disney’s large size – 25 Disney Resorts, 4 theme parks, and two water parks – deciding which mode of transportation you should use to get from point A to point B can be confusing. Thus, we have created a Disney World transportation map to help you find the best route to your destination. Continue reading for detailed information about transportation routes and pickup locations to and from each Disney Resort listed on the map.

How Does Walt Disney World Resort Transportation Work?

Disney provides transportation using buses, ferries/boats, monorails, as well as a few other options like railroad and parking lot trams. One of the great things about Disney transportation lines is that it is entirely free to use, which means you can potentially spend no money on transportation during your stay at the park. Of course, there are plenty of  parking lots if you choose to use your own car (you can even get free parking if you’re staying onsite) — and you can use taxi/Uber/Lyft options (extra charge) to speed up your arrival if necessary. However, if you plan on staying at a Disney Resort, there really is no need to open your wallet to get around Disney World.

As you can see from the Disney World Transportation Map, there is a wide availability of free transportation inside the park. In addition, every Disney Resort has stations/stops to catch various modes of transportation to a theme park, water park, and other destinations around Disney World.

(Note: For maps of the theme parks, water parks, Disney Resort hotels, and Disney Springs, please reference our comprehensive  Disney World Map  page for printable PDF maps.)

B us Transportation at Disney World

Buses at Disney World

Buses provide Disney World guests a mode of transportation in locations where monorail or boat are not available, and walking is not an option. You can find Disney’s bus service connecting all in-park Disney resort hotels with each theme park and water park (most buses provide direct service), to/from Disney Springs, and service between parks.  Like all modes of Disney transportation, bus service is complimentary and offered to both visitors staying at a Walt Disney World Resort as well as those staying  off-site .

On average, Disney buses run every 20 minutes from all Walt Disney World Resorts, although wait times can vary. To accommodate breakfast dining reservations and parks with Extra Magic Hours, bus service to the theme parks typically begins at 6:30-7 a.m. (running on a less frequent basis). Buses run at full operation roughly one hour before the park opens and stop running up to 2 hours after the park closes in the evening. Buses to/from Disney Springs remain in operation until 2 a.m. Check with your Walt Disney World Resort for the latest information.

Larger  Disney World hotels have bus stops inside the resort grounds, whereas smaller resorts typically have stops near the resort’s front entrance. The bus stops for theme parks are located near the park entrance, and the Disney Springs stop is located near the Town Center entrance.

Transportation and Ticket Center & Monorail Service at Disney World

Disney Transportation Map

With over 150,000 daily riders, the  Disney World monorail  is one of the world’s most heavily used monorail systems. There are three monorail lines at Disney, all originating from the  Transportation and Ticket Center  (TTC). The Disney World Transportation Map lists them all. Monorail service is free for Resort guests and non-guests.

The “ Resort ” monorail line loops between Magic Kingdom and the TTC, making stops at the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary Resorts.

The “ Express ” monorail bypasses the resorts and travels directly between the TTC and Magic Kingdom.

The “ Epcot ” monorail line provides service between the TTC and Epcot.

Guests staying at the Boardwalk-area resorts can either walk or take a ferry boat to Epcot and Hollywood Studios and buses to other theme parks and water parks.

Guests of other  Disney World Deluxe resorts  will use bus transportation to get to their theme park destination.

*see below for resort-specific transportation options

Transportation from Value and Moderate Disney Resorts to the Theme Parks

Guests staying at Value and Moderate resorts will  not  have access to either boats or monorail but  do  have access to buses that go directly to each theme park. Walking directly to a nearby park from your hotel may even be possible. For guests staying at Fort Wilderness, Disney offers a free shuttle service around the resort, making internal loops to take guests to different areas of the gigantic campground.

Transportation Between Resorts

Taking the free Disney transportation between parks can be confusing to the uninitiated. We recommend that you head to the nearest theme park and hop on a bus, monorail, or ferry to your destination. You may also find that heading to Disney Springs and catching a bus from there is an easy option. If time is of major concern, the quickest way to travel between resorts is by taxi/Uber/Lyft. This should cost you in the $10-$15 range, but the time you save may be worth the added expense.

Transportation from Disney Springs

Disney Springs  provides free parking throughout the day. While this may sound tempting to guests with cars, be warned that there is no direct transportation to the theme parks from Disney Springs. You can certainly take a bus or water taxi to other transportation hubs and find connecting services to the parks from there. Just be aware that transportation originating from Disney Springs will take longer than from other locations within Disney World. On a positive note, one-way service from the parks to Disney Springs  is  provided after 4 pm.

Transportation from Disney Deluxe Resorts

Animal Kingdom Lodge – Disney World Transportation Map

That said, you will find buses that service all Disney World theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. As you exit the main lobby, the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus station is on the left. • Disney Springs –   Bus (operates from 9 a.m. – 2 a.m.).

Pop Century Resort – Disney World Transportation Map

Art of Animation Resort – Disney World Transportation Map

The Art of Animation Resort is themed around Disney animated classics like Finding Nemo and The Lion King. This resort has one bus stop with transportation to every theme, water park, and Disney Springs. The bus stop is located in front of Animation Hall.

Disney Skyliner

disney skyliner

Disney Skyliner is the newest Walt Disney World Resort transportation feature. The gondola lift system launched on September 29, 2019, and is now in full swing.

The Disney Skyliner  has 3 routes that connect to resorts and theme parks.

The lines for the Disney Skyliner are hubbed from a central station at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. There are 5 stations in total.

The 3 Disney Skyliner routes are as follows:

Disney Skyliner Map

 Epcot Line

Route: Caribbean Beach – Riviera – Epcot

The Epcot Line is the longest of the 3 Disney Skyliner lines. The duration between Caribbean Beach and Riviera takes approximately three minutes, and the duration between Riviera and Epcot takes approximately six minutes.

Hollywood Studios Line

Route: Caribbean Beach – Hollywood Studios

The ride time for a one-way trip between Caribbean Beach and Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park is 5 minutes.

Art of Animation and Pop Century Line

Route: Caribbean Beach – Art of Animation – Pop Century

The Art of Animation and Pop Century Line is the shortest route of the three. The ride time for a one-way trip on the Art of Animation route takes approximately 4 minutes.

Disney Minnie Vans, Uber, Lyft, and Taxi Service

For those of you who don’t mind spending the extra money to get better service, then Walt Disney World has a few options for you. Guests can opt for the convenience and playfulness of the Disney Minnie Vans service or the standard on-demand ride services of Lyft and Uber. And yes, there are still plenty of old-school taxis within the park as well. Any of these options will improve your comfort level and save you time.

Disney Minnie Vans

Disney Minnie Vans is Walt Disney World’s on-demand ride service. These vehicles operate daily from 6:30 am to 12:30 am and are available to anyone within the park.

Although Disney has partnered with Lyft on this service,  Disney Minnie Vans  are actually operated by Disney and driven by Disney Cast Members (Disney employees). To schedule a Disney Minnie Van, you simply open the standard Lyft app and call for a pickup as you would for a normal Lyft ride.

As far as the vehicles go, the vans are more like midsize SUVs. They are painted red with white polka dots (a la Minnie Mouse). Each vehicle will hold six passengers and carry two adjustable car seats for children.

The cost of Minnie Vans is much higher than a taxi, Uber, and standard Lyft rides. Be aware the Guests can only be picked up in designated pickup zones and not from sidewalks or non-designated areas. Minnie Vans are able to drop you off directly at the Magic Kingdom or next to Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness or anywhere else you wish to go.

Disney Minnie Vans are a good option if you don’t mind paying for comfort and point-to-point convenience.

Lyft and Uber

On-demand Lyft and Uber services are available throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

While cheaper than Minnie Vans and regular taxi services, be aware that “surge pricing” is in effect during periods of high demand. Prices for Lyft and Uber could potentially exceed taxi rates during this time. But, for the most part, Lyft and Uber will be the cheapest transportation option (other than the free Disney Transportation options listed above).

Using an on-demand ride service like Uber and Lyft is fairly straightforward. Just download one of the apps and use it on your Android or iPhone. Remember to stay put once you call for the car, so there is no confusion as you meet your driver.

Taxis are located throughout Walt Disney World Resort and use different brand names (Yellow Cab, City, Checker, or Safety). However, all the taxis are yellow, and all are operated by Mears Transportation (a company that has an official relationship with Disney). We recommend that you use the yellow cabs (sedans and vans) with meters, lest you pay more than you have to.

Call (407) 699-9999 to schedule a pickup, or have your hotel’s front desk call over to a Yellow Cab or taxi to wait for you.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Review (Is it worth it?)

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is one of the most beautiful and convenient hotels in all of Walt Disney World. With its classy design, enormous pool, and prime location, it’s easy to see why the Yacht Club at Disney World is such a highly sought after place to stay.

My family and I have visited numerous hotels on Disney property, but the Yacht Club always keeps us coming back for more. We love the close proximity to Disney’s Boardwalk, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

The multiple transportation options are a huge plus, especially for those who don’t like to solely rely on Disney buses. And of course we have to mention the Yacht Club’s pool, Stormalong Bay. This elaborate resort swimming area is arguably the best pool at the Walt Disney World Resort!

If you’re still not quite sold on the Yacht Club at Disney World or if you would like more information, continue reading below. In this post, we will cover everything you need to know about this deluxe Disney resort , including the activities, restaurants, and rooms available at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

(This post may contain affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may receive a small compensation at no extra cost to you. Please see my disclosure policy at the bottom of this page for more details.)

Yacht Club Restaurants

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is full of all different types of restaurants. Since this hotel shares dining options with its sister resorts, you’ll find even more places to eat within a short walk of your room.

blue walls and club chairs with sign reading Ale and Compass Lounge

These are the Yacht Club restaurants you will find just a short stroll away:

  • Ale and Compass – sit-down restaurant in the Yacht Club that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner (also available to-go)
  • The Market at Ale and Compass – quick service restaurant at Yacht Club with to-go items and menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Yachtsman Steakhouse – fine dining restaurant at the Yacht Club that is open for dinner
  • Crew’s Cup Lounge – bar at the Yacht Club that features a small dinner menu and full bar
  • Cape May Cafe – offers a character meal breakfast buffet and sit-down dinner with no characters
  • Beach Club Marketplace – features to-go items and menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Beaches and Cream – available for lunch and dinner with reservations highly recommended
  • Martha’s Vineyard – offers appetizers and full bar
  • Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill – pool restaurant with full bar and lunch/dinner options

Furthermore, the Yacht Club is located just a short walk away from Disney’s Boardwalk , where you’ll find additional restaurants and bars.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is home to the most popular pool on Disney property. It’s such a hit that you’ll find cast members handing out wristbands at the entrance so that only hotel guests can enter.

pirate ship water slide

The main pool, Stormalong Bay, features a large sand bottom swimming area that’s super shallow and great for toddlers and little kids. There’s also a lazy river that’s a fan favorite in my household.

Guests can also enjoy other large swimming areas at Stormalong Bay, including an activities section where you’ll find games like pool volleyball. Stormalong Bay offers a large waterslide as well as a smaller slide that empties into a shallow pool.

empty pool and clubhouse at Yacht Club

In addition to Stormalong Bay, the Yacht Club in Disney World features a “quiet” pool that is seldom busy. This is a great spot to relax or swim laps.

Rooms

My family and I love the nautical decor and ambience of the Yacht Club guest rooms. Additionally, we appreciate that the rooms offer full balconies. In our post on Disney’s Beach Club vs Yacht Club , you’ll read about why these balconies are a major pro for Yacht Club compared to its sister resort.

toilet room, shower, and vanity and Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club features standard rooms and club level rooms. If you book a room with Club Level benefits, you get access to the Regatta Club. Here, you’ll find food and beverages offered at certain times throughout the day.

2 Queen beds and day bed at Yacht Club

Guest rooms at the Yacht Club come with views of the lake, pool, garden, or hotel rooftop/parking lot. These rooms typically feature 1 king bed or 2 queens. Some of them also offer a daybed. This means that if you book a room with 2 queens plus a daybed, you can sleep a family of five!

Prices at Yacht Club

Since Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is classified as a deluxe hotel at Disney World, you’ll notice that the prices are higher than at some of the other hotels. This is because the Yacht Club offers deluxe room space, extra amenities, and a prime location.

We will explain all the significance of all of these perks in more detail below, but it’s important to note that Disney’s Yacht Club truly offers a deluxe experience. The updated guest rooms feature plenty of space, including private balconies. Plus, the hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of other Disney hotels, restaurants, theme parks, and more.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort

If you would really like to experience the location, amenities, and entertainment at the Yacht Club without the hefty price tag, we suggest booking a room at the sister hotel through David’s Vacation Club Rentals. You will be blown away by the cost savings on David’s DVC rental site! We usually save hundreds of dollars per night by using this method to book a room at a deluxe resort.

Just use the cost calculator to see exactly how much a room costs at Yacht Club’s sister resort, Disney’s Beach Club Villas. These villas are located just a short walk away from the Yacht Club hotel, and they both share restaurants, pools, and activities. While you can reserve one of the villas on the official Disney website, we prefer to book through David’s DVC rental website . We have used this reputable company for years to rent timeshare points at Disney villas.

Things to Do at Disney’s Yacht Club

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits on the same property as two sister resorts: Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Villas. These three hotels share restaurants, activities, amenities, and entertainment options with each other.

One of my family’s favorite things about the Yacht Club is that you don’t need to leave the property to have fun. So, if you’re looking for activities at Disney outside of the theme parks, the Yacht Club offers lots of great options. These are our favorite things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort when enjoying a relaxing day at Disney:

See Epcot Fireworks

We recommend walking to the bridge that connects the Disney Boardwalk to the Yacht and Beach Club Resort to enjoy the nightly Epcot fireworks show. You can even grab some ice cream to enjoy during the presentation.

Take a Ride on the Skyliner

Since the Disney Skyliner sits just outside of Epcot’s International Gateway entrance, you can easily access it from the Yacht Club Resort. Just take the short (less than ten minutes) walk toward Epcot and hop on the Skyliner for free!

Book a fishing excursion on Crescent Lake for a truly unique experience while staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

Eat Ice Cream

Disney’s Yacht Club is home to one of our favorite WDW restaurants, Beaches and Cream . While reservations can be difficult to snag at this popular dining spot, you can access the walk-up window to order shakes and ice cream to-go.

Dine with Characters

Check out Cape May Cafe during breakfast/brunch when it becomes Minnie’s Beach Bash. Guests can meet Goofy, Minnie, and Donald while they dine at the breakfast buffet.

Float along the Lazy River

The Beach Club’s main pool, Stormalong Bay, offers many fun features. One of our favorite things to do at the pool is to grab (free) tubes to float along the lazy river.

Play Games in the Arcade

Lafferty Place Arcade offers lots of fun games for kids and adults to enjoy. This is a particularly great place to spend time at Disney World when it’s raining.

Ride the Friendship Boats

The Disney water taxi picks up visitors near the Yacht Club. You can ride this free boat to the Disney Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin Resorts, Epcot entrance, and Hollywood Studios entrance.

Build Sandcastles

Did you know that Stormalong Bay features a shallow, sand bottom pool and beach area? Kids love digging in the sand and splashing around in this section of the pool.

Make S’mores

Visit the nightly campfire to roast marshmallows during your visit. You can even purchase S’mores Kits for a few dollars.

Rent a Boat

Spend time on Crescent Lake on your own private pontoon boat. Guests can rent boats from the marina near the Yacht Club.

Disney’s Yacht Club offers a large fitness center for guests to use during their stay. Ship Shape Health Club is even open 24 hours a day, so you can squeeze in a workout at any time.

Stroll along the Disney Boardwalk

The Disney Boardwalk is full of amazing activities and entertainment options and is just a short walk away from the Yacht Club.

Play Volleyball

As you walk along the boardwalk in front of the Beach Club, you’ll notice a sand volleyball court. This is a great spot to pick up a game with friends or family. You can also often join a game of volleyball at Stormalong Bay Pool.

Enjoy an Evening Movie

Each evening, Disney Yacht Club guests can watch a movie under the stars. These family friendly movies are a great way to unwind after a long day.

Play Mini Golf

Stroll over to Fantasia Gardens and Miniature Golf Course where you’ll find two 18-hole courses. This fun spot is located near the Dolphin and Swan Resorts.

Swim Some Laps

If you’re looking for a quieter poolside experience to swim laps or relax, check out the leisure pool at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. You’ll also have access to the quiet pools at Beach Club and Beach Club Villas.

If you’re not into running or jogging on vacation, you can spend time strolling along the jogging paths at the Yacht Club. You’ll find lots of great spots to take pictures and may even catch some surprises along the way.

Join a Kid Friendly Party at the Pool

Each afternoon, Stormalong Bay hosts fun poolside activities like hula hoop competitions and limbo.

Play Tennis

Guests can find tennis courts near the Yacht Club’s quiet pool.

Zoom Down Waterslides

Stormalong Bay features two separate water slides for guests to enjoy. The main waterslide stretches from the pirate ship and across the Beach Club boardwalk to the main pool.

You’ll also find a smaller slide that’s perfect for toddlers and small kids at the entrance to the main water slide.

Book a Fireworks Cruise

Take in the sights and sounds of the Epcot fireworks show from your pontoon boat on Crescent Lake.

Transportation

As mentioned above, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort sits in a prime location in the center of all the magic at WDW. If you’re planning to visit one of the theme parks, you’ll be happy to know that several of them are just a super short walk or ride away.

hotel lobby with seating areas

These are our preferred ways to get from Disney’s Yacht Club to other places in Walt Disney World:

  • To Magic Kingdom – You can access the Disney buses in front of the hotel. The ride to Magic Kingdom should take 15-20 minutes.
  • To Epcot – Exit the back of Yacht Club (toward Crescent Lake) and turn left. Epcot sits just under a ten minute walk away!
  • To Hollywood Studios – You have several options for getting to Hollywood Studios. We find the quickest option *usually* is walking. Hollywood Studios sits just a 15 minute walk away from the Yacht Club. You can also ride a Friendship Boat to Hollywood Studios. However, by the time you wait on the boat to make stops, this method can take longer than walking. You could also walk toward Epcot to catch the Disney Skyliner. With this method, you should be able to reach Hollywood Studios in around 25 minutes.
  • To Animal Kingdom – You can hop on one of the Disney buses to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This is roughly a ten-minute ride.
  • To Disney’s Boardwalk – You can make the five-minute walk around Crescent Lake to easily reach the Disney Boardwalk. Guests can also take the Friendship Boat from the Yacht Club lighthouse and ride across the lake to the Boardwalk.
  • To Disney Springs – You can take a bus to Disney Springs, which typically takes 15-20 minutes.

Is Disney’s Yacht Club Worth It?

Since Disney’s Yacht Club may be my personal favorite resort in all of WDW , I would definitely say it’s worth the cost! I love the classy guest rooms and bathrooms with their nautical decor.

The lobby seems to be quieter and calmer than that at other resorts, and the cast members are super friendly and helpful. My family and I enjoy the food at all the restaurants on site, and we appreciate the ability to easily walk from the Yacht Club to the Beach Club’s dining options.

pin for Disney's Yacht Club Resort

The close proximity to Epcot makes the Yacht Club an ideal place to stay since there’s no rush to get to the park in the morning or back “home” at the end of a long day. Plus, you enter and exit through the International Gateway entrance to Epcot (near World Showcase), so the lines to enter are basically nonexistent.

Additionally, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is just a short walk, boat ride, or Skyliner ride away. And if you feel like venturing out, you can take the scenic stroll around Crescent Lake to the Disney Boardwalk.

Transportation Options at Disney’s Beach Club (What You Need to Know)

When it comes to transportation options at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, you’ll find more than a few! Below, we’ll discuss how to get from Disney’s Beach Club to the theme parks, Disney Springs, water parks, popular destinations, and more.

You can use any of the links to get to a specific section more quickly:

  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Epcot
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Animal Kingdom
  • How to Get from Disney’s Beach Club to Disney Springs

Often, I’ve found myself waiting for a bus at Disney’s Beach Club. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen other guests sitting there waiting like me. Only, they are waiting for a bus that’s not coming.

For example, one morning, we were at the bus stop bright and early. A large family who were in a hurry to get to breakfast at Akershus arrived. After a few moments of waiting, they began asking if anyone knew how to get to Akershus once they got to the park.

Since they asked, I intervened and explained that they first needed to exit the bus stop and walk back to the resort. Then, I continued with the rest of the directions. (You can walk to Epcot from the Beach Club. There isn’t a bus.)

The saying, “If you don’t know, you don’t know,” has become common in my life.

We can all agree that there are many things that many of us don’t know. However, I know a lot about getting around Disney’s Beach Club from practice.

Therefore, I thought we would go over the basics for using the transportation options at Disney’s Beach Club. Hopefully, these tips will help you efficiently navigate the area.

entrance to Disney's Beach Club where you'll walk to Epcot

Transportation Options at Disney’s Beach Club

The following modes of transportation are available at Disney’s Beach Club:

  • Friendship Boats
  • Disney Bus Service
  • (The Skyliner is within walking distance.)

Below, we’ll look at the best ways to get to and from Disneys Beach Club, including the most direct routes. Here are a few of the routes we’ll look at below:

  • How to get from the Beach Club to Epcot
  • Traveling from the Beach Club to Hollywood Studios
  • The Best Way to get from Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom
  • How to get to Disney’s Animal Kingdom from the Beach Club
  • Getting to Disney Springs from the Beach Club

Additionally, I’ll share a few tips for traveling from the Beach Club to other popular destinations. Some of those destinations include the water parks, Disney’s Boardwalk, and resorts in the Magic Kingdom area .

How to Get to Epcot from Disney’s Beach Club

Location is often the primary reason guests stay at Disney’s Beach Club. It takes approximately five minutes to walk between the Beach Club and Epcot.

Of course, that walk depends on how fast or slow you walk and which exit you use when leaving the resort. But most will come and go from the resort lobby.

exiting the lobby to walk from Beach Club to Epcot

First, exit the Beach Club and walk out to the pathway along Crescent Lake. Then, you’ll take a left and walk straight to Epcot’s International Gateway , Epcot’s back entrance. You’ll have a beautiful view of Disney’s Boardwalk across the lake.

view of Crescent Lake when walking to Epcot

It’s much easier to enter the park at the International Gateway than the front entrance. However, it is crowded here at certain times, especially at rope drop first thing in the morning.

Guests who use this secondary entrance are visiting from the surrounding Epcot Resorts and Skyliner Resorts . Meanwhile, guests of the other Walt Disney World Resorts and off-property guests enter via the park’s front entrance.

So, there is a significant difference in crowds between the two entrances. For reference, Epcot is the only park with multiple entrances.

If you prefer not to walk to Epcot, you can take Disney’s Friendship Boat service from the Yacht Club’s dock to Epcot. However, this route is significantly longer and requires an additional stop.

Exiting the Beach Club, you’ll take a right on the walkway and head to the lighthouse. I haven’t timed it exactly, but there isn’t much difference between walking to the boat dock versus walking to Epcot.

Once you reach the lighthouse, you’ll board the boat on the left-hand side of the dock. This boat then travels across the lake to Disney’s Boardwalk, where it will load and unload before moving on to Epcot.

boat dock

Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios

You can get to and from Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios via the Friendship Boat Service or walk. However, the walk to Hollywood Studios might be considerably long for some.

It takes approximately 17 minutes to walk from Disney’s Beach Club to Hollywood Studios at an average pace. When you leave Beach Club, you’ll take a right on the pathway along Crescent Lake.

Then, you’ll head toward Disney’s Swan and Dolphin. At the center of the bridge, you’ll take a slight left toward Hollywood Studios. (If you take a hard left, you’ll end up at Disney’s Boardwalk. However, this will be pretty obvious.)

We have a separate article detailing walking between the two parks if you want to learn more: Walking Between Hollywood Studios and Epcot .

Sign shows directional for walking from Beach Club to Hollywood Studios.

Walking is one of the nicest ways to decompress after leaving the parks. Or you can always stretch your legs in preparation for the day first thing in the morning.

However, given the long walk, most guests prefer to take the Friendship Boats to Hollywood Studios. Even I take them from time to time when it’s miserably hot.

So when you leave Beach Club, you’ll walk to the boat dock at the lighthouse. Those going to Hollywood Studios will board on the right-hand side of the dock.

After boarding, you’ll stop at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin before heading to Hollywood Studios. While the boat ride to Hollywood Studios is usually quicker than walking, waiting for the next boat’s arrival can take time. Additionally, you’ll have to make that extra hotel stop on the way.

Friendship Boat picking up guests from Disney's Beach Club

Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom

You’ll leave the resort’s front entrance when heading to Magic Kingdom from Disney’s Beach Club. From there, you’ll stay to the left and enter this covered walkway leading to the bus stop at Disney’s Beach Club.

walkway from the lobby to the resort bus stop at Disney's Beach Club

Signage is available that indicates where the buses travel. You might also note that the sign mentions you’ll need to take boats or use the walkways to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Sign reads Disney's Beach Club bus to Magic Kingdom and lists other destinations.

Bus transportation is shared with Disney’s Yacht Club. It stops at the Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Magic Kingdom. So, on the way back, the bus will stop at Yacht Club before the Beach Club.

Since the resorts are connected, you can exit at Yacht Club and take the back walkway by Stormalong Bay . It’s a pleasant walk and often nice to get off a crowded bus. But if you’re exhausted, you’ll likely want to wait for the Beach Club. It will only take a few more minutes to get there.

Disney’s Beach Club to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

You’ll also catch a bus from Disney’s Beach Club to the theme park when visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It takes approximately 10 minutes to travel between the resort and the theme park.

Disney’s Beach Club to Disney Springs

You will also take a bus from Disney’s Beach Club to Disney Springs. Often, this route is shared between all three of the Epcot Resorts. It is not uncommon for the bus to stop at Disney’s Yacht Club, Beach Club, and then Disney’s Boardwalk Inn before heading to Disney Springs.

Thankfully, the route is short, and the stops are typically quick. I always feel like it’s usually not a big deal if you expect the stop and a few extra minutes. But if you don’t know the bus makes extra stops, it can feel like it’s taking forever.

If you’re visiting over Christmas, Easter, or some other frightfully busy time of year, you probably won’t make extra stops at the Boardwalk. However, throughout the slower times of the day, the buses are almost always shared between Yacht and Beach Club.

Wait Times and Bus Hours for Disney’s Beach Club

Per Disney, “ Bus service between Disney Resort Hotels and Disney Theme Parks  begins 45 minutes prior to opening and ends one hour after closing.” That time includes extended theme park hours in the morning for resort guests and extended evening hours for deluxe resort guests.

Wait times are posted at the bus stop. These times are transmitted from the bus, so they are accurate. From time to time, you will see the time fluctuate. That happens when a bus is delayed. For example, they might stop at a traffic light.

Accessibility at Disney’s Beach Club

Most transportation options at Disney’s Beach Club accommodate guests with accessibility needs. Disney provides an overview of each form of transportation on their website.

All bus stops have a separate spot for guests in wheelchairs and ECVs to wait. Additionally, the Friendship Boats accommodate most wheelchairs and ECVs.

Disney has an excellent resource on their site if you want to learn more:  Transportation and Mobility Disabilities at Disney World

More Transportation Tips for Disney’s Beach Club

One of the things we’ve yet to discuss is how to get to Disney’s Water Parks from the Beach Club Resort. Most of the time, you’ll have to take a bus from the resort to another location. Then, you’ll transfer to another bus to the water park.

For Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll take a bus to Disney Springs. From there, you’ll board a bus that travels across the street to the water park.

You’ll take a bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Blizzard Beach. There, you’ll board another bus that travels directly to Blizzard Beach.

I think it’s fairly easy to get to the water parks. However, by the end of the day, it feels like a hassle to return to the resort.

We almost always drive our car to the water park so we can come and go at our leisure. You might consider taking the bus on your way and ordering a Minnie Van or a car service on the way back.

I mention this because you’ll get dropped off at the main bus stop at Disney Springs. Then, you’ll have to walk to the pick-up area and find the return bus stop to Disney’s Beach Club.

I don’t know about you, but I carry more to the water parks than to the regular parks. So I hate to tote all my belongings, including wet swimsuits, back to the bus stop.

Tip: Bring a pair of dry clothes to change into after you leave. When you return to the resort, you do not want to be in damp clothes on a bus with the air-conditioning turned up full-blast.

Beach Club to Disney’s Boardwalk

Those staying at Disney’s Beach Club will likely visit Disney’s Boardwalk at least once during their vacation. You’ll have two options for getting to the Boardwalk.

First, you can walk. It takes about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. Or you can take the Friendship Boat (on the Epcot side) over and exit at the Boardwalk. This will only take a few minutes, plus however long you have to wait for the boat.

Disney's Boardwalk as seen from Disney's Beach Club

Disney’s Beach Club to the Monorail Resorts

Additionally, most guests will want to visit the monorail resorts for dining or touring. There are several ways you can do this from the Beach Club.

Personally, I would take a bus from Disney’s Beach Club to Magic Kingdom. From there, you will have to walk through security at Magic Kingdom. Then you can walk, boat, or monorail to the following resorts:

  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (walk, boat, monorail)
  • Disney’s Polynesian Resort (boat, monorail, technically can walk via the Grand Floridian walkway to Magic Kingdom)
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort (walk or monorail)
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (boat)

Alternatively, you can walk or boat to Hollywood Studios from the Beach Club. After you get to Hollywood Studios, you can catch a bus to any of the Magic Kingdom Resorts .

Using the Skyliner When Staying at Disney’s Beach Club

Lastly, I wanted to share a few tips for using the Skyliner during your stay at Disney’s Beach Club. Skyliner stations are available at Epcot’s International Gateway and Hollywood Studios.

For example, if you want to take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios, you can do so. However, it won’t be any quicker than the Friendship Boats. This is something you would do more for leisure than convenience.

The Skyliner travels in this direction:

  • Epcot’s International Gateway (Sits outside the park entrance.)
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort (You are not required to exit here.)
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (Everyone must exit here.)
  • Then get in line for Hollywood Studios. (Or get in line for Art of Animation and Pop Century)

All guests must exit at Hollywood Studios. From there, you can turn around and travel back in the opposite direction if desired.

Final Thoughts on Transportation at Disney’s Beach Club

Hopefully, this article provided a few tips for using transportation on your Walt Disney World vacation . Understandably, Disney is a large place.

While getting around the property isn’t necessarily challenging, it is often frustrating not knowing the best way to do it. And when you stay somewhere as convenient as Disney’s Beach Club, you certainly want to know how to take advantage of the prime location.

Ranking Disney World Deluxe Resorts From Completely CHILL To Completely CHAOTIC

By Myranda Juarez 2 Comments

If you’ve yet to visit the Disney World hotels you’re considering for your next trip , how do you know you’re making the right decision for you and your family? Think about it for a moment. Comparing hotels solely by a short online description and a few stock photos can make you feel like you’ve made the right choice based on a smidge of idyllic information provided, but that scenario has led to a disaster of a time over and over again. Plenty of our readers have written in to tell us that once they arrived for their vacation, it was NOTHING like what they expected and they wish they had more experience built into their decision.

disney yacht club shuttle

Wilderness Lodge

Some folks were looking for a lively atmosphere with lots of activities around only to be met with the polar opposite of their expectations. Others walked into total chaos of loud transportation and ginormous crowds which was definitely not what they anticipated when they opted to spend thousands of dollars on their trip. That’s where we’re ready to step in and help — you see, we’ve actually stayed at ALL of the Disney World hotels, and let’s just say, we’ve got thoughts!

Disney World takes pride in its extensive choices of deluxe category hotels which can include certain amenities like multiple transportation options to the Disney World parks and Disney Springs, table service dining options in addition to grab and go or quick service restaurants, spas, live entertainment, incredible pools, and even closer proximity to the theme parks. So it’s important to know where each of these Disney World deluxe hotels rank on a scale of totally chill vibes to absolute chaos depending on how you envision your vacation. Since we know them so well, we asked our team here at DFB to rank these hotels using the same criteria, and here’s what we decided!

Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve

We’re just going to come out and say what you’re thinking — yes, these hotels DO exist at Disney World; they’re not a myth. They’re kind of our favorite hidden gems of hotels and that helps aid in their totally chill vibes.

disney yacht club shuttle

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin

You’ll find three different options between each of them and they’re the only hotels on Disney World property where you earn (or spend!) Marriott Bonvoy points with your stay (hidden perks all around)! Each of these hotels’ rooms is pretty swanky — they typically have a little more room, and have a more posh, luxurious feel to them.

disney yacht club shuttle

Swan Resort lobby

It’s a true added bonus that they’re the first ones we’re ready to snatch up when we’re visiting for our favorite EPCOT festivals, AND they’re afforded lots of the same perks as the main Disney World deluxe hotels. They even have their own food and wine festival that happens in the fall each year — which tends to pack a lively crowd with their unlimited food and beverage tickets!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

Our entire team jumped at the chance to rank this hotel as one of the MOST chill in all of Disney World’s deluxe hotels — Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

disney yacht club shuttle

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Here it’s easy to get swept away in their easygoing pace, wake up to animals roaming the savanna, breeze by for a snack or meal at your leisure, and even jump into some fun activities where you might accidentally be learning about the animals who live at the hotel at the same time. It feels like no one is in a rush to be here and it’s easy to forget you’re actually at Disney World and NOT in an African hotel about to set out on a leisurely safari. (Bonus points to you if you’ve booked the Club Level rooms that include food and snacks for a more “all-inclusive” vibe).

disney yacht club shuttle

Kidani Village lobby

Yep, the only thing we could find less chill about this hotel is that it’s so massive between its two buildings (Jambo House and Kidani Village) that there’s an internal shuttle bus running between the two intermittently. Between them, you’ll find different restaurants, more safari sights to behold, and even separate pools to explore!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

This next hotel is also one of the most chill, and it’s easy to see why. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is inspired by national parks and natural landmarks that can be experienced when you travel out west.

disney yacht club shuttle

Here your main building is modeled after a log cabin exterior with incredibly detailed woodwork, vaulted ceilings, and hidden details in its corner fireplace. And, with a short walk over to the Boulder Ridge building, you can even catch a glimpse of some of Walt’s prized train sets from his personal collection.

disney yacht club shuttle

When you’re here don’t miss your chance to see the geyser go off throughout the day, l0unge around the leisure pool, and take in a quick bite at some of our favorite restaurants. But even with as chill as it looks, we’ve got to warn you about one thing! This hotel loses chill points because it is home to Whispering Canyon Cafe which could be quite the rootin’ tootin’ time if you’re not familiar with their dry humor, and rowdy atmosphere (stick pony rides included).

Disney’s Riviera Resort

Take in all the Italian and French influence you could put into a creative mind, and Disney Imagineers turned out the stunning Disney’s Riviera Resort! As the newest Disney World hotel, it’s one that you’re probably scrambling to try out for yourself, and we can’t blame you.

disney yacht club shuttle

Riviera Resort

It’s a smaller hotel with a variety of room sizes —  making it an ideal option for truly anyone who’s looking for a relaxed, low-key vibe. The views from the tower are gorgeous, there are incredible restaurants right there on site, and you’ve got one of the quickest transportation options in the Disney Skyliner right at your door.

disney yacht club shuttle

Here’s where chaos can take a turn — and it’s really got nothing to do with the hotel itself. This hotel is backed up to one of Disney World’s largest moderate hotels — Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Not only will you be banking to take the Disney Skyliner transportation in the morning and late evening when your feet are tired and achy, but so will hundreds of other folks too! Their hotel is knocking at your hotel’s doorstep when you stay here, so you’ll want to allow for plenty of travel time just in case.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Disney’s Old Key West Resort certainly fits the bill for a chill Disney World hotel. It’s a MASSIVE property and is the first of its kind designed to be a long-term stay for those visiting Disney World with Disney Vacation Club.

disney yacht club shuttle

Old Key West

It’s also home to one of Disney World’s resident golf courses, boat transportation floating down the river to and from Disney Springs for added convenience, and almost feels like a little town of its own. A lot of the rooms here are built for groups including multigenerational stays which can add a lot of value for those who are ok with finding a healthy compromise for staying somewhere that will appeal to all ages.

disney yacht club shuttle

Old Key West Resort | Deluxe Studio Room.

The only place you’re going to run into a bit of chaos is that transportation can be a bit frustrating. Since the hotel’s property is so large, there’s an internal shuttle that runs intermittently around sections of the hotel and to the front check-in building named Hospitality House. Additionally, the quick service restaurant here only provides for outdoor seating, otherwise, your dining option outside of cooking in your room’s kitchen is Olivia’s Cafe — also located at the front building.

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

This next hotel is another large whopper that ranks in between chill and kinda chaos-y ! Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort neighbors Disney’s Old Key West Resort and they both share a similar vibe. This hotel also is home to a huge Disney World golf course and is pretty expansive! It’s also themed like the Saratoga Springs horse race track in New York, so you’re bound to see some beautiful statues, portraits, motifs, and general nods throughout the entire hotel’s design and decor.

disney yacht club shuttle

Saratoga Springs

But again, the chaos here starts with the same transportation woes just like at its neighboring hotel. The internal shuttle will bring you around the hotel sections and front building just like at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, but you’ll probably either end up cooking, headed to Disney Springs for dinner (depending on where your room is located to the main building), or eating meals in the theme parks.

disney yacht club shuttle

There’s also another piece of chaos to throw into the decision here and it’s that Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is home to the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) preview center. This means folks will be stopping by from time to time to preview some of Disney World’s newest hotel room mock-ups, talk to guides about purchasing into the program or adding on to their existing memberships.

disney yacht club shuttle

Treehouse Villas

If you’re not a fan of groups of people coming in and out around this area of the hotel throughout the day, then this might not be the hotel for you.

Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts

We’ve finally made it to the middle of the range in our chill to chaos ranking — are you still with us? GOOD! So, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts are where you want to be if you’re someone who’s looking for a healthy mix of both! These sister hotels share a building with Disney’s Yacht Club toward the side outstretched by those chill Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve hotels and Disney’s Beach Club outstretched closest to the International Gateway of EPCOT.

disney yacht club shuttle

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

This hotel gets major chill points for being able to share the arguably best pool on Disney World property, Stormalong Bay which is themed like a shipwrecked pirate ship complete with a mast slide, sand bottom pool, and beach area where you can make (and totally wreck) sandcastles AND a lazy river!

disney yacht club shuttle

Stormalong Bay

If you like the inside theming and decor of the hotel’s lobby and halls, you’ll swoon over the stunning interior of the hotel rooms!

disney yacht club shuttle

The food here is great too, with lots to choose from between grab and go, quick service, full table service restaurants, and (by far our favorite pick) LOUNGES!

disney yacht club shuttle

But where it gets a little chaotic is everyone wants to be here — seriously! The hotel takes this so seriously that you need to scan your Magicband or room key to verify you’re a hotel guest of these two hotels just to enter the gate and swim. The activities here can get a little louder in the day with a rockin’ pool party, and since it’s close to EPCOT, it’s going to offer a decent view of the nighttime spectacular, Luminous: The Symphony Of Us which could disrupt you if you’re an early sleeper.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Aloha, you’ve reached Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on our ranking! This hotel is heavily influenced by Polynesian architecture, culture, and food and ranks high on our list of favorite hotels pretty consistently. But, that’s because it knows how to have a relaxed time without taking itself so seriously.

disney yacht club shuttle

While there’s a true Hawaiian spirit that flows through the walls of this hotel and extends to its array of outdoor activities and beach areas, this hotel can get pretty chaotic because it’s easily crowded! Its proximity to Magic Kingdom, its tasty dishes at its various restaurants, and its rambunctious bar grotto make it an easy target for folks to swing by to explore the hotel.

Polynesian Resort

While the amenities of the hotel are just for hotel guests to enjoy, the beach area is typically inviting to anyone who wants to view Magic Kingdom’s fireworks from its shores (unless there’s a special event happening that prevents this). This can lead to some crowds if you’re not early to grab a spot and if you want to do dinner from its resident ‘Ohana restaurant, you’ll want to make sure to grab those reservations early because its two meals are typically harder to get into the later you wait.

disney yacht club shuttle

This sometimes leads to folks stopping by to see about other people canceling on short notice for a chance to get themselves in or to see if there’s a waitlist option available.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

This next hotel really wants to be fancy and uptight, but we know it better than it does itself! Try as it might, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa might be our hidden party hotel at Disney World. If you’re finding yourself shocked at that statement, allow us to back up this argument a bit.

disney yacht club shuttle

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Sure, its incredible Victorian appeal has won over the hearts of many (including ours) over the decades of this proud hotel’s history, but she’s certainly no prude! That’s right — Disney’s Grand Floridian KNOWS how to party with flair and you’ll frequently catch live entertainment in its lobby, bustling interactive character meals at 1900 Park Fare, and stunning views of Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks!

disney yacht club shuttle

If you’re someone who needs a little bit of both worlds to have the best vacation ever, this hotel is begging you to call it home!

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort

Maybe you’re not totally down for a party during the day, but what if the nighttime is a different story? Then, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort could be the best choice for you!

disney yacht club shuttle

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

This entire hotel is beautiful and inspired by the turn of the century look to the Atlantic Boardwalk but we mean this quite literally as you get a FULL boardwalk! This one kicks the chaos meter up a bit because it’s transformed at night from this quiet relaxed hotel to a romping party happening right outside your room!

disney yacht club shuttle

BoardWalk games

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort is a popular nighttime stop for those looking for something to see and do as they wind down their evening with midway games for prizes, and live performances, and is just steps away from a dueling piano bar AND dance hall! You won’t get more spirited than here!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

If you’re shocked that Disney’s Contemporary Resort ranks the most chaotic on our list, you’ve probably never stayed here before. On paper, it’s an interesting concept for a contemporary-styled hotel complete with lots of amenities including a short walk over to Magic Kingdom or transportation by monorail. Its A-frame exterior and clean, sleek, design to its recently refurbished rooms give it an edgy and modern feel.

disney yacht club shuttle

But, there’s chaos hidden within its walls and, according to our team here at DFB, the absolute highest of them all! The interesting design and wow factor of seeing the monorail quickly subsides once you’re in your room and trying to get some sleep before your next park day only to be met by the squeaks and squeals of the monorail as it pulls in and out of the hotel building. While this doesn’t happen completely through the night, it can be a nuisance if you’re someone who likes to go to bed early (as transportation runs about an hour after Magic Kingdom closes which can be super late sometimes) or likes to sleep in a bit on vacation (since the monorails start transporting about an hour before the park opens –especially since its character meal, Chef Mickey’s, is a popular spot for early risers to see some characters right away)!

Very good assessment and ranking, Myranda. I agree with what you have written and how your resorts stacked up!

The Boardwalk is #1 for my family, primarily for its convenient location and activity in the evening.

All these resorts are great and we are looking forward to returning.

I agree, good thoughts! I have to say that this past May, on a Wednesday , the Polynesian was nuts!! Captain cooks had no seating anywhere and inside was a zoo! On a Wednesday….. while school was in!! The pool was slammed as well. This resort is not relaxing anymore 😞

Tips, Tricks, Tools and Advice about Walt Disney World Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Transportation to Epcot

Yacht Club to Epcot: Transportation Options

Guests at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort can travel to EPCOT using a few different transportation options including bus service, boat service, and more. Time is precious, especially during a Disney vacation, and the choice of transportation can greatly influence your experience.

  • Is walking from the Yacht Club Resort to EPCOT feasible?
  • Are ride-sharing services an option from the Yacht Club to Epcot?
  • Can taxis be used from the Yacht Club Resort to Epcot?
  • Is using a personal vehicle to EPCOT practical, and what about parking?
  • Does the Minnie Van service run between the Yacht Club and Epcot?
  • Are shuttle or car services available from the Yacht Club Resort to Epcot?

From walking through the International Gateway to exploring a variety of other transportation options, I’m here to guide you to EPCOT from the Yacht Club Resort, focusing on efficiency, scenery, or convenience.

Does Disney provide bus service from the Yacht Club to Epcot?

Disney provides a comprehensive bus service that connects guests from the Yacht Club Resort to EPCOT as well as the other three theme parks. Despite the Yacht Club’s advantageous position, which is just a short walk from Epcot’s International Gateway, which we’ll talk more about in a minute,  the option of bus transport is available for guests who wish to travel to the front of the park and enter through the main gate. So, if you prefer or require the comfort of a ride, the bus from the Yacht Club to EPCOT is at your service.

Is There A Boat Service From The Yacht Club Resort To Epcot?

If you prefer a more leisurely route, there is a boat service from the Yacht Club Resort to Epcot. This service, known as the Friendship Boat, offers a leisurely voyage across the water to your destination. It’s a simple, serene way to travel—no fuss, just the quiet hum of the boat and the soft lapping of water against its sides as you make your way to the park. So yes, you can take the boat from the Yacht Club to Epcot, and it’s a fine, if not direct, way to get there.

Does the Monorail run from the Yacht Club to Epcot?

The Monorail, that sleek symbol of Disney transport, does not run from the Yacht Club to Epcot. It runs its course elsewhere, connecting other points across the expanse of the resort. Walk, you must, or find other means, but the Monorail is not one of them from the Yacht Club to Epcot. It’s a simple truth, unadorned and clear.

Is There A Walking Path From the Yacht Club to Epcot?

From the Yacht Club Resort, there is indeed a walking path that will take you straight to Epcot. It’s a brief and pleasant walk, leading you to the International Gateway, which is Epcot’s less crowded back entrance. Along the way, you’ll pass by views of the lagoon and the BoardWalk, a scene that’s both calm and invigorating. This path is not only convenient but also offers a moment of tranquility before you arrive at the lively atmosphere of the park. It’s a straightforward, enjoyable stroll that places you right at the doorstep of the World Showcase.

What About Other Transportation Options?

For those who aren’t familiar, unfortunately, the Monorail does not run from the Yacht Club to Epcot. If you want to ride the Monorail the best way to do that is to get yourself to the front gate at EPCOT where the Monorail station is.

As for the Disney Skyliner, there simply is no need to use it to go EPCOT because while you’re walking along the boardwalk you will literally walk right under the Skyliner line as you head to the International Gateway.

Ride-sharing services are an option if you’d prefer to ride. Companies like Uber and Lyft operate within the Disney area, and you can certainly hail a ride from the Yacht Club to Epcot, although it’s a short distance that might make you reconsider the necessity of this option.

Taxis are available too. You can work with the concierge  in the Yacht Club’s lobby to arrange a ride.

Personal vehicles are also an option. You can drive from the Yacht Club to Epcot, but it’s worth noting that the parking situation at EPCOT may not be as convenient as simply walking or using other Disney transport services, given the close proximity.

Disney’s Minnie Van service , a charming way to travel in style with its polka-dotted vehicles, is available for transport throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. However, the service isn’t really necessary either for such a short distance unless you are seeking a special experience or have accessibility needs.

Lastly, personal shuttle and car services can be arranged if you’re looking for a more personal and upscale mode of transport. These services offer a variety of high-end vehicles and can be booked through third-party providers. But again, given the Yacht Club’s advantageous location near Epcot, this option is more about luxury than convenience.

New Disney’s Yacht Club Vineyard Vines Apparel Has Arrived

by Justin Hermes · June 17, 2024

disney yacht club shuttle

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite places in all of Walt Disney World is Disney’s Yacht Club. Located on Crescent Lake, the resort is not only a short walk (or a FriendShip boat ride!) away from both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but it also has some of the best theming on property.

Add in Stormalong Bay. Beaches and Cream and the hidden treasure that is Hurricane Hannah’s, and I don’t know what more anyone could want in a Disney resort.

  • Disney’s Water Parks and Disney Springs has complimentary standard self-parking
  • There IS FREE bus transportation from Disney Resort hotels to Disney Springs

Keep reading this full guide to find out all you need to know about the cost to park at Disney World and for more Disney parking tips.

Cost to Park at Disney World

The cost for parking at Disney World recently increased which makes it a budget item that you need to pay attention to when saving for your trip.

Since I’m an Annual Passholder, I sometimes forget just how painful it can be adding parking to your Disney fees.

The rates to park at Disney World are always changing so, let’s go through a breakdown of what it currently costs for parking at Disney World .

ORDER NOW to secure your Walt Disney World theme park ticket! GET MY TICKETS.

Walt Disney World Parking Fees at the Theme Parks

One parking pass is good all day at all 4 theme parks:

  • Magic Kingdom Theme Park
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park

How Much Does it Cost to Park at Disney World?

When you approach the theme park gates at Disney, you’ll notice three different options for parking fees.

1. Standard Parking: Car or Motorcycle – $30 per day

Standard parking at the Disney Parks may require you to be parked a little ways back from the gate.

Don’t worry, there are trams that can take you to the front area of the park at no additional fee.

Hipster Power Tip: Remember that the Magic Kingdom is the busiest theme park in the world so be sure to get there an hour and a half before to the gates open.

This may seem radical, but if you’re parking you have to take into consideration:

  • Finding a  parking space.
  • Getting on the  tram to the transportation ticket center.
  • Taking the monorail or boat over to the Magic Kingdom gates.  There can be a very long line to get on the monorail or the boat.
  • Getting through the ticket turnstiles. This may take a while due to new security safety measures of  having your bags checked.

2. Preferred Parking: Car or Motorcycle – $45 per day during non-peak seasons; $50 per day during peak seasons

This area is located the closest to the park front gates. Disney Cast Members will also give you a bottle of water when you choose this option.

Keep in mind that the prices for Preferred Parking do vary based on the season that you visit.

3. Oversized Vehicle Parking: Shuttle, Limo, Camper Trailer, RV, Bus or Tractor Trailer – $35 per day

This is a Disney parking fee that you will pay if you plan on parking one of these vehicles on property.

Ready to plan your theme park trip? Watch the best vacation planning tips on YouTube. Get started here!

Can you leave Disney parking lot and come back?

You absolutely can!

When you pay for one parking pass, it’s good for the rest of the day at any of the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom).

So, enjoy your park hopping adventure at Disney without paying extra to park.

Do Disney resort guests pay for parking?

According to  Disney , registered guests of Disney Resort Hotels, select Annual Passholders, Premium Passholders and Disney Premier Passport holders will have free standard self-parking at Disney Theme Parks.

They also go on to say that you can choose Preferred Parking by paying the difference in cost between the standard parking and preferred parking fee.

This comes out to about a $20-$25 difference if you go with this option.

You more about the Disney Resort hotel parking fees here.

How much does it cost to park at Disney Water Parks?

Standard parking at Disney’s Water Parks is free! These parks include:

  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
  • Blizzard Beach

How much does it cost to park at Disney Springs?

Standard self-parking is free at Disney Springs.

There are 3 parking garages and an additional 4 charging stations that are new on Level 3.

They are located in the Watermelon parking lot, and you can find them in front of Cirque du Soleil.

Disney Springs Parking Garages:

  • Lime Garage is closer to the offsite hotels in Disney Springs and is located near the LEGO Store, World of Disney, and the BOATHOUSE
  • Orange Garage is located near AMC Theater, the Coca-Cola Store, and Planet Hollywood
  • Grapefruit Garage is the newest garage that is located across the street from the Lime Garage and has a pedestrian bridge to cross the street over to Disney Springs

There are additional regular parking lots around Disney Springs which are:

Payment is usually collected when you pick up your car. Please keep in mind that gratuites are typically accepted.

Hipster Power Tip: If you have a special event, dining reservation, or concert that you need to be at, then you’ll want to arrive at Disney Springs an hour in advance to park and get situated.

What time can you park at Disney Springs?

You can start parking in the Disney Springs garages at 9 a.m. each day.

I do recommend checking the time before you go just to make sure it hasn’t changed.

How much does it cost to park at ESPN Wide World of Sports?

Standard self-parking is free at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

Can I park for free at Disney World?

You may be wondering if you can park at Disney Springs and go to the parks?

It’s definitely possible if you know how to do it the right way. Even with the high cost to park at Disney World, you can find ways to park for free at Disney which we will go into detail down below.

According to Disney , all Guests have complimentary acces s to their network of monorails, buses and boats.

How To Avoid Parking Fees At Disney World

As you can see from Disney’s official quote, you can use free parking at Disney Springs as a way to see the other resorts throughout Walt Disney World or visit multiple parks.

Now that you know this, it’s important to note that the Disney Springs buses do not go straight to the parks. However, they do run between Disney Springs and Disney Resort hotels.

They start running 45 minutes before Disney Springs opens and stop one hour after closing.

Once you have parked at one of the garages at Disney Springs, head over to the bus station.

You’ll then figure out which resort you need to be dropped off at based on your theme park choice for that day.

Choose the BEST Day to Go to Walt Disney World with This Crowd Calendar!

Disney World Transportation to the Parks from Disney Springs

Let’s go over how to get to the theme parks from Disney Springs.

Disney Springs to Magic Kingdom

You will need to take a bus to the to one of the Magic Kingdom resorts: Polynesian Resort, Contemporary Resort, or the Grand Floridian Resort.

The Contemporary Resort is the best place to be dropped off.

Here you can take a 10-minute walk over to the Magic Kingdom or hop on the monorail.

Disney Springs to Epcot

You will need to take a bus to one of the Epcot Resorts: The Boardwalk or the Yacht and Beach Club.

Once you arrive at one of the resorts you can take the boat or walk over to the back entrance of Epcot.

Disney Springs to Hollywood Studios

You will need to take a bus to one of the Epcot Resorts: The Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin Resort, or the Yacht and Beach Club.

Once you arrive at one of the resorts you can take the boat or walk over to the park entrance.

Disney Springs to Animal Kingdom

You will need to hop on a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Once there, you can take a bus to Animal Kingdom theme park.

Ready to start planning your next Disney World vacation? Listen to the  latest podcast episode on Apple  or on your  non-Apple  device now!

Can you park overnight at Disney Springs?

It is not recommended for you to park overnight at Disney Springs. Doing so may result in your vehicle being towed, which is the worst way to experience a Disney vacation.

Disney Springs is open Sunday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Pros and Cons of Parking for Free at Disney World

The main benefit of parking at Disney Springs is the free cost. However, what you don’t pay with money you will pay with your time.

Parking at Disney Springs and taking the bus over to resorts to board another form of transportation can take away at least 2 hours from your day. Plus, Disney Springs usually doesn’t open until 9 a.m. which is too late for you to start your theme park day.

If you’re a frequent reader of this blog, then you know that one of my top tips for Disney is to get there early!

Parking this way will not do that for you.

Although Disney doesn’t offer any parking discounts and the thought of paying the $30 is tough to swallow, it will make your day much easier.

Is Preferred Parking worth it?

Preferred Parking at the Disney theme parks is not worth it. If you arrive early, you’ll be able to get a decent parking space.

Plus, Disney will always have a tram to come by your parking lot row to take you directly to the front of the gates.

I understand that the cost to park at Disney World can be quite expensive. Especially, if you plan on being there for a few days .

Planning a 3-day visit to Disney World can put your parking budget around $90 for just those few days!

PLEASE Refrain from Doing These Absolutely UNHINGED Things at Your Disney World Hotel

disney yacht club shuttle

Disney World is a pretty special place, and staying at a Disney World hotel has quite a few perks! You can take advantage of perks such as Early Entry and free Disney transportation.

disney yacht club shuttle

However, if you are staying at a Disney World hotel, we have a few requests of things we would like you to avoid. Actually, if these things could be avoided at any hotel it would probably be for the best.

Hogging Pool Chairs

Pool days at a Disney World resort are a blast. We totally get that everyone in your party is likely going to want to lounge on a pool chair at some point. We aren’t saying you can’t use the pool chairs, or that you shouldn’t reserve the chairs. All we are asking is that you only reserve enough chairs for the people in your group, and if you are leaving the pool for an extended period, let others use the chairs while you are gone.

If you have a big group, by all means, have a chair for everyone! We don’t need you to share chairs, just don’t grab eight chairs when you know only two people are coming to the pool.

Leaving a Huge Mess

We know it is vacation, and part of what you are paying is for housekeeping to clean up your room. But at the same time, be as nice as possible to the housekeepers. They are there to make your vacation special, but leaving huge messes is just not a good choice. You don’t have to leave your room spotless but also don’t create an outrageous amount of work for the housekeepers.

Your room is going to look lived in and slept in, but it probably shouldn’t look like a hurricane went through it.

Yelling at Cast Members

While we don’t think yelling at a Cast Member is ever the answer, it definitely won’t help to yell if they aren’t able to accommodate a room request. We know a Disney World vacation costs a lot, and we always hope things go the way we want them to. However, not every request will be able to be accommodated.

disney yacht club shuttle

You can always talk to Cast Members about your requests or see if other arrangements can be made, but yelling just isn’t the answer.

Letting Your Kids Run Amok

There is a lot of excitement happening on a Disney World vacation, and we know that kids seem like they have unlimited energy sometimes. However, while we are all for kids playing and enjoying themselves, we have seen kids running amok quite a few times during our Disney World stays.

disney yacht club shuttle

Most resorts have some great open areas, or even playgrounds for kids to run wild. We would just request that you keep as close of an eye as possible on your kids in places with lots of other people around. For instance, places like the lobby or table service restaurants. We understand kids will be kids, and Disney World is a pretty fantastic place. Just try your best to ensure your kids are being respectful of others, and help your kids understand where they can run around and where they need to be a bit calmer.

Throwing Parties in Your Room Late into the Night

Like we said before, Disney World is pretty awesome. There is a lot to celebrate while you are on a Disney World trip and who really needs sleep anyway? What better way to spend your evenings than throwing a rager in your hotel room to keep the party going all night long? We would like to strongly argue that getting sleep is a much better way to spend your evenings.

disney yacht club shuttle

We get it. Being in Disney World with your family or friends is exciting, but if we could save the loud excitement for the daytime, everyone in the resort will thank you. We aren’t saying you have to go to bed at 7PM every night, but if you are planning on staying up later, just keep the noise down in your room in case your neighbors are sleeping! The resorts have lots of activities you can take advantage of too.

Questionable Resort Attire

We want you to be comfortable while you are at Disney World, and you will likely find yourself feeling pretty at home at your Disney World resort. We have seen some pretty surprising attire at the resorts, and while we are all for you doing you, we always find a couple of resort attire trends amusing.

disney yacht club shuttle

The first one is walking around the resort barefoot. Again, we love that you are feeling comfortable and at-home, but we are also slightly worried. Who knows what you may be stepping in, and the last thing we want is for you to get hurt. The resorts are clean, but we aren’t sure if they are THAT clean.

disney yacht club shuttle

Secondly is wearing your pajamas around the resort. There is something to be said about grabbing a quick cup of coffee in your PJs. But we do have some questions if you walk around the resort all day and for extended periods of time in your pajamas. We have a feeling you are pretty darn comfortable, but we still have some questions.

Running Loudly Down Hallways

Sometimes the excitement gets the best of you, and you can’t help but sprint excitedly down the resort hallway. We have probably all had a moment where we realized we were being way too loud in a moment.

disney yacht club shuttle

Unfortunately, we are pretty sure you can hear just about everything through the room doors. Great for listening in on conversations, but it can be a bit annoying when groups are loudly running down the hallways.

disney yacht club shuttle

There are always going to be annoyances and frustrations when you are staying at a hotel. There are a lot of people in a pretty small area, so be prepared for some less than magical moments. Try your best to be respectful of those around you and have an amazing time.
