Fincantieri Yachts is known for designing masterful custom megayachts that challenge the status quo, but the builder is having a real mic-drop moment with its latest vessel. The next-gen concept, known as Blanche, spans 230 feet and features a spacious interior that may just remind you of your favorite five-star hotel.

The first thing you’ll notice about Blanche is that she’s devoid of unnecessary clutter. The Italian yard purposely eschewed visual obstructions in favor of space and simplicity. This frees your eyes up to focus on the ship’s graceful lines.

The concept was developed in partnership with Gabriele Teruzzi. The young Italian designer founded his eponymous studio in 2016 and already has a handful of prestigious projects to his name. Pairing this fresh blood with such a storied shipbuilder—Fincantieri has more than two centuries worth of experience—has led to a design that’s downright pioneering. That much is clear once you get inside.

Her knockout feature is a gargantuan interior. Blanche has an anticipated volume of 1,535 GT and is characterized by a flowing open-plan layout that makes the sun’s natural light a design element in and of itself. She can sleep up to 14 guests across seven cabins, as well as 17 crew. The luxurious master suite opens onto a private 190-square-foot terrace. This space is surrounded by full-height panoramic windows and affords unparalleled sea views.

When it comes to amenities, Blanche boasts a beach area at the aft—complete with a waterfall pool, of course—a jacuzzi on the foredeck, a scenic sky lounge, a sprawling wellness area that spans 126 square feet and an upscale piano bar, which features a sparkling fairy-lit ceiling. While performance specs and engine type were not available as of press time, Fincantieri claims that Blanche will have a 5,000 nautical mile range at a speed of 12 knots.

The megayacht division of the Fincantieri Group has been designing and building custom vessels over 300 feet since 2005 and has established itself as major player in the big boat world. So far, it has delivered the 440-foot Serene (2011) and the 460-foot Ocean Victory (2014), which are a testament to the yard’s epic ambitions. Sure, Blanche will be a tad shorter than her sisters, but there’s absolutely nothing small about her.

Fincantieri Yachts, “the technology of beauty” is what they call this Italian Muggiano shipyard. Fincantieri Yachts are a testament to their famous yard’s engineering skills and a translation of its experience from commercial and naval shipbuilding to mega yachts over 230feet / 70meters, while incorporating the aesthetics that distinguish a mega yacht from a ship.

Fincantieri Yachts is part of Fincantieri, formerly known as Società Finanziaria Cantieri Navali. Originally founded in 1959 as a financial holding company, it became an operating company in 1984 and has built over 7,000 vessels. Fincantieri is one of the largest shipbuilding groups in the world and a leader in the construction of cruise ships, large ferries and naval vessels, including submarines. Fincantieri’s production network consists of 21 shipyards in four different continents, 3 design centers, a research center in the naval field, two production sites dedicated to the manufacturing of systems and mechanical components and a team of 19,000 employees. The Fincantieri Group includes a number of affiliated and subsidiary companies, including Orizzonte Sistemi Navali S.p.A. headquartered in Genoa, Isotta Fraschini Motori headquartered in Bari, Fincantieri Marine Systems North America headquartered in the United States, Fincantieri Marine Group headquartered in the United States and CETENA, the Research and Development center whose main office is in Genoa. Fincantieri Marine Group is the U.S. subsidiary of Fincantieri and is comprised of three Great Lakes Shipyards: Fincantieri Marinette Marine, builder of the Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ship for the United States Navy; Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, specialists in construction, repair and conversion of USCG and commercial vessels, including ATBs and OSVs; and Fincantieri ACE Marine, an aluminum construction facility and builder of the Response Boat-Medium for the USCG, as well as specializing in the design and construction high speed coastal intercept and patrol vessels.

The shipyard has built some of the most advanced ships in the world while setting many records, from building the first submarine to reach the Mariana Trench (11,033m deep) in 1960, to creating the Alliance, the world’s most silent ship, in 1986, and the most silent submarine in 2007, to producing the Destriero, which still holds the blue ribbon with a 65 knots peak speed and Atlantic cross at 53 knots average.

The first mega yacht delivered by Fincantieri was in 2011, the 440foot / 134meter Serene. In 2014, the then largest yacht ever built in Italy and one of the ten largest in the world, Ocean Victory (459feet / 140meters) was delivered. Today, Fincantieri yachts also has exclusive design concepts to offer the clients who prefer to build upon existing projects: Ottantacinque 282feet / 85.9meters, FC Swath 246feet / 75meters, Virage 289feet / 88meters, X-Vintage 325feet / 99meters, Mars 295feet / 89.9meters, Light 262feet / 80meters, Fortisssimo 476feet / 145meters, Armonia 466feet / 142meters, Skyback 264feet / 80.4meters, and Vanitas 404feet / 123meters.

Fincantieri: a second ship for Four Seasons Yachts

Trieste, June 19, 2023 - Fincantieri has signed a contract with Marc-Henry Cruise Holdings LTD, Joint Owner/Operator of Four Seasons Yachts, for the construction of the second ultra-luxury Four Seasons vessel. This second vessel’s order is worth more than 400 million euros, and the ship will be delivered in 2026.

The contract is subject to access to financing as per industry practice.

In 2022 Fincantieri acquired the order for the first ship of the class, which will be delivered in Q4 2025.

The award winning 133.9m/439'4" motor yacht 'Serene' was built by Fincantieri in Italy at their Muggiano shipyard. Her interior is styled by British designer design house Reymond Langton Design and she was delivered to her owner in August 2011.

Serene has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 24 guests in 12 suites comprising one VIP cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 62 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Her features include a dancefloor, wheelchair accessibility, movie theatre, beauty salon, satellite communications, beach club, gym, deck jacuzzi, WiFi and air conditioning.

Range & Performance

Serene is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by 8 x diesel-electric MTU (16V 4000 M40) 16-cylinder 2,828hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 15 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 25 knots with a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles from her 800,000 litre fuel tanks at 15 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board promises exceptional comfort levels at anchor or on any voyage. Her water tanks store around 145,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules.

A PERFECT COMBINATION OF DREAMS AND REALITY

ARMONIA was conceived in close co-operation with Fincantieri Yachts Division, and its design combines technical performance, safety and comfort with new, beautiful aesthetic solutions that ensure a fine balance of all the architectural elements. The superstructure’s main outline is designed out of very soft shapes, while the low angle of the transom’s slope is reminiscent of that of a sport sailing yacht. All of this, together with the very long forward overhang, help to keep a very slender overall look. Hence the choice of the project’s name, which comes from ancient Greek language and means exactly “the perfect fit and the morphologic equilibrium of the main components of a creation”: this is ARMONIA.
