Will I be charged a security deposit for my Sailo charter?

Most of the California boat owners require a sailboat rental refundable security deposit. The renter can check the security deposit amount at any time on the booking page. Upon instructions from the boat owner, Sailo will place a hold on the security deposit prior to the trip date or will notify the renter that the amount is due upon arrival at the marina, payable directly to the boat owner, in cash or by credit card. The funds will be released after the trip if there are no incidentals.

Why Choose a Catamaran Charter?

If you’re looking for a San Diego yacht rental, you have options; we aren’t going to pretend to be the only boat in the bay. But, if you have ever experienced a sail on a cat, you’ll know why we are a bit biased.

Catamarans offer much more space than monohull boats making them the perfect choice for groups; on a catamaran there really is no bad seat.

Catamarans also offer more stability with less rocking back and forth than monohull boats, which can help with seasickness.

Thanks to their shallow draft, catamarans can access areas of the bay too shallow for most boats.

Triton is the largest catamaran in The Big Bay and one of the only options in San Diego if you are looking for a private catamaran charter that can hold up to 100 people.

Triton catamaran made her maiden voyage to San Diego in August 1st 2020. She is a brand new, GC70, 75 ft day charter catamaran that boasts capacity for 100 passengers and a large deck with outdoor seating.

How Much Does it Cost to Rent a Yacht in San Diego?

Pricing depends on the number of guests in your party. Typically the pricing structure works as follows:

$825/hr Weekdays and $975/hr on Weekends for up to 40 guests

$1,000/hr Weekdays and $1,150/hr on Weekends for up to 50 guests

$1250/hr Weekdays and $1,400/hr on Weekends for up to 60 guests

$1500/hr Weekdays and $1,650/hr on Weekends for up to 70 guests

$1750/hr Weekdays and $1,900/hr on Weekends for up to 80 guests

$2,000/hr Weekdays and $2,150/hr on Weekends for up to 90 guests

$2,250/hr Weekdays and $2,400/hr on Weekends for up to 100 guests

Where to Park and What to Bring

Parking Directions : Please click HERE  for the map of where to park. For free parking, please park in the rear of the parking lot as there is no meters. We do not have assigned parking, so please be sure to come at least 30 minutes early.

Walking Directions : Once parked, please click HERE for walking directions. You must arrive AT LEAST 30 MINUTES prior to your charter time. Please fill out your waivers and be prepared to present your waiver via QR code, and have your ID handy before you arrive.

General FAQ

Where are you located?

Triton is located at 2700 Shelter Island Dr. San Diego CA 92101 on the commercial dock next to Sail San Diego. Watch our Pre-Boarding video to help with parking!

What are your COVID Guidelines?

We are committed to the safety of our customers and our staff. We follow CDC recommendations on the state level as well as the county recommendations. Since our venue is outdoors, customers are not required to wear a mask. Triton is sanitized before, during, and after every charter with hand sanitizer available for guests.

What comes standard with each charter?

Triton includes a captain, crew, bartender, waterslide (for private charters), dance floor, seating for up to 100 guests, 2 restrooms, and modern decor! 

Can we film our experience?

 Drone Filming

Filming/bringing a drone for your charter is prohibited. Triton’s location is an ever-changing “no fly zone” with only very few locations able to actually take-off with a drone. We do offer drone filming services where our experienced pilots will communicate with our captain to get the shot that you need. Please inquire for cost.

DSLR/Production Filming

Bringing professional filming equipment on-board must be approved with our administrative team.  Triton Charters must be added as “additionally insured” on your insurance policy. Filming with intent to distribute is prohibited on Triton without prior approval. Cell phone videos/pictures are encouraged! 

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Private Charters – Triton Management LLC requires all cancellations be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Ticketed Charters –

Ticketed Charters – Tickets are 100% refundable if canceled at least 24 hours prior to the charter’s departure time. Triton Charters may cancel ticketed charters anytime for any reason in which case, our customers will receive a full refund.

WEATHER POLICY

Triton Charters does not operate in unsafe weather conditions, but a light rain shower is not a deterrent. The captain will assess the weather and should the captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the charter, the charter may be rescheduled or it will be canceled.

If a trip is canceled by Triton Charters for any reason, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip or receiving a full refund.

Please note that failure to show for the reserved trip without cancellation will result in no refund

**Triton Charters reserves the right to change/alter our cancellation and refund policy as needed based on availability, or any circumstances deemed necessary. 

Is there a deposit?

The deposit for Private Charters is 10% of the total cost. This must be paid upon booking and the remaining amount is due 72 hours before your charter date.

How is my price determined?

Triton has unique pricing structure allows our customers to get the best deal possible for a private experience. The pricing is as follows:

Weekday Pricing

1-40 Passengers $825/hr

41-50 Passengers – $1,000/hr

51-60 Passengers – $1,250/ hr

61-70 Passengers  – $1,500/hr

71-80 Passengers – $1,750/hr

81-90 Passengers – $2,000/hr

91-100 Passengers – $2,250/hr

Weekend Pricing

1-40 Passengers $975/hr

41-50 Passengers – $1,150/hr

51-60 Passengers – $1,400/ hr

61-70 Passengers  – $1,1550/hr

71-80 Passengers – $1,1900/hr

Each charter must pay a 10% deposit upon booking. 

What's the max capacity and seating?

The maximum occupancy of triton yacht rental San Diego is 100 passengers. With comfortable seating for everyone. Seating includes our 13-seat bar, leather bean bags, and bench seating. During COVID-19 our capacity may change.

What does the yacht rental include?

We’ve thought of everything, so you don’t have to. Included in your charter is our USCG certified captain and crew, 13-seat bar, bartender, space for 100 guests, 2 bathrooms, built-in waterslide, professional sound system, covered dance floor, 55″ flatscreen tv, lifejackets, all on the largest and newest catamaran charter in San Diego. Alcoholic beverages are also for sale at our 13-seat custom bar.

Where does the yacht charter go?

Each charter is unique. Guests will enjoy the ability to “point and go” allowing you to go wherever you’d like. Typically charters will do a tour around San Diego Bay where you will pass many of San Diego’s monuments and sights. You also have the ability to go for an ocean sail and enjoy the amazing views of Coronado and Point Loma.

What about food and drinks?

Each Private Charter includes a bartender that will serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. We have a fully stocked bar with the same amenities as a normal venue including draft beer, craft cocktails, mixed drinks, wine, juices, sparkling water, and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests are prohibited from bringing any alcoholic beverages onboard. 

You are more than welcome to bring your own food on-board. If you decide to bring your own food, we suggest finger foods that are easily served and disposed of. If you plan on catering your event, you must have the venue list Triton Charters on the ‘additionally insured business’ on their insurance. For more information, please call us at 844-5-TRITON.

Tickets are $55 for adults and $15 for children. Tickets do not include drinks, or food.

Notable Landmarks and Sites We’ll See 

As you soak in the sun, we’ll sail past some of San Diego’s most spectacular coastal sites introducing (or reacquainting) you with the:

• USS Midway Aircraft Carrier – The USS Midway was commissioned one week after the end of World War II, was the largest ship in the world until 1955, and was the longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century. The Midway was so large it could carry 120 planes on its armored flight deck and was the first aircraft carrier unable to cruise the Panama Canal due to its sheer size. While you are visiting San Diego, be sure to check out the USS Midway Museum  to learn more about this iconic ship. 
• Star of India –   Star of India is the world’s oldest active sailing ship. She is an iron ship with a long and storied past that includes collisions, mutiny and cyclones. She worked as a cargo ship and then spent half a century bringing emigrants to New Zealand. You can tour the Star of India at the  Maritime Museum of San Diego. 
• North Island Military Base –   Dubbed the official birthplace of aviation, the North Island Military Base is an active military base home to two aircraft carriers and 23 fixed and rotary wing squadrons.
• Cabrillo National Museum – T he Cabrillo National Monument and museum mark the location where the first European set foot on the western US. There is a lot to take in at Cabrillo park including the Old Point Loma Lighthouse and the rocky intertidal zone. 
• Hotel del Coronado –   The Hotel Del  is a historic beachfront luxury hotel situated in the city of Coronado, just over the bridge from downtown San Diego. It opened in 1888 as the largest resort hotel in the world and today is the second-largest wooden structure in the US. If you are visiting San Diego, it is definitely worth spending a couple of hours at The Del — grab lunch or stroll the pristine beach.

What is the ticket schedule?

To see our live calendar, please visit our ticketed charter page. Our ticketed charter times change based upon the season. From March 17th – November 3rd, our ticketed cruise depart Wednesday-Sunday at 11am, 2:30pm, and 6pm. November 4th – March 9th our schedule is Wednesday-Sunday at 10am, 1pm, nd 4:30pm. Each charter is 2.5 hours and will take you on an epic adventure through San Diego Bay, down to Glorietta Bay and back! Triton may change/update/add or remove dates upon our descretion. 

How long is the cruise?

Each ticketed charter is 2.5 hours in duration.

Triton is equipped with a full bar including: mixed drinks, draft beer, specialty cocktails, soft drinks, juices and sparkling water. Passengers are strictly prohibited from bringing their own beverages. 

Prices are $8.50 for draft beer, $10.50 for mixed drinks, and $13.00 for specialty cocktails. You may bring your own food that is individually packed, ie: No cakes, or foods that require serving utensils.

What types of payment do you accept?

We take all majorly accepted credit/debit cards. We do not accept cash or checks. 

What is the deposit for Private Charters?

All private charters are required to pay a 10% deposit to secure their booking. If the charter is within one week of the reservation, the charter must be fully paid.

Private Charters – Triton Management LLC requires all cancellations to be made 14 days prior to the scheduled departure time to receive a full refund. Cancellation within 14 days of the charter will forfeit their deposit. Any cancellations made within 72 hours before the charter will forfeit the full amount of the contracted services and are non-refundable.

Ticketed Charters – You must contact us more than 24 hours before your charter to reschedule or to cancel your ticket. If you cancel within 24 hours of your charter or are late/no-show,  you may reschedule without a fee. If you wish to get a refund and cancelled/no-showed within 24 hours of your charter, you will be charged a 20% cancellation fee. Triton Charters may cancel ticketed charters anytime for any reason in which our customers will receive a full refund.

Please note that failure to show for the reserved trip without prior cancellation will result in no refund

In order to rent our sailboats you must pass a skills evaluation on that specific sailboat by either completing the prerequisite class at MBAC or completing a 2-hour private lesson if you have previous sailing experience.  We are a self-service rental facility and when you rent a sailboat you are required to launch, rig, de-rig, and clean up your equipment.  

Regardless of sailing experience and ability, you MUST complete at least a 2-hour private lesson with one of our instructors. During your lesson you will be shown where the equipment is stored, how to rig and launch, demonstrate your sailing ability, complete a capsize and recovery, and be shown how to de-rig and store the equipment properly.  You can book a small boat sailing private lesson here . Your skills evaluation will stay valid for 5 years from your evaluation date, or the last date that you rented that specific piece of equipment.

Sailboat Rental Policies:

• You must be at least 18 years of age to rent equipment and willing to take financial and legal responsibility for the equipment you are renting.
• Minors between the ages of 14-17 may participate on their own sailboat with someone over the age of 18 supervising them and a waiver  must be signed by their parent. Children under the age of 14 must participate in the rental on the same piece of equipment as the adult and the adult must still go through the checkoff process.
• All equipment must be returned within 2.5 hours or ½ hour before closing—whichever comes first.
• You must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) at ALL TIMES.
• Rentals are self service, meaning that customers are expected to setup, rinse, and put away their own equipment.
• You are not allowed to go under any bridges.
• No animals or alcohol allowed on equipment. Those suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to use equipment.
• Commercial activity is prohibited on rental equipment.
• Hobie Getaways require at least 2 passengers over the age of 14.
• The maximum capacity for Quests is 4 people and Hobie Getaways is 5 people.

Perfect for those who have completed small boat sailing classes at MBAC, the Sailing Membership will also allow you to continue learning through ongoing instructional clinics that are free for members. • Minimum 4 month membership commitment. After 4th month's payment you can submit cancellation, otherwise your membership will continue to be charged monthly and you will continue membership benefits. Cancellations must be submitted 7 days prior to charge date.
• Member must know how to sail and pass a skills evaluation on each piece of equipment before being allowed to rent that specific equipment.
• New members who have not yet completed a qualification on MBAC equipment must attend a 2-hour membership orientation before renting. Through the orientation you will be able to qualify to rent one type of sailboat.
• Membership fee will be auto-charged monthly January-November (no charge in December).
• Sailing membership includes use of Sabots, RS Quest, Hobie Getaway, Laser, and Windsurfing Equipment. A qualification is required for each type of boat.
• One 2.5 hour rental per day.
• No pets or alcohol allowed on MBAC equipment.
• MBAC rentals must remain in Sail Bay.
• Membership does not guarantee availability of equipment during peak times.
• Commercial activity prohibited on rental equipment
• Member must remain on the equipment while it is sailing.
• Class discount cannot be combined with other discounts including class packages.
• Please review the Rental Agreement Contract during membership registration for a full list of terms and conditions.

Our address is 2700 Shelter Island Drive, San Diego CA 92106. Once booked, you will receive a detailed confirmation email with parking and walking instructions to get to the boat.

Aquata allows our customers to choose the route that they’d like to take. Explore the San Diego Bay passing by iconic landmarks, relax in one of the many scenic coves while enjoying the wildlife, or speed out to the pacific ocean for a gorgeous view of the California coastline. With enough time you can do it all, the possibilities are endless!

What will we see during the charter?

During your private yacht rental, expect to see an array of gorgeous scenery and historic landmarks. Some of our favorites include the Coronado Bridge, USS Midway, Star of India, Sunset Cliffs, La Jolla Cove, Hotel Del Coronado, Point Loma Lighthouse and so many more! With a little luck you could see dolphins, sea lions and whales!

What do we need to bring?

Aquata Charters allows you to bring your own food and drinks (this includes alcohol).  Be sure to bring food that is easily accessible and easy to clean up! Please do not bring any red wine aboard, or glass cups. All liquids contained in glass will be put into plastic cups. Feel free to bring towels, sunscreen, and a big smile!

Does the charter include a captain?

Your Aquata rental does NOT include a captain. You must choose your captain during the booking process. The captain’s fee of $50/hr is paid directly to the captain upon arrival at the dock.

Gray skies and occasional light rain, a rare combination for San Diego, don't usually grant rescheduling options or refunds.

You can change the number of guests at any time, without previous notice , so long you stay under your vessel’s guest limit (24 for Humboldt, 6 for Camarão).

Our boats are located directly behind our shop , in San Diego Mission Bay ( 1617 Quivira Rd ). Check-in at the shop starts 15 minutes prior to your party cruise departure time.

You're more than welcome to bring your own food and drinks at no extra cost.

We kindly ask you to stay away from anything that can break and hurt other passengers (glass-bottled beers, for instance) or anything that can stain the boat (red wine, berries, petals).

There are designated areas onboard where you can smoke cigarettes and e-cigarettes.

Drugs of any kind are not allowed on board as the waterways are under federal jurisdiction - marijuana and vape included.

The Duffy Boat cruise of the harbor was fantastic. There were seals, beautiful scenery, and an epic sunset. It was a birthday dream come true for my wife. Highly recommended and we'll definitely do it again in the future.

My group of friends and I had an amazing time on our first Duffy boat rental! It was comfortable and easy to maneuver during our 90 minute rental! A great alternative to a girls night out, would highly recommend, we will definitely do it again soon!

Our Marketing team took a 12-seat electric boat out for 2 hours and had a blast just getting away from the office, laughing, talking and touring Mission Bay. We brought snacks and wine/beer. It was a much-needed break and the staff at Duffy was AMAZING. Can't say enough good things about them.

This was honestly such a good find! We were celebrating 2 30th birthday parties and looking for something fun to do during the day. We had 6 ppl, we got 4 bottles of wine and had plenty of snacks to go around. We also got to play our own music which we all know how much everyone loves that! We all had such a great time none of us wanted it to be over. I would totally recommend!

We were greeted by our Captain Devin on the dock and directed down to our boat. We were the only two on this sunset cruise and it was really nice. Devin was friendly, conversational, and a great host. He had the wine and the cheese board waiting for us when boarded the boat. It was a beautiful night and we had a great time! We would highly recommend this tour while in San Diego!!!

Spent a lovely evening on the water with my family of 8 plus eleven-year-old and 18-month old grandsons. We were ten all together on the 12 person boat with lots of room left over. Very comfortable. Very safe, stable and easy to operate. Beautiful, clean boat. Played music on the Bluetooth and brought food and drink for all. So much fun! Recommend the Duffy boat rental without hesitation. Everyone had a terrific time.

It was my first time booking through getmyboat and booking with Artiss was so easy, they provided all the information needed, and they were easy to communicate with. The boat was easy to use, clean, and they gave clear instructions on getting in and out of the Marina. We have no complaints and are very excited to book with them again.

R&R Surf Rentals were the providers. Their staff were are very friendly, courteous, and professional. The safety presentation was as enjoyable as the boat ride mostly due to the staff. The boat was well maintained, clean and comfortable. The 1 hour rental was just what we needed for the occasion but a longer rental may be a better choice for next time. Much appreciation for the service. Both I and my guests are looking forward to using this service again, and often, for when friends and family are visiting the area. Thank you!

Best boat on the bay!!! Joel was a great captain, such a cool person and made the experience enjoyable! We Celebrated two birthdays and this whole experience was amazing! So much seating space, cabin large enough for your personal things and food/snacks, speaker for your music with blue tooth, and the top deck with the slide! Being able to hang out on the top deck was so much fun. The slide is a huge plus to add to the fun! The floating toys were a hit! The cooler and complimentary ice was a necessity and so glad they provided that for us! If you’re throwing a party this is the boat you want to book! I felt like we had the best and funnest boat on the bay! We will be booking again!

We had THE BEST time with Jeff for my best friend’s bachelorette party! Honestly the highlight of our weekend. Jeff made everything so easy from booking all the way up until we boarded the boat. The boat was beautiful, fit all 13 of us with plenty of room, and was well stocked with everything we needed for our time on the boat. I would absolutely book Jeff and his boat again!

Paddling boarding brings me so much peace. Today, I had a long day. I showed up to the aquatic center about 30 minutes before they closed, which I don't advise you to do, and they were extremely friendly and accommodating about letting me get a few minutes on a board before they closed shop! Rarely do you get that kind of welcoming, understanding attitude from staff before they close. It was all smiles and they even asked me how my experience was after I was done. You have to keep in mind that they had to hose down all of the equipment that I used after I was done. Andrew was very friendly and professional and you can tell that the rest of the staff is as well. I don't really leave too many reviews but this one I had to note. I have a membership with them and now I know that I'll never be cancelling it! Don't get me wrong, there are some days that I'm disappointed because I get turned away due to windy weather conditions but that's completely out of their control and they are looking out for everyone's safety. With that being said, just be mindful about the weather that day and enjoy the water on a beautiful sunny day! 10/10, highly recommended!

I got stood up on a date here last summer. It was my first visit and I was excited for some morning paddle boarding. After waiting and waiting for my date only to text me 15min after we were supposed to meet I decided to just have my adventure solo. I've been paddle boarding a few times before and the bay was fairly calm so I had confidence in my ability to safely paddle around solo. They have everything you need including life jackets and lockers. They give you some basic guidance on where to go and where to avoid and send you off! They seemed to have a lifeguard or two keeping an eye out, but I'm not totally confident that someone from the center would have noticed if I had gotten myself in some trouble. But SOMEONE nearby would have- there are tons of other watersports and boaters around. For the most part I paddled around undisturbed minus a jerk boat or two that got a little closer than I would have preferred. I suggest bringing a fanny pack and something to protect your phone in case you get in the water intentionally or unintentionally. The pricing is reasonable and I've been finding myself considering a membership this summer! Bring a date (and show up lol), go solo, or come with friends- it's a great time!

Great place to take a class or rent equipment. I've taken surfing and also kayaking as electives through SDSU. Both classes were great! Instructors were so friendly and so helpful! I've also rented equipment hourly from them. Staff is so helpful, the process is so easy, and prices are reasonable.

Good complete instruction, great communication, gear in fine shape, and reasonable rates!

Top shelf treatment from start to finish. Great boards, great paddles, and everything you need for a fun and enjoyable experience on the bay. We rented 8 paddle boards and the prices were reasonable and we had a blast!

I'm a SD local and this is where I recommend to rent paddle boards and kayaks. Staff is very knowledgeable, Very friendly and helpful. Staff really makes the experience. Prices are the best as well in my opinion. I've done wake boarding as an SDSU alumni and the instructors made sure I was able to get up on the board. They have wet suits and all that you can think of if you want to be on the water.

Great place for hanging out at Mission Bay. You can rent paddle boards, small boats, ... here for very modest prices. The service is fast and friendly. Next to the center there is a great "park" with BBQ / fireplace for people to hangout. The beach may be better elsewhere in mission bay but for those with mixed needs, sunbathing, paddle boarding, ... it is fantastic setup.

Typically I start reviews with the good points, but because the bad/ugly is so dominant for Mission Bay Aquatic Center, I'll start with that. This would be a four or five star review were it not for the parking situation, which is epically bad. This is no hyperbole... it is so bad that my friend and I stopped meeting here, because the parking just never worked out. The main problem is that while MBAC opens at 9am, on any nice weekend day (you know, the kinds of days in which you want to rental a kayak/paddle board), the parking lot usually fills by 8:30-8:45. With nothing but extremely difficult street parking on Mission Blvd otherwise, you essentially HAVE to arrive well before opening to reliably park anywhere within reasonable walking distance. This makes MBAC sadly incredibly inconvenient unless you are willing to make it an early start. If you can somehow survive the parking madness, MBAC is a really great spot to rent kayaks, standup paddleboards, sailboats, and other aquatic devices. Their prices are fair and staff nice, if occasionally less than attentive. The kayaks I have rented have all been in good condition, and at $28 for a double for 2.5 hours, it makes for a nice, affordable activity on the bay. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to take their kayaks under bridges, so you can't venture beyond the western half of Mission Bay, but there's enough room to keep from feeling too confined. If you can solve the parking puzzle, I highly recommend renting from here.

What a great experience. We have taken the basic sailing, advanced sailing, and scheduled for the Hobbie Cat course. Highly recommended. The staff is very informative and friendly.

Types of Fishing Boats: Finding Your Ideal Boat

Hop aboard the best fishing boats for pursuing your favorite target species, and you’ll be in for a day of rod-bending fun.

Whether you’re going to rent a fishing boat or buy one of your own, there are plenty of types to choose from. In fact, you’ll encounter a dizzying array of boats including some designed to target specific species, some intended for use in specific types of waterways, and some that are meant to blend fishing and family boating. The top types of fishing boats you’ll likely encounter include:

Aluminum fishing boats

Particularly in freshwater venues, aluminum fishing boats are among the most popular choices around. They may range from 12 to 20-plus feet, and you’ll see everything from simple flat-bottom Jon boats intended for use in protected waters to complex V- hull models that are capable of handling huge bodies of water like the Great Lakes. Aluminum fishing boats are also popular in rivers and bays along the coast, and most of them can be used in saltwater without any problems.

Bass boats are highly specialized fishing machines, dedicated to one purpose and one purpose only: getting you to the bass and helping you catch them. Many feature high power outboards and can zoom across the lake at highway speeds. They tend to be loaded with electronics, as well as fishing accessories like bow -mounted trolling motors and electric pole anchors.

Remember that most bass boats have huge fore and aft decks and very little cockpit room, which makes them ideal for casting from an elevated position but also limits their capacity. In fact, most bass boats are intended to carry just one to three anglers on any given fishing trip. High-end models are usually fiberglass, while more economical models tend to be aluminum builds.

Fish-and-Ski boats

While they may not be the pick of hardcore anglers, fish-and-ski boats are equipped for casting but also have all the traits a boat needs for watersports fun. That’s why many people see fish-and-skis as a top choice when it comes to finding the best family boats . Many have a dual console layout and lots of seating, so they may not have as much open fishing space as a dedicated angling machine, but they’ll also be equipped with critical fishing features like livewells and fishing rod holders.

Fish-and-ski boats are available in both aluminum and fiberglass models, generally range from 17 to 22 feet in length, and usually have potent outboards that can yank a skier out of the hole with no problem.

Fishing pontoon boats

You say one family member wants to kick back and bathe in the sun, another would like to be pulled around the lake on a tow-toy after the fishing is done, and you want to sit in the lap of luxury while you wait for a bite? In that case, a fishing pontoon boat will be what you’re looking for. These are more or less like other pontoon boats but usually have fishing seats at the bow or stern as opposed to couches. Most also have fishing-specific modules added on with a livewell, fishing rod holders, and bait trays or tackle storage compartments.

Inshore saltwater fishing boats

Anglers all along the coastline going after everything from striped bass to snook will want to check out inshore fishing boats . Although most will be center console boats , you may also be choosing from dual console, walkaround, and skiff models. Subcategories of inshore fishing boats which are a bit more specialized for specific forms of fishing include flats boats (for fishing in shallow waters), bay boats (which can still go fairly shallow but also have deeper V-hulls to smooth out the ride in larger bodies of water), and hybrids (which share the traits of multiple different types).
