The Luffe 3.6 is the yacht with the illusion that it is small. On the inside the boat appears larger that it does when looking at it from the outside.

The cabins are large and are not only very practical, but also comfortable. In spite, the design has been kept light weight and aesthetic as on all Luffe boats.

The Luffe 3.6 handles effortlessly and has with its modern keel an extremely high stability. All halyards and sheets are conveniently accessible and winches have proper dimensions to match their purpose. The joy of sailing is thus not ruined by strenuous work.

The Luffe 3.6 is like the Luffe 40.04 equipped with a fully integrated self-tacking rail for the front sails. Sailing upwind becomes playtime for everybody on board.

The accommodation is as always both of the highest quality and customized to the wishes of the customer. The customer can among other options to pick which sort of wood the accommodation is made of, which fabric is used, and the color of it.

The magazines have quoted the Luffe 3.6 to ”become a new classic” and ”extremely homely”.

A fast performance cruiser..

From the very early stages the concept of the Luffe 40.20 has been to create a yacht with clean and aesthetic shapes. A boat that is simple and comfortable to handle. Sailing should not be strenuous, but a pleasure.

The Luffe 40.20 handles comfortably in all weather conditions. The many years of racing experience and boatbuilding of the designer have produced a fast performance cruiser which handles effortlessly even with a very small crew.

As with all Luffe boats the wishes of the customer is important. Almost all of the 70 Luffe 40.04 that have been finished since the launch of the Luffe 40.04 have not been alike. There are nearly infinite combinations to create your personal Luffe. Picking woods and colors to match your preferences.

The wood is never taken of the shelfs. Oluf Jørgensen handpicks the veneer which is then glued to the plywood. This allows for extreme control in the choice of wood, but it also allows controlling the mood of the wood. Will the accommodation radiate calmness or be more flamboyant in the expression. The same veneer is used to create boards to use in the pantry and as stoppers for the cushions or similar. Using veneer coming from the same batch for all aspects of the accommodation gives a more balanced style. This is of course a sluggish procedure, but it is in fact crucial for the different wooden pieces to maintain the same sensation and texture even when it ages.

Luffe Yachts

Founded by boat builder Oluf Jørgensen, who went on his own and created the successful Luffe 37, built at one of the most successful shipyards in Denmark. In 1983 the Luffe 44 was introduced, the fastest boat in Sjælland Rundt Race (the Danish boat race around the island of Zealand) that year as well as in 1984 and 1985. New boats : Luffe 40.20: New edition of the stylish 40-footer sails

The Luffe 4004 is considered to be an exceptional boat; chic, fast and easy to sail, the elegant Danish boat combines the best virtues. The new 40.20 model is intended to continue the 15-year-old concept in its current form. The shipyard has turned a surprising number of screws. Only the shape of the hull and deck are largely unchanged.

However, new negative moulds have been built so that the freeboard can be increased by around five centimetres. This creates more headroom. In addition, a new high-performance T-shaped keel with ballast bomb was constructed and the rudder was redesigned. It is now slimmer but deeper.

The self-tacking jib is still part of the standard equipment. However, a larger genoa with 106 per cent overlap is also possible. Compared to the previous model, the Luffe 40.20 now has two steering wheels and a gennaker nose. A folding bathing platform is also provided. The layout below deck has remained similar. However, the toilet room is now slightly larger and can therefore offer a separate shower area.

The Luffe 40.20 is built as a GRP sandwich construction with a foam core (epoxy as an option) and the hull is reinforced with a laminated steel frame. Prices start at 280780 euros gross for the standard boat with tiller steering.

First refuelling for Russia’s Akademik Lomonosov floating NPP

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactor units. In such reactors, nuclear fuel is not replaced in the same way as in standard NPPs – partial replacement of fuel once every 12-18 months. Instead, once every few years the entire reactor core is replaced with and a full load of fresh fuel.

The KLT-40S reactor cores have a number of advantages compared with standard NPPs. For the first time, a cassette core was used, which made it possible to increase the fuel cycle to 3-3.5 years before refuelling, and also reduce by one and a half times the fuel component in the cost of the electricity produced. The operating experience of the FNPP provided the basis for the design of the new series of nuclear icebreaker reactors (series 22220). Currently, three such icebreakers have been launched.

The Akademik Lomonosov was connected to the power grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020.

Electricity generation from the FNPP at the end of 2023 amounted to 194 GWh. The population of Pevek is just over 4,000 people. However, the plant can potentially provide electricity to a city with a population of up to 100,000. The FNPP solved two problems. Firstly, it replaced the retiring capacities of the Bilibino Nuclear Power Plant, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya Thermal Power Plant, which is more than 70 years old. It also supplies power to the main mining enterprises located in western Chukotka. In September, a 490 km 110 kilovolt power transmission line was put into operation connecting Pevek and Bilibino.
