Conceived as a revamp of the Olson 30, the Olson 29 was in 1984. The 29 has the same hull as the 30, but everything else is different. The 29 had 3 important and more forward-thinking features when compared to the Olson 30: Ellpitical keel and rudder, fractional rig and open transom.
Production commenced 1985 and it is believed that only 27 Olson 29’s were built.
Due the smaller fore triangle, the 29 actually has less upwind sail area than the 30. The down wind sail area is higher as the 29’s mainsail is larger than the 30 and utilizing the “stock” penalty pole, the 29 has the same sized spinnaker as the 30.

Motor Volvo Penta MD6A 10 h.p. is original. The sails are almost new, full sails set is included.
The owner didn’t list too much equipment. Apart from usual equipment there are a second fridge, a charger, 2 batteries 120 and 70 Ah, a swim ladder and a heater that needs some repair.
Among the disadvantages: you should check the complete set, what’s with the autopilot, how does it all work (radio station, navigation lights and the motor). Mostly the sellers do not mention it because this all works good but who knows.
Inner height is 182 cm by the way, really comfortable for its size.

A few early boats were built at the Ohlson brothers yard.(closed in 1975). Construction continued at a new location where most boats were built. Changes to rig and keel appeared on later boats. Not the same as the OHLSON 29/WINGA 29.
