BBYO and OneTable are partnering to provide resources and support for alumni Shabbat dinners. BBYO International Convention 2024

Over the last decade, BBYO International Convention (IC) has grown to be the largest Jewish communal gathering in North America and has evolved into a SXSW for Jewish teens. This year, we're making our big tent even bigger as we welcome our largest alumni and adult community to IC yet. IC 2024 will take place in Orlando, Florida over President's Day weekend. Bring your BBYO friends and come celebrate with us by soaking up the sun, exploring Orlando's theme parks, and reuniting for an unforgettable Centennial celebration.

It starts where it all began. The Centennial will kick into high gear at August Execs in Omaha, Nebraska where the first AZA chapter was chartered on May 3, 1924. The Executive Body will explore BBYO's roots while preparing for a historic year.

IC Launch Night

September 28, 2023

BBYO International Convention 2024 is set to be the biggest IC in our 100 years of history. This year, more than ever, if you want to guarantee a spot at IC, you and your friends will want to sign up the night registration opens. Last year, there was an IC waitlist due to increased demand. On Thursday, September 28, communities around the world will rally across restaurants, arcades, backyards, and more to welcome their biggest delegations to the Centennial IC. You won't want to miss this moment—there will be endless surprises, the biggest alumni experience yet, and special celebrations in honor of BBYO turning 100.

Summer Launch Night

November 2, 2023

Summer 2024 will be celebrated as BBYO’s Centennial Summer. On Thursday, November 2, registration will open for all of BBYO’s Summer Experiences around the world. BBYO's summer programs have existed for more than 50 years and attending a camp or travel experience is the perfect way to carry the torch of BBYO's long-standing tradition of leadership, Judaic exploration, and friendship. This will be a Summer Launch Night like you’ve never seen before. Members who claim a spot early will be eligible for limited edition Centennial swag items and big discounts on programs.

On Tuesday, November 28, teens, staff, advisors, alumni, parents, and supports will be rallying to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to celebrate 100 years of impacting the lives of Jewish teens worldwide. This is BBYO's largest fundraising day of the year. Money raised for your community, stays with your community. This ensures chapters and regions can continue to build fun and meaningful experience for Jewish teens for decades to come.

Global Shabbat

December 8-9, 2023

Since 1928, it has been tradition for all chapters and communities across the world to celebrate a special Shabbat as one community over the same weekend. During this historic year, mark our Centennial Global Shabbat in one of the following ways:

J-Serve + 100,000 Hours of Service

April 14, 2024

J-Serve is the International Day of Jewish Youth Service. Since 2005, J-Serve has provided teens with a unique opportunity to band together through service as a united global network.  Since 1924, tikkun olam has been a core value of AZA and BBG. In honor of 100 years of BBYO teens serving the world, we will rally to complete 100,000 hours of service starting in August 2023, culminating at J-Serve 2024. Every Jewish teen is invited to participate in their community’s efforts. BBYO is excited to launch an exclusive community service certificate program beginning in August 2023 for this effort.

Since 1924 and 1944, AZA and BBG have been shaped by exceptional teens and the adults around them. Every year, we honor the Movement's founders and history with big end-of-year chapter celebrations. In the month of May, every chapter will host their very own event as a part of the Founders’ Fest Initiative! Founders’ Fest events can be birthday parties, alumni reunions, celebrations for chartering new chapters, history tours of BBYO in your community, or anything in between. Program write-ups and grants will be available to help you build an awesome event.

Welcome aboard Black Yacht Weekend, a floating party created for black boaters to party on Lake Michigan each year. Boaters connect and party on the water while sitting against the stunning backdrop of Chicago’s iconic skyline. Since launching, Black Yacht Weekend has quickly become a highlight of the city’s summer calendar, drawing black boaters to the vibrant vibes of the water each year.

Enjoy a full weekend of parties, cruising on the water, and chilling in the Playpen. Grab your crew, find a boat and meet us in the water.

If you have any inquiries, please refer to our list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) provided below. In case you cannot find the answer you seek, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

A bareboat charter, as defined by the United States Coast Guard (USCG), is an arrangement granting the Charterer (the individual renting the yacht) temporary ownership and use of a vessel for a specified duration. Under this agreement, the Charterer assumes responsibility for the vessel, their guests, hiring their own Crew, and providing their own food and beverages.

It is important to note that the Charterer may either operate the vessel themselves if they possess the required credentials or choose to hire their own Captain and Crew.

However, it is crucial to adhere to the maximum passenger limit of 12 individuals for a bareboat chartered vessel.

For bareboat charters, the maximum capacity is 12 passengers, excluding the Captain and Crew.

The hired Captain and Crew are not counted as passengers. So, to clarify, the Charterer can bring a maximum of 11 guests.

Please keep in mind that infants and children are included in the total capacity count. Your Captain will count as an additional person, and the Crew can range from 1 to 2 people, depending on your specific requirements.

Once your booking is confirmed, Chi City Charters will provide you with a selection of qualified and approved Captains who have extensive knowledge of the yacht.

Our Captains can offer valuable recommendations regarding the number of Crew members you may require, depending on your specific charter plan. They have a network of experienced Crew members who are familiar with the yacht, and they can enhance your charter experience by providing additional safety, assistance, and service throughout your journey.

Alternatively, Charterers are welcome to provide their own certified Captain. It’s important to note that Captains are independent contractors hired directly by the Charterer and are not affiliated with or employed by Chi City Charters.

The rate for Captains typically ranges from $80 to $250 per hour, depending on their skills, experience, and qualifications, and this does not include gratuity.

It is customary to show appreciation to your hired Captain and Crew by leaving a gratuity of 18-25% of the total charter price (excluding the Captain’s hourly rate). Payment and gratuity should be made directly to your hired Captain.

Captains usually accept cash or payment through peer-to-peer platforms such as ApplePay, Venmo, Zelle, and others.

At Chi City Charters, we accept all major credit cards, including ApplePay, Venmo, Zelle, direct deposit, and cash, providing you with flexible payment options.

However, please be aware that we are unable to accept payment on behalf of your hired Captain or Crew, as they are separate contractors hired directly by the Charterer.

We recommend discussing the preferred method of payment with your hired Captain to ensure a smooth transaction process that aligns with their payment preferences.
