La Excursión a La Graciosa en Catamarán , es, sin duda, una experiencia única.

Visitar la isla de La Graciosa es, en sí, un placer para los sentidos.

Y hacerlo navengando a vela en un Catamarán de lujo es una aventura inolvidable.

Durante la excursión disfrutarás del espectacular y exclusivo Parque Natural y Reserva Marina de La Graciosa .

Pero también tendrás tiempo para relajarte y practicar actividades en las playas vírgenes de esta paradisíaca isla.

En los meses de julio, agosto y septiembre, pero sobre todo en agosto, te recomiendo reservar con una semana de antelación, como mínimo, porque, de lo contrario, es muy probable que no haya disponibilidad.

En cualquier caso, no dudes en llamarme o enviarme un Whastsapp porque, en ocasiones, hay cancelaciones de última hora.

DESCRIPCIÓN COMPLETA DE LA EXCURSIÓN A LA GRACIOSA EN CATAMARÁN

Traslado al Puerto de Órzola

Un autobús con aire acondicionado te recogerá en tu hotel para llevarte hasta el puerto de Órzola, al norte de Lanzarote.

En barco hasta La Graciosa

El Ferry Biosfera Express te trasladará desde Órzola hasta la Isla de La Graciosa.

Será un corto trayecto de unos 30 minutos en el que podrás disfrutar de las vistas panorámicas de la espectacular costa norte de Lanzarote.

La Graciosa en Catamarán

Ya en La Graciosa te subirás a bordo de un lujoso catamarán en el que te ofrecerán una copa de champán y aperitivos para comenzar tu aventura.

La excursión, una hora de viaje alrededor de la isla, te permitirá contemplar impresionantes vistas, paisajes únicos y espectaculares playas vírgenes.

Actividades y Relax

Después, el lujoso Catamarán echará el ancla en Playa Francesa , situada en el sur de La Graciosa.

Allí tendrás tiempo para relajarte, nadar y practicar buceo o kayak.

Además, podrás visitar la playa en taxi acuático donde habrá disponible una nevera con bebidas.

La hora del almuerzo

La comida se sirve a bordo y se compone de una ensalada mixta acompañada de pasta con dos tipos de salsas, verduras o atún, pan, fruta fresca y barra libre para las bebidas.

De paseo por La Graciosa

Después de finalizar el almuerzo, el Catamarán navegará a lo largo de la costa hasta desembarcar en el puerto de La Graciosa.

Una vez allí, podrás dar un paseo por la tranquila aldea de Caleta del Sebo para admirar las calles sin asfalto donde se detiene el tiempo.

Regreso al punto de partida

Media hora más tarde tendrá lugar el viaje de vuelta a Órzola donde un servicio de lanzadera le llevará de regreso a su punto de partida.

The pickup at the hotel was smooth then we took the bus to the port where we took the ferry to la Graciosa. A very nice little island that you must have seen, there we had an hour stay. Then we went to the beach by catamaran. The beach was abandoned and very nice for swimming and relaxing. The food was very reasonable for the price, there was as much to drink as you wanted. The whole team was very nice and helpful.

Perfect… All in all… A magnificent trip. Maximum rating for the guides, the crew, the cooks… We are delighted! They give you 1 h to walk around the village and then you get back on board and they open the bar. Then you anchor on a small beach and you can either go swimming, snorkelling, or get on a little boat and they will take you to the beach… And then the party goes on, with a paella and drinks. Description of this tour

After the bus picks us up, we drive to the port of Orzola, where we take the regular boat to La Graciosa. Then board the luxury catamaran and head to the remote beach Playa la Francesa, a hidden treasure. Here you drop anchor to enjoy the pleasures of the sea: sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, a few drinks and a delicious lunch - all inclusive. A wonderful way to spend a holiday!  After lunch, we sail back along the coast to the port of La Graciosa, and get some free time to watch the fishermen in the small village of Caleta del Sebo. Go to the handicraft market to purchase some souvenirs, or just take in the local life before the return ferry ride to Órzola.

A different way to get to know La Graciosa

Are you in Lanzarote , do you want to know La Graciosa aboard a catamaran and swim in the crystal clear waters of La Francesa beach?   Líneas Romero  makes it easy for you, because it has the perfect excursion to enjoy that unique experience that will make you fall in love with La Graciosa.

You do not have to worry about renting a car, since the excursion includes the collection of passengers at different points of Lanzarote to take them to the port of Órzola , in the extreme north, from where you embark at 11 in the morning bound for La Graciosa.

In 25 minutes you will have reached Caleta de Sebo , and while you are sailing you will have enjoyed the views of Punta Fariones and the Risco de Famara . Once in Caleta de Sebo the guides : Fabbiana, Una and ,   give a small explanation of the island to know a little better the customs, traditions and history of the eighth Canary Island, leaving some free time to visit Caleta de Sebo.

Stroll along the port, come to see the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen , or stroll and get lost in its sandy streets surrounded by white houses with blue or green doors.  Surely this walk leaves you wanting to return on another occasion.

Sailing on a catamaran through the waters of La Graciosa

After the tour you embark on the catamaran, where the crew welcomes passengers with an aperitif to start sailing through the calm waters of El Rio to Montaña Amarilla ; the volcanic symbol of the island with its 172 meters high .  There and a few meters from this impressive volcanic complex you can admire the colors and contrast of the ochres with that of its emerald waters.

The catamaran anchors on the beach of La Francesa , where the waters are very calm.  Once anchored there is the possibility of staying on the boat sunbathing and diving into its crystal clear waters, or going ashore in a small boat, enjoying the kayaks and sailing. But if you are one of those who like to sunbathe on the sand, swim or walk, you can go to Montaña Amarilla to see those surprising colors again. Its beach of La Cocina will make you fall in love with it.

Once the time of being on the beach is over, it is time to return to the boat to eat, because not every day you can enjoy a meal on a catamaran, and the boat returns to pick up all those who had gone ashore to take them back on board and taste a delicious paella made on board, next to a cool beer, a soft drink or sangria, overlooking the French beach

Sun, good weather, and an after-lunch with a coffee looking at Montaña Amarilla sitting on the nets of the catamaran watching under your feet the crystal clear water will put the end to this experience before raising the anchor and returning to Lanzarote.

The return is very lively and accompanied by music, because while it moves away from the beach of La Francesa, you can contemplate on one side the Risco de Famara , and on the other side Caleta de Sebo,   with music and a good animation of all the crew that make the return and navigation the most lively.

Enjoy a relaxing and fun La Graciosa day trip from Lanzarote in our catamaran trip. Combine some boat sailing with a visit to the island and a few hours of rest and activities on an almost wild beach.

Upon leaving Lanzarote we’ll see the Roque de Fariones , the northernmost point of Lanzarote. Note that the closest points between both islands are barely 1.2 km apart.

We will travel from Caleta del Sebo to the southernmost part, where we’ll find one of the island’s three volcanoes. From there, we’ll turn around 180 degrees to head towards Playa Francesa beach , a beautiful and quiet place where we will stop to bathe , kayak , snorkel , walk along the beach or simply relax in the sun . If you don’t want to swim to the beach, don’t worry, we’ll take you by boat.

At 16:30, we’ll take another Biosfera Express ferry to Orzola, where we’ll catch the bus that will take us back to our hotels.

We hope that upon finishing what we consider as 2 of the best boat trips in Lanzarote and returning to your hotel, you’ll be full of happy memories that will last a lifetime.

Dónde está La Graciosa

La Graciosa está situada al norte de Lanzarote , en las Islas Canarias. Es la mayor de las islas e islotes que componen el archipiélago de Chinijo , que son Montaña Clara, Roque del Este, Roque del Oeste y Alegranza. Todos ellos pertenecen al municipio de Teguise y constituyen un espacio natural protegido, conformando la reserva marina más grande de la Unión Europea, con unos 700 kilómetros cuadrados.

El punto de acceso para llegar a La Graciosa es el puerto de Órzola , en Lanzarote. Si te fijas en el mapa que hemos puesto al final de este post, está situado al norte de la isla. Desde aquí sale el ferry para ir a La Graciosa, así como las excursiones de las que te hablaremos a continuación para que puedas escoger cuál es la mejor opción y la que más se ajusta a tus necesidades.

Es importante saber que los barcos a La Graciosa, a no ser que hayas contratado un barco-taxi a otro lugar específico, llegan a Caleta del Sebo , que es la población principal de la isla. Ten en cuenta que aquí no encontrarás carreteras asfaltadas y que no es posible ir a La Graciosa en coche, tendrás que dejarlo aparcado en Órzola.

Cómo ir a La Graciosa desde Lanzarote

Es posible ir a La Graciosa en ferry y visitarla por libre o hacerlo en un tour organizado . Ambas formas son perfectas para explorarla, aunque si quieres desentenderte de la logística, ir más cómodo, no te apetece hacer mucho esfuerzo físico o, simplemente, quieres pasar un rato divertido en grupo, contratar una excursión a La Graciosa desde Lanzarote será tu mejor opción.

Cómo ir en ferry a La Graciosa

Para llegar en barco a La Graciosa, primero tendrás que ir hasta el puerto de Órzola, al norte de Lanzarote. Si ya estás en esta isla, tendrás que elegir entre hacerlo en guagua (bus), en taxi o en coche.

En el caso de las guaguas , lo más cómodo es mirar en Google Maps la combinación más cómoda poniendo el punto de partida. También puedes hacerlo en la página oficial de la empresa de transportes , donde se detallan las distintas líneas y sus horarios. Para que te hagas una idea, desde la estación de guaguas de Arrecife sale la línea 9, que llega a Órzola en más o menos una hora y cuyo billete individual cuesta 3,60€. Si estás en Playa Blanca o Puerto del Carmen , deberás ir primero hasta Arrecife y luego enlazar con la guagua número 9. En el caso de Costa Teguise, tendrás que ir hasta Teguise y hacer trasbordo.

Una opción más cómoda y que creemos mucho mejor de cara de explorar el resto de Lanzarote es alquilar un coche nada más llegar. Reservando con antelación en plataformas como Rentalcars o AutoEurope (las que usamos siempre nosotros) encontrarás precios diarios a partir de 25€. No debes preocuparte por la seguridad del vehículo si vas a hacer una excursión a La Graciosa porque las empresas de ferry tienen su aparcamiento vigilado cuyo coste está incluido en el precio del billete.

Los barcos para La Graciosa están operados por dos compañías: Líneas Romero y Biosfera Express. El recorrido desde Órzola hasta Caleta del Sebo y viceversa dura entre 25 y 30 minutos.

El precio del billete de ida y vuelta del ferry a La Graciosa son 28€ para adultos, 15€ para niños de 3 a 11 años y los menores de 3 viajan gratis.

Los residentes en las Islas Canarias tienen descuento y pagan 7€ por el billete de ida y vuelta. Los niños pagan 3,75€.

En dirección contraria, del barco de La Graciosa a Órzola , son:

• Líneas Romero: 8h, 8h40, 10h, 11h, 12h30, 15h, 16h, 17h, 18h (es el último del 19 de marzo al 29 de octubre) y 19h (es el último del 1 de julio al 28 de octubre).
• Biosfera Express: 7h, 8h30, 9h30, 10h30, 12h, 15h30, 16h30, 17h30 (es el último del 19 de marzo al 29 de octubre) y 18h30 (el último del 1 de julio al 28 de octubre).

Es recomendable que llegues al menos 15 minutos antes de la hora estimada de salida. Además, ten en cuenta que estos horarios pueden cambiar en algún momento por condiciones meteorológicas o razones organizativas.

Cómo ir en una excursión a La Graciosa desde Lanzarote

Visitar La Graciosa en una excursión es una manera agradable y sencilla de conocer la isla, ya que dejarás la organización del viaje en manos de una agencia especializada.

La Graciosa es un destino muy especial, ya que no cuenta con carreteras asfaltadas , por lo que, para visitar sus diferentes playas necesitarás caminar, alquilar una bici o moverte con los taxis 4×4 habilitados (con el correspondiente traqueteo). Es, por ello, que si estos planes no te parecen muy sugerentes, la opción de contratar una excursión a La Graciosa será mejor para ti.

Dentro de las posibles excursiones a La Graciosa desde Lanzarote, la que tiene una mejor relación calidad-precio y la más valorada por los viajeros es esta que incluye un maravilloso paseo en velero catamarán . ¿Por qué? Es la más completa de todas, ya que explorarás la singular población de Caleta del Sebo y después te montarás en un precioso catamarán que te llevará a descubrir el sur de La Graciosa, donde están playas tan bonitas como la de La Francesa o la de La Cocina, con el complejo volcánico de Montaña Amarilla al lado.

Nada más montarte en el velero empezarás a disfrutar de los espectaculares paisajes con un mojito y un pincho de tortilla en cada mano. Al llegar a La Francesa, podrás darte un chapuzón, hacer snorkel, dar un paseo en kayak o, si te apetece, nadar hasta la orilla y alucinar con una de las playas más bonitas de Canarias. Cuando estés saciado, te estará esperando una rica paella acompañada de una barra libre de cerveza, sangría, refrescos y agua. Para finalizar, seguirás navegando por las costas meridionales de la isla plácidamente mientras recibes información sobre La Graciosa. En definitiva, un plan redondo que puedes reservar desde este enlace .

En esta excursión están incluidos los traslados, guía de habla hispana, la comida indicada y barra libre de bebidas. Recuerda llevar tu equipo de snorkel, que por razones de higiene, no está incluido en la excursión. En caso de olvidártelo, en el barco te ofrecerán uno de pago por 14€.

• Playas del sur de la isla: Playa del Salado, Playa de La Francesa y Playa de La Cocina o de Montaña Amarilla.
• Playas del norte de La Graciosa: Playa de las Conchas y Playa Lambra.
• Arcos de los Caletones: formaciones volcánicas en el norte de la isla, situadas en el mar.
• Pedro Barba: el primer asentamiento de La Graciosa, con bonitas y cuidadas casas blancas. Aquí también te podrás dar un chapuzón en la playa.
• Barranco de los Conejos: una playa virgen accesible a pie desde Caleta del Sebo. Se suele practicar nudismo.

¿Cómo plantear la visita? Si solo tienes un día para el tour a La Graciosa, lo mejor es que contrates un taxi 4×4 en Caleta del Sebo para que te lleve a hacer la Ruta del Norte (Playa de las Conchas, Arcos de los Caletones, Playa Lambra y Pedro Barba), después, podrías ir también en taxi a Playa Francesa y caminar hacia Playa La Cocina. Otra idea es hacer toda la Ruta del Norte en bicicleta, pero ten en cuenta que esto te puede llevar 6 o 7 horas.

Para algo más relajado, podrías llegar a Caleta del Sebo y andar o ir en taxi hasta Playa Francesa para visitar esta y Playa La Cocina. Puedes subir hasta Montaña Amarilla y disfrutar de las vistas.

Dónde dormir en La Graciosa

Si estás pensando en hacer una excursión a La Graciosa desde Lanzarote un poquito más larga en la que al menos te quedes a dormir una noche (algo muy aconsejable para disfrutar de la isla tranquilamente cuando se van todos los visitantes), debes saber que en la isla no vas a encontrar grandes hoteles. La mayoría de los alojamientos se concentran en Caleta del Sebo , con alguno que otro en Pedro Barba, y son casi todos apartamentos o apartahoteles bastante coquetos.

Es recomendable que hagas tu reserva con antelación , ya que en temporada alta o, incluso, en fines de semana de temporada baja, pueden estar muy llenos. Además, algunos piden estancia mínima de 2 noches, por lo que, si te quieres quedar menos tiempo, deberás cribar más.

The Lanzarote La Graciosa catamaran trip

Having recently spent a month in Lanzarote we had plenty of time to explore the island and its neighbours. One of our most enjoyable and rememberable activities was the Lanzarote La Graciosa boat trip, which I will share with you but first, let me share some basics with you about La Isla La Graciosa

The Island of La Graciosa is one of the Canary Islands and is located within the Reserva Marina Del Archipielago Chinjo. It is the largest marine reserve in Europe and an area of untouched natural beauty. It is considered the fairest island in the Chinijo Archipelago, with golden sandy secluded beaches, placid horses and no asphalt roads. Graciosa Island is one of the last places in Europe that has no asphalt roads and very few cars. It is famed for being the most peaceful and least explored of the Canary Islands.

How to get to La Graciosa.

La Graciosa Isla can be reached by ferry from the Port of Ozolo situated in the North of Lanzarote. Departures are regular, every hour and the crossing is short, although it can be choppy. You can pre book ferry tickets or simply turn up and travel that day. The ferry will take you to the island’s capital, Caleta del Sebo, a modest town with a modest harbour. Alternatively, there are pre-arranged boat trips that sail from Lanzarote to La Graciosa. The Lanzarote La Grociosa boat trip is the option we took, but more on that later.

La Graciosa things to do and where to stay.

La Graciosa is a small island that does not get mass tourism so when it comes to things to do in La Graciosa your options are slightly more restricted. One of the most popular activities when visiting the island is the beach, so be sure to pack a swimsuit. The island benefits from the soft golden sand and turquoise blue water, often unlike its neighbour Lanzarote which is known for its volcanic sand. It also benefits from the year-round sunshine that blesses the other Canary Islands. La Graciosa weather is not dissimilar to Lanzarote or any other Canary Island in that you can rely on warm temperatures most of the year accompanied by a refreshing breeze.

Another popular tourist activity is to hire a bike and explore the island on two wheels. The island hosts trails that will take you to hidden corners safely. The trails are well signed posted and only take 45-50 minutes – you will be finished in time for lunch at one of the La Graciosa restaurants or bakery. Information on the trails is available from the rental shops or the tourist information. One of the most popular things to do when visiting La Graciosa is doing it by way of a day-long boat trip, which is what we did. More on that below.

Another point of interest on La Graciosa is Pedro Barba, a small town of summer residence on just 20 houses and as of 2018 was said to have just 3 inhabitants. The only service available is electricity and water – and a small beach. It can be reached via 4×4 or bike.

You will not find high rise hotels or busy complexes on the La Graciosa in fact La Graciosa hotels are non-existent. La Graciosa accommodation consists of guest houses, self-catering houses, apartments or a campsite. Just make sure you pre-book your La Graciosa holidays accommodation, particularly in busy times as it is few and far between.

The Lanzarote La Graciosa boat trip, or more specifically the catamaran trip to Isla Graciosa.

We booked our day trip online, via Trip Advisor. It came up after a quick Google search. The tour provider was Lineas Romeros , a well-known excursion provider in the Canary Islands and the specific excursion is called I Love La Graciosa.

The trip is incredibly user friendly, it departs from the Northern Port d’Orzola you can either make your own way there to board the Catamaran or you can take advantage of one of the many pick-ups located across Lanzarote. As we did not have car hire on this particular trip (one of the many devastating effects of the pandemic) we opted for the pickup. We were picked up just outside our hotel – Gloria Izaro in Puerto Del Carmen and driven to the port. The pick up had several stops and probably took around 30-40 minutes in total. This would of course vary depending on where you are staying.

Quite surprisingly the whole logistical organisation was impeccable. Not being known for their timekeeping we hadn’t expected the coach to arrive as punctually as it did, neither did we expect such rigorous timekeeping throughout the day. We stood corrected.

We boarded the catamaran from the busy port d’Ozola, where a couple of other ferries and excursions were setting off that day and set sail across the short stretch to La Graciosa. My sea legs are not the strongest and it was very choppy and a particularly breezy day, despite being the height of August. While the majority of the passengers found this crossing particularly entertaining I found myself cowering inside away from the waves willing us to get there.

But get there we did to the capital of Caleta Del Sebo, the crossing took around 25 minutes. You get an hour in this small town, which in some ways could be construed to be sufficient as there aren’t huge amounts to do. That said we would like to have hired the bikes and do one of the trails around the island but given these take 40-50 minutes and we had two children we were not confident we would do it all in time. Particularly when you disembark you are given a brief history and information about the town by the crew. The crew speak English, French, German and Spanish and this catered for the overwhelming majority of passengers.

So we took a stroll around Caleta Del Sebo, frequented one of its two supermarkets to get a bag of crisps and packets of cookies for the kids, walked down its dirt roads to the local church and police station – not that I imagine there is much cause for the station and then made our way back to the catamaran.

We were not allowed back on board the catamaran until the hour was up as the crew were busy preparing refreshments but once back on board we were treated to a slice of Spanish tortilla and a mojito if you so fancied. The catamaran trip was all-inclusive so you could have unlimited free drinks all day, you just had to retain your plastic cup. Another covid enforced requirement. Oh, and you had to pay for coffee.

The next port of call is Montana Amarilla, you don’t disembark but you do get a good view of the yellow coloured volcanic range. It is a charming natural structure that stands at 172m and can be explored by foot.

However, we then sailed on to Playa Francesca where the catamaran dropped anchor and here we stayed for a couple of hours. Once anchored you could get a water taxi to the golden sandy beach, swim to it or stay onboard and spend your time jumping off the catamaran and snorkelling in the surrounding waters. Pre-pandemic I do believe this excursion would have offered the use of googles and snorkelling equipment, however, this was no longer an option but you could purchase a set for €10. We bought our own with us.

As I mentioned it was a particularly breezy August day and even when anchored up the waters were rather choppy. Being breezy was actually a blessing in disguise because the temperatures had soared to the mid to late thirties that day on land, so we were happy to take advantage of the breeze. Deciding my time would be best spent on the dry, warm confines of the boat I stayed on board. Mark and the children however revelled in jumping off the sides in the surprisingly cold waters. They didn’t stay in them for long. There was a bit of rush to jump ship as soon as it had anchored so it was quite congested at the back and side, and indeed in the water. You’re probably best to allow the traffic to subside before rushing into the water. If jumping off a catamaran isn’t your thing then you could walk down the steps that are lowered into the waters at the front of the boat.

After giving everyone some time to disembark, swim, frequent the beach lunch was served. Lunch was mixed meat and fish paella cooked in two huge pots, accompanied with French stick and fresh melon. Option B for the vegetarian was pasta and tomato sauce. The food was perfectly nice and had ample portions. If you want the pasta option you need to pre-order this, something we didn’t do (the kids wanted pasta), much to the crews’ disgruntled faces. The only downside with the particular strong breeze, dare I say wind, was eating was tricky. Napkins were blowing, hair was in your face and it just wanted an easy mealtime.

You spend about two hours here before pulling up the anchor and sailing back to Celta del Sebo to drop the water taxi back to the harbour. It certainly was an interesting sail back and very, very choppy. The catamaran hugs the coastline in an attempt to shelter you from the wind and waves, nonetheless, the waves still lapped aboard the front of the catamaran, spraying those attempting to chill on its netting.

I wasn’t particularly keen on sailing back, the waves were visibly boisterous and I felt somewhat uneasy. That said I was in for a great surprise as the catamaran crew pulled out all the stops to put all passengers at ease. Being experienced sea fairers they were not phased by a few rough seas and put on an unexpected but welcomed show. They played topical music, think Highway to Hell and Mercy as they donned colourful wigs and air guitars. They danced flamenco and Spanish salsa and had everyone clapping, laughing and joining in, distracting you from the now very bumpy ride back. It certainly worked and took my mind off the encroaching fear and had me smiling along instead.

After swiftly depositing the water taxi at the harbour you then sail the 25 minutes back to Lanzarote where you disembark and re-on your coach to take you back to your pick up point. A coach full of weary, sun tired and windswept passengers sat in almost silence as they nodded to sleep back to their hotels.

Despite the waves, the cold waters and winds it was a fantastic day out that I would say are worth doing. Our children loved it and wanted to do it again. They had a good mix of chill time and activity and it was a nice change from hotel life.

At the time of sailing, masks were mandatory in Spain on public transport and inside. We were required to wear our masks as we crossed from Lanzarote to La Graciosa but once onboard at La Graciosa island and for the remainder of the trip they were no longer required.

The trip cost €59 per adult and €35 per child (seniors are €53). We didn’t however pay this price and paid just €100.00 for the four of us, quite unexpectedly and presumably as a promotion running through the third party we booked with. At €100.00 for the whole family, I would say this is great value for money for an all-inclusive day out that lasts around 6 hours. Had we paid full price I am not sure I would have been as enthusiastic, but then my children are younger at 6 and 7 and perhaps couldn’t take advantage of the entire day in ways older children could.

If you are planning a boat trip while visiting Lanzarote I would certainly recommend this Lanzarote La Graciosa excursion it is a bit different and offers a fun family day out. I would however shop around a bit on the prices.

Pourquoi visiter l’île de La Graciosa?

L’île de la graciosa en vaut-elle la peine.

Oui. Absolument. C’est un des lieux les plus magnifiques à voir depuis Lanzarote. L’île est beaucoup plus sauvage avec des plages de sable, de volcans colorés et une ambiance bout du monde!

C’est l’une des  meilleures attractions à faire à Lanzarote .

Réservez votre ferry – comment se rendre à La Graciosa

La Graciosa est située à seulement 2 km au nord de Lanzarote.

• Si vous avez votre propre voiture, conduisez jusqu’à Orzola et montez à bord d’un des ferries (piétons). 2 compagnies proposent un ferry pour La Graciosa plusieurs fois par jour. Il faut 25 minutes pour traverser. Voir les options de ferry et réservez votre place
• Si vous n’avez pas de voiture mais que vous voulez faire votre propre visite – vous pouvez réserver un tour en ferry avec les transferts depuis les principales stations balnéaires En savoir plus et réserver

L’île de La Graciosa en chiffre

Et maintenant quelques faits pour vous donner une meilleure idée de l’île de La Graciosa:

• L’île est très aride avec un sol sec – seulement du sable, des roches volcaniques et des cônes volcaniques
• Elle mesure environ 8 km de long et 4 km de large
• Le point culminant est Agujas Grande qui culmine à 266m
• Il n’y a que 2 petits villages: Caleta del Sebo où arrive le ferry et Pedro Barba, le village d’origine

Que faire sur l’île de la Graciosa

Si vous cherchez un petit paradis pour la journée, La Graciosa devrait être votre  excursion au départ de Lanzarote :

• Profiter des plages À notre avis, La Graciosa offre les  plus belles plages de Lanzarote  (même si techniquement ce n’est pas Lanzarote…) – sable fin, eaux turquoise et cratères volcaniques à l’arrière-plan… Vous verrez sur les photos ci-dessous qu’elles ressemblent au paradis
• Explorez le reste de l’île avec l’un des taxis 4×4 Il n’y a pas de route et seulement quelques véhicules autorisés. Ne manquez pas l’arche faite de roches volcaniques. Réserver à l’avance votre tour en 4×4!
• Randonner Par exemple, marcher jusqu’à la plage la plus célèbre, Playa Francesa et profiter de la lagune sur le chemin
• Déguster de fruits de mer frais à Caleta del Sebo

1. Profiter du voyage en ferry vers La Graciosa

Il y a 2 compagnies qui font plusieurs allers-retours dans la journée. Elles sont équivalentes et se relaient à tour de rôle. Les bateaux sont assez grands et stables, avec de grandes fenêtres. Il faut 25 minutes pour traverser jusqu’à La Graciosa. Le ferry La Graciosa part d’Orzola, un petit village de pêcheurs sur la côte nord de l’île de Lanzarote.

Pendant la traversée en ferry, vous pourrez admirer la côte nord de Lanzarote avec ses impressionnantes falaises. Nous devons tourner autour du point le plus au nord qui est Punta Fariones et, comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo ci-dessous, vous pouvez apprécier les falaises des deux côtés. Puis vous naviguez sur le canal El Rio entre les deux îles (que vous pouvez très bien voir de Mirador del Rio).

Et puis vous vous approchez de La Graciosa. Le sable doré et les volcans rouges contrastent avec le bleu profond de l’eau. C’est fascinant. Le ferry La Graciosa arrive à Caleton del Sebo, principale zone touristique et port de pêche.

2. Caleta del Sebo – la ville de La Graciosa

Caleta del Sebo est le plus grand village de l’île de La Graciosa, elle est donc considérée comme sa « capitale ». C’est là que le ferry arrive et il fait face aux falaises de Famara. Ses principales activités sont le tourisme et la pêche. Vous y trouverez de nombreux restaurants, des hébergements, un petit supermarché, les premiers soins… Les rues ne sont pas goudronnées. Et comme à Lanzarote, les maisons sont blanches avec des accents de couleur.

4. Playa Francesa: la plage de La Graciosa

La plage la plus célèbre de La Graciosa est Playa Francesa parce que c’est la plage sauvage la plus accessible depuis le port. Elle est située à l’ouest, face aux falaises de Famara. Comme vous pouvez le voir ci-dessous, le sable est doré, l’eau turquoise et à l’arrière-plan, le côté rouge de Montana Amarilla. Nous aimons vraiment la combinaison de couleurs.

Ci-dessous se trouve un gros plan de Montana Amarilla. Elle est célèbre pour son côté jaune que nous verrons avec la prochaine plage. Mais nous avons déjà apprécié sa couleur et sa forme d’ici. Elle atteint 178 m d’altitude et a été créée lors d’éruptions datant d’il y a 3000 à 5000 ans. Son nom signifie la ‘Montagne Jaune’ parce que de Lanzarote tout ce que vous voyez est jaune.

Vous pouvez atteindre la plage depuis Caleta del Sebo soit en marchant (principalement sur le sable) de 45 minutes à 1 heure, soit en utilisant l’un des taxis 4×4 (moins de 10 minutes). Et puis vous pouvez monter à pied pour arriver à notre prochain arrêt Playa Amarilla, mais n’oubliez pas de regarder en arrière pour voir la plage de Playa Francesa d’en haut.

5. Playa Amarilla

Notre prochain arrêt est une autre plage de La Graciosa: Playa Amarilla. Elle ne peut être atteinte qu’à pied, 15min de marche supplémentaire depuis Playa Francesa. Au bout de la première plage, vous pouvez voir un sentier sablonneux qui monte. Ensuite, la promenade est en grande partie plate.

Vous arrivez au-dessus de Playa Amarilla qui se trouve dans une toute petite baie (Bahia de la Cocina) protégée par le côté jaune du volcan. Pourquoi est-il jaune? Parce que les milliers d’années d’érosion par le vent et l’eau ont enlevé la couche écarlate de lave et exposé les roches de tuf ocre. Les couleurs sont si vives, c’est hypnotisant!

Attention, la descente est un peu glissante. Mais la combinaison de couleurs et de formes dans la plage en fait est un endroit unique dans les îles Canaries.

Ou, au lieu de descendre à la plage, vous pouvez marcher à travers les rochers vers le sud. De cette façon, vous aurez une vue magnifique sur le versant jaune de la montagne.

6. Playa del Salado

Entre Playa Francesa et Caleta del Sebo se trouve Playa del Salado le long de la piste. Ce n’est pas un rêve comme les autres plages, mais il y a une sorte de lagune, donc c’est sûr avec les enfants.

Note: certaines personnes essaient de couper par le milieu pour un retour plus rapide à la ville, mais cela peut être assez profond dans certaines zones, il est donc préférable de rester plus près de la plage.

7. Playa de Las Conchas et Isla de Montana Clara

L’autre plage très célèbre de La Graciosa est Playa de la Conchas. Elle est située plus loin du port sur la côte nord-ouest de l’île. Elle offre une grande zone de sable doré et de petites dunes de sable, vue sur l’Isla de Montana Clara et son propre cône volcanique: Montana Bermeja qui s’élève à 154m.

Il faut compter moins de 15min de trajet en taxi 4×4 et il faut probablement 1h15 à 1h30 pour atteindre à pied les dunes de sable. Il s’agit de 5,5 km de pistes de sable et de terre. Les sites web disant qu’il faut 45min à pied doivent être écrits par des gens qui font des compétitions de type ironmen… C’est l’une des plus grandes étendues de sable autour de Lanzarote – 400m de long et 100m de large. C’est tentant, n’est-ce pas? Cependant, ce n’est pas la plus sûre pour nager… Réserver à l’avance votre tour en 4×4!

L’autre raison pour laquelle elle est célèbre est sa vue imprenable sur la petite île: isla de Montana Clara. Elle est située à 1,6 km au nord de La Graciosa. Il s’agit en fait d’un cratère volcanique de 256 m de haut avec des pentes abruptes plongeant dans l’eau.

Si vous regardez vers le Nord, vous pouvez distinguer la forme d’une autre petite île: isla de Alegranza, un autre volcan.

8. Caleton de los Arcos, l’arche de Lava

Mais La Graciosa n’offre pas seulement des plages. Vous pouvez également trouver des falaises étonnantes où la coulée de lave a rencontré l’océan. Cela a créé des colonnes de basalte et des formes fascinantes, y compris les célèbres arcs qui donnent son nom à Caleton de los Arcos. Il est situé sur la côte nord de l’île. Réserver à l’avance votre tour en 4×4!

Une fois de plus, nous aimons les couleurs et le contraste avec la roche volcanique noire, le sable doré, le ciel bleu et le volcan rouge (de l’autre côté de la même avec la scie sur la Playa de la Conchas) : Montana Bermeja. Sur la photo ci-dessous, vous pouvez voir 2 personnes. Cela peut vous donner une idée de l’échelle des choses:

Nous aurions pu passer des heures à photographier la côte volcanique… mais le chauffeur était pressé. Nous comprenons qu’il veuille d’autres courses et nous étions prêts à payer plus pour rester plus longtemps, mais il n’écoutait pas du tout…

9. Playa Lambra

À l’est de Los Arcos se trouve la plage de La Lambra. Peu de gens viennent ici. Il y a de petites dunes de sable blanc et quelques roches qui contrastent avec le sable de cette baie ronde délicate.

10. Pedro Barba, village isolé

Au nord-est du port, se trouve le village d’origine de Pedro Barba. Aujourd’hui, seules quelques maisons font le village. Et la plupart sont des locations pour ceux qui veulent s’éloigner de la civilisation. C’est si calme, face aux falaises de Famara de Lanzarote:

Il a une petite plage et est protégé du vent venant de l’ouest.

Alternative en Catamaran

Si vous ne voulez pas prendre de bus ou conduire, il y a aussi des tours en catamaran au départ de Puerto del Carmen. Vous apprécierez la traversée sur un magnifique catamaran, compléterez le tour de l’île en bateau et profiterez d’activités telles que le snorkeling ou le taxi-boat jusqu’à l’île. Comment se déplacer sur La Graciosa

Se déplacer à La Graciosa n’est pas vraiment facile. L’île est petite mais quand même assez grande à faire à pied: 8 km de long sur 4 km de large sans ombre ni source d’eau. Il n’y a pas de routes pavées.

3 options: 1 – Marcher jusqu’à un seul endroit tel que Playa Francesa 2 – Utilisez l’un des taxis 4×4 pour vous rendre quelque part et organiser un ramassage plus tard pour le retour 3 – Choisissez un tour de l’île avec l’un des taxis 4×4 – ils incluent Playa Francesa, Playa La Conchas, Caleton de los Arcos, Pedra Barba

Où dormir – Hébergement à La Graciosa

Si vous voulez faire l’expérience de l’île un peu plus longtemps ou si vous voulez vous couper un peu du monde (bien qu’il y a la 4G sur l’île!), vous pouvez également rester pour quelques nuits soit à Caleton del Sebo ou à Pedro Barba. Il y a quelques locations, des boutiques et des restaurants sur l’île. Voir les hébergements sur l’île de La Graciosa .

Où manger à La Graciosa

Si vous n’avez pas amené votre pique-nique, vous trouverez quelques restaurants dans le village Caleta del Sebo. C’est idéal pour manger des tapas ou des fruits de mer. Mais sachez que l’offre est limitée Par exemple:

La travesía de El Río vuelve con todo su ímpetu tras dos años en el dique seco por caprichos del tiempo. El desafío de enfrentarse a la inmensidad que separa Lanzarote y La Graciosa es una prueba única, que atrapa desde la primera brazada .

El sinuoso trayecto se transforma en una hermosa competición en aguas abiertas tan exigente como adictiva. Son muchos los asiduos a esta 'fiesta' sobre el océano seducidos por el embrujo del El Río. Un tributo a la pasión por las nadadas , que cada edición es diferente. En esta nueva lucha la pelea ha sido la constante. Aunque a priori la distancia parece asumible (apenas tres kilómetros), no está exenta de dificultades y en el trasfondo siempre subyace la épica de los avezados nadadores, cuya obsesión es finalizar.

La travesía a nado entre Lanzarote y La Graciosa congregará a unos 500 participantes

El Río, serpenteante y cautivador, se convierte en una pasarela de gloria, salpicada de mucho sufrimiento , que conecta dos mundos de contrastes: La Graciosa, con su serenidad playera, y Lanzarote, con su imperial majestuosidad volcánica. Entre estos paraísos, se extiende un territorio indomable donde las corrientes antojadizas y las aguas cambiantes danzan al compás del Atlántico.

Sobre el crispado y revuelto horizonte, con olas salpicadas de ilusión y nervios, el mar se extiende bajo un lienzo más de gorros de color rosa, que dibujan la singladura de costa a costa. Cada brazada es un trazo de espuma, cada respiración una lucha contra la infinitud del mar y contra uno mismo. Cada metro un pensamiento. 

Las inquietas aguas azules seducen al nadador como un amor implacable , y el cansancio se hace sentir en cada músculo. Pero el espíritu de los participantes se eleva por encima de la adversidad y las ansias por tocar tierra superan el desaliento.

El apoyo de las embarcaciones acompañantes , del Instituto Fisioterapia Avanzada de Lanzarote y de los equipos de seguridad son esenciales en esta odisea, que gana más certidumbre y encanto al reducir participantes. No obstante, si la llegada volviera a la rampa del muelle como antaño, donde el pueblo graciosero en peso envolvía con sus aplausos a los nadadores, el Río tendría un verdadero ‘happy end’. Sin embargo, los mandatos de las codiciosas navieras en busca de pingües beneficios y subvenciones se imponen a un final de leyenda que los más veteranos añoramos con rabia y melancolía. El tránsito de barcos , que jamás debería ser compatible con el esfuerzo del nadador, se produce cuando aún hay competidores en el tramo final de agua de forma incomprensible.

La llegada a la playa de Caleta Cebo, mucho menos excitante y mareante es, pese a todo, un triunfo personal y un tributo a la belleza de El Río. Esta travesía, en definitiva, resulta mucho más que una competición deportiva; representa un viaje de conexión con la naturaleza más salvaje y de sumar desafíos . Un recordatorio de que, a veces, los límites están destinados a ser superados con esfuerzo y 'cabecita'. En este brazo de mar saciamos temporalmente la pasión por nadar en aguas abiertas en total libertad, pero siempre deseando volver a surcar y enfrentarnos al abismo del Río. Hasta entonces.
