F&S Boatworks 82 Reviewed

  • July 5, 2024

F&S 82 Special Situation

F&S Boatworks’ latest creation, the 82-foot Special Situation , represents the culmination of its decades of experience creating custom builds to chase big fish.

The F&S Boatworks story charts a distinct course in the world of custom boatbuilding, literally beginning from the hull up. Back in the 1970s, Jim Floyd, a master carpenter with an angler’s passion, found inspiration in the ride of his family’s 23-foot SeaCraft—a vessel renowned for its ability to brave seas that sent others scurrying back to port. His journey took him to Wanchese, North Carolina, the cradle of the East Coast’s finest custom boatbuilders. There, Floyd not only honed his fishing skills, but also immersed himself in the craft of building classic cold-molded sport-fishermen.

F&S 82 Special Situation

By 1996, Floyd launched the first F&S: the 59-foot Fin-Ally . This vessel quickly gained acclaim, not just for its speed and elegant lines, but for its seakeeping abilities, thanks to a longitudinally stepped variable-deadrise hull inspired by the original SeaCraft design. F&S’ reputation stands tall among custom builders, a testament to Jim Floyd’s legacy, which is now steered by his nephew, John Floyd.

Built to replace their previous F&S of the same name, the new Special Situation showcases the builder’s first-rate finish carpentry throughout the salon, companionway and staterooms. The salon has a U-shaped couch to port and a smaller loveseat directly opposite, with plenty of hidden stowage beneath each for bulky items such as tackle bins and large spools of monofilament line. Moving forward, a trio of barstools line the bar top to port, with the galley set against the forward bulkhead. An electrically activated liquor elevator hidden in the corner rises and falls flush into the countertop. It’s a cool touch. The salon windows are made using dimmable glass, which turns from clear to opaque with the touch of a button, eliminating the need for blinds or valances.

F&S 82 Special Situation

Moving forward, down the gracefully curving teak-trimmed companionway, the master stateroom is to port with a king berth and en suite head. There is a forepeak VIP stateroom, also with an en suite head,, while two additional guest bunkrooms are to starboard with an additional shared head. Aft is a generous crew room with a private head that includes three bunks and a tackle stowage center, which is hidden behind a false wall.

Special Situation ’s cockpit has F&S’ signature curved steps that make it easy and safe to transition from the teak deck to the mezzanine, even in rough seas. There’s a tackle center to hold everything required for chasing pelagics such as marlin, tuna and wahoo offshore, while the mezzanine also has both refrigerated and freezer stowage beneath the comfortable (and air-conditioned) seating. There’s also a hidden purified-water dispenser for the anglers and crew to reduce reliance on single-use plastic bottles.

F&S 82 Special Situation

A trio of Release Marine teak helm chairs on the flybridge are oriented behind the centerline teak helm pod. Three Garmin multifunction displays are flush-mounted within a non-glare matte panel, while the controls for the omnidirectional sonar are located to the starboard of the helm. A drop-down in the overhead houses the dual MTU engine displays while an additional Garmin drop-down display is also mounted overhead for viewing while facing the trolling spread aft. There are wraparound bench seats forward of the helm with cavernous freezer stowage located within the helm itself, complete with customized dividers.

One of the hallmarks of any F&S is the performance. Powered by a pair of 2,600 hp MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, cruising speed is reportedly 36 knots at 2,000 rpm and 80 percent engine load. The builder says fuel burn is just south of 200 gallons per hour at cruise. Backing off to 1,650 rpm, speed is 28 knots while fuel burn drops to 122 gph. At the other end of the spectrum, top-end speed is 42-plus knots at 2,450 rpm. Performance is enhanced by the use of CJR props and wake-adapted running gear, which provides cleaner water flow to the wheels than a conventional setup. Despite a displacement of more than 110,000 pounds, Special Situation is one of the fastest vessels in this size range on the water today.

Construction begins with an intricate jig framework

  • The jig is assembled from carefully pre-cut sections.
  • Each individual stringer is built, from the keel out.
  • Simultaneously another group of workers starts to work on the sheer of the boat

Finishing the Hull

The F&S hull layup process utilizes three layers of half-inch Okume plywood on the bottom with an extra inch for good measure in the engine room and bulkheads and a layer of biaxial fiberglass between the second and third layer of Okume. This gives extra strength to stress points and the boat’s heavy machinery.

Kevlar-Lamination for Strength

Hull bottoms are laminated in kevlar to add additional strength, rigidity, and puncture protection.

Used F-And-S Yachts For Sale

About f&s yachts.

For over 20 years, F&S Yachts has created some of the most beautiful and cutting-edge sports fishing yachts on the market. Lovingly crafted by internationally recognized hull designer Jim Floyd and his team, F&S Yachts are built for speed and endurance, with cold-molded hulls and the latest technology that slice through the waves like a knife through butter. Each boat is custom-built to your individual specifications, from the exterior finishes to the silverware, making F&S Yachts the superior choice for serious fisherman. Based in Jim’s native Delaware, the F&S shipyard has produced over 30 stunning, eminently fishable yachts since 1997. Shunning the assembly line, F&S’s ethos of handcraftsmanship ensures that each F&S yacht is unique and tailor-made. At F&S Yachts, artisan-quality workmanship and cutting-edge technology are the order of the day.

More About F&S Yachts

By the time F&S got its start in 1997, Delaware native and founder Jim Floyd already had several decades of experience as a master carpenter and cabinetmaker under his belt. These skills, combined with his intensive study of custom Carolina boat shops in the 1970s, formed the bedrock of F&S’s obsessive dedication to craftsmanship. After ten years of experimentation, Jim built his first yacht in a humble Delaware chicken barn. The result, the 57-foot Fin-ally – a play on his love of fishing and the many years Jim dedicated to studying the art of boat building – was an unprecedented sport fishing boat that combined the longitudinally stepped, variable deadrise hull of his beloved SeaCraft with a topside characteristic of North Carolina fleets. The Fin-ally provided the model for the specialty-engineered hulls that F&S is world-renowned for, reducing air friction to ensure a sleek, smooth, fast ride. Not one to rest on their laurels, F&S has continued to refine and develop their craft over the years, devoting their efforts producing the perfect offshore fishing machines. While perfection is a tall order, F&S yachts delivers. A typical F&S yacht is quick, steady and exceptionally rideable, with a rounded but aerodynamic aesthetic that manages to look both timeless and futuristic. Their unique and rightly lauded hulls are phenomenally efficient, minimising horsepower without compromising speed.

F&S Models

A remarkable synthesis of form and function, the F&S 75 is not just a pretty face. This streamlined vessel combines beautiful, rounded lines, a sharply pointed bow, and rich, luxurious finishes with high-tech amenities such as a Seakeeper 9 control panel, Furuno sonar, and a Simrad autopilot controller. 12-cylinder MANs ensure a responsive and easily trimmed ride as the vessel comfortably reaches 32 knots. The gorgeous salon is finished with wood grain and features windows that curve downward to a sharp point, outfitted with dimmable privacy glass. The overall effect is luxurious but understated, exuding a sense of pampered calm. The horizontal grain woodwork has a relaxed but highly refined Scandinavian feel most evident in the minimal but spacious galley kitchen. The F&S 61 is equipped with a stateroom for crew and day guests, as well as a master stateroom to starboard with plenty of storage and an ensuite bathroom with a full shower. Forward is the VIP room with an ensuite bathroom, a snug but comfortable raised queen bed with storage flanking the hullsides.

One of the standout features of this model is the stunning fighting chair in the immaculate cockpit, made of warm, polished teak. Fixed to a gleaming optical chrome platform, this chair is ready to withstand the rigors of heavy battle with marlin and bluefin tuna.

This handsome vessel looks as good in dock as it does flying through the open water. It epitomizes F&S’s mission to combine luxury with serious functionality – every aspect of this yacht’s construction is for a purpose, its beauty a result of F&S’s pragmatic artistry. The spacious, curvy salon is equipped with storage below an elegant teak table. An expansive mezzanine seating area, spacious tackle storage, a watertight lazarette hatch, and three large-capacity freezers are just a few of the amenities housed in the generous 170-square-foot cockpit, which also features a 55-gallon transom livewell. On the bridge, there are three pedestal seats and 11 rod holders ideal for dynamic, multi-species fishing. With four staterooms, including a master with an en suite bathroom and big screen TV, the F&S 75 is perfect for a group fishing expedition or for fishing enthusiasts who want to bring their family along for the ride. And what a ride it will be: with a 75-foot engine room and twin M94 MTU diesel engines and a 37-knot cruise speed, the F&S 75 can take on the high seas with ferocious grace.

The F&S 72 is a big, powerful beauty. The shipyard’s fastidious craftmanship ensures close tolerances impossible to achieve on a mass-produced scale. The gentle curves characteristic of F&S’s design are out in full force on this model: the wood-finished kitchen – complete with a two-seater breakfast bar – is gently raised from the salon by two sinuous steps that snake starboard. An S-shaped companionway runs from the crew quarters to the forward cabin with a private shower. A king-size, portside master bedroom is outfitted with the same warm wood that furnishes yacht’s interior. Opposite the master is a three-person guest cabin with access to another bathroom complete with shower. The flybridge features a Palm Beach-style helm with access on either side to the forward lounge seating. Fearsome twin MTU 16V2000CR engines ensure this expansive but sporty yacht easily reaches 30 knots.

Yacht with 1,000 rounds of ammunition and fireworks burns in Marina del Rey

A yacht in flames in Marina del Rey

Marina del Rey’s harbor produced an unexpected light show Wednesday evening as a luxury yacht loaded with ammunition and fireworks burned for more than two hours before flames were extinguished, authorities said.

Flames leaped 20 to 30 feet from the 100-foot vessel, dubbed the Admiral, while live ammunition rounds could be heard firing from the boat, according to videos from the scene .

Thursday morning, the charred yacht was lying on its side, and the water around it was tinted red from the diesel fuel dumped from the vessel.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials said two passengers aboard the boat exited without injuries. No information was available about the cause of the blaze.

Fire officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The boat, traveling at a high speed, crashed into the jetty near its slip, killing a man. It would have been much worse, if not for the quick thinking of a passenger.

Firefighters responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and eventually knocked out the flames at 10:33 p.m. The boat was declared fully submerged.

The yacht’s owner, who was not identified, told fire officials that the vessel was carrying 1,000 rounds of ammunition and fireworks.

U.S. Coast Guard personnel confirmed they were on the scene evaluating cleanup options. A Coast Guard spokesperson said an estimated 4,000 gallons of diesel was dumped into the water. The total is not official as monitoring continues.

Best waterproof bags for paddlesport enthusiasts

  • September 16, 2024

Sian Lewis, travel journalist and founder of The Girl Outdoors put her love of outdoor adventures to the test as she reviewed the best waterproof bags for paddlesport that are up to the challenge of her next trip.

Musto Dry Tube 20

From navigating whitewater rapids in an inflatable raft to stand-up paddleboarding off the coast of your next holiday destination or even taking your kids on their first canoe trip down your closest river, never head out on the water without this essential companion – the best waterproof bags for paddlesport.

At a glance – editors 3 top choices – best waterproof bags for paddlesport

  • Mustang Survival Greenwater Deck Bag 35 Litre
  • Red 60 Litre Getaway Kit Bag 60 Litre

Why is a waterproof bag a necessity for any paddlesport adventure?

With any escapade, it’s important to plan ahead. While planning isn’t the most exciting part of the trip, when it comes to a paddle sporting experience, it can make the difference between getting your belongings wet if they fall into the water or stolen if they are left on dry land.

Everything you place in your regular bag, including your wallet, car keys and snacks can be safely stored in a waterproof option. Plus, you can create a kit, especially for your paddlesport trips, which can feature items like a whistle, personal locator beacon and more.

While there are hundreds of waterproof bags for paddlesport enthusiasts available on the market, we’ve tested options that are great for budget, quality and space.

1 / Sea to Summit Big River Dry Backpack 50 Litre

Specifications:

Material: nylon Capacity: 50 litres Colour: black, red Lash loops: 10 Weight: 760g

Reason to buy: waterproof, great padded straps, tons of room Reason to avoid: heavier than simple dry bags

Big River by name, big capacity by nature – this roomy backpack takes a whopping 50 litres of kit, which is enough for multiple days of exploring on a hiking trail, a weekend sailing trip or a camping adventure. The Big River is as waterproof and durable as it looks, and on test we got the impression that this pack would withstand rough treatment on wild waters without turning a hair.

This design is minimalist compared to proper hiking backpacks aimed for use on dry land, but unlike traditional rucksacks, the Big River is fully waterproofed with a nylon shell, so your stuff will stay dry even if you’re trekking in the heaviest rain. On the outside the pack sports a whopping 10 lash loops in two daisy chains, making it easy to attach the pack to a board, boat or bike.

The plentiful loops are also useful for tying wet kit to the outside of your backpack when you’re on the go. Unlike many waterproof backpacks we’ve reviewed in the past, this bag sports comfy padded straps, so you can still hike long distances to get to your paddlesport spot while wearing it. There’s also a hip strap, but it’s a pity it’s not padded for extra support. Encountering foul weather or heading for the water? Just roll this bag three times to seal it. The white interior makes it easy to see what kit you’ve packed but does get dirty and stained easily. A field repair buckle is included, and the Big River is available in black and dark red/orange – we prefer the latter as it makes you a tad more visible on the water, although the black version is neutral enough that you could use it for commuting to work.

This pack weighs 760 grams so it’s quite heavy compared to simple dry bag designs, but you’re getting a proper backpack for your money (and if you need even more room, there’s also a 75-litre version available). This design is expensive but worth the spend if you need a dry bag-meets-backpack for all kinds of adventure.

2 / Itiwit Duffle Bag 5 Litre

Material: polyester Capacity: 5 litres Colour: orange, yellow Lash Loops: 1 Weight: 290g

Reasons to buy: bright orange is great for safety, great value, strap Reasons to avoid: splashproof only

You’ll be easy to spot coming if you’re sporting Itiwit’s bright duffle bag – this vividly-coloured dry bag is available in sunshine yellow or neon orange, both ideal for being seen by other water users when you’re on or near the ocean or a river. Itiwit is one of sporting goods retailer Decathlon’s stable of in-house brands, and we reckon it offers great value for money all round – this handy little bag is a steal at under £10.

This design is dinky enough to work as a sort of outdoor handbag – sling it over your shoulder to keep valuables such as your phone and your wallet within reach but protected from splashes when you’re paddleboarding, kayaking or just out walking the dog in horrible weather. The Itiwit bag has good solid clips and a simple but adequate strap (it isn’t padded, but then again this bag is too small to be too heavy when slung on one shoulder). There’s a top clip that works like a lash loop, so you can add a carabiner and attach this to another bag or a bit of equipment.

Our favourite feature was the numbered stencilling on the outside of the polyester material so that you can see if you’ve folded this bag far enough before you secure it – we’d love it if all dry bags had this feature. This bag is only ‘waterproof to splashes’ and should not be immersed according to Decathlon – on test, we found it let in water after a minute when submerged. It is ideal for popping your phone in for more relaxed activities near water.

f.a.s. yachting

3 / Mustang Survival Greenwater Deck Bag 35 Litre

Material: nylon Capacity: 35 litres Colour: black Lash Loops: 3 Weight: 35 litres

Reasons to buy: submersible, easy to pack Reason to avoid: expensive, stiff zipper

Unlike most dry bags on the market, Mustang’s Survival Greenwater claims to be fully submersible, so it really can be chucked in the sea or dropped in a river without any damage to its contents. On test, we found that if we submerged this bag, it kept water firmly out for up to twenty minutes, mostly due to its hardcore zipper designed with ‘aquaseal’ to keep liquid at bay. The zip is quite stiff to wield, but that bag does come with zipper lubricant to keep it running smoothly and a big, quick-grab zipper pull.

We tested out the bag over a month and it consistently stayed leakproof – while this true waterproofness might degrade with age, this design is suitable for more extreme water sports and will even float if it’s accidentally dropped in the drink. Elsewhere, there’s a removable shoulder strap, lots of lash points and a green fluorescent-hued lining for better visibility when you’re packing kit. The rectangular shape of the Greenwater makes it quick to square away your belongings inside and store with other packs of a similar shape in small spaces.

This bag was the most expensive on the test and it’s overkill if you just want a simple, splashproof bag for adventures near water, but if you’re a sports professional or work outdoors (this bag was designed with military use in mind) this tough bit of kit is worth the spend. A massive 65-litre version is also available.

 Buy it now

4 / Red 60 Litre Getaway Kit Bag 60 Litre

Material: nylon Capacity: 60 litres Colour: grey Lash Loops: 0 Weight: 1.25kg

Reason to buy: works as a proper backpack, good internal divider, waterproof outer Reason to avoid: heavy, expensive

Red Equipment started life making paddleboards and changing robes, so it’s no surprise they are dab hands at creating tough kit bags that can withstand an encounter with water. If you need a ready-for-anything kit bag, this is the model for you – the external fabric of the Getaway is made with Red’s own-brand ‘armour tech’, which is designed to be tough yet supple, hardwearing over time, wipe clean and scuff-resistant.

This wonder nylon-based material is also 100% waterproof and withstood a hose down on test. This duffel-style bag has plenty of room (we tested out the 60-litre Getaway pack – a 40 Litre Mission pack and 90-litre Expedition pack are also available) but we reckon the middle size is just right for weekends away and for storing kit and clothing on adventures. On the outside are tough rubber grab handles and two fabric top handles that double up as backpack straps and have enough padding to make this pack comfortable to wear on your shoulders over short distances.

Inside the pack is all black, making sorting kit a bit tricky. The outside offers plenty of places to store belongings, including a mesh external stash pocket and two zipped pockets. Thoughtful extras include a changing mat – great for surfers and wild swimmers – and even an emergency whistle. This roomy design is great for life on deck or for use as a check-in bag on adventurous travels – it’s tough enough to withstand everything from ocean spray to being chucked on a baggage carousel, so while it’s expensive you should find yourself using it regularly.

f.a.s. yachting

5 / Mustang Survival Highwater Backpack 22 Litre

Material: nylon Capacity: 22 litres Colour: black Lash Loops: 0 Weight: 567g

Reasons to buy: good size, handy mesh pockets, shoulder straps, lightweight Reasons to avoid: straps have limited padding, pricy for such a simple design

Mustang’s Highwater is exactly what it looks like – a dry bag you can also pop on your back thanks to simple shoulder straps.  This backpack works well as a waterproof container you can wear if needed, so it’s ideal for paddleboarding excursions, walking to a wild swim spot or for popping a weekend’s worth of clothes in for a boat trip. A roll top entry makes it quick to stash kit and then seal the bag, and watertight seams stopped any splashes getting through on test.

This pack has more external features than most dry bags, including three handy stretchy mesh pockets, which are great for quickly storing clothing and kit on the go. The interior is black, which does make it hard to see what you’ve squirrelled away. The shoulder straps are foam padded and there’s a sternum clip – they’re comfortable for a few miles but not structured enough for a proper trek (despite Mustang’s claim of ‘all-day comfort’).

Where this design does stand out compared to other backpack designs is for its lightweight – at under 600g it won’t weigh you down. There are no dedicated lash loops but you can use the straps to cinch this pack to a board or a bike. We reckoned despite that being a versatile pick this is quite a pricy option for such a simple design – there are more affordable dry bag-cum-backpacks on the market.

Musto Dry Tube 20

6 / Musto Evo Dry Tube 20 Litre

Material: polyamide Capacity: 20 litres Colour: grey or black Lash Loops: 1 Weight: 390g

Reason to buy: useful handle, clear panel, tough fabric Reason to avoid: not submersible, grey colourway could get dirty

Musto’s Evo collection was designed with sailors in mind, and these waterproof packs in an array of sizes stood out for ocean going as soon as we laid eyes on them. These dry bags look and feel like great quality – if you’re after something splashproof they’re a solid all-rounder for sailing and water sports alike. This 20-litre version of the Dry Tube design was reliably water-resistant on test. We wouldn’t class this as a fully waterproof bag and you can’t submerge it, but it will withstand rain and splashes, so it’s better used near water rather than where there’s a likelihood of it getting dumped overboard. It’s also tough enough to chuck about on boats and bikes or to attach to the outside of a mountaineering backpack.

A clever translucent panel means you can see what is inside at a glance. This feature is great when you’re packing multiple dry bags full of kit for adventure camping or international travels, and makes seeing inside the pack easy. We’d pick the black colourway over the light grey version of the Evo Dry, as the lighter hue could get dirty easily. The included strap is of decent quality (although there’s no padding so while it’s comfortable enough to sling over your shoulder, we wouldn’t carry it far) and when the bag is rolled up the buckle doubles up as a grab handle. There’s only one lash loop, but it’s solid plastic so you can pop a carabiner on it. This is a great all-rounder for activities above the water line and a decent price.

How we tested the best waterproof bags for paddlesport

We know how important it is for gear to last as long as possible, that’s why when testing the bag – adventure blogger, Sian Lewis, took a variety of features into account to ensure the best of the best made it onto the list.

To ensure anyone can travel with these bags in the water, we made sure all options were 60 litres / 16 US gallons or less capacity.

A paddlesport bag should be lightweight to ensure it can travel with you on a canoe, paddleboard or raft.

Waterproofness

Bags are rarely 100% submersible due to their design, but some have a better seal than others and can take on the elements better than others.

Without compromising on value for money, we’d recommend setting a budget for your paddlesport bag. It’s important that the more you invest in the bag, the less likely you are to replace it within a year.

Breaking news, california yacht loaded with 1,000 rounds of ammo, fireworks bursts into flames and sinks at popular marina.

A luxurious California yacht filled with fireworks and 1,000 rounds of ammunition burst into a fiery inferno before sinking into the Marina del Rey on Wednesday night.

The Admiral, a 100-foot, twin-diesel-engine boat, was docked in the man-made harbor when it erupted into flames, leading to a large-scale response from the LA Fire Department.

Only two hours after catching fire, the nearly million-dollar boat sank into the 800-acre marina 5 miles south of Santa Monica.

The Admiral yacht is pictured engulfed in flames.

Two people escaped the blaze without injuries, the fire department reported.

Witnesses captured the flames tearing through the 100-foot yacht as fireworks illuminated the black smoke and flew across the sky.

Efforts to extinguish the flames appeared successful from the outside, but the fire burning on the inside seemed to be resistant to the water hoses as the blaze continued to destroy the interior, according to KTLA.

Dozens of first responders and intrigued community members watched the fallen boat lying in the marina while crews continued to douse the wreckage with water.

Witnesses captured the flames tearing through the 100-foot yacht as fireworks illuminated the black smoke and flew across the sky.

Neighbors grew fearful that the blaze would extend into nearby boats and potentially set off a chain reaction.

“I saw it fully engulfed in flames and like many of us living here, heard an explosion and saw fireworks coming off it, and more flames and then walked down here and captured video of it,” resident Lynn Rose told NBC Los Angeles .

The boat was reportedly being fueled by a propane source “complicating” firefighting efforts. Officials set up a floating physical barrier known as a boom to prevent debris, including diesel fuel, from polluting the waters.

Officials did not indicate how the fire started as of Thursday morning.

The Admiral, built by Broward Marine in 1986, featured four cabins including the master suite, could hold 10 guests with three crew members, and was last listed in 2018 for $985,000, according to Boat International.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5’s trailer has finally arrived, and with Captain Glenn Shephard’s crew including First Officer Gary King, fans are disappointed in the show’s return . While Below Deck viewers have been impatiently awaiting news about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 for over a year, the trailer has finally been released, and has many concerned about what the season is going to look like. While the trailer reveals the return of some familiar faces, the storylines that appear to be part of the season left viewers feeling uneasy. After Gary’s sexual misconduct allegations, his involvement seems overwhelming.

In the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 trailer, the crew’s chartering guests around Ibiza in a new sailing adventure. With Gary showing up early in the trailer after Daisy Kelliher makes her grand entrance, things get dicey quickly. “That’s right, we have a f****** job and I’m not carrying this f****** season on my own you f****** prick,” Daisy shouts at Gary in one moment of the trailer as he lays in his bed, looking dismayed. The rest of the trailer shows the genuine chaos of the season, featuring Gary heavily much to the surprise of Below Deck viewers .

What Gary’s Involvement In Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Means

He’s part of the show more than ever.

Throughout the Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 trailer, it was clear that Gary will be a focal point of the exterior team’s story. Being shown on the deck with some of the exterior team, pushing Deckhands to their limits and critiquing their work, Gary’s presence on the sailing yacht may be odd during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 . While he appears to be getting along with Daisy , he may not even have her in his corner by the end of the charter season. His heavy involvement in the trailer may not indicate the same throughout the whole season.

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Although Gary has been a part of Below Deck Sailing Yacht since the early days of the series, seeing him as a member of the crew after his sexual misconduct allegations came to light is tough. While Bravo filmed Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 before the allegations were revealed, they came to light during the filming of the season and it appears that the network didn’t choose to remove Gary from later episodes or take action at all. Though it remains to be seen if production did anything about Gary , it’s disappointing to some to see him on screen.

Our Take On The Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Trailer

It could be chaotic fun, but gary leaves a stain on the show.

Although the trailer for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 makes it seem like one of the most exciting, dramatic seasons of the series we’ve ever seen, the mess may not be worth it if Gary’s involved. By ignoring the sexual misconduct allegations lodged against Gary and leaving him on the series, seemingly without explanation, Bravo is allowing it to seem like what he may have done is okay. Though nothing has been proven, taking no action on Below Deck Sailing Yacht could be a misstep that may taint the entire season of the sailing spin-off for once excited viewers.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht premieres Monday, October 7 at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Exes Daisy Kelliher and Gary King Have Explosive Reunion in Season 5 Trailer

Below deck sailing yacht 's daisy kelliher confronts "pr--k" gary king following their failed boatmance in e news' exclusive first look at season five. plus, meet the new yachties..

Below Deck Sailing Yacht 's new season will be anything but smooth sailing.

That's because returning costars Daisy Kelliher and Gary King are anything but friendly after their failed boatmance in E! News' exclusive first look at the Bravo series' fifth season.

Following Daisy, Gary and BDSY alum Colin MacRae 's messy love triangle , Daisy is still reeling from the complicated and dramatic fallout from last season.

"Going into this season, I got rid of some dead weight," the newly single Chief Stew says in the trailer. "The breakup did a number on me last year. I felt very broken. But now, I'm coming back in more focused, full of energy and I'm f--king good at my job. And I'm taking back the reigns."

Despite her initial confidence about returning to the Parsifal III , Daisy adds, "It's gonna be a s--t show."

Cut to the Ireland native yelling at Gary, "Guess what? We have a f--king job to do and I'm not f--king carrying this season on my own, you f--king pr--k!"

But luckily for Daisy, the preview teases her quickly moving on with new Deckhand Keith Allen , who tells Gary, "Daisy would make a very good wife. No?"

As for Gary's response, he bursts out laughing at the crewmember's declaration.

However, Daisy feels the same about Keith and tells him, "You're the kind of person I've never met before."

And when it comes to this season's charter guests, the yachties have too much of a good time with one group on shore.

After a night out, Captain Glenn Shephard warns the team, "You guys went out with some guests, I set some ground rules. Two drinks maximum. You knew the rules, you broke the f--king rules, and now you're here getting upset."

Check out the trailer above for a preview of all the drama to come. And keep reading to meet new yachties Chef Cloyce Martin , Chief Engineer Davide Morosi , Stews Diana Cruz and Danni Warren and Deckhand Emma Crouch .

Below Deck Sailing Yacht premieres Monday, Oct. 7, at 9 p.m.   on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream next day on Peacock.

Captain Glenn Shephard

Capt. Glenn and his expert crew set sail on Parsifal III to the luxury party capital of the world, Ibiza. While Ibiza is known for its sunny day parties and crystal-clear coast, it’s stormy waters ahead for the crew as they navigate blossoming boatmances, competitive co-workers and tense personal dynamics, all while trying to raise the bar every charter.

Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher

After a distracting love triangle last season that took her focus away from work, Daisy is ready to take the reins back in the interior department with a new sense of energy and determination. However, plans for a stress-free charter season are threatened when her stews question her leadership.

First Mate Gary King

On deck, Gary attempts to keep his team motivated as one crew member struggles to learn the ropes.

Federal judge tells RFK, Jr. his name will stay on Michigan's presidential ballot

Portrait of Paul Egan

A federal judge on Wednesday denied a request from Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., a former independent candidate for president, to have his name removed from Michigan's Nov. 5 ballot.

According to evidence in the case, 90% of Michigan ballots have already been printed and it would cost at least a half million dollars to reprint them without Kennedy's name.

Kennedy made the last-ditch appeal to federal court, seeking an injunction against the printing of ballots, after losing in the Michigan Supreme Court.

Kennedy, 70, suspended his independent bid for president on Aug. 23 and endorsed former President Donald Trump . In several battleground states, including Michigan, the Kennedy campaign moved to be taken off the ballot, in an apparent effort to not take votes away from Trump.

U.S. District Judge Denise Page Hood said in an 18-page ruling that Kennedy can't sue in federal court because his case had already been adjudicated in state court.

Kennedy "now pleads before this court seeking a second bite at the apple, to which he is not entitled," the judge wrote.

Kennedy was also too slow in filing various appeals, Hood wrote.

As of Tuesday, state officials said 90% of the total ballots have already been printed and it would cost at least half a million dollars to do them over again, Hood wrote in her opinion.

Hood also said that having campaigned for and won the nomination of Michigan's Natural Law Party at a state convention, his interest in unilaterally withdrawing, over the objections of the NLP, "is outweighed by the state's interest in maintaining the integrity of the ballot."

Further federal appeals are possible.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, argued that as a minor party candidate, Kennedy had no provision in state law for removing his name from the ballot.

Kennedy won in the Michigan Court of Appeals, but on Sept. 9, the Michigan Supreme Court, which has a 4-3 majority of Democratic nominees, ruled in Benson's favor, in a split decision.

Hood was appointed to the federal bench in 1994, by former President Bill Clinton.
