Superyachts News belongs to The International yachting Media , the most read boating magazines network in the world.

The editorial group was born in 2014, from the entrepreneurial creativity of Luca D’Ambrosio who, awarded for digital innovation in 2011 by the President of the Italian Republic, has developed a digital native system for the international broadcasting of nautical news.

superyachts news

The magazine publishes news related to leisure boats over 24 meters, including sailing yachts, motor yachts or multihull. A magazine that, thanks to a fantastic container, collects in a single luxurious dedicated showcase, articles, news and tests of the giants of the sea, that today easily reach and exceed 100 meters in length.

The magazine opens with a gallery of news – Superyachts headline news – illustrated with full screen images of great impact.

Scrolling down the reader enters the heart of the magazine with market news –  Superyachts  –

A large space is dedicated to follow the theme of Concepts , a subject much loved by design enthusiasts. It then continues with lifestyle , launch , and destinations .

Luxury yachts: history and definitions

Superyachts began to appear at the beginning of 1900 when the first wealthy shipowners ordered their construction with the intention of using them exclusively for leisure purposes.

Among the first motor superyachts we find many conversions of merchant or military boats. A perfect example is the famous Christina O which, 99 meters long and originally launched in 1943 under the name HMCS Stormont (an anti-submarine frigate), was purchased in 1947 by Aristotle Onassis and then converted to private use at a crazy expense for that time: four million dollars.

Superyachts news - Christina O

Today with the term superyachts are generically indicated all those pleasure boats longer than 24 meters, (about 80 ft), although, in reality, there are more precise definitions and subdivisions.

The first large subdivision obviously concerns their length. Are in fact specifically defined superyachts , leisure yachts between 24 and 50 meters while, with the term megayachts , we normally indicate those over 50 meters and up to 100 meters.

The few and fantastic pleasure yachts that exceed 100 meters are defined today gigayachts , like the Azzam that, launched in April 2013, measures the beauty of 180 meters (590 feet) and, perhaps for a short time, is the longest superyacht in the world.

Superyachs news - Azzam

The market of these magnificent giants of the sea is very active. From a 2016 statistic we learn in fact that in the world there would be 10,000 active superyachts, 80% of which are motor yachts.

Every year about 150 Superyachts are sold, produced and launched all over the world. The first producing country is Italy, which also enjoys the supremacy of the shipyard that claims the title of first producer in the world: it is the Azimut Benetti group that has been in first position for 21 years.

Megayachts News

These boats are real floating royal palaces, offering a wealth of facilities and equipment on board that make both relaxation and entertainment sublime. Most of these yachts offer suites and lounge areas, a gym, a disco, a cinema, a swimming pool, a spa, an area reserved for tenders, water toys, submarines and, on the largest yachts, one or more helidecks for private helicopters.

Superyachts news Columbus

One of the main peculiarities of superyachts is the presence on board of a highly professional crew , able to provide a five-stars assistance during the entire cruise period. The crew is generally made up of the following categories of personnel: the captain, who is in charge of the boat; the chef, who is in charge of the kitchen and food management and the staff who, like in a luxury hotel, is dedicated to serving the guests. Onboard we normally find also a technical crew, dedicated to the operation and maintenance of the boat, usually a motorist and an electronics expert who, together, ensure the operation of the boat and all the systems on board.

It is therefore a very various and luxurious market, that is constantly evolving. Our online magazine was born from this observation, a publication entirely dedicated to these fantastic masterpieces of naval art.

Superyachts News Magazine

Superyachts News

The Superyachts News magazine has been created in two languages and brings the spectacular images of these boats to the web. The site has been designed to offer a rich, pleasant and functional experience, facilitated by the use of graphics created for mobile devices and only later adapted to desktop use.

From the beginning, the publisher set out to develop an innovative and unique model, developed to broadcast free news worldwide.  A multi-channel, web and social system designed for the yachting and luxury market, i.e. for a sector that certainly wants to communicate globally, reaching an audience of users with high spending power.

The International Yachting Media group publishes 6 magazines and is top ranked globally. With over 900,000 views per week in more than 200 countries, it is probably the most read yachting media in the world.

The audience includes shipowners (around 80%) as well as a significant proportion of captains and crew members who are among the top influencers in the industry. The main audience segment (86%) are men aged between 35 and over 50.

Geographically the publications are very strong in Europe and the Americas with a coverage of respectively 53% and 40%. Over 50% of our digital magazines are accessed through organic search .

All the publisher’s magazines are based on quality of information, an enhanced multimedia approach and hyper-connected user experience. The International Yachting Media offers a unique interactive experience, where every reader is lead through an extraordinary journey made of hypertextual features, animated photos, sound effects and breath-taking videos.

Our magazines offer the best of the multimedia world in a container that does not need paper to be leafed through but that manages to summarise and enhance the purest and most important values digitally.

The system is independent from the original language of the article; our staff translates, composes and publishes content worldwide and within 24 hours. In parallel with the articles published, our team distributes content on our English, Spanish, French and Italian social network pages.

The International Yachting Media offers a huge variety of web portals that are not limited to the publication of magazines and their news, but extends to unique websites, or simply web sections, made to fulfill almost every boat owners’ needs: from the ports and anchorages online pilot book – the most complete and most up-to-date pilot book of the Mediterranean – to the possibility of buying and selling a sailing yacht or a powerboat.

Last, but not least, in order to allow boat owners to virtually discover all the best world premieres, we launched in April 2019 a very special virtual boat show. The Virtual Boat Show is a real aggregator of multimedia content that collects all the information, many of which in absolute preview, with regards to models produced by shipyards, in an elegant and extraordinarily interactive platform, where you can find sea trials, virtual tours, videos, relevant links and also a direct contact channel with shipyards.

Superyacht builder sues mike lynch’s widow for £186 million after tragic bayesian sinking in sicily.

The £30 million superyacht Bayesian, owned by Mike Lynch, sank after a violent downburst in Sicily, killing seven.

A lawyer representing the company that built Mike Lynch's superyacht, which sank last month, killing him and six others, including his 18-year-old daughter, has filed a lawsuit seeking £186 million from his widow and the crew.

The tragedy occurred when the Bayesian, a £30 million superyacht owned by Darktrace founder Mike Lynch, sank within 16 minutes after being struck by a violent downburst in Porticello, Sicily, killing seven people.

Among the victims were Mr. Lynch, 59, his 18-year-old daughter, Morgan Stanley International president Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judith, New York lawyer Chris Morvillo, his partner Neda, and the chef Recaldo Thomas.

The lawsuit, filed in a Sicilian court on Friday and first reported by Italian newspaper La Nazione, alleges the sinking caused severe reputational damage and financial losses to the Italian Sea Group (IGS), the shipbuilder.

Though Lynch’s family is reportedly outraged by the "disgraceful" move, IGS stated that the lawyer, Tommaso Bertuccelli, was not "authorized" to file the lawsuit and has been instructed to withdraw it immediately.

The company said: “The Italian Sea Group… strongly denies the claims published in La Nazione regarding a legal action following the Bayesian tragedy. Although TISG has given a generic mandate to the lawyers named in the article, no legal representative of the company has examined, signed or authorized any writ of summons.”

The legal documents reportedly name the yacht's captain, James Cutfield, two other crew members, Camper & Nicholsons (the yacht management company that hired the crew), and Revtom, the Isle of Man-based company that owned the Bayesian, which is controlled by Lynch’s widow, Angela Bacares, who survived the incident.

A family source told *The Times*: “The Italian Sea Group should be ashamed. [IGS CEO] Giovanni Costantino is a disgrace, desperately trying to shift blame. He rushed to the media before all the bodies had even been recovered, showing his lack of decency. Now, it seems, he wants to sue his own clients.”

San Diego’s Most Irreverent Pop-Up Is Moving to the Desert

A pop-up that combines food and fun, and — most refreshingly — doesn’t take itself too seriously, has found a permanent place to land in an unincorporated desert community about an hour’s drive from downtown San Diego in southeastern San Diego County.

Founded by San Diego-born artist Max Daily, Oslo Sardine Bar was inspired by Daily’s grandmother, who once worked in a tuna cannery. Bringing together people, performance art, and tinned seafood sourced from all over the globe, the pop-up was first launched at Bread & Salt in Logan Heights.

As its popularity increased, Daily — who studied puppeteering and whose day job is doing set decorating and props for the Walt Disney Company — toured around the country with Oslo Sardine Bar, eventually establishing a weekly residency in Seaport Village before shifting to deliver pre-ordered boxes of tinned fish during the pandemic.

More recently, Oslo Sardine Bar has been popping up at Mabel’s Gone Fishing and Bread & Salt, sometimes with longtime collaborators, the sea shanty-singing Barnacle Boys , or his customized claw machine which dispenses artist print sardine boxes.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Oslo Sardine Bar By Max Daily (@oslosardinebar)

A trained butcher who waited tables for 15 years at South Park stalwart Big Kitchen Cafe, Daily has been invited by the new proprietors of the Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel to set up shop in one of their other buildings in town. The former library will now be called the Jacumba Yacht Club, which Daily says he’s envisioning as a slice of Americana that harkens back to the roadside attractions of yesteryear.

Building it himself with furnishings that include old tables from Golden Horseshoe Restaurant in Disneyland’s Frontierland, the space will have a sardine bar serving tins and possibly wine and beer and an adjacent theater area filled with art and animatronics that will host performances of Daily’s sea monkey circus. Daily tells Eater that he hopes to have some version of Jacumba Yacht Club up and running in the next few months, and says that he plans to continue his pop-ups in central San Diego.

Breaking news, air force vet joseph lopez, brother joshua, who were drugged during dubai yacht party, speak out as they’re freed from uae jail, land in us — with help from jd vance.

The US airman-turned-social media influencer and his brother — sentenced to jail in Dubai last month after claiming they  were lured and drugged at a yacht party — were freed from prison Tuesday, putting an end to the siblings’ four-month “nightmare.”

Joseph and Joshua Lopez arrived home in their native Ohio, Detained in Dubai, an organization dedicated to helping people facing legal issues in the United Arab Emirates, announced late Tuesday.

“I am pleased to announce veteran Joseph Lopez and his brother, Joshua, have arrived safely in Ohio after a short Dubai vacation turned into a terrible nightmare,” the crisis manager and CEO of Detained in Dubai, Radha Stirling, wrote in a  statement .

Ohio brothers Joseph and Joshua Lopez were sentence to jail for drinking alcohol at a party in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Joseph Lopez was all smiles as he landed at Los Angeles International Airport as he recalled his first moments of freedom.

“Somehow got pulled out of a Middle Eastern prison, sat in deportation for hours, flew halfway across the world and now in Los Angeles.. all without sleeping yet.. what a strange day this has been,” he wrote.

In a separate  post  on Wednesday, the Air Force vet announced that he and his brother were released from prison and thanked “everyone who fought” for his freedom.

“You tried to steal my future, took my entire life savings and put me into debt, drug my family through this mess, jailed me, imprisoned me,” Lopez wrote in a post alongside a video titled, “Dear Dubai.”

“I just lived something that is going to sound like a movie to many, and now I will share my experience with you to the world, and the experience of others who do not deserve such things.”

Air Force veteran Joseph Lopez left the military less than a year before his arrest.

The Lopezes’ terrifying ordeal abroad started when they traveled to the UAE on May 25, hoping to generate luxurious content in the City of Gold.

However, on June 2, the brothers spent the night at nightclub Bla Bla before an Uber driver approached them and offered to take them to an “afterparty” at a nearby hotel.

Joseph Lopez reluctantly agreed to pay the bill, Detained in Dubai reported.

Joseph Lopez celebrates his freedom as he landed at LAX Airport on Tuesday.

The organization claimed the brothers were then preparing to call it a night when they were approached by a man who invited them to a yacht party.

Joseph Lopez — who left the Air Force less than a year ago — explained that he was “done spending for the night,” but the man insisted they were “American guests” and not to worry about spending money.

Onboard, the brothers were given more drinks from the staff, who later charged them $2,722, before one woman offered them another refreshment.

the Air Force vet announced that he and his brother were released from prison and thanked “everyone who fought” for his freedom.

“This girl brought me a drink, and after she brought me this drink, I don’t remember anything,” Joseph Lopez previously  told Fox 19 Now.

“They were given one drink onboard the yacht, and the next thing they remember is being taken away by plain-clothed police officers in an unmarked vehicle,” Stirling previously wrote.

The brothers and Stirling claimed the pair thought they were being abducted on foreign soil but were instead brought to the Al Barsha police station, where they remained from June 3 to June 12.

“The police did not test their blood for presence of any drugs or sedatives despite the boys’ request for them to do so,” Stirling wrote.

Joseph Lopez left the Air Force less than a year before he was arrested in the UAE.

Police charged the brothers with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, damaging a patrol vehicle, and alcohol consumption.

They had bonded out but were given a travel ban preventing them from returning to the US.

Late last month, the Lopez brothers were both sentenced to one month in jail for alcohol consumption while on a “tourist visit to the Emirates” and were fighting the charges of damaging government property and assaulting an officer before they were released.

Detained in Dubai thanked Ohio Senator and Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance for his “help and support” in ensuring the brothers’ safe return.

Republican vice presidential nominee and Ohio Sen. JD Vance speaks to a crowd during a rally at the Berks County Fairgrounds on Sept. 21, 2024 in Leesport, Pennsylvania.

“I thank Senator JD Vance who was highly supportive of his constituents and keen to get them home as fast as possible,” the CEO of the nonprofit wrote.

“With the combined support of Senator Vance and a strong campaign, the Lopez brothers managed to escape the prison sentence they’d been served.”

Vance had been in “constant communication with the State Department, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the United States and the constituents’ family” and was “monitoring the as-yet-unresolved legal proceedings carefully,” a spokesperson for former President Donald Trump’s 2024 running mate told  Fox News  in August.

Stirling pointed out that the incident with the Lopez brothers “should serve as a warning to tourists who are under the mistaken belief that the UAE is completely safe.”

“Joseph and Joshua were targeted, lured and drugged while trying to enjoy a harmless vacation. This kind of crime is only spoken about when raised by victims. It won’t be in the Dubai annual crime statistics,” she claimed.

Ohio brothers Joseph and Joshua Lopez were sentence to jail for drinking alcohol at a party in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Brothers return to Ohio after Dubai trip goes horribly wrong

The video above is from a previous story.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Two brothers have returned to Ohio after a trip to Dubai went horribly wrong, according to Radha Stirling, the CEO of Detained in Dubai.

Former U.S. Airman Joseph Lopez and his brother, Joshua, were sentenced to one month in prison for drinking alcohol on a yacht back in June.

The two men were in Dubai to travel, see the sites, and create social media content for Joseph’s influencer career. However, things quickly went downhill after they accepted an invitation to a yacht party from a new “friend.”

According to the veteran, it all started when he was hit with an expensive bill onboard the yacht - one he did not take part in and refused to pay.

Lopez says he was upset and confused about what happened and claimed that he thought the issue was resolved,

“And then this girl brought me a drink, and after she brought me this drink, I don’t remember anything,” Joseph said in July. “Basically, she drugged us.”

The men woke up in the back of a vehicle, not remembering the rest of the night. They thought they had been kidnapped, unaware that they were actually under arrest.

Joseph stated that while in custody, the police did not conduct a breathalyzer test for 24 hours or a drug test for four days. In addition to their alcohol-related charges, the brothers are also facing charges of damaging government property and assaulting an officer.

They managed to avoid a prison term, which could have been from six months to two years, Stirling explained.

According to FOX19 NOW’s previous story, the two Ohioans were released from jail on bond after a few days there. However, they were forced to rent an Airbnb due to a travel ban against them.

US citizens are targeted by Dubai residents. Tierra Allen faced extortion by a rental car agency while Joseph & Joshua were drugged so they could be robbed. The CEO of Detained in Dubai, Radha Stirling, says this was a “targeted attack” and is telling of the country’s character.

Stirling’s organization has helped tens of thousands of people who are facing/faced legal issues in the United Arab Emirates, including the Lopez brothers.

How Jesse Collins Became the Go-To Producer Behind TV's Biggest Spectacles, From Emmys to Grammys to Super Bowl Halftime Show

Popular on variety.

50 Cent first announced that G-Unit would be producing the docuseries in early December, at which point Combs had been sued by four different women , beginning with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, whose lawsuit opened the floodgates against him, and with whom he quickly arrived at a settlement . At the time, 50 Cent shared a clip on X that showed Bad Boy Records rapper Mark Curry alleging that Combs would spike bottles of champagne at his parties before women drank from them. Proceeds from the documentary, the rapper-producer said, will be used to support sexual assault victims.

Just last week, Combs was arrested in New York and charged on three counts : racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty, but remains in custody as he was denied bail at his appeal hearing.

In May,  CNN reported on a leaked video  that showed Combs grabbing, shoving and kicking Cassie in a hotel. Days later, he said  he took “full responsibility”  for his actions in the video.

That was his first and only time admitting to any wrongdoing. Before then, he had denied everything, posting a statement to social media in December that read “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH,” Combs said in a statement posted to social media in December. “For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he said. “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.” The post no longer appears on his Instagram account, but remains pinned to the top of his X (formerly Twitter) account at the time of this article’s publication.

Additionally, after Homeland Security raided his Los Angeles and Miami properties in March, he posted on Instagram the video for his 1998 song “Victory,” in which he runs from police, with the caption “Bad Boy for life.”

This is Netflix’s first official confirmation of its involvement in the series, though 50 Cent discussed the project with The Hollywood Reporter in July.
