The interior of the FOUNTAINHEAD Yacht is designed by Sinot Yacht Design and Axel Vervoodt . She can comfortably accommodate 14 guests in 7 suites.

Although she is a famous superyacht, very few details are known about her interior, and there are no known interior images.

Sander Sinot has a background in industrial design and understands how to bring together amazing design elements down to every detail on the vessel.

FOUNTAINHEAD was designed to offer a family home on the water with an inviting interior, gym, contraflow swimming pool, and plenty of water toys and tenders for guests to enjoy a fun time.

That Yacht Docked in Boston Isn’t Mark Cuban’s, You Guys

Get a compelling long read and must-have lifestyle tips in your inbox every sunday morning — great with coffee.

yacht1

The traveling sideshow that is the not-Mark-Cuban’s-yacht made its way to Boston this week.

The cruise-ship-sized vessel, named Fountainhead , has been turning heads since it docked in the North End’s Yacht Haven on Friday, according to the neighborhood news site NorthEndWaterfront.com .

But the billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks and co-star of the investment game show Shark Tank wants to make it known he does not own that, or any, yacht. He is emphatic on this point.

“I DON’T OWN A YACHT,” Cuban reportedly wrote in an email to the celebrity gossip website Page Six , the all-caps his.

The owner of the yacht—which is 288 feet long, comes equipped with a basketball hoop, has enough deck space to store two additional boats, hails from the Cayman Islands , and most likely draws its name from the Ayn Rand novel (which Cuban, as luck would have it, has said is one of his favorites )—has been spreading misinformation, Cuban says.

The full email, as reported by Page Six:

I don’t own a yacht. Never have . . . The guy who owns the boat tells EVERYONE that it’s mine. It’s so crazy, I got a letter from someone thanking me because the ship’s doctor had saved this person with CPR . . . had people email me asking if they can come aboard. Of course I always say yes  I DON’T OWN A YACHT.

Unnamed sources told the gossip site the boat’s owner was actually an executive from Sears. Sears didn’t return a request from Boston for comment.

Many, many online resources earlier reported the boat belonged to Cuban. There was Mark Cuban’s yacht docked in Miami , in Bar Harbor , and The Hamptons , the sites reported. Forbes counted Cuban among the big boat owners in its ranking of 100 Biggest Yachts . Passing reference to Cuban and his vessel was made in a Thrillist list of the 8 Most Ridiculous Yachts in the World .

Then on Tuesday came a series of stories about how the nautical wonder absolutely didn’t belong to the wealthy basketball figure and TV personality.

One of them came from the Boston Business Journal , a reporter for which also reached out to Cuban by texting him directly on a messaging app he owns called Cyber Dust .

“I don’t,” Cuban tells BBJ reporter Sara Castellanos, “have a yacht.”

Written by Mike Smith

In what is a busy 2011 year for yacht orders and launches by the Dutch luxury yacht building company Feadship , there has been another large superyacht launched called motor yacht ‘Fountainhead’. Yacht Fountainhead is the largest private yacht Feadship has ever built, along with another 88 m XL called Musashi.

Superyacht FOUNTAINHEAD was launched today by the Feadship Koninklijke De Vries shipyard in Makkum, the Netherlands. M/Y Fountainhead is the third boat of the Feadship XL series, the first being yacht Ocean Victory and the second called yacht Musashi. All three Feadship XL superyachts have been launched at the De Vries Makkum facility – Ocean Victory , in October 2008 and Musashi in August 2010.

Motor Yacht ‘Fountainhead’ is 87.78 m (287.99 ft) in length and she has a full displacement steel hull. The uxury yacht is topped with an aluminium superstructure. Previously known as Feadship Hull XL 1003 Fountainhead is powered by four 3,650hp (or 2,721 kw) MTU 16V 4000 M90 diesel engines which produce a total power potential of 14,600 hp, or 10,887 kilowatts.

The Feadship Fountainhead yacht was designed (naval architecture and her exterior design) by Feadship’s De Voogt Naval Architects. As with other Feadship XLs, Sinot Yacht Design was utilised for the interior design.

The Name ‘Fountainhead’

The Fountainhead is also known as a famous novel which was written by Ayn Rand in 1943. In the book The Fountainhead Howard Roark, the main protagonist, is an individualistic young architect who chooses to struggle in obscurity rather than compromise his artistic and personal vision. The book describes his battle to practice his idea of what is superior architecture when the general public view is as overly modernistic architecture in an establishment focused on convention.

Millennials Might Hate Cruises—But a Yacht Trip? That’s Another Story.

U ntil recently, 30-year-old Hilal Fahs would have considered himself a “never-cruiser.” Sharing an experience with 3,000 others seemed out-of-step with his preferred style of travel. “There’s a lack of exclusivity on cruise ships,” he explained.

Fahs, an entrepreneur based near Iguazú Falls in Brazil, softened his stance when the Four Seasons, his favorite hotel brand, announced it was launching its first vessel.

“Since 2016, I have been planning all my leisure trips around where there is a Four Seasons, so I thought maybe a Four Seasons yacht would be a different experience.” Fahs paid $19,000 for a double-occupancy cabin on the ship’s first voyage, a seven-night wander through the Caribbean’s Lesser Antilles islands, set for January 2026. “I’m hoping it has the same level of attention to detail and high level of service as their hotels,” he said. Fahs likely needn’t worry on the latter point; the company says the yacht will have a princely one-to-one guest-to-staff ratio.

Virgin, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and other mainstream operators of bigger ships have tweaked their offerings to appeal to millennials, unveiling everything from hip cocktail bars to big-name wellness partnerships, but the cruise market’s luxury segment has been late to the game.

Floating Hotels

The secret formula to convincing affluent 30- and 40-somethings to sign up for a trip by sea? Slap a five-star hotel’s name on it and call it a yacht. “The typical cruise doesn’t resonate with the younger, hipper audience,” said Jack Ezon, CEO of Embark Beyond, a travel advisory aimed at luxury-minded travelers. “But the new ‘yacht’ or ‘micro’ cruise has developed into a new obsession.” He says he’s never “in 25 years” seen such a demand.

Ezon says many former cruise skeptics gravitate most to the Marriott-owned Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, which launches its second ship, Ilma, this summer. Also drawing interest are yachts run by Four Seasons, Aman and Orient Express—all set to debut in the next few years with a small number of cabins and personalized attention harder to find on big ships.

On the first Ritz-Carlton yacht, launched in 2022, the passengers’ average age hovers around 54, says Gaby Aiguesvives, the brand’s chief marketing officer. That’s 10 to 15 years younger than the average of their counterparts on Silversea or Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “About 50% of our guests are new to cruising.”

What’s In a Name?

For operators looking to attract younger travelers, marketing goes a long way—and avoiding the C-word helps. “We prefer ‘yacht’ because what we are providing is a much more intimate experience,” said Aiguesvives. That said, Ritz-Carlton’s two yachts hold 298 and 448 passengers, respectively, similar to ships by Silversea and Regent, both of which have no issues with calling a cruise ship a cruise ship.

Aiguesvives, herself a millennial, says you’ll find the true difference in the murky waters of the onboard vibe. She considered herself a never-cruiser before she started working at the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. But a 2024 trip through the Caribbean sold her on yachting’s “more relaxed, intimate, bespoke feeling.” In contrast, she finds cruises to be “more about the entertainment on board.”

Non-hotels are taking note. In its marketing literature, the operator Aqua Expeditions emphasizes “boutique” and “luxury” whenever it mentions the word “cruise.” The company’s boats have between seven and 20 cabins, and focus on unconventional cruising destinations like the Mekong River or the Indonesian archipelago, with rates starting at $4,560 a person. The average age of its clientele on ocean cruises has dropped from mid-50s to mid-40s since 2020, according to Francesco Galli Zugaro, the company’s CEO. “I call these people ‘affluent explorers’ because they have this adventurous component, but want excellent design, food and creature comforts,” he said.

Superseding Stigma

Fairly or not, younger affluent travelers have formed preconceptions about cruise ships, dismissing them as cramped and crowded. Both the Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton expend a lot of energy dispelling notions that cruising has to mean long buffet lines and fights for deck chairs. According to marketing materials, the Ritz-Carlton’s Ilma yacht boasts “the highest ratio of space per guest at sea.” All rooms open onto balconies and many suites are large enough to include bathtubs. Similarly, the Four Seasons leads with the claim that its new yacht will offer “50% more living space per guest” than existing all-suite ships.

To further distance itself from the stereotype, the Four Seasons yacht will reject that vital selling point of the industry: the all-inclusive model, which some affluent travelers view as tacky. Onboard entertainment will eschew the casino in favor of a transverse marina that allows for oceanside lounging and offers easy access to water sports.

Almost Like It’s Your Yacht

Does the idea of seeing Rome for a day from a boat docked an hour away seem absurd? The people behind the new hotel yachts hear you. “A smaller yacht can get closer to the destination, which means you enjoy the place instead of just seeing it,” Ezon said. Yachts also needn’t limit visits to supersize ports: The Four Season yacht, for example, will prioritize less-visited Greek islands such as Paros and Spetses, while the Ritz-Carlton offers a tour of remote settlements in Iceland, starting at $12,500.

Some of the new ships ditch set itineraries altogether. Take Satori, a hand-built wooden schooner that’s an extension of Borgo Santo Pietro, a boutique hotel in Tuscany. Accommodating just 10 passengers, it’s only available to guests willing to buy out the whole boat (starting at about $118,000 a week) and offers customizable itineraries that might include Corsica, Malta or the Croatian coast. Keeping guests busy on sea days are an onboard movie theater, a wellness cabin and private cooking classes with the onboard chef. Around 50% of the guests are under 45, estimates Claus Thottrup, the owner of Satori and Borgo Santo Pietro.

The 40-room Cali Mykonos, in Mykonos’s Kalafati area, owns a fleet of four yachts, which offers overnight trips to other nearby Cycladic islands, such as Naxos, Paros, Antiparos, Santorini, starting at around $6,500 a night.

That might sound like a lot of money, but, for millennials looking to splurge, it’s still far more manageable than a private yacht charter. That can cost $200,000 a week—before tips, tax and fuel surcharges.

The Wall Street Journal is not compensated by retailers listed in its articles as outlets for products. Listed retailers frequently are not the sole retail outlets.

Millennials Might Hate Cruises—But a Yacht Trip? That’s Another Story.

Rapper Travis Scott arrested on disorderly intoxication charge in Miami Beach

Rapper Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday on a disorderly intoxication charge after, authorities say, he yelled at people on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida, police records show.

Scott, 33, the "goosebumps" rapper whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 4:30 a.m. on a charge of disorderly intoxication, as well as trespassing property after warning.

“Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding," his legal representative Bradford Cohen said. "There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”

Scott was arrested after police were called to the Miami Beach Marina early Thursday on a report of a disturbance on a yacht, according to a Miami Beach police arrest affidavit. A person had called dispatch saying people were fighting on the vessel.

Officers found Scott “standing by the dock yelling at the vessel occupants,” authorities said. At first, he complied with police commands to sit down, but then he disregarded them, officials said. The complainant told police he didn’t want to press charges and just wanted Scott off the vessel, they said.

Officers could sense “a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant's breath,” the affidavit said.

Ultimately, he agreed to leave the dock after threat of arrest, but he didn’t go quietly, officials said. During the walk to the boardwalk, Scott “walked backwards yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel,” the affidavit said.

He left the marina but returned five minutes later and was seen by officers walking back toward the vessel, authorities said.

Scott spoke to a sergeant he had spoken to earlier and began yelling once again — “becoming erratic” and “disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings causing a public disturbance,” the affidavit said.

He was taken into custody at 1:17 a.m., the affidavit said. Scott later admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and said, “It’s Miami,” it said.

Later Thursday, he shared a photo of his mug shot, edited with sunglasses and headphones on, on his Instagram story.

Scott and Kylie Jenner, who are no longer together, share two children: Stormi, 6, and Aire, 2.

He was arrested just eight days before he’s set to start his European tour, Circus Maximus, in the Netherlands.
