"Push the red button." Yep that's all it takes to defeat them! Voltage Pictures has revealed an official trailer for a survival thriller titled Stowaway , formerly known as The Yacht . Both of these titles are bland and boring, neither really works. There was already this sci-fi survival thriller called Stowaway on Netflix a few years ago anyway. A tenacious party girl fights to survive after three thieves commandeer her luxury yacht. Described as similar to Die Hard or Panic Room but on a yacht. The indie film stars Ruby Rose , Frank Grillo , Emma Maddock , Patrick Schwarzenegger , Luis Da Silva Jr. , & Major Dodge . Aside from the trailer showing most of the film, including what the thieves are after, this is just a bad trailer. Why does every shot in this look so dark?! Everything on the boat is so poorly shot it's hard to see anything happening.

The film is about a tenacious and troubled young woman who inherits a luxury yacht from her estranged father and has to fight to survive when it gets hijacked by thieves. Unable to escape and trapped on the yacht at high seas, the prey becomes the hunter as she turns the tables on the intruders and takes matters into her own hands. Stowaway , formerly known as just The Yacht , is directed by British filmmaker Declan Whitebloom , making his feature directorial debut after numerous music videos and short films previously. The screenplay is by Ian Hayden. Produced by Adam Beasley, Ford Corbett, Mike Dill, Michael Jefferson, Nathan Klingher, Jib Polhemus, Lowell Shapiro, Anthony Standberry, and Ryan Winterstern. Voltage Pics will debut Whitebloom's Stowaway streaming on AMC+ starting August 5th, 2022 this summer. Anyone?

Stowaway review: a great cast can’t overcome an uninspiring script.

In his feature debut, Whitebloom struggles to bring the excitement into his heist film, Stowaway, like he’s done with his music videos.

Heist movies provide some of the best watching experiences when it comes to thrilling audiences with suspense and intrigue. Often, these types of films come with a good amount of action sequences and fascinating backstories for all impacted parties. Declan Whitebloom, known for his vibrant storytelling in music videos for some of the world’s biggest artists, aims to bring his enthusiasm for filming onto the big screen. However, Whitebloom struggles to bring the excitement into his heist film, Stowaway , his feature debut, like he’s done in past music videos.

Previously called  The Yacht , the story follows Bella Denton (Ruby Rose), an impecunious and tenacious young woman whose street smarts have taken her far in a life of petty crime and partying. When her estranged father, Arthur Denton (Major Dodge), dies suddenly, he leaves Bella with a yacht as a parting gift. Coming to terms with her new-found prosperity, Bella spends a night of luxury with her love interest Michael (Patrick Schwarzenegger) on her new yacht. Unfortunately, three criminals have other plans for it. Bella must find a way to survive and outsmart the three thieves who have commandeered her yacht in order to enjoy her new livelihood.

Whitebloom’s directorial debut is what happens when an inexperienced film director gets a hold of an underdeveloped script. The feature lacks any sort of visual appeal and contains questionable moments that don’t make sense for the progression of the story. Though it has enormous potential, Stowaway  (which shares the same name as the Netflix movie ) doesn’t reach it. The cast is good, the narrative is easy to follow, and the story contains some typical, yet fun, tropes that are prevalent in heist films. But so many of the choices in this feature simply do not work. For one, some of the sequences contain extremely poor lighting at all the wrong moments. At times, it becomes a distraction and takes away from the building intrigue set up by the screenplay.

The script also takes a turn for the worst when screenwriter Ian Hayden demonstrates his inability to write women and everyone’s interactions with her. It’s unsettling to see that the only woman in this film is treated like her opinion or feelings do not matter. Bella has been estranged from her father since she was a young girl and, as a result, she has residual feelings of abandonment and resentment when it comes to him. Throughout Stowaway , almost every man tells Bella that her father was a good person and they overemphasize this without giving her a chance to share her viewpoint. Never mind that her adult experiences with her father have been non-existent and have brought danger and loneliness to her life. None of these things matter because all the men in Stowaway get the final say when determining who Arthur Denton was as a person.

The one redeeming factor of Stowaway is the acting from its cast. Ruby Rose , who plays Bella, is convincing as a young woman trying to escape her confinement on the yacht. Just like the majority of her life, many hurdles have been stacked against her, but she finds a way to use her street smarts to escape a dangerous situation. Frank Gillo stars as Meeser, an apparent family friend to Bella’s father. Though underutilized like the rest of the cast, he does everything he can to elevate his thinly written character via a great performance.

Compared to the likes of David Fincher’s Panic Room , Stowaway doesn’t hold a candle to its predecessor. The script is bland, the characters are one-dimensional, and this game of cat and mouse never overcomes its lackluster moments due to technical hindrances that are hard to ignore. Viewers may come for a thrilling heist film with action-packed sequences and an empowering story about a young woman fighting for survival. However, the filmmakers behind Stowaway settled for a dull story that relied too heavily on its cast to unsuccessfully pull this uninteresting feature out of uninspired territory.

'Stowaway' Trailer Shows Ruby Rose Fighting to Survive Aboard Her New Boat

Frank Grillo and Patrick Schwarzenegger join Rose in the high seas thriller on August 5.

AMC released the official trailer for their new thriller Stowaway starring Ruby Rose ( John Wick: Chapter 2 ) as a party girl caught up in a boat theft after criminals take over her luxury yacht. The new footage shows how Rose's character Bella ended up with such a massive yacht and teases her fight for survival once the thieves set out to sea with her still aboard. Described as a blend between Die Hard and Panic Room , the film is set to premiere exclusively on AMC+ on August 5.

Everything starts off great for Bella as she learns from an old friend ( Frank Grillo , Captain America ) that her father left her a luxury yacht when he died. Even better, after a night of partying at a bar, she found a guy named Michael ( Patrick Schwarzenegger , The Staircase ) to take back to the boat for the night. When things couldn't get much better, the trailer takes a hard left turn into borderline horror as the guards patrolling around the docks are taken out by a group of masked thieves who make their way onto Bella's boat and start taking off with her still inside. Worst of all, she can't swim, leaving her alone on the boat while Michael swims off to get help.

From there, it becomes a fight for survival as Bella takes on the thieves who wanted the boat. Judging from their gear and the safes they find on board, there's something special about the yacht that they're after specifically. Once Bella sends out a distress signal to the coast guard though, the hunt is on to find and kill her. Rather than be at the mercy of her attackers, she opts to fight, going full John McClane and becoming the hunter herself. Stowaway hails from Declan Whitebloom who'll make his feature directorial debut with the film. While relatively inexperienced in the realm of television and film, he's been a fixture in the music industry, directing music videos for artists like The Jonas Brothers , Taylor Swift , Little Big Town , and Demi Lovato . He did, however, helm the short film Blackbird as well as the documentary series Prophets of Science Fiction . It's also a debut for writer Ian Hayden who penned the script Whitebloom directed.

Joining the starring trio of Rose, Schwarzenegger, and Grillo are Scotty Bohnen ( The Last Son ), Danny Bohnen ( She Walks The Woods ), and Luis Da Silva, Jr. ( Fast Five , The Devil Goes Down ). For Rose, it's an opportunity to lead a star-studded, high-octane thriller after gathering a wealth of experience in action romps like The Meg , John Wick: Chapter 2 , and xXx: Return of Xander Cage .

“Captain Ron” is a 1992 comedy film directed by Thom Eberhardt and starring Kurt Russell as the titular character, a slovenly, irreverent sailor who is hired to help a family sail their yacht from the Caribbean to Miami. Along the way, they encounter a variety of mishaps and adventures, including pirates and a hurricane. “Chasing Bubbles” is a documentary about the journey and spirit of Alex Rust , a farm boy turned day trader from Indiana who, at 25, abandoned his life in Chicago, bought a modest sailboat (called Bubbles) and set out to sail around the world.

5. Dead calm (1989)

Dead Calm is a 1989 Australian psychological thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce and starring Sam Neill, Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane. The screenplay by Terry Hayes was based on the 1963 novel of the same name by Charles Williams; the film represents the first successful film adaptation of the novel after Orson Welles struggled for years to complete his own film based on it titled The Deep . Filmed around the Great Barrier Reef, the plot focuses on a married couple, who, after tragically losing their son, are spending some time isolated at sea, when they come across a stranger who has abandoned a sinking ship. A must see among sailing movies!

6. Deep Water (2006)

“Deep Water” is a 2006 documentary film directed by Jerry Rothwell and Louise Osmond about the history of the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race , a solo sailing race around the world that was held in 1968. The film follows the stories of the race’s participants, including Donald Crowhurst, a British sailor who became embroiled in a scandal when it was revealed that he had falsified his position in the race. The film also explores themes of adventure, ambition, and the human cost of pushing oneself to the limits. It was well-received by critics and audiences and won a number of awards.

7. Maidentrip (2013)

“Maidentrip” is a 2013 documentary film about the life of Laura Dekker , a Dutch sailor who, at the age of 14, became the youngest person to sail solo around the world. The film follows Dekker’s journey as she navigates the challenges and dangers of her voyage, including rough seas, equipment failures, and isolation. It also explores Dekker’s background and her motivations for embarking on such a risky and ambitious journey. “Maidentrip” was praised for its intimate and engaging portrayal of Dekker’s journey and for its powerful depiction of the human spirit and determination.

8. Master and commander (2003)

During the Napoleonic Wars, a brash British captain pushes his ship and crew to their limits in pursuit of a formidable French war vessel around South America. The naval action in the Mediterranean is  closely based on the real-life exploits of Lord Cochrane , including a battle modelled after Cochrane’s spectacular victory in the brig HMS Speedy over the vastly superior Spanish frigate El Gamo.

10. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” is a 2003 adventure film directed by Gore Verbinski and based on the popular Disney theme park attraction of the same name. 12. The Odyssey (2016)

The Odyssey is a movie which chronicles the life of the great Jacques Cousteau. Jacques Cousteau is perhaps one of the most famous French persons in the world due to his pioneering work on scuba diving, underwater exploration and film-making which introduced a whole generation to the wonders of reef and marine life in the ocean.

13. Turning Tide – En solitaire (2013)

Will Parker, played by Matthew Modine, loses the Americas Cup, the worlds biggest sailing prize, to the Australians and decides to form his own syndicate to win it back. In 1983, yacht sailor Will Parker (Matthew Modine) leads an American crew financed by millionaire Morgan Weld (Cliff Robertson) to defeat during the America’s Cup race against an Australian crew. Determined to get the prize back, Will convinces Morgan to finance an experimental boat designed by his ex-girlfriend Kate’s (Jennifer Grey) new beau, Joe Heisler (Stellan Skarsgard). When the boat is completed, the Americans head to Australia to reclaim the cup.

The French Riviera’s most glamorous event will be bringing another cascade of A-listers and superyachts to the South of France for the 2022 Cannes Film Festival .

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs named in lawsuit accusing his son of sexual assault

Complaint accuses 26-year-old Christian ‘King’ Combs of assault aboard yacht chartered by music mogul father in December 2022

The music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his 26-year-old son Christian “King” Combs are both named in a lawsuit that accuses the younger man of sexual assault onboard a yacht in December 2022.

The suit, filed in Los Angeles superior court on Thursday and first reported by Rolling Stone , accuses the younger Combs of assault, battery, sexual assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The elder Combs, who is facing several lawsuits alleging sexual abuse and was recently subject to federal raids in a sex-trafficking investigation, is accused of aiding and abetting.

The 31-page complaint on behalf of 25-year-old Grace O’Marcaigh describes events aboard the yacht chartered by Sean Combs for a family trip to St Martin in December 2022. The trip was “sold as a wholesome family excursion” but, according to the suit, turned into a “hedonistic environment”, with suspected sex workers and other celebrities brought on board.

O’Marcaigh, who worked as a bartender and the only onboard steward for the yacht, alleges that in the early hours of 28 December, Christian Combs pressured her to drink a shot of tequila that she “quickly suspected” had been spiked with drugs. Combs allegedly prevented her from leaving and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

The lawsuit further claims that a video of the younger Combs groping and kissing O’Marcaigh was filmed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a music producer who himself filed a lawsuit against the elder Combs in January alleging sexual assault and forcing him to hire sex workers. The complaint also includes photos of bruises on O’Marcaigh’s forearm where Christian Combs allegedly grabbed her.

O’Marcaigh claims she escaped Christian Combs when a fellow yacht employee purposefully looked for her because she had been gone a long time. According to the suit, she informed the boat’s captain about what had happened, but the incident was not investigated. O’Marcaigh believes that is because Sean Combs paid the captain to keep everything quiet.

Since the alleged incident, O’Marcaigh has suffered from anxiety, panic attacks and her severe suicidal ideation, according to the complaint. She seeks unspecified damages.

Aaron Dyer, an attorney for both men, dismissed the suit in a statement as “another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn”, the lawyer representing O’Marcaigh and Jones. “This complaint is filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn,” the statement continued, noting that a federal judge in New York criticized Blackburn for “improperly [filing] cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly”. Dyer said he would be filing a motion to dismiss O’Marcaigh’s claim.

The lawsuit is the latest in a series of legal troubles for the influential music mogul, who just last year performed with Christian at the MTV Video Music Awards as he received a global icon award as part of a long-gestating music comeback. In November of last year, Sean Combs settled a lawsuit with his longtime ex-partner Cassie, a day after the singer’s explosive complaint detailed years of alleged rapes, physical abuse and sex trafficking by the rapper. A separate lawsuit accused Combs and two other men of gang rape in 2003, when the anonymous plaintiff was 17.

And in late March, federal homeland security officers and other law enforcement officials raided Combs’s properties in Los Angeles, Miami and New York as part of a sex-trafficking investigation by federal authorities in New York. Christian and his elder brother Justin were detained during the raid in Los Angeles but later released.

Sean Combs has denied all accusations, promising to “fight for my name, my family and for the truth” in a statement posted to X . His attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit accusing him of gang rape, saying he “never participated in, witnessed or was or is presently aware of any misconduct, sexual or otherwise, relating to plaintiff in any circumstance whatsoever”. Following the allegations, Combs resigned as chair of Revolt, the digital media company he co-launched in 2013, and his Hulu reality show was cancelled.

LOS ANGELES — Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is a subject of a federal sex trafficking investigation , has been named as a defendant in a new lawsuit that alleges his son sexually assaulted a woman while she was working on a yacht the music mogul had chartered for a trip at the end of 2022. 

The allegation is the latest in a wave of lawsuits accusing Combs , 54, of sexual assault, sexual trafficking and engaging in other criminal activity. He has denied all the allegations, calling them sickening.

In the suit filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Grace O’Marcaigh alleges that Christian Combs, 26, sexually assaulted her in late December 2022 while she was working on a boat charter that had been “sold as a wholesome family excursion” but turned into a “hedonistic environment.” 

The alleged assault happened just days before Sean Combs hosted a New Year’s Eve yacht party with a long list of celebrity guests . 

Christian Combs is accused of sexual assault, sexual harassment and infliction of emotional distress in the lawsuit. Sean Combs is being sued for premises liability as the person who chartered the yacht and for aiding and abetting his son in the alleged assault. 

A lawyer for the father and son called Thursday's suit "lewd and meritless" and said it was "filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect" from O’Marcaigh's lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn.

The lawyer, Aaron Dyer, said his legal team plans on filing a motion to dismiss the suit.

 “Like father, like son," Blackburn said Thursday night after the suit was filed. "It gives us no joy or pleasure in filing this suit against Christian Combs who has clearly adopted his father’s pattern and practice of depravity."

In the yacht studio

In her suit, O’Marcaigh alleges that Christian Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her. She included transcriptions of audio clips that she states are evidence of her denying his advances as he gropes her. The suit states that the clips were recorded by a producer in the studio. 

O’Marcaigh, who was 25 at the time of the alleged assault, worked as a steward providing dinner and drink service on the yacht from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and witnessed partying and drug use between a “constant rotation of suspected sex workers” and celebrities, the suit states. She also alleges in the complaint that she suspected bottles of alcohol were laced with drugs because women began to fall over themselves, panic or pass out after just one drink. 

Around Dec. 28, 2022, O’Marcaigh was informed that Christian Combs would be joining the party to record with music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones in the yacht’s makeshift studio, the suit states. 

Christian Combs had been staying on shore at a villa, but often joined his father in the evenings, according to the suit. The woman’s suit alleges that he arrived “heavily intoxicated” and that he paid an inappropriate amount of attention to her. 

Christian then pressured O’Marcaigh to take shots of tequila that she believes he brought onboard, according to the suit.

After she took the shot, O’Marcaigh states in the lawsuit, Christian Combs became aggressive and insisted she drink more. 

O’Marcaigh became fearful and began to feel the effect of the tequila, which she “quickly suspected” had been spiked, the suit states. 

The situation “escalated” as Christian Combs groped O’Marcaigh’s legs, breast, anus and vagina, the suit states. The suit details audio recordings in which it states O’Marcaigh can be heard declining alcohol, saying she had to leave, and telling Christian Combs to stop touching her with what sounds like kissing noises in the background.

The audio was recorded by Jones, the producer who was in the studio during the alleged assault and who has alleged in his own lawsuit that he was required to record Sean Combs “constantly” and had hours of footage in which the music mogul and his staff allegedly engaged in criminal conduct. 

NBC News has heard two clips of audio transcribed in the suit purportedly from the night of Dec. 28, 2022, but has not verified who was recorded. 

“Excuse me, you don’t touch my legs like that. I’ll move my legs where I want to,” O’Marcaigh is heard saying in the recording detailed in the suit. “If I want to do this, then I will. You don’t touch my legs like that.” 

“Listen, you and everybody in the crew,” Christian Combs allegedly replies. 

“I can’t, I have to go down,” O’Marcaigh says. “I have to go down.”

Christian Combs then insists that O’Marcaigh stay with him, but she responds that she cannot unless he makes that request to a crew leader, the suit states, citing the audio recording. 

O’Marcaigh answered this way because she knew “anyone of authority” who could approve the request would be asleep and Christian Combs would not be able to contact them, the suit states. 

“Who can I talk to? I’m going to say I requested you right now,” Christian Combs said, according to the suit.  

“Well, you can take your hand off my ass for the first thing,” O’Marcaigh responded. 

O’Marcaigh then attempted to resume her duties and finish her shift once she was able to leave the studio, the suit states. Christian Combs allegedly found her a short time later and insisted she find him a place to sleep.

She directed him to the yacht cinema, which was used as an extra sleeping area, where he blocked her in, the suit states. 

Christian Combs allegedly began to grope her and took off his clothes. 

“His penis was erect, and he grabbed her arms and was trying to force PLAINTIFF to perform oral sex on him,” the suit states. 

The suit includes photos of bruising on O’Marcaigh’s forearm and alleges it was caused when Christian Combs grabbed her. 

O’Marcaigh fought him off until someone else walked in, according to the suit. 

Since the alleged attack

The alleged assault had a deep impact on O’Marcaigh’s mental health as well as her professional and personal lives, the suit said. When O’Marcaigh complained to the yacht captain the next day, the suit alleges, the captain did not believe her and failed to investigate.

She alleges that the captain retaliated against her until she was terminated in May 2023. 

Her mental health deteriorated, and the woman had anxiety and panic attacks as well as severe suicidal ideations, the suit said. O’Marcaigh alleges that the emotional strain affected her physical health and that she developed an eating disorder and seizures following the assault. 

She is seeking unspecified damages. 

"I am here to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves and I applaud Grace for being so brave to come forward with her truth," attorney Rodney S. Diggs said of his client. "Hopefully her story will inspire others to come forward."

Allegations and investigation 

O’Marcaigh’s suit is the first to accuse Christian Combs of sexual assault. Since November, his father, Sean Combs, has been accused in lawsuits of sexual assault by four women, which he has repeatedly denied. 

One of those suits has been settled , and the others have not been resolved.  

Jones, a producer who worked for Sean Combs from September 2022 to November 2023, alleged the rapper sexually harassed him, pressured him to engage in sexual acts and forced him to procure sex workers. He said he witnessed Sean Combs giving drinks laced with drugs to people at parties. 

An attorney for Combs said Jones’ “reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.”

On March 25, agents with Homeland Security Investigations searched Sean Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami. A source familiar with the investigation told NBC News that a federal investigation began before this year and that authorities were aware of the layout of Combs’ properties before the raids. 

During the searches last month, federal agents discovered guns and seized his phones as part of a warrant issued from the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, law enforcement sources have said. Christian Combs was detained at his father’s Los Angeles home last month when Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant, but he was not arrested. 

Investigators are also looking into allegations of statutory rape against Sean Combs, the source said. 

NBC News previously reported that at least three women and one man have been interviewed by federal investigators in relation to allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault and the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms. 

Aaron Dyer, one of Combs’ attorneys, issued a statement following last month’s property searches and said that Combs “was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities.” He described the search as an ambush, saying there’s been a rush to judgment based on “meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.”

“There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations,” Dyer said. “Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”

Christian Combs  has just been accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a yacht employee chartered by his father, Sean " Diddy " Combs.

According to court documents obtained by ET, yacht steward Grace O'Marcaigh claims Diddy, also a named defendant in the lawsuit, booked a yacht in December 2022 and that there was a significant amount of partying and drug use. She claims there was a suspected rotation of sex workers and a number of A-list celebrities, including Cuba Gooding Jr.

O'Marcaigh claims in her lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court that what was supposed to be "a wholesome family excursion" turned into a "hedonistic environment." For instance, she claims that there were a number of bottles laced with drugs, making it difficult to distinguish which bottles were or weren't laced. She also claims that the suspected sex workers were sprawled out unconscious on the yacht as Cassie's 2018 hit, "Me & You," blared in the background.

In court documents, O'Marcaigh claims she was pressured to take shots with Diddy's son, Christian. She claims Christian insisted on sitting next to her and became aggressive when he wanted her to continue taking shots. She claims Christian's aggressiveness turned physical, alleging that he violently grabbed her arm and forced her to take another shot, which she claimed tasted like it was spiked. O'Marcaigh then claims Christian, who recently celebrated his 26th birthday , touched her legs, breasts, anus and vagina, and he tried kissing her neck, face and hands.

In a statement to ET, Diddy and Christian's attorney, Aaron Dyer, told ET in part, "We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim."

O'Marcaigh, who says she was 25 at the time of the alleged assault, claims music producer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones, who has also  sued Diddy for sexual assault , has an audio recording of the alleged incident. O'Marcaigh attached a transcript of the audio recording, which purportedly paints Christian as blocking her from leaving his room. O'Marcaigh claims she pushed him away from her, but Christian instead took off his clothes, grabbed her arms and tried to force her to perform oral sex on him.

"His penis was erect, and he grabbed her arms and was trying to force [O'Marcaigh] to perform oral sex on him," the court documents state.

In the transcript attached to the lawsuit, Christian purportedly says, "Yo, it's shot o'clock," to which O'Marcaigh responds with, "No, I'm not doing shots." She claims Christian said, "Everybody, we got to take a shot." When she relented and said she'll take a sip, O'Marcaigh claims Christian told her, "No, no, no. Take the whole thing." O'Marcaigh claims she told him, "I'm only doing it as long as you take it as well," but she claims Christian responded saying, "I ain't going to lie, I'm not taking nothing. Please, please, take the shot."

O'Marcaigh claims she then asked, "You are drugging me?"

The lawsuit also includes photos of O'Marcaigh's alleged injuries. O'Marcaigh's complaint went on to claim that the Combs family retaliated against her by firing her around May 10, 2023. O'Marcaigh claims she fell into a deep depression, developed an eating disorder and suffered from anxiety, panic attacks and was also suicidal due to the alleged assault.

This new lawsuit comes just weeks after Christian and his brother, Justin Combs, were handcuffed outside Diddy's Los Angeles home amid a raid executed by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which also raided the embattled music mogul's home in Miami. In a statement to ET, HSI would only say that the raids were "part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners." It's been reported that the raids are tied to sex trafficking allegations and that the probe is helmed by the U.S. District Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York.

At this point, it's unclear if the litany of sexual assault lawsuits filed against Diddy are tied to the raids. But a source previously  told  Rolling Stone   that four Jane Does and one John Doe had already sat for interviews with investigators for a probe related to an alleged sex trafficking and RICO case, and additional interviews have also been scheduled.  

As ET previously reported, Diddy's ex-girlfriend  Cassie sued Diddy , claiming he raped her over the course of their years-long relationship. She also claimed he would force her to engage in sex acts with male sex workers. But some 24 hours later, Cassie and Diddy struck a settlement  deal ending her lawsuit.

In a statement to ET, Diddy said at the time of the settlement, "We have decided to resolve this matter amicably." He added, "I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love."

"Just so we're clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing," Diddy's attorney, Ben Brafman, also said in a statement to ET at the time. "Mr. Combs' decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best."

But Diddy went on to face four more sexual assault lawsuits from three additional women and Jones, the music producer. Diddy broke his silence after the fourth lawsuit was filed in less than a month from the first three lawsuits. He took to Instagram and said, "Enough is enough."

He added, "For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth."

Diddy has not publicly spoken out about Jones' lawsuit.

The Herald is breaking down the top quarterbacks ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft running April 25-27.

The Patriots hold the third overall pick and, barring a trade down or an unforeseen selection, are widely expected to take a QB in the first round. After breaking down LSU senior and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels on Monday, North Carolina’s Drake Maye, a projected top-3 pick, is up next.

Pick a playbook. Or an offense. Or even an era.

No matter your preference or period of football history, Drake Maye fits. He is a timeless prospect.

The redshirt sophomore stands a sturdy 6-foot-4 and 223 pounds. He can make every throw both inside and out of structure. He’s accurate, decisive and tough, checking all of the traditional boxes and modern must-haves, including playmaking and mobility.

Maye is cut from the same prototypical cloth as Justin Herbert and Josh Allen, former top-10 picks who also carried rare physical traits and questions about their consistency. The chief question with Maye, whose 2022 tape out-shone last year’s film, is twofold: how much of his drop-off can be attributed to a weaker supporting cast and how much did that supporting cast inspire him to overcompensate with more dangerous play?

The 21-year-old is dripping with potential. Maye’s arm talent matches or exceeds every other prospect in this year’s class. He plays on time and carves up the middle of the field, a strong indicator of pro success. He varies speeds, ripping throws with straight-line velocity and lofting high-arching touch passes when necessary.

Maye also create yards from nothing. He scrambles well and can duck away from pressure before slinging completions from various arm angles to all distances. Though his ability to conjure completions some passers never dream of cuts both ways. Maye will often eschew the sure thing for the spectacular, and incur greater risk of turnovers and sacks.

Maye must trim his pressure-to-sack rate, and nail more easy throws underneath. Overshoot too many layups, and your coaches come calling. Nay, screaming.

But generally, Maye elevated his offense, game after game, and in both seasons, with his rare tools and playmaking. NFL evaluators must now decide whether Maye chases the dreams too often instead of settling for a checkdown reality. And can his ball placement and footwork be tightened up?

Most of Maye’s interceptions in college were well-earned, yet his turnover-worthy play percentage actually dipped from 2022 to last year, per Pro Football Focus; meaning while the temptation to play hero ball increased, the damage Maye inflicted with interceptions and fumbles went down.

Increasingly, the quarterback position is becoming less classically trained musician and more classically trained jazz performer. The best play with a disciplined creativity, knowing when to wield their improvisational genius and when to resist their inner muse and simply play the notes in front of them. Quarterbacks without such tools, daring and creativity are hard-capped in the modern game, shut out from forever joining the NFL’s elites.

But Maye, as Patriots coach Jerod Mayo declared last month, has no ceiling. Still, his floor nonetheless remains a concern, particularly if his next team doesn’t support him or teach him when to ignore his muse.

After viewing all of Maye’s throws and runs from the 2023 season, let’s dive deeper into his potential as a franchise quarterback with the help of two NFL executives, who gave their own takes on the young QB.

At a glance

A four-star high school recruit from Charlotte, Maye sat behind future Commanders draft pick Sam Howell as a freshman in 2021. He broke out the following season, winning ACC Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-ACC honors. Maye finished top-five in major college football with 4,321 passing yards and 38 passing touchdowns around seven interceptions. He completed 66.2% of his passes and also led the team in rushing, with 698 yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

Last year, surrounded by subpar receiving talent and pass protection, while working the controls of a new scheme, Maye landed on the All-ACC second team. He completed 63.3% of his passes for 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions. As a runner, he totaled 449 yards and nine touchdowns.

Maye hails from a sports family, with two brothers (Luke and Beau) who played basketball at North Carolina, where his father played football. Another brother, Cole, won a national title playing baseball at Florida. According to multiple executives with different teams, Maye thoroughly impressed during his combine interviews, showing a command of the room, Xs and Os, and the good and bad of his college film.

What the film says

Spectacular. Maye can access all levels of the field and hit every route, whether on or off-platform. He is willing and able to change speeds and arm angles. His talent is rare.

Maye’s accuracy is well above average, though within the context of a top-3 pick, he gets dinged here. His short misses — most often throwing too far ahead of out-breaking routes and behind in-breakers — don’t always stem from sloppy footwork, so he may simply need more reps to grow out of these incompletions. Or, they’re a built-in bug of his game.

Otherwise, Maye hits receivers in stride on deep and intermediate routes as well as any quarterback in this class. He understands when to use a soft touch and when to rifle throws between closing windows or against tight coverage. Some of the latter completions are jaw-dropping.

Pocket presence

Maye’s pocket presence dipped at the end of last season but improved overall, while North Carolina fielded worse offensive line talent within a questionable scheme. He kept his eyes downfield in the face of pressure, hoping an open receiver springs free. He proved he can play with timing and reset his base after facing initial pressure.

Maye instinctively drifts away from unblocked blitzers — who breached North Carolina’s pocket far too often last year — but occasionally took direct hits, which must have stemmed from a lack of awareness and/or missed blocking assignments.

Decision-making

Maye is an attacking quarterback. He hunts deep throws whenever available, and particularly when he’s well-protected. He also protects the ball well, posting a 1.8% turnover-worthy play percentage last season, per PFF; which in the NFL would have tied for lowest in the league among starters.

Maye is a selective scrambler, preferring to throw first, but when he takes off, he's aggressive as a ball carrier, too. He will need to slide and seek the sideline more often in the pros, and hit more checkdowns versus pressure. Some back-footed deep balls Maye got away with in college — including for touchdowns — won't be available to him in the NFL.

No doubts here. Maye can take a hit in the pocket and when scrambling. He bounces back from big hits and bad plays. He's strong on quarterback sneaks, as well. Maye has the respect of his teammates (two-time captain), and, by all accounts, his opponents, too.

Maye isn't nearly the athlete Jayden Daniels is, but he's far more creative outside the pocket.

While Daniels is perpetually running to scramble, as a straight-line runner with explosive speed, Maye runs to scramble and  extend plays. Several of his deepest completions came off extended plays, and Maye will also eat up free rushing yards whenever the middle of the pocket opens, especially on third down. He's a strong, physical runner who also regularly beat defenders to the edge last season.

That playmaking also speaks to sack avoidance, a critical skill for quarterbacks. Maye's pressure-to-sack ratio is higher than ideal, but time and coaching may smooth that out.

Maye is capable of moving through progressions to find an open receiver. North Carolina's offensive system did not require much of that last season, when he was sometimes sped up when pressured. Maye did, however, flash the potential to diagnose pressure pre and post-snap, another area where he should improve when playing within a system that offers him more built-in answers against the blitz.

What the stats say

The Herald's Doug Kyed pulled accuracy percentage, average depth of target, big-time throw rate, turnover-worthy play rate and run grade from PFF and EPA per play (expected points added) from CollegeFootballData.com from the 16 top quarterbacks of the 2024 NFL Draft class, then standardized and averaged them into a single spreadsheet.

Jayden Daniels scouting report: What NFL scouts, film, stats say about potential Patriots QB

The spreadsheet says ...

Maye ranks second overall in this quarterback class, trailing only Jayden Daniels. He ranked seventh in accuracy rate, second in average depth of target, second in big-time throw rate, third-best in turnover-worthy play rate, ninth in run grade and ninth in EPA/play.

After Daniels and Maye, Michigan's JJ McCarthy was third overall, Washington's Michael Penix Jr. was fourth, USC's Caleb Williams finished sixth, and Oregon's Bo Nix was eighth.

Maye ranked third in PFF's deep passing grade this season, going 40-of-84 for an FBS-best 1,452 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions on targets of 20-plus yards. His 66.5 overall grade under pressure ranked 10th out of 104 qualified FBS quarterbacks and below Daniels and McCarthy, but ahead of Williams and Penix. His pressure-to-sack rate of 18.8% ranked 60th, better than Williams and Daniels, worse than McCarthy's,and in line with his 18.2% mark from 2022.

Maye's clean-pocket offensive grade ranked eighth overall in college football, trailing Williams, Daniels and Penix but ahead of McCarthy. His 2.7-second average time from snap to throw was middle-of-the-pack, but was one of the fastest times among elite quarterback prospects; better then Williams, Daniels and McCarthy.

Maye possesses every trait required of modern franchise quarterbacks. His tape is littered with NFL throws and playmaking. No, he's not perfect, and yes, he might bust out for reasons evident on the same tape that makes him look like a future star.

But this is the type of player front offices should covet and bet on at the top of the draft. Maye is more than worthy of the No. 3 overall pick.

Christian Combs is being sued for sexual assault. The rapper, who performs under the stage name King Combs , is accused of forcing himself onto a woman on a yacht in 2022. The lawsuit was hinted at earlier this week and confirmed Friday (April 5) by TMZ.

Both father and son are named in the lawsuit, with Diddy accused of aiding and abetting King in the alleged assault. O’Marcaigh also claims to have witnessed the Bad Boys Entertainment mogul with “sex workers” and exposing himself to rapper Yung Miami during a match of her drinking card game Caresha Please. According to O’Marcaigh, the affair was recorded by a camera crew for Hulu.

Previously, Diddy and family were set to star in a reality series on the streaming platform. Since the 54-year-old has been accused of rape, assault, and abuse by multiple victims, the series has been reportedly scrapped.

VIBE has reached out to Hulu and representatives for Christian Combs for a statement regarding O’Marcaigh’s allegations.

“We have not seen this woman’s claim but I’m sure we can expect the same kind of manufactured lies we’ve come to expect from Tyrone Blackburn and his clients, just as we saw in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit – which has yet to be served,” explained Diddy’s attorney, Aaron Dyer, to TMZ.

Sean “Diddy” Combs and his 26-year-old son, Christian “King” Combs, are named as defendants in a new lawsuit that alleges the music mogul’s son sexually assaulted a woman on a yacht in December 2022.

Christian is accused of assault, battery, sexual assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to a complaint filed on April 4 and obtained by Rolling Stone . Sean Combs is named in the lawsuit since he charted the luxury yacht where the assault was said to have occurred.

The April 4 complaint describes an altercation between Christian and 25-year-old Grace O’Marcaigh, the only on-duty steward on the yacht. She claims she was forced to “perform oral copulation” on Christian after she felt pressured and was forcibly fed a pair of tequila shots. Christian allegedly prevented her from leaving and she says she “quickly suspected the tequila was spiked.”

O’Marcaigh further claims that while Christian groped and kissed her, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones — a music producer who filed a separate sex trafficking lawsuit against Sean Combs in February — was recording the standoff. The lawsuit also includes color photos showing the bruises she acquired from Christian during the altercation.

O’Marcaigh says she freed herself from Combs’ grip when her colleague on board was purposefully looking for her since she had been missing for a long time. She recalls complaining to the ship’s captain but says the incident was not investigated. She believes that is because Sean Combs paid the captain to keep everything under wraps.

This latest lawsuit was filed by lawyer Tyrone A. Blackburn, who also filed “Lil Rod” Jones’ sex trafficking lawsuit against Sean Combs.

Aaron Dyer, the attorney for Christian and Sean Combs, said in a statement shared with Variety , “This is just another lewd and meritless claim from Tyrone Blackburn — just like what he filed in the Rodney Jones lawsuit, which he still has not served. This complaint is filled with the same kind of manufactured lies and irrelevant facts we’ve come to expect from Blackburn. This is exactly why the federal judge in New York slapped him two days ago for a ‘pattern of behavior’ in ‘improperly [filing] cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,’ and why he was referred to the disciplinary committee in the Southern District of New York. We will be filing a motion to dismiss this outrageous claim.”

Diddy faces several lawsuits though the most groundbreaking claims began when R&B singer Cassie, who dated him for several years, filed a suit on Nov. 16. The suit claimed Diddy had been combative towards her throughout their relationship. She described him as a “serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms. Ventura.” The following day, the two parties settled the lawsuit on what they described as amicable terms.

Another lawsuit, filed in December, alleged thatDiddy had gang-raped a 17-year-old girl in 2003. This complaint raised the issue of Diddy’s involvement in a “sex trafficking scheme” since the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, accused Combs of flying her into New York by private jet from her home in Michigan.

Following those allegations, Diddy resigned as chairman of Revolt, and his Hulu reality show was subsequently canceled.

Sean Combs’ Son Sued for Alleged Sex Assault on Yacht

Sean “Diddy” Combs and his youngest son, Christian “King” Combs, 26, have been named in a new lawsuit that accuses the younger Combs of sexually assaulting a woman who was working on a luxury yacht chartered by the Combs family for a 2022 winter trip in St. Martin.

The 31-page complaint, filed late Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, comes after a recent series of lawsuits alleging that Sean Combs , 54, sexually assaulted four women and one man on separate occasions between 1990 and 2023. Combs, whose homes were raided last week as part of a federal sex trafficking probe, has denied the allegations, calling them shakedowns.

She claims Christian forcefully grabbed her arm, prevented her from leaving the sundeck, and forced her to take another shot. “Plaintiff was quite scared and realized she was in a very dangerous situation,” the paperwork states, adding that O’Marcaigh began to feel strange and “quickly suspected the tequila was spiked.” O’Marcaigh alleges Christian then proceeded to kiss her neck and face as he groped her legs, breasts, anus, and vagina.

According to the lawsuit, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a music producer who was working with Diddy on the yacht and filed his own sex assault lawsuit against the music mogul in February , was present during the exchange and caught it on an audio recording. An alleged transcript of the recording included in the complaint claims that O’Marcaigh asked Christian if she was being drugged and later requested that he stop touching her legs and “ass.”

According to the lawsuit, the incident was “deeply traumatizing” for O’Marcaigh, leading to the breakup of her relationship with her partner and a “deep depression.”

Christian is accused of assault, battery, sexual assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress in the lawsuit, while Sean Combs is accused of aiding and abetting the behavior and premises liability as the lease-holder on the yacht.

Combs’ accused drug “mule” Brendan Paul was present on the yacht, once allegedly telling O’Marcaigh that he had to “watch Combs have sex with multiple women,” in case Combs “needed him to get him something while he was in the middle of the act.” Paul was the only known person arrested during the raids, taken away from Miami-Opa Locka airport in handcuffs, charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana. 

Christian, whose mother, Kim Porter, died in 2018, made headlines last week when he was detained alongside older brother Justin Combs, 30, during the raid on their dad’s Los Angeles compound. Photos obtained by Rolling Stone showed him handcuffed outside his dad’s Holmby Hills mansion. He was later released. (A second raid was carried out simultaneously at Combs’ compound in Miami.)

Justin’s mother, Misa Hylton, shared new video from the surprise search in an Instagram post on Tuesday. One grainy clip appeared to show Christian being handcuffed up against an interior wall. Another clip showed Justin walking toward agents with his hands on his head and guns pointed at his chest.

“The over zealous and overtly militarized force used against my sons Justin and Christian is deplorable,” Misa Hylton wrote. “If these were the sons of a non-Black celebrity, they would not have been handled with the same aggression.”

Federal officials have yet to disclose the exact basis for the search warrants, saying only that they were served as part of an “ongoing investigation” involving Homeland Security agents out of New York. A source tells  Rolling Stone  that  four Jane Does and one John Doe already sat for interviews with Southern District of New York investigators for a probe related to alleged sex trafficking.

One week later, as New York’s Adult Survivors Act was set to expire, two more women stepped forward on Thanksgiving Day with similarly disturbing claims against Combs. The second accuser alleged  Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her  when she was a Syracuse University student in 1991. The woman claimed Combs filmed the incident and showed the video to others in an act described as “revenge porn.” Through a rep, Combs denied the allegation. “This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law can be turned on its head. [This] 32-year-old story is made up and not credible. Mr. Combs never assaulted her, and she implicates companies that did not exist. This is purely a money grab and nothing more,” the spokesperson said.

In early December, a fourth accuser alleged Combs, former Bad Boy president Harve Pierre, and a third man  gang raped her at Combs’ New York recording studio in 2003  when she was 17 years old. In late February, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones  filed a lawsuit  accusing Combs of sexual assault, harassment, and not compensating him for work on the Grammy-nominated  The Love Album .
