A General Description of Motor Yacht KISSES

This sizeable luxury yacht KISSES is a motor yacht. This 53 metre (175 foot) luxury yacht was manufactured by The Feadship De Vries Shipyard in 2000. KISSES was once called 659. Superyacht KISSES is a stately yacht that is able to accommodate up to 10 people on board and has a total of 12 crew. Launched in the year of 2000 her reasonably modern interior design promulgates the abilities of the design work of George Larson/Robert Knack.

The Construction & Design of Luxury Yacht KISSES

The yacht's wider design collaboration came from De Voogt Naval Architects. The technical naval architecture drawings are the work of De Voogt Naval Architects. Motor Yacht KISSES received her elegant interior designing from the interior design company of George Larson/Robert Knack. the Netherlands is the country that The Feadship De Vries Shipyard built their new build motor yacht in. After the formal launch in 2000 in Aalsmeer the boat was thereafter delivered on to the yacht owner having completed final finishing. The main hull was built out of steel. The motor yacht superstructure is made extensively with aluminium. With a beam of 9.81 metres / 32.2 ft KISSES has fairly large interior. A fairly deep draught of 3m (9.8ft) limits the amount of overall ports she can enter into, depending on their particular depth at low tide. She had refit improvement and modification completed by 2008.

This boat is powered by two capable CATERPILLAR main engine(s) and can attain a swift max continuous speed of approximately 15 knots. The main engine of the yacht produces 1360 horse power (or 1001 kilowatts). Her total HP is 2720 HP and her total Kilowatts are 2001. Coupled to the KISSES engines are twin screw propellers. As for the yacht’s stabalisers she uses Vosper. For bow thruster maneuverability she was built with Holland Roer. KISSES has a/an accomplished cruise speed is 14 knots which gives a range of 3400.

Motor Yacht

The 53.34 metre (175’) custom-built Kisses yacht was launched in 2000 by Dutch shipyard Feadship and features a sophisticated exterior style by De Voogt Naval Architects, the in-house design studio who were also responsible for the naval architecture and layout on board; creating a complete package of comfortable living.

The George Larson and Robert Knack interior flows through the layout offering ample accommodation for 10 guests in both style and comfort. Kisses, built with steel hull and aluminium superstructure, is an immaculately maintained, stable, superyacht with a highly-skilled staff of 11 yacht crew adding the dimension of unrivalled service for those on board.

Refitted in 2008, the sleek exterior reflects the elegance on board, offering distinctive Feadship style wrapped around large volumes thanks to a beam of 9.80 metres (32’1”). Underway, guests can enjoy al-fresco dining and relaxation on the sun deck across the huge exterior spaces as well as true day-to-day comfort within for longer crossings. Capable of travelling at a top speed of 15.40 knots with a cruising speed of 12 knots in complete comfort in all weather conditions, capable of taking those on board across ranges of 3400 nautical miles.

Kisses Yacht: An Insider’s Guide

Kisses Yacht was built by yacht shipbuilders Feadship in the year 2000. The naval architecture comes from De Voogt naval architects, and the interior design is thanks to George Larson and Robert Knack. The eStudio De Voogt handled exterior design.

While the Kisses Yacht was the launch name of the yacht, it’s undergone a couple of changes in the last few years. It had a name change to become Alfa III some years ago, but then it underwent another name change and is currently known as the Mayan Queen. This information doesn’t jive with all the photos we’ve seen. As you can imagine, this yacht is a bit hard to pin down.

Several websites dispute the vessel’s naming, but the information we have regarding the ship’s first, past, and current names comes directly from Feadship. If something is incorrect regarding the actual name, they seem like the most accurate source. Some say she was previously named Mayan Queen, and the yacht owner was Alberto Bailleres, but his Mayan Queen is a 306-foot yacht built by Blohm and Voss and is not the same vessel.

Kisses features a steel hull; the superstructure is aluminum, while the decks are teak. 

Who is the Kisses Yacht Owner?

Kisses is owned by Norman Braman, the founder of Braman Motorcars and the one-time owner of the Philadelphia Eagles. Braman’s net worth is believed to be around $3 billion. He made his fortune with a vast empire of auto dealerships in Florida that sold high-end luxury cars like Rolls Royce and Cadillac, amongst many others. 

How Big is the Kisses Yacht?

The motor yacht Kisses qualifies as a superyacht at 175′ 3″ though it’s a reasonable distance from the biggest yachts in the world, like Azzam or even Jeff Bezos’ yacht Koru. Other detailed yacht specifications mention a 32′ beam and a draft of 10 feet. Regarding displacement, Kisses has a gross tonnage of 751 GT, which is pretty light overall for a vessel of this size.

How Much Did the Kisses Yacht Cost?

It’s been reported that Kisses cost about $35 million, which was what it was offered when they placed the yacht for sale back in 2012. There is also an estimated $3 million yearly operating cost for the yacht to cover expenses such as fuel and crew salaries and various taxes and fees.

Burgess Central Agency bought Kisses in 2016 when the price had dropped to $24,900,000.

Can You Charter the Kisses Yacht?

At this time, Kisses is not available for yacht charter.

How Fast is the Kisses Yacht and What Engines Does it Use?

Kisses is powered by twin Caterpillar 3512 E-DI-TA engines producing 1360 bhp at 1600 rpm. She can achieve a top speed of 15 knots with a cruising speed of 12 knots. Her range is more than 4,000nm thanks to the 77,400-liter fuel capacity. 

What’s the Interior of the Motor Yacht Kisses Like?

The yacht is designed to be manned by a crew of 12. There is some disagreement over how many guests it can accommodate, however. Many sites list ten, while Feadship says 14, and others split the difference at 12. There are five cabins, however, so it would seem off for there to be room for 14 in that space unless some are bigger than you’d expect on a vessel of this size. The information available suggests that there are four double cabins and one twin.

The interior design of the yacht is elegant and straightforward. There is no color scheme or theme across the entire yacht; each room is decorated to create a certain feeling. You’ll find soft earth tones and gold accents in one room, while another may be white offset with marble and silver. It all depends on the mood each room tries to create for guests.

Features and Amenities

There is surprisingly little information about the features available on board this luxury yacht. What can be seen in photos, however, includes large sundeck areas for sunbathing as well as a large Jacuzzi on the aft deck. This is located just beyond the indoor/outdoor bar, which offers a refreshment area for guests between the pool and a lounge area to socialize or dine casually.

Elsewhere onboard, you’ll find some more elegant gathering spaces, including another lounge area with a mirrored ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows giving the impression of almost being inside your fishbowl with all the light and glass surfaces around. 

The mirror ceilings are a theme throughout the vessel, and you’ll find the same in the formal dining area, which offers room for ten guests, and even in a salon/library area where guests can relax to socialize or read.

The yacht features sloped windows in the central and upper salon, which offer 180-degree views. The interior is art-deco inspired throughout. 

The Bottom Line

Billionaire Norman Braman originally owned the yacht known as Kisses. The ship was built by Feadship in 2000, and while it was put up for sale in 2012 at $35 million, it was purchased again by the Burgess yacht fleet in 2016 for just under $25 million.

The yacht is just over 175 feet long and offers accommodations for as many as ten guests in 5 cabins and 12 crew. Not much is known about the amenities on board the yacht or anything like water toys, but it was decorated in an art-deco style and features many sun pads on deck and a Jacuzzi tub for relaxation. Twin Caterpillar engines power her with a maximum speed of 15 knots.

47m Feadship superyacht Kiss sold

The 46.6-metre motor yacht Kiss has been sold in an in-house deal by Edmiston with Alex Busher representing the seller and Dirk Johnson bringing the buyer.

Built of aluminium by Dutch yard Feadship to Lloyd's class, Kiss was delivered in the summer of 2015 featuring a sporty sheerline courtesy of Dubois Naval Architects . An interior by RWD accommodates 12 guests in six cabins including an upper deck master suite with a private deck and a VIP suite on the main deck. 

A 2022 refit saw her generators rebuilt and engines serviced, while in 2021, the yacht enjoyed a full repaint and benefitted from the addition of two new tenders as well as a brand-new SeaDoo.

The exterior styling of  Kiss  stands out with its long stretch of continuous windows along the superstructure, giving the yacht a modern look. Complemented by sliding doors at the main entrance, the interior is bathed in natural light. The upper owner's deck, unusual for a yacht less than 50 metres, has an aluminium-plated sunroof, which opens to let more light in. A spa tub is found up on the sun deck alongside plentiful seating overlooking al fresco dining on the aft deck. 

Moving inside, Kiss boasts a main saloon with four sofas and a formal dining area for up to 10 guests with easy access from the fully-equipped galley. The space is thoroughly illuminated by day thanks to numerous large windows providing ample natural light. 

Twin 1,200hp Caterpillar engines give her a cruising speed of 12 knots. Having just completed routine maintenance, Kiss was sold just as the summer season kicked off in the Mediterranean.

She was on the market for just under a year.

Kiss was asking €27,500,000 with VAT paid.

Onboard Kiss has a range of toys and accessories to keep you and your guests entertained on the water throughout your stay. Take to the sea on a Jet Ski offering you power and control on the water. Kirsten Dunst admits iconic upside-down kiss in Spider-Man was 'miserable'

Kirsten Dunst has admitted that her iconic upside-down kiss in Spider-Man was "miserable".

During an appearance on Saturday's episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, the 41-year-old actress reflected on her on-screen kiss with Tobey Maguire in the hit 2002 superhero movie.

In the scene, Spider-Man, played by Tobey, is seen dangling upside down from a web in the pouring rain, while Kirsten's character Mary Jane locks lips with him while standing upright.

"I remember (the film's director) Sam Raimi giving me a book of famous kisses to be inspired but also he really wanted to make it special even though it was kind of miserable actually doing it," the Bring It On actress recalled.

"It was pouring with rain, freezing, Tobey couldn't breathe so it was almost like I was resuscitating him," she joked.

Despite being uncomfortable to film, the kiss became one of the most iconic big-screen kisses of all time. Kirsten and Tobey even won Best Kiss at the 2003 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Tobey has also spoken about the difficulties of the famous kiss in previous interviews.

"There was rain pouring down my nose...and then Kirsten pulls the mask up to (my nose) and it's blocking the air passage there, so I couldn't breathe," the actor said in a junket interview, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "And then she's kissing me, blocking the air passage there, so there's nowhere else to breathe."

“ Civil War ,” the A24 action-thriller about a violently divided United States, isn’t offering up much in the way of escapism. Though it takes place in the dystopian future, it not-so-subtly feeds into the blue-state/red-state rift that’s sure to widen as the race for the White House heats up.

That strategy is prominent in the movie’s patriotic-tinged marketing materials, which include a blood-soaked trailer featuring a missile that blows up the Lincoln Memorial, a poster of soldiers sandbagging the Statue of Liberty’s flame and references to successionist forces of California and Texas.

That was the case with Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” remake, which suffered blowback because of racist objections to the casting of Black actor Halle Bailey as Ariel. Ditto Pixar’s 2022 spinoff “Lightyear” (the offender was a same-sex kiss) and 2023’s “Barbie” (a cartoon map depicting Asia). In some instances, the provocation was accidental; in others, such as Disney’s animated “Strange World” (a fantasy adventure with a gay protagonist), attempts to be inclusive instead revealed dividing lines in public opinion.

“I don’t think an overabundance of controversy is helpful,” says Peter Newman, head of the graduate dual degree program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. “You can’t afford to lose 50% of people.”

Studios are, as a rule, cautious about ideas and elements in movies that could alienate audiences. But that trepidation is heightened during an election year, when politics can seep into movies whether Hollywood wants it to or not. And in 2024, the bitter partisanship that has fueled Donald Trump’s political career has only escalated as he faces a rematch with President Joe Biden. Consider that 65% of Americans say they feel exhausted when thinking about politics, according to a Pew Research Center poll — and it’s no surprise marketing departments have made a concerted effort to tread lightly with messaging or promotional campaigns that could be perceived as leaning one way or the other.

“It’s not worth it to make a joke that will make the left laugh but will alienate the right,” says one studio executive.

Movies can take eons to travel from inception to completion, so it’s impossible to anticipate the state of affairs by the time a film is ready to hit the big screen. Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment’s “Dune: Part Two” managed to side-step debate around its plotline, which integrates themes of religion, regional conflicts and the perils of cult-like worship of charismatic leaders. But internally, there was concern that audiences might react negatively at a time when such issues have renewed relevance both in the U.S. and in the Middle East, which finds itself embroiled in war.

“If people either legitimately or accidentally read a political bias in something, it screws up the marketing plan,” says Newman. “It was hard enough before people got extremely sensitive about every little thing.”

Some filmgoers turn to the movies as an escape from the headlines and the barrage of election ads on television. But studios may be laying off all marketing efforts in the weeks before or after the election. Tom Hardy’s superhero sequel “Venom: The Last Dance” was slated to debut on Nov. 8, but Sony recently moved up its release to Oct. 25. Now, no major movies are on the calendar for the first week of November, and there won’t be another tentpole until “Gladiator 2” on Nov. 22, followed by “Wicked” and “Moana 2” on Nov. 27.

“It’s going to be a quiet time in terms of releasing new material. You’ll be drowned out by noise and people won’t be paying attention,” says the studio executive. “Anything opening the week of the election, good luck. It’ll be hard to break through.”

As for “Civil War,” which doesn’t take sides in its futuristic American conflict, analysts believe commercial viability won’t rise or fall on the political nature of the film.
