Come sailing on MEGISTI, a 12.6 metre catamaran, on the Wellington Harbour.

Megisti is in current Maritime NZ survey, and is licensed to carry up to 20 passengers. She is a luxury vessel, with air conditioning, 240 volt/12 volt power, four toilets and four showers in private double cabins (three cabins available on charter for overnighters).

iPod/CD/DVD, television and sound system with sub woofer/amp setup, microwave, full galley with crockery and cutlery for 20 guests. Fully licensed.

Underwater blue LED lights, to give the touch of the tropics and to attract fish at night. The setup with the bridge deck cabin gives 360-degree vision, and twin unsinkable kayaks are ready to use on trips with anchoring. 3 stand-up paddleboards are also available for even more wow!

Luxury cruises around Wellington Harbour, on a beautiful 42-ft long licensed catamaran.  Up to 20 people can enjoy life aboard the 'Megisti', with onboard entertainment and catering facilities.

Sailed in from the Caribbean, 'Megisti' is a sturdy, majestic vessel fully equipped with the latest in iPod/TV/DVD/sound system entertainment, full air conditioning, and a fantastic galley kitchen that can cater for up to 20 people, including a great BBQ for the summer months.

Three private cabins with full bathroom facilities are available for overnight charters, for those who want to experience the ultimate in high end, boutique cruising.  Underneath her, the 'Megisti' has an incredible, almost ethereal, LED lighting system that attracts fish and other wildlife, so you're never far away from some of New Zealand's most beautiful marine creatures.

Up on deck, you can drink in unparalleled panoramic views of Wellington Harbour.  If you really love messing about on the water, there are paddleboards and kayaks just waiting for you to give them a go.

The 'Megisti' is available for all kinds of events, from short 90-minute harbour jaunts, to Pizza, Kebab and Drinks Cruises, private family parties, weddings, stag and hen parties, sailing courses, B&B, corporate team building, fishing trips, island/beach hopping, mystery destination cruises and even ashes-scattering (where will you find anywhere more beautiful?).

Regular High Teas on the High Seas cruises are available from September.  Please note that 24 hours notice is required, especially for groups of over 6 people.

The Kas-Megisti-Kekova route is one of the most popular routes for yacht charters. During this yacht charter you have the opportunity to swim and explore underwater treasures in the fascinating bays of Kas and cruise the bays of the historically rich  Kekova region. You can also visit the lovely Greek island of Kastellorizo which is just a few kilometres off the coast of Turkey. (Kastellorizio  is also known as Megisti – Meis).

Your Kas Megisti yacht charter starts at Kas Marina and we visit Twelve Isles, Inonu Bay, Aperlai, Yaglica Bay the sunken city at Kalekoy, Gokkaya Bay, Tersane Bay and Megisti Island. It’s your holiday and we can make detours to include other places you wish to visit too. Our boat also provides accommodation. One of the most special part of chartering in this area is that you can visit the famous Blue Cave using our speedboat.Our yacht charters can be for one week or less. The itinerary shared with you consists of general information and it differs according to the length of your Kas-Megisti-Kekova yacht charter.  You will not be tied to any particular schedule as your Kas yacht rental is private.

Our yacht sails off the marina at  a departure time specified by you and our  voyage of adventure  tracks your chosen route.

Day 1 : The first stop of our Kas Megisti yacht charter is Inonu Bay, known for its  cool water in the Mediterranean.  Then we sail for Aperlai Bay where a ruined castle and the walls of an ancient Lycian city lie at rest under the waters. Here you will be served a tasty lunch overlooked by archeological ruins lining the shore and replete with a pond filled with buffaloes.  After lunch we head off for  Gokkaya Bay where we anchor for the night. You can swim or if you like paddle board, and kayak free-of-charge. This is all included  in your Kas boat rental. You are welcome to  climb into  our  speedboat to visit Korsan Cave after which we  return to lay the table for a delightful dinner.  Upon request, we can  take you to  Smugglers Inn Korsan Bar at Gokkaya Bay only accessible only by privately rented boats such as ours.

Day 2 : After falling asleep sleep under the stars you may wake for breakfast to a lovely sunrise. Following a hearty breakfast, we set sail for Kekova Island, rich with archaeological remains . You can bone up on local history as we explore the sunken city near there and then take a swimming break in Tersane Bay. Later on, we alter our course to Kalekoy, once a notable settlement in Roman times. Following our promenade to the castle and the lovely village, we have lunch on our boat. We sail to Karalos, renown for its turquoise coloured waters and interesting  historical heritage. The  turquoise colors keep their deep blue even after sunset and this is where  we sleep that night – in  this especially  charming bay.

Day 3 : After our breakfast at this bay heavily scented with the  sweet fragrance of  jasmin we sail for Yaglica Bay. Nested in nature’s beauty you can swim in this lovely bay or  entertain yourself with various activities available on our boat. After spending some pleasant hours there, we head to Kas Marina so that we can carry out your passport procedures for your Megisti Island visit.  We then set sail to the island which is visited by thousands of visitors each year.? who either take the local ferry or hire a boat. a service available in Kas Marina. After a 20-minute trip on board and only 1 nautical knot  from Kas, Kastellorizo Island is a welcoming sight . The azure waters of Mediterranean sparkle in the sun and brightly coloured  Lego brick houses will charm  the moment we draw up between the local fishing boasts.  In the town  you will find a fortress, several churches, a museum, a small hospital, some bank branches, and a duty free-shop.  If you wish, we can accompany you to act as guides to point out the  island’s attractions. Later we take you on our speedboat to visit the second largest cave in Europe:-The Blue Grotto- and  if we’re lucky watch  Mediterranean Seals frolicking on the shore. We then have dinner and anchor in a calm bay facing the bright lights of Meis Island.

Day 4 : We wake up to a panoramic view of the island, begin a new day with breakfast on board and look forward to spending time in the delightful  bays of Megisti. Our Kas Megisti yacht charter ends as we slowly sail back to Kas Marina on  gentle Mediterranean waves.

Luxury catamaran charters are a firm guest favourite for those embarking on Caribbean vacation, especially in the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. Thanks to their shallow draft, catamarans give you the ability to get close to cays and islets guests can savor the thrilling feeling of being able to jump off-board at almost any point. 

The charter cost of a motor yacht, sailing yacht or luxury catamaran rental in the Caribbean will vary according to the vessel's size, age, type, number of crew, as well as the location and duration of the vacation as well as the season it takes place. 

With so many options available, there’s something to suit every type of budget. For convenience we have listed the average prices for motor yacht and sailing yacht charters in the Caribbean below;

• For motor yacht rentals in the Caribbean, prices can range from $39,167 to $1.4m per week, plus expenses
• For luxury sailing yacht rentals in the Caribbean, prices can go from $29,855 to $276,495 weekly, plus expenses

The best time for luxury yacht charters in the Caribbean is between November and March, when guests can expect clement weather and vividly blue cloudless skies.

Another aspect to keep in mind is that this is also the time when you will have the largest selection of yachts to choose from, as most charter yachts descend on the Caribbean around November after the Mediterranean season has ended and any yacht maintenance has been carried out, before returning back to the Mediterranean in March/April.

The most popular starting point for a Caribbean yacht rental is usually in either Saint Martin/Sint Maarten or  Antigua,  both of which have international airports.

It is certainly possible to begin your charter in other Caribbean destinations, providing this has been agreed with the Owner and charter broker .

Where to End a Caribbean Yacht Charter

For most private Caribbean yacht charters, there isn't one definitive place where to disembark given the vastness of the region. However, what is likely is that you will finish your yacht rental vacation in the same location that you started. For example, the majority of  British Virgin Island yacht charters will begin and end in St Thomas, while for Antigua yacht charters , it'll be the iconic English Harbour.

The Caribbean offers some of the most spellbinding berthing spots in the world. These tropical, barefoot hotspots are of the finest calibre, surrounded by jaw-dropping scenery, and often feature award-winning restaurants, hip boutiques, beach bars and more.

But which marinas are the best? Below are some charter favorites:

• Falmouth Harbour, Antigua: impressive marina facilities and scenery, catering to yachts up to 100m.
• Marina Fort Louis, Saint Martin: offers 150 berths for yachts up to 79m.
• Crown Bay in St Thomas (USVI): full-serviced marina with 99 slips, including 16 berths for superyachts up to 60m
• Port Louis Marina, Grenada: idyllically located, with 227 moorings for yachts up to 91m.
• Port de Gustavia, Saint Barts: widely regarded as one of the most beautiful natural harbours in the world, accommodating up to 152 yachts up to 152m.
• Puerto Del Rey, Puerto Rico : conveniently located as a jumping off point for yacht charters incorporating the Virgin Islands and Lesser Antilles, this marina has plentiful wet slips, including capacity for yachts up to 200ft (60m) LOA.

We strongly advise booking through a qualified  yacht charter broker at least three months in advance for all Caribbean yacht charters. By doing so, you will increase the likelihood of securing your preferred dates and you will have a greater selection of yachts on offer to choose from.

This also ensures your yacht broker has enough time to craft a carefully curated itinerary and secure an overnight berth in the most popular Caribbean marinas.

The best time to visit the Caribbean is generally December to April, when it's a little cooler and less humid. But the best month to visit can differ depending on the island, budget and interests you have. For example, some yacht charter guests may decide to visit May to June and late November, when weather is still fantastic but there are fewer crowds.

We advise booking your Caribbean yacht rental at least three months in advance to ensure you get the yacht you desire. The longer you leave it, the fewer choices you will have to rent in the Caribbean.

For your Caribbean superyacht charter, you will need to provide a completed charter agreement and 50% of the charter fee as a deposit. This is payable once the contract has been signed.

When booking a Caribbean yacht rental, do keep in mind the costs that aren't included in the base rate, namely VAT and the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance). The APA is usually paid in advance of the charter and is commonly set at 30% of the charter fee. This allowance covers expenses such as fuel, berthing, food and drinks, as well as any special requests.
