The 68.2m/223'9" 'Q' expedition yacht built by shipyard Royal Niestern Sander is available for charter for up to 12 guests in 8 cabins. She originally served as an ice breaking multipurpose support supply vessel before being converted into a yacht by Icon Yachts in 2020. This yacht features interior styling by British designer RWD.

Built in 2012, Q is made for thrilling adventure and exploration in the most remote places around the globe. She has sensational features such as a helipad, spa and gym.

Guest Accommodation

Q offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 8 suites comprising a master suite, four double cabins and one twin cabin. There are 9 beds in total, including 2 king, 4 queen and 2 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

A charter on Q is comfortable and convenient thanks to the provided amenities such as a steam room, all you need to relax muscles and reduce stress. Take the opportunity to be thoroughly pampered and indulged in the spa and in addition guests can enjoy a dip in the pool. A gym with all the latest equipment is available for a good work out plus retreat to the deck jacuzzi and soak up the scenery.

Q benefits from some excellent features to improve your charter such as a helipad, allowing seamless travel to and from land. Whether you want to work, use social media or stream movies on board this yacht, you can with Wi-Fi connectivity and in addition guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Built with a steel hull and steel superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots with a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles from her 817,000 litre fuel tanks. An advanced stabilisation system on board reduces the side-to-side roll of the yacht and promises guests exceptional comfort levels at anchor or when underway.

Set against the backdrop of your chosen cruising ground, you and your guests can enjoy fun on the water with the collection of water toys and accessories aboard Q. Principle among these is a U-Boat Worx C-Explorer 3 submarine for exploring amazing marine life. Take to the sea on the Jet Skis offering you power and control on the water. When it comes to Tenders, Q has you covered - with two tenders, including a 8.9m/29'2" Marell Tender.

Sailing yacht Q (Ex Mondango 2) is a 52 m (170 ft) luxury yacht that was built by Alloy Yachts in 2008. Yacht Q was the fifth yacht over 50 meters in length built by Alloy Yachts of New Zealand and was specifically designed to perform long voyages. The impressive superyacht features naval architecture by Dubois Naval Architects with key involvement by her dedicated owners.

The luxury sailing yacht Q’s interior was designed by Reymond Langton and exudes a colourful contemporary Asian style with a combination of light oak panelling and dark brown leather trims, glass panel artworks, Inuit Sculptures and flooring cut in a unique radial design with wool and silk carpets.

Superyacht Q boasts a majestic blue hull with a Matterhorn white superstructure. Yacht Q extends further aft than the other Alloy and Dubois yachts, creating a large curved cockpit area and side windows which can be opened or closed providing climate control.

The Q sailing yacht is able to accommodate up to 10 guests on board and has a total of 9 crew members. Guests are accommodated in 5 cabins located on the lower deck including a full beam Owners stateroom with a unique vanity carved from rare pink onyx and a Japanese-style toilet that can be completely controlled by a remote, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. All the guest staterooms are themed in distinctive colours with the throws, cushions and bed covers designed in London to coordinate specifically with each atmosphere.

Q Specifications

The high performance aluminium ketch Q has been built to Lloyds Classification and complies with the Large Commercial Yacht Code LY2. S/Y Q boasts carbon fibre masts by Marten Spars of New Zealand which hold fully battened in-boom furling. The yacht’s sails are by North sails and there are 18 captive and 8 vertical winches.

The ketch Q’s main auxiliary engine is a 3412D 1200hp Caterpillar giving a range of 7.200nm at 10 knots. She also boasts two 90kw Northern Lights generators and two water makers supplying up to 16000 liters per day. Her SeaTouch system has six touch screen monitors to indicate systems and alarm status. Her CCTV operates with four cameras located throughout the yacht.

Yacht Accommodation

Yacht Q is able to accommodate up to 10 guests on board in 5 luxurious cabins located on the lower deck. The master cabin features an Inuit sculpture in Serpentine stone by Niviaqsi and a unique glassblown/metal piece named the ‘Tear Drop Vessel’ by Australian artist Brian Hirst. The master cabin en-suite features a carved one piece vanity in rare pink onyx with a hammered stainless steel sink and a Japanese-style toilet combining both bidet and toilet functions. In addition to the Master cabin there are two VIP cabins and two twin cabins. Each cabin is themed in distinctive colours and boasts throws, cushions and bed covers designed in London to coordinate specifically with each atmosphere. The guest lobby is spacious and boasts a beautiful glass panel, designed and crafted by London artist Julia and a unique interwoven leather and metal clad mirror. The day head leading from the lobby is adorned in green onyx and also boasts a Japanese-style toilet.

Luxury sailing yacht Mondango, built in 2008 by New Zealand shipyard Alloy Yachts, is modern and fresh with all the timeless trimmings of a classic ketch. With an aluminium hull and superstructure, she features exterior design by Dubois while her interior is the work of Reymond Langton. This fine sailing vessel measures 51.8 metres and can accommodate up to 10 guests sleeping or 12 cruising.

Sailing yacht Mondango features elegant design meticulously overseen by her dedicated owners, an International Businessman and his wife, who were significantly involved in all aspects of the yacht’s build. The fifth yacht measuring over 50 metres for Alloy, she has benefited from the design experience of her sister yachts and stands out on the water with her striking blue topsides and white superstructure.

The superyacht features sails handled by 18 captive and eight vertical winches and is fitted with carbon fibre masts with fully battened in-boom furling. She has been specifically designed to perform long voyages without the need for shore-based support.

Her sundeck is a true highlight of her bright design, featuring large, plush seating areas equipped with small details that set her apart, especially the attractive and handy self-draining drink trays fitted into the glossy wood tables. The cockpit is another area of mention, featuring side and curved rear windows that open and close at the touch of a button to allow for climate control or enhanced sea views.

The interior of the vessel is contemporary Asian, a striking combination of light oak panelling and dark brown leather trims that adorn everything from the walls and stair rails to door handles and blinds. Throughout the décor is the use of the Japanese symbol meaning ‘hand’, a tribute to the owner’s background in textiles.

The sailing yacht is host to an entire showcase of interesting artworks from designers the world over. The main saloon sports plush wool and silk carpets, Japanese inspired artwork and a massive television screen.

Amongst her five cabins are an indulgent owner’s suite; two VIP cabins; and two twin cabins, all of which are located on the lower deck. The full-beam owner’s suite boasts a unique vanity carved from rare pink onyx and a Japanese-style toilet that can be completely controlled by a remote. Each suite is features individual styling and colour schemes, from the cushions and bed covers to the bathroom design.

Featuring a dedicated crew, Mondango is an excellent charter yacht for luxury vacations. The yacht cruises comfortably at 12 knots while her crew of 10 ensure the needs of every guest are met.

The luxury sailing yacht is equipped with an armada of water toys to provide endless entertainment during any yacht charter. Onboard water toys include a Nautica tender, sailing dinghy, kayaks, wake boards, inflatables, and a range of fishing and snorkelling equipment.

The superyacht carries an American Bureau of Shipping and Lloyds classification and complies with the Large Commercial Yacht Code LY2. Mondango cruises the West and East Mediterranean during the summer and heads to the Caribbean for the winter charter season. She has only been available for charter since May 2009.
