Pocket Yacht Company becomes the dealer for the all-new boat brand, Solara. Solara is the new brand of boats from the manufacturer Fluid Motion, the builder of Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats.

On June 11 th , long-time Ranger Tug and Cutwater Boat dealer, Pocket Yacht Company, held a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration for their new sales location in New Bern, North Carolina.
The New Bern location is Pocket Yacht Company’s third location on the East Coast, including locations in Maryland and Florida. The new facility is conveniently located at 4310 US-70, New Bern, NC 28560.
“We are elated to open our new location in New Bern,” says Managing Director and Owner, Mark Schulstad. “Our strong team in the Carolinas will be led by Bryan Harris. His talents, expertise, and strong family ties to the area will uniquely serve the demand of customers traveling the Carolinas, Intracoastal Waterway, and beyond.”

New Bern neighbor concerned over eyesore in Riverside Historical District
NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - Residents on National Avenue in New Bern’s Riverside Historical District are frustrated with a neighboring home they say has become an eyesore.
Neighbor Maureen Lagasse said, “My quality of life is not good because I have to live next to this... It’s not a good idea for city officials to allow this kind of thing to continue because I know they’re trying to attract people to New Bern for retirement.”
Attempts to speak to the home’s owner were unsuccessful.
Last October, the property owners received a court order for violating New Bern’s land use ordinance, including using the property as an automotive graveyard and violating open storage regulations.
Despite some improvements, Lagasse remains concerned about her home’s potential loss in value, estimated at tens of thousands of dollars by a real estate agent.
Real estate broker Stewart Downey commented, “If we’re talking about a home not for sale, not actively on the market, the property next door probably isn’t going to affect the value too much... There’s a chance that prospective buyers would not necessarily want to make a purchase with a house next door that wasn’t in the best possible condition.”
After a neighbor’s complaint, a May inspection by the city found no violations, as the vehicles on the property are tagged and operational. An inspector was sent on Wednesday to further investigate. i
