Designed by leading British architects, including fashion designer Tristram Webber, The Silver Sturgeon is a sight to behold.

With a main deck that includes a central bar and elegantly sculptured staircase, it has the flexibility to transform into theatre style venue, seating 350 guests, or a total dining facility for 440 diners.

With the latest high calibre technology and a sophisticated lighting system able to adjust to the mood of the occasion onboard, The Silver Sturgeon provides everything needed for large corporate events, weddings, presentations, product launches or private screenings.

The Silver Sturgeon’s upper deck is fitted with an open air glass bar, complimented by chrome finishing that offers breathtaking views of The River Thames. The lower deck has a luxuriously neutral palette, think hues of butterscotch, intertwined with natural oak and maple finishing.

With subtly illuminated glass and shades of taupe throughout, the interiors of the Silver Sturgeon have been specially designed to allow the space onboard to adapt to each clients’ individual vision.

Although beautiful in design and architecture within its own right, this is the ultimate blank canvas. A cool, multi-functional space and a stunning backdrop for any corporate or private event.

The Silver Sturgeon is a sight to behold with a main deck that includes a central bar and elegantly sculptured staircase, it host large events, receptions or theatre style conferencing. Our flagship vessel, the Silver Sturgeon, is the largest in the Woods’ Silver Fleet venue collection. Elegantly styled in luxurious and neutral tones, the Silver Sturgeon is a contemporary and sleek river yacht, with the capacity to accommodate up to 550 guests for a stylish cocktail reception, or 440 for an impressive seated lunch or dinner. The Silver Sturgeon offers great flexibility, as the Ensign Room at the stern of the vessel and its smaller back deck are ideal for welcome receptions and breakout space, alongside the River Room at the front, the largest internal space, perfect for larger meetings, receptions and dinners. Stairs lead up from both rooms to the open top deck, where guests can take in the impressive views as they cruise along the Thames. The benefit of ample outside space makes the Silver Sturgeon the perfect choice for summer events, with BBQs available on the back deck and summer cocktails served from any of the three onboard bars. During the winter months, the impressive illuminated river light installation along central London’s river bridges creates the most beautiful backdrop for events aboard. As a sailing vessel, the Silver Sturgeon can access many of the central London pier locations, picking your guests up and dropping them back off at a location convenient to you. Typically, the Silver Sturgeon sails between the Houses of Parliament and the 02, guaranteeing the most impressive backdrop of riverside landmarks as you cruise, including Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. There is also the option to keep the Silver Sturgeon alongside a chosen pier for longer periods of time. The Silver Sturgeon is available to hire on a minimum event spend basis, varying between £15,000-£45,000 depending on time of the year/day of the week. We are proud to offer our own in house catering, and our costs will include our Charter fee, food and beverage costs, equipment hire charges, staffing costs and pier charges.

3 Cancellation by you 3.1 If you wish to cancel your Booking, such cancellation must be made in writing to us immediately and we may, subject to clause 3.4, charge a Cancellation Fee. 3.2 The Cancellation Fee will be payable by reference to a percentage of the Estimated Event Charge and Room Hire and/or the cost of hiring a boat and any sums under clause 3.3 and/or clause 5.9, such Woods’ Silver Fleet, Woods Quay, Victoria Embankment, WC2N 6AY amount being dependant on how much notice of cancellation is given before the Event, as follows: Percentage Number of clear Working Days notice given Number of clear working days notice given in writing before Event Date Percentage (%) of estimated Event Charges payable Percentage of Room and/or Boat Hire charge payable 180 days or more nil 10% Between 120 and 179 10% 25% Between 90 and 119 20% 50% Between 60 and 89 30% 100% Between 30 and 59 80% 100% Between 15 and 29 90% 100% Less than 14 days 100% 100% 3.3 In the event of a Booking being cancelled after a food tasting has taken place, there shall be an additional charge payable by you equal to the sum of £650 + VAT. 3.4 If, after you have given us notice to cancel your Booking, we are able to hire the Room(s) and/or boat to another client for the time of your Booking, the Cancellation Fee will be reduced by any sums we receive from such other client for that booking. We will use our reasonable efforts to rehire the room(s) and or boat. 3.5 We may retain all or part of any money already paid by you, in whole or partial satisfaction of the Cancellation Fee. 3.6 Suitable insurance cover should be sought by you in the event that your Booking is cancelled and you incur the Cancellation Fee.

The Woods family have been Thames Watermen since 1866. They launched into the 20th Century with sightseeing tours by Lillian and Alfred Woods from the Tower of London. Lillian encouraged her son Alan's inspired idea to gradually build the 'Silver Fleet' in the 1960s, each vessel handcrafted for the River Thames, in Kent and Suffolk shipyards.

In the decades since, Woods' Silver Fleet have become highly sought after London 'hideaways' with yacht interiors, detailed finishes and hospitality. The Silver Sturgeon, Silver Barracuda and Silver Darling have been privately chartered for film stars, politicians and British Royalty for decades.

Chair, Alan Woods was awarded an MBE for Services to River Travel in 2020. He is also a Past Master of the Company of Watermen & Lightermen and is an 'Extra Waterman to HM the Queen'.

After nearly twenty years in their roles, siblings Thomas, Kate & William Woods navigate the Silver Fleet into the 21st century, pushing the boundaries of events & shipbuilding on the Thames, all from their new central London home, Woods Quay.

Sipping cocktails here on a long hot summer evening whilst taking in what are arguably the best views of London is a magnificent experience. About the event

New year’s eve 2024 aboard silver sturgeon with the mayor’s fireworks & the illuminated river..

Cruise through London’s glistening riverscape aboard our sixty-one metre river yacht, Silver Sturgeon, and celebrate the arrival of 2025 to the chimes of Big Ben with Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne.

Since mid 2021, the Illuminated River artwork on all central London’s bridges from London Bridge to Lambeth Bridge, creates an ever-changing colourful light display with a unique viewpoint from the Thames. To enhance the experience of moving gently through the architectural lighting artwork by artist Leo Villereal, the tables and decks will be specially lit by candle light.

Eat, drink & make merry with a seasonal menu from small UK producers by Executive Head Chef, Marcus Cunningham, an inspired mood and dance floor mixed soundtrack with our resident DJ and matched fine wines.

Board the Silver Sturgeon at Tower Bridge Quay beside Tower Bridge, with glasses of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Champagne on arrival and take in the panorama of London’s shimmering river banks from your dining table or the candle-lit, teak deck bar; interiors will feature sculptural winter displays and booth seats draped with soft faux fur throws.

Your delicious menu will be sleekly served – from amuse bouche to petits fours – on the main deck tables, decorated for the occasion. A Champagne toast will accompany the chimes of Big Ben at Westminster and the spectacular mayor’s fireworks, enjoyed from both our spacious open decks.
