Day Charters

Tampa Bay has plenty to offer for a perfect yacht charter. We offer 4 hour rentals, 6 hour rentals, and full-day rentals. We also offer multi-day trips. Day charters are an affordable way for you and your crew to rent a private yacht with Captain and Crew included. Also included in the price is local cruising fuel, cleaning fees, service fees & taxes, and even some gratuity on most charter listings. Most of our boats have a 13 guest max, not including the Captain and Crew.

Beer Can Island is a locally famous boating destination, smack dab in the middle of the bay. If you're renting a yacht from downtown Tampa or St. Petersburg, Beer Can Island is a perfect destination only requiring a 4 hour (half-day) rental. If you want to stay at the island longer, we also offer 6 hour and 8 hour trips. The water may not be crystal clear, but this is the most popular party spot for boats for a reason. Johns Pass is located a bit further south and is a great local meet up location for boaters. Weather in Tampa Bay

Always keep in mind the weather when planning your yacht rental experience. Tampa Bay is an ideal location for a yacht charter, either while on vacation or “staycation” because of the wonderful weather patterns. With winters ranging in the 70°s and summers in the 90's, there's no wrong time to visit. While it may rain frequently in Tampa Bay, the storms are almost always scattered and very short in duration, often times only lasting a few minutes and then the sun is shining again. If you're traveling to Tampa Bay in the cooler months of the year, be sure to pack some layers to wear while on your boating trip, especially if you plan to go yachting in the evening. If you're traveling during the summer months, remember to stay hydrated and take some extra precautions when it comes to sun care.

Important Notes

Parties of 7 or more will be utilizing our bare boat contract. The renter under a bare boat agreement assumes full responsibility for the boat, the equipment, the passengers, and has the right to decide who drives/captains the boat for the day. The renter can choose their own captain, or ask Salt Luxury Charters to assign one for them. If choosing your own captain, we will require that they are knowledgeable of the local waterways, have CPR and first aid valid training with certificate, and are a part of a drug consortium. The charterer may also dismiss the crew at anytime. The charterer is also responsible for bringing the boat and it's equipment back in good, working order. 

If weather and/or wind is undesirable on the day of your tour, we will reschedule or provide a full refund.

Once you confirm your reservation, your broker will process your payment.

• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is confirmed more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of either $1,000 USD or 50% of the total cost of the reservation (whichever is greater) is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 7 days away, the remainder of the amount due is processed.
• If you are booking for a single day and your reservation is made 7 days or less in advance, the total price of your reservation is processed immediately.
• If you are booking for a multi-day charter and your reservation is confirmed more than 30 days in advance, a deposit of 50% of the cost of the yacht is processed immediately in order to hold the yacht. Once your embarkation date is 30 days away, the other 50% is collected for the price of the yacht, plus the APA, plus the taxes due.

Terms of refunds are dictated by the Charter Agreement. Generally, once a payment is collected, it is non-refundable. In certain circumstances, as dictated by the Charter Agreement, credits can be provided so you will be able to enjoy your yacht charter at a future date that is convenient for you.

Things to Keep in Mind:

• Per Federal US Coast Guard Regulations, maximum 13 passengers allowed. No exceptions will be made.
• The Yacht has surround system throughout, you can stream your favorite playlist from your i- phone.
• This vessel comes with life jackets, emergency and first aid kits. If you have known allergies or medical requirements, please bring medication in the event of an emergency.
• Your day begins at the time stated in your signed Charter Agreement. If you are late to the dock, we will not adjust the duration of the trip, we must follow the Charter Agreement.
• Children are allowed on board and are counted as a passenger.
• Shoes must be removed before entering the yacht. Barefoot or socks but no shoes allowed.
• We require 50% down to secure the date and the balance is due 20 days prior to your trip.

What Not to Bring:

• Chocolate of any kind.
• Confetti cannons or glitter of any kind are prohibited.
• Smoking is not allowed, vaping only.
• Spray sunscreen is not allowed. Lotion only.
• Shoes must be removed before entering the yacht.

When playing a weekend , I search all my socials for activities to do. I kept seeing to try the bay rocket . We decided to try the night tour to avoid the heat. SO much fun , need to try when in Tampa ! You definitely find why it's called a rocket . Crew was very sweet , funny and attentive . Music was upbeat and the crew will dance up and down the aisle . Definitely want to try the day tour next time .

Really fun event to do with teens. You will get wet but worth it. Leave time to shower and change after.

Memorial Day warning: How to know if your chartered boat is illegal

T AMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — With Memorial Day weekend quickly approaching, the United States Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg has a message for those who plan to be out on the water.

The Coast Guard said some of the boats advertised on social media fail to meet federal regulations. Officials warn that searching for a deal to get on a boat may lead to a dangerous situation, one that could even be illegal.

Sector St. Petersburg monitors the water on the west coast of Florida from about the Fenholloway River to Marco Island, ensuring vessels are operating legally and safely.

“We have had accidents in our area where people are operating illegally who carried too many people,” said USCG Senior Investigating Officer Brian Knapp.

Knapp said the Coast Guard recognizes two different classifications of passenger vessels. One is an uninspected passenger vessel that may carry no more than six paying passengers that’s called a six pack.

“If you’re getting on a smaller class boat like a pontoon boat and they’re carrying more than six, you probably are getting on a boat that they’re not qualified to operate,” he said.

The Coast Guard said it has seen some of those illegal charters in Tampa Bay posing as sunset boats, dolphin encounters and tiki boats.

The other is an inspected passenger vessel, such as the Bay Rocket or Yacht StarShip. These boats are heavily regulated by the Coast Guard and have a certificate of inspection.

“You should expect to see this on any vessel caring more than six passengers,” said Knapp. “You should expect to see this if you don’t see it, we recommend you don’t get on the boat.”

But how do you know if the one you are getting on is legitimate? In both cases, Knapp said passengers have the right to ask the captain to see their captain’s license.

“The first thing that that person should do is to ask to see the license and if they don’t have it, don’t get on the boat,” he said.

Knapp said there are many charter vessels operating legally. You have to watch out for the ones operating illegally. For those, there are civil penalties and even criminal provisions in some cases.

The Coast Guard said do your research beforehand, so when you do get out on the water you are able to return safely. If you notice something is off or could be illegal, call the Coast Guard to report it at 866-881-1392.

Local couple to host boat parade to support RFK

TAMPA, Fla. — Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running as a third-party candidate. Some believe that he could pull in voters from both sides of the aisle, some say, with a local couple working to support him with a boat parade.

Dr. Joshua Scacco is the director of Sustainable Democracy at University of South Florida. He asserts there is a chance Democrat and Republican voters could be drawn to Kennedy’s presidential run. 

“You can look at vaccine skepticism as one of those issues. On the other side, there are also issues that Kennedy has that might be more favorable to Joe Biden. For instance, environmentalism,” Scacco said. 

A local Palm Harbor couple is planning a boat parade to show support for RFK. Ronny and Ally Snow are attracted to Kennedy’s policies on healthcare, vaccinations, foreign policy, and other issues like a national minimum wage. Ronny Snow voted for Trump in 2020 and Ally Snow is a Libertarian. 

“He’s an intellectual, and he is also spiritual. He truly cares about the people. You can tell by the things he has done in the past,” Ally Snow said. 

The couple said they are fed up with the country’s two-party system. They want to see more change brought to Washington, D.C. They are working to get RFK Jr. on the ballot in Florida.

Kennedy is now on the ballot in five states, but the campaign says it has enough signatures to get on more than nine states and have petitions running in the remaining states. 

For Ally Snow, she says supporting Kennedy is the right thing to do and it wouldn’t be throwing away a vote. 

“I think if everyone truly voted for who best represents their values, I don’t think that would be the case and I don’t think who you are voting for is ever throwing it away,” Ally Snow said. 

The Snows are holding a  boat parade  to show support for RFK on May 19 at 10 a.m. The meeting will be at the south end of Three Rooker Island. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will make its way to John’s Pass and circle around the inter-coastal islands and end around 4 p.m. back at Rooker Island.
