Inside 'America's most haunted cigar bar' that stands tall here in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE— A Milwaukee spot is known as “America’s most haunted cigar bar,” and gets to play that up around Halloween.

Shaker’s Cigar Bar is in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point. The building was built in 1894, as a cooperage for Schlitz Brewing.

Then prohibition hit.

“That is when the Capone brothers, Al, Frank and Ralph Capone, took ownership of this building,” said Marley Decker, a tour guide for Shaker’s. “That’s when it operated as a speakeasy, and then the brothel on the top two floors.”

Drive by at night, and there’s no mistaking that this place embraces its reputation as haunted. The building is lit up purple, with ghosts in the windows and on top of the roof.

The basement is objectively creepy. It’s dark, obviously old, and has cobwebs everywhere. It was a secret hideout and meeting room for the Capones.

There’s a cistern that Decker said has brought out bad spirits every time they try to cover it up.

“The well goes down so far to the point that you can’t see the bottom,” she said. “So you can imagine that when the Capones owned this building, this was probably a really perfect place for them to throw things that they never wanted to be found again.”

Decker said she’s more amused and curious by all the paranormal happenings, rather than freaked out.

“Even though I’m a firm believer, I’m also a really big skeptic, in the sense that I try to debunk everything that happens,” she said. “So I kind of like when I have unexplainable experiences, because it proves my skepticism wrong.”

But that doesn’t mean she’s immune to fear. Also downstairs is a door to a seemingly mundane storage area. Decker said it’s put out negative vibes every time they have mediums come through.

“There was one night that I was grabbing napkins over there, and the door went like this,” she said as she shook the door. “That is something that I hope never happens to me again. That is definitely the thing that’s scared me the most since I’ve worked here.”

The door has been blocked off for years. It now has a crack in it that was not there when the door was locked. The lock itself has bent outward, as if someone was pushing on it from the inside.

At one point, the owner had someone come in with ground penetrating radar. They could see discrepancies under the concrete, but most of it was far too deep to tell what it was.

However, there were two things closer to the surface.

shakers milwaukee haunted

“He came across two full sets of human remains sort of huddled up next to each other,” Decker said. “They reported this to MPD, who said because they were so old, and they didn’t match with any open cases, they didn’t have to dig them up unless Bob really wanted them to. So they decided to let them be, and those remains are still under the concrete in that corner to this day.”

Today, there are two plastic skeletons laying on top of the spot where the bodies are down below, marking the spot.

Shaker’s owner Bob Weiss would have to request help again when they worked on the roof.

shakers milwaukee haunted

“Inside this wall, they came across a mass of charred bones,” Decker said. “The medical examiner was able to confirm this was a female in her late teens early 20s, and the remains were about 70 years old.”

Staff believe it to be Molly, who was the top girl working at the brothel. She was just 18 when she was murdered, dismembered, and her body burned in the fireplace of her room, to avoid detection by the mobsters downstairs.

shakers milwaukee haunted

Decker said the main level tends to get the most ghost activity though. One of the first stops on the tour is in the women’s restroom.

“The spirit that stays back here is a spirit named Elizabeth. And Elizabeth is actually the spirit of an 8-year-old girl,” she said. “As tragic as this is to think about, Elizabeth’s spirit is a very sweet spirit, she’s a very playful spirit. And in my experience working here, I would say she has the least fear of people. We get a lot of reports about her.”

She said people hear a little girl’s voice, or the faucet will turn on and off. There’s even a stall door Elizabeth loves to open, even when people are using the restroom.

Melanie Strickland is another tour guide.

“I think that all of my experiences here have been sort of like that, they’re very friendly,” Strickland said. “They’re very much like, ‘Oh my god, you saw me! I’m so glad! And then you told people about me!’”

That’s the real mission at Shaker’s: believe in the paranormal, or don’t. But either way, they’ve got the stories.

Halloween is a big time for Shaker's, for obvious reasons. They have more tours, special events, and even seances. For more information, click here .

Milwaukee Wisconsin

Shaker’s cigar bar, a prohibition era teen prostitute met disaster in one of al capone’s speakeasies here., death in the basement here long ago created spectral activity…, a haunting of the land under the building has caused activity., spirits of past patrons still visit, description.

Oh My! The atmosphere of this place knocks the socks off! Stepping inside this genuine, 1920s high class, authentic bar feels like we just stepped back into time during the 1920s’ and 1930s’. None of the architecture or antiques/antiquities are original. For example, the tin ceiling originally came from the torn down Plankinton Mansion.

The beautiful long bars and much of the rich, dark woodwork were all brought in to recreate an upscale bar with class and elegance from the 1920 through the 1930s’ era; making Shakers Cigar Bar more beautiful than it ever originally was in reality.

There is the front part of the first floor that is the bar area for smoking and drinking. Shaker’s Bar prides itself on its many vintage brown spirits and wines, even Absinthe, to go along with its fine offering of cigars.

Death in the Absinthe cocktails are made of Prosecco, European Absinthe and their own proprietary bitters in their own sugar cubes.

Shaker’s Cigar Bar have an outside source brew their name brand beer, such as Shakers Ghost Ale, and Shadow People Lager.

The back part of the first floor is the cafe-style, restaurant area that also has a wooden bar, lovely wooden tables, with large mirrors on the west and east wall. There is also outside dining area.

The front part of the first floor is the Cigar and Drink Bar.

Sometime after the current owner, Bob Weiss, bought this business, the whole third floor area was turned into the Shakers Penthouse, right in a hotspot of paranormal activity.

For 365.00 a night, guests could try to stay in the heart of the old brothel and hopefully experience the paranormal activity from a mischievous young female spirit who met a bad end and was entombed there. The Penthouse as of 2019 has been closed probably for remodeling.

Bob Weiss has branched out running other tours in other places. Visit their website to get more information.

This four story structure along with a row of buildings was built on land that once was a cemetery with an orchard behind it in 1894. It was designed to be a Schlitz Brewery cooperage house. This was the place where Schlitz had its huge wooden barrels built that were used for brewing beer, and then for transporting Milwaukee’s favorite form of alcohol; beer!

In 1905, this building was put back on the real estate market and was sold to be used as a distribution center, which makes sense being in the Warehouse District.

In 1922, fifteen years later, Al Capone bought the building to set up one of his Milwaukee Speakeasies. Another one of his Speakeasies was set up in Brumder Mansion. The legal business was supposedly “The ABC Soda Company,” that was pretending to be bottling innocent Soda Pop. Not! They were in reality putting imported booze from Canada, brought over Lake Michigan in Beer Barrels.

In the back was the Speakeasy run by Mob enforcers, not known for their forgiving nature. This Speakeasy was the full sports package, that included illegal booze, gambling in the basement, and the ladies of course in a large brothel located on the second and third floors.

These prostitutes were all teenage girls, being young and beautiful -sure to be irresistible to clients of the Speakeasy. Using underage girls was common in Prohibition Speakeasies in Milwaukee. As Milwaukee has long been a favorite place for conventions, this brothel was active until 1945.

Using underage girls was common in Prohibition Speakeasies in Milwaukee. As Milwaukee has long been a favorite place for conventions, this brothel was active until 1945.

Throughout the years many bar establishments were open for business at this location, providing beer and drinks to local workers who were employed by businesses in the Warehouse District.

The Shakers Cigar Bar came into being when it was bought in 1986 by Bob Weiss, who soon learned that the building was already occupied by spirits with connections to the building; Some were mischievous. Some friendly, and some were surly or grumpy when disturbed.

“When I opened up in 1986, almost out of the gate we had contractors – otherwise rational people – starting to talk about their experiences here. The staff, again almost out of the gate, had talked about things taking place,” said owner Bob Weiss. “You can talk to any of the staff and they’ve got myriad experiences that are as fresh as yesterday or last week that take place.”

When he decided to renovate the third floor room now known as the penthouse, they found a female skeleton in the wall. Uh oh!

While Weiss bought the place to create a bar with a 1930s flavor, he decided to use these spectral residents as assets, putting these spectral residents to work so to speak, while providing entertainment for these same spirits as well.

Friday and Saturday nights are hopping! Patrons partake in the bar’s “island-inspired fare, absinthe and prohibition-era cocktails and the popular and also take the entertaining ‘ghost tours’.”

“Most Fridays and Saturdays we do five or six tours,” said Weiss. “I suppose it’s easy to paint this as some sort of charlatanism, but there’s no strings attached. It’s not a Disney ride; we don’t dummy anything up, and there’s not anyone jumping out at you. It’s all authentic, historical things that can all be documented.”

HISTORY OF MANIFESTATIONS

Current Shaker Cigar Bar owner, Bob Weiss and his team did some research to find out the identities of some of the resident spirits, and the causes of their deaths.

It is a bad idea to build on top of a cemetery or graves.

Cincinnati Music Hall, OH (This beautiful building was built right on top of a mass burial ground for paupers, disease victims and the insane asylum that once stood here).

Del Campo Cemetery, CA (Buildings and roads were built over part of a large graveyard).

Shaker’s Cigar Bar, WI (When they constructed this 1894 building, a graveyard was already there, so they just built on top of it without removing the remains. The spirits from this graveyard are not very happy with the living).

Spirits who are connected to land before anything is built on it, sometimes will move into the new structure that is constructed on it.

Custer House, ND (When Custer’s House was rebuilt on the exact land where it once stood, spirits moved right in, happy as can be).

Capitol Record Building, TN (Two elderly spirits moved into this building as their beloved home once was located here).

Shakers Cigar Bar, WI (There was an apple orchard located behind the graveyard before construction of the Shaker Cigar Bar took place. A young girl fell from a tree and broke her neck and died).

Prostitution has long been in a risky profession. Women in this profession who were murdered often are restless, wanting justice and perhaps afraid to go to the other side.

The Dumas Brothel Bed and Breakfast, ND (A prostitute was brutally killed in her crib in the basement).

O’Henry’s Roadhouse Building, IL (A young prostitute was beaten to death).

Shakers Cigar Bar, WI (One 16 year old teen prostitute was brutally hacked to death by a disgruntled perhaps jealous client, who himself may have wound up in Lake Michigan wearing cement shoes. Or perhaps she may have offended a mobster with a temper issue).

Often in Speakeasies, unforgiving enforcers hired by the mob were in charge of security. Doing a serious transgression of the rules got the offender a ticket to be executed.

The Rex, Montana (A bartender who was skimming from the mob’s gambling winnings was killed by the enforcer).

Brumder Mansion, WI (An Italian gambler tried to cheat in a card game and suffered the consequences).

Shakers Cigar Bar, WI  (At least two men were killed in the basement; one over a card game).

People who enjoyed an establishment while alive, sometimes don’t let being inspirit-form get in the way of still enjoying their favorite spot as well as they can without a body.

Brothers Sebastian’s Steak House and Winery, NE (A spectral patron isn’t letting the fact that he is a spirit stop him from enjoying himself).

Hangman Tree Ice Cream Saloon, CA. (Spirits enjoy ice cream by being near the living  while they eating their selection).

Shakers Cigar Bar, WI  (Past patrons in spirit form still enjoy coming to Shakers to watch and sense the drinking, cigar smoking and perhaps the dining happening here).

Restless spirits have been known to volunteer in a job to help the living.

The Lucky Tavern, FL (A spirit of a dead gangster now is the volunteer floor manager and boy is he strict).

Brumder Mansion, WI (A spectral security crew who used to work for the Speakeasy here now  are providing their services for free; keeping out negative spirits and keeping an eye on people like Ghost Hunters).

Shakers Cigar Bar, WI (Spirits in the basement love to participate in Ghost Tours).

MANIFESTATIONS

General paranormal activity.

Owner Bob Weiss:

“Ghosts, Shadow People, full apparitions, extreme sudden cold, a fog over your head, the sensation of the building swaying, a sensation of imminent harm, voices, knocking, doors opening/locking, faucets turning on, lights coming on, going off—that’s just for starts… I have over 30 years of stories. Come take my tours.”

Spirit of young Elizabeth

She died after falling out of a tree.

Her apparition has been seen in the bathroom several times.

She gets her chuckles by knocking on the stall doors, giving the occupants a fright.

Some women in the stalls have seen a pair of a girl’s legs with 19th Century shoes on the feet.

Spirit of Murdered Prostitute

This spirit likes to enjoy the Penthouse, when she isn’t restless from being murdered.

She may try to communicate with the living who rent the room hoping for a paranormal experience.

Better be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.

She may turn the lights on and off, play with the TV, speak to them, touch them, move items, or doing anything to let the guests know that she is there. She could be lonely, wanting attention or may cry.

Many scared guests have turned in the key after spending just an hour and a half in the penthouse.

Spirits in the basement

Seem to be territorial of this space but have some fun at the expense of the living. Enjoy the parlor games, like divining rods and recorders that pick up EVPS.

Beer delivery folks and some Federal Officers have picked up on the heavy negative energy there that gives off a strong uncomfortable feeling of not being wanted.

The Federal Officers and Police Officers like to come to Shaker’s. Two Federal Officers pulled their guns when going down the steps to the basement for some reason, feeling the dense energy.

When the Beer Delivery man came to drop off the beer in the basement and collect the empty bottles in the basement, he became scared and high-tailed it back up the steps after delivering the beer.

Active Male Spirit in Basement

This male spirit was seen wearing the overalls. One female tour participant saw this spirit for a minute in the basement.

This spirit is thought to be the one who cooperates with tour guides and works the divining rods, saying yes or no.

Spirit Patrons of Shaker’s Cigar Bar

Apparently the staff have all had experiences with spirits who still are enjoying Shakers Cigar Bar.

They may enjoy watching other living people drink, smoke and eat; perhaps reliving their good times through the living’s energy.

PARANORMAL FINDINGS

The staff, owners, penthouse guests, and patrons have had experienced the full sport package of paranormal activity  throughout the years; since the late 1800s’.

Guests who have gone on Shaker’s Ghost Tours have had real experiences, sometimes for the first time, thanks to the cooperative gents in the basement area.

One site on the internet reports the Shaker’s Cigar Bar has become a “Haven for ghost hunters.”  Many groups have investigated here with promising results, though I couldn’t find anything shared with the public on line.

STILL HAUNTED?

Big Yes Indeed!

There have been boatloads of experiences reported at this location by patrons, penthouse guests and the staff and owner of this fine establishment. Special paranormal events, as well as the every week tours haven’t left participants disappointed!

Al Capone set up Speakeasies all over Milwaukee, wanting to get a piece of the profit pie from selling alcohol, sex and gaming to vice-loving people in Milwaukee who hated Prohibition, yearned to take a chance, and be sexually satisfied.

Speakeasies are notorious for being haunted because of all the pain, pleasure, and loss of life that happened in these Mob-controlled establishments.

422 South Second Street, Milwaukee, WI

Shakers Cigar Bar is located in the historic Walkers Point area that is also the Milwaukee’s Historic Warehouse District. Shakers Cigar Bar is sitting on the part of 2nd Street that runs north/south between West Virginia Street and West Florida Street.

Shaker’s Cigar Bar History

If you happen upon Shaker’s Cigar Bar during a nighttime stroll of Milwaukee, Wisconsin , it wouldn’t be difficult to discern its haunted reputation. With neon-lit ghosts in the windows, and even one on the roof, the phantoms at Shaker’s quite literally beckon passers-by into the tavern.

Shakers Cigar Bar's haunting and facade are both spectacles

Even within Shaker’s antique speakeasy interior, ghostly figures can be seen on glasses, on menu boards, and on other promotional material spread throughout the building. But, if the stories about Shaker’s are true, those aren’t the only ghosts you might see during your time there.

From phantom children to paranormal prostitutes, numerous specters supposedly lurk within Shaker’s Cigar Bar.

shakers milwaukee haunted

The building that’s now Shaker’s Cigar Bar was built in 1894 as a cooperage for the Schlitz Brewing Company. The building was a cooperage for ten years before being sold in 1905 and converted into a coal and oil warehouse.

When Prohibition became law in the late 1910s, the general public’s demand for alcohol never waned, and a market for speakeasies rose up almost overnight. In the early 1920s, the infamous Capone family purchased the former cooperage and converted it into a clandestine watering hole and brothel.

shakers milwaukee haunted

With the brothel taking up the top floor and a ‘soda bottling company’ front business running out of the second floor, the ground floor operated as a secret speakeasy for the city and its surrounding areas. In this era, the front door remained locked and the street-side windows were intentionally darkened with leftover coal dust, so the only speakeasy access was a small alleyway door.

shakers milwaukee haunted

In its speakeasy days, not everything was easy going for the 2nd street operation – at least one prostitute was believed to have been killed there. But, the speakeasy itself managed to avoid being raided throughout Prohibition and opened up as a successful, legal barroom after the alcohol ban was lifted in 1933, and the brothel continued to operate until 1946.

The pub layout of the building remained after this, and several different bar establishments passed through until Shaker’s Cigar Bar was opened in 1986.

shakers milwaukee haunted

As Milwaukee’s only cigar bar, Shaker’s attracted business fast. In its early years, Shaker’s Cigar Bar was said to be a favorite watering hole for serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer before his arrest in 1991. Throughout the 1990s, Shaker’s developed their aesthetic by collecting antique décor from around the city.

Along with finding numerous wall art and heirlooms, Shaker’s was able to refit their ceiling with the stamped tin ceiling from the now-demolished Plankinton Mansion. But soon, Shaker’s restoration projects uncovered something grisly.

shakers milwaukee haunted

During a 2001 renovation of the third-floor penthouse, a collection of bones were found under the floor. An investigation found that some of the bones were human and were over 70 years old, making it possible that these were the bones of the prostitute reportedly murdered in the 1920s.

And, not long after the bones were uncovered, stories began to spread about spiritual activity around Shaker’s. The staff at the pub had been sharing ghost stories since it opened, but the stories gained traction and spread far throughout the 2000s.

Shaker’s Cigar Bar’s Child Spirit

One of the most often encountered spirits at Shaker’s Cigar Bar is the ghost of a little girl named Elizabeth.

It is believed Elizabeth died on the property before the current building was built, after falling out of a tall apple tree. Now, her spirit is often found causing mischief around the women’s bathroom in the main bar.

Bathroom Phantoms at Shaker’s Cigar Bar

Elizabeth’s ghost can be heard whispering and giggling in the bathroom, as well as playing with one stall door in particular.

Visitors often say that this particular stall door will swing open, or be held closed, during use. Others claim that they have had the bathroom sinks turn on and off while they’re alone in the bathroom.

Shaker’s Cigar Bar’s Basement Specters

While Elizabeth’s spirit is said to be upbeat and playful, more sinister energy reportedly lingers down in the building’s basement. Workers who have gone down there often report sudden uneasy feelings that come on without explanation.

shakers milwaukee haunted

Others have claimed to see doors in the basement shake only to find dark, empty rooms on the other side. Visitors down in the basement have also reported that their hair gets pulled by invisible entities.

Additionally, a heavy, antique safe stored down there is said to be moved around by one of the basement spirits, often appearing in new or odd locations despite its size and weight.

shakers milwaukee haunted

Molly, Mysterious Mistress

Up on the top floors around the penthouse, a spirit of a murdered prostitute supposedly lingers. This spirit is known as Molly, for the woman who was recorded as murdered in the 1920s, roughly the same age as the bones found during the renovation in 2001.

shakers milwaukee haunted

While it hasn’t been confirmed the bones belonged to this murdered Molly, many believe her spirit resides up in the penthouse today. Many guests in the penthouse report seeing her apparition appear, while others say she moved objects around the apartment during the night.

Haunting Lore of Shaker’s Cigar Bar

Shaker’s Cigar Bar is as open about their spirits as they are about their liquor, promoting the haunted legends around their pub quite regularly. They host guided ghost tours of the building each week and offer the penthouse up for rentals for any paranormal enthusiasts interested in spending a night with the building’s ghosts.

In recent years, the bar’s hauntings have brought it national attention, with The Huffington Post calling it one of ‘America’s 5 Most Haunted Bars’ and Thrillist choosing Shaker’s as one of the most haunted restaurants in the nation – competing with other well known haunts like Bobby Mackey’s Music World in Wilder, Kentucky . So, whether you’re interested in smokes or spirits, you’ll surely find something worthwhile at Shaker’s Cigar Bar.

Is Shaker's Cigar Bar in Walker's Point really haunted?

Shaker's Cigar Bar Ghost Tour

It was a dark and stormy night....

....OK, not really. It was last Thursday.

But I did find myself at the haunted Shaker's Cigar Bar in Walkers Point, sipping on a whiskey, about to embark on my very first Shaker's Ghost Tour.

And before I embarked on the tour, I sat down with owner Bob Weiss and Amanda Morden to learn a little bit about the history of Shaker's and to answer the question, "Is Shaker's Cigar Bar really haunted?"

"Everybody who was an employee here would have something horrifying happen to them.. you know, just closing up and seeing a doorknob start spinning by itself with nothing behind it... having something fly off the shelf in front of their very eyes..." Morden, Shaker's Marketing Director, comments.

And these two examples? Well, they're just a few from the list of strange things going on at Shakers; ranging from bones found in the attic and morphed pictures to a ghost girl living in the bathroom and pianos playing themselves.

Shaker's Cigar Bar Ghost Tour

But why all the strange occurrences? Well, owner Bob Weiss and a team of researchers think these "haunts" could be tied to some old Milwaukee history:

they're just shuttered up beneath us."

And with the Shaker's Ghost Tour covering three floors and touching on more creepy and interesting Milwaukee history, Amanda and Bob recommend you keep your camera ready and eyes peeled during the hour-long tour.

"We're not going to try and sell you on believing in ghosts coming in the gate, but a lot of times people just come in for the historical aspect and the skeptics will be converted by the time it's done!"

Well, want to determine for yourself? Shaker's Ghost Tour is offered Wednesday-Saturdays at their location on 2nd Street in Walkers point.

Located in Milwaukee’s historic and critically-acclaimed Walker’s Point neighborhood, Shaker’s Cigar Bar has offered patrons an unique and unforgettable savoir-fare for decades. Sitting atop what was once a cemetery, this former cooperage operated as a speakeasy and brothel during Prohibition under the ownership of the legendary Capone brothers. In the 1990's, It was an occasional haunt of infamous serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer.

Proudly serving a myriad of local, national and international guests since 1986, our mission has always been to provide high-quality fare, libations, and cigars for those that wish to combine a fun and enjoyable ambiance with authentic worldly cooking, exquisite service, and an unparalleled list of vintage spirits and wine into one extraordinary experience.

Whether it be our live band performances, one of our 5 quirky, guided historic and ghost tours, or an overnight stay in our brothel-turned-Airbnb, we strive to be so much more than just a “bar”, and see to it that each of our guests is captivated and enthralled the moment they walk through our doors.

Shakers: a haunted history.

Ahh good old Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A wonderful place known for a variety of things. Such as (but not limited to); beer, cheese, sports teams like the Bucks and the Brewers, and so much more. Milwaukee is a place with a rich culture and a long history dating back to its founding in 1846. With a history that long, there are bound to be a lot of feel-good stories, but an equal amount of tragedy; and where tragedy goes the supernatural seems to follow. Not unlike some cities with a reputation for the paranormal, such as New Orleans, Key West, and Salem(just to name a few), Milwaukee has quite a few spirits. From The Rave to the Pabst Mansion, and even hotels such as The Hilton and The Pfister, the paranormal is alive and well in Milwaukee. Another place with a long history of spiritual activity, that I feel doesn't get brought up as much as those other places, is Shaker's Cigar Bar.

Located in Milwaukee's historic Third Ward , Shaker's has been a staple of Milwaukee for decades. With the building itself having a history dating back as far as 1894, one can correctly assume a great deal of events have happened between its walls. Before the building was constructed, the surrounding land was used as a cemetery for a number of indigenous natives of Milwaukee. However, that changed in 1894 when the land was commissioned to be the site for a Schlitz Brewery cooperage house. Fast forward a few decades, after being transferred from owner to owner, and the building came into the ownership of The Capone brothers Al and Frank in 1922. The building was used as a speakeasy during the Prohibition Era during the early to mid 20s under their ownership, with a business front posing as a soda bottling place. The building indeed has a long history that is worth an article in and of itself, however I'm here to specifically talk about the paranormal occurrences and the background regarding them. So let's dive in and get a better understanding of what draws people into this eerie little slice of Milwaukee history.

Shaker's is known for 3 things: cigars, booze, and ghosts. Each one of those components is enough to pique the interest of the average person, but when you combine them, you get a whole different experience. Having been featured in multiple lists of the most haunted places in the whole state, as well as an episode of Netflix's Dark Tourist, one can only imagine what it's like being there. Fairly recently, I actually had the opportunity to go to Shaker's and see for myself. I was interested in all of the stories I had heard surrounding the place, and the tours they do there. They have a multitude of tours that you can book tickets for on their official website, where they give you some backstory regarding the place and its history. They even have a tour called the 'Cream City Cannibal Tour' that is based on notorious serial killer and Milwaukee native Jeff Dahmer(who was a patron of the bar several times). I happened to take one of the tours dedicated to the more supernatural side of the bar's history, as well as interview the owner Bob Weiss. The information I received during my time there was amazing, if not a little macabre. There are quite a few spirits that reside in Shaker's, some with no known backstory at all. However, there are some who have become quite notable within the establishment. Those ones have been named due to not only their frequent activity but their backstories and origins being revealed through means such as mediumship.

One of the more well known spirits within the bar is that of a little girl named Elizabeth. Elizabeth is known to haunt the first floor women's bathroom. Visitors and patrons have reported to have heard a little girl laughing just outside the stall and sometimes coming from just outside the bathroom door. Other reports of patrons feeling as though they're being watched and hearing the pitter patter of a child's footsteps are just as frequent. Elizabeth is also a bit mischievous, often moving items around, specifically items on the counter near the entrance to the women's bathroom, and the aforementioned interactions with guests. The background of Elizabeth is a tragic story that demonstrates just how easily the sparks of youth can be snuffed out entirely too soon due to fatal accident. The story predates the building itself, taking place back when the lot was nothing but natural earth, most likely during its time as a cemetery. The story goes that Elizabeth was playing in the area and just being a kid. She decided to climb a tree and unfortunately she fell out of said tree and broke her neck. Her story is a tragic reminder of how easily innocent life can be cut short.

Then there is the story of Molly Brennan, which is arguably the tale that fascinates patrons the most. Molly was a 16 yr Irish lass who worked as a prostitute in the 20s. In 2001, the bar underwent some renovations. Horrifyingly, a pile of bones was found underneath some floorboards at the at the back of the penthouse. A medical examiner took the bones to research them and discover their origins. It was discovered that about half of the bones were animal and the other half were human remains. Many believe these are remains of Molly Brennan. The medical examiner also concluded that the bones were at least 70 years old, which would put them somewhere around the 1920s. Meaning that the remains could indeed be those of Molly. Molly's story is one of love, disappointment, betrayal, and tragedy. Back during the later years of the Prohibition Era, when the bar was still under the umbrella of the Capone empire, the main floor was used for the business front/speakeasy as I've previously mentioned. However, the top two floors each provided customers with an opportunity to have even more fun. The building is comprised of three floors, not including the basement, and while the main hub of activity was the ground floor, the top 2 floors were used a brothel. The second floor was used as a starting point of sorts. That's where all of the "fluffers" are located. A fluffer's job was to basically get the man ready (if you know what I mean) to go up to the top floor. That's where the "A" girls were, and where the real action happened. The "A" girls were the top money makers for the Capones. Molly Brennan was one of those girls.

One night, Molly received a visit from an ex named Patrick, who pleaded with her to leave her life of selling herself for money behind and to run off with him. Molly seemed to be in agreement but the fear of abandoning her employers and facing retaliation dissuaded her from the idea. Besides, she liked the life of luxury she was afforded due to her occupation. Patrick never did give up on her though and continued to press the notion. Some time later, when Patrick had came to visit her, he found her in bed with his father of all people. Now to understand this next part, I must mention that to get from the main floor to the upper floors, one would have to go up a stairwell. That was the only way to get up there, and it was behind a makeshift gate with a bouncer guarding it. Now the bouncer on duty that night was a man named Sam. Here's where the story gets a bit convoluted. Later that night, Molly, Patrick, and Sam were found dead. Nobody knows exactly what happened, but the general consensus is that Patrick murdered Molly out of rage from the betrayal of the woman he loves sleeping with his father. That part is the most agreed upon cause of Molly's death, however, nobody knows for sure what happened to Patrick and Sam. Some believed Patrick killed Sam and then himself, some think it was the other way around, and others believe they killed each other. We may never know, but what we do know is that three lives were tragically cut short that night. And to this day, it is believed that not only does the spirit of Molly Brennan haunt the penthouse, but also the souls of both Sam and Patrick.

All in all, Shakers has become quite a place for thrill seekers and paranormal enthusiasts. Those who want an extra thrill can even stay the night in the penthouse. The penthouse is registered on Airbnb. However, those who attempt the stay the night should be well aware of what they're getting themselves into. According to the owner Bob Weiss, only about 10% of people actually manage to stay the whole night. There have been many different reports of all types of spooky activity. Voices, bumps, hearing what sounds like a woman's heels walking around in the wee hours of the night as well as the feeling as if someone is sitting next to you on the bed(some have even claimed to see an imprint) are some of the most reported experiences. So my advice to any who are interested is to proceed at your own discretion.

Even if you don't go to Shaker's for the supernatural aspect, it's still a fun place overall. The food is amazing, the service is incredible, the staff are all so nice and polite, and the retro vibe that one gets while in there is so authentic that you feel as though you've went back in time. I could sit here and wax poetic about the place for days, but I think just listening to a description doesn't fully do it justice. I highly suggest going there to experience it for yourself and to truly immerse yourself in the atmosphere. If you do, tell Mr. Weiss that Juwan sent you.

What's your stance on ghosts? Are they real or not? Let me know in the comments. I sincerely hope you all enjoyed reading this. Until next time, my friends.

Haunted Bar Ghost Tour

My husband and I went on this tour for the first time last night (Thursday) - 8:30 p.m. I expected it to be really cheesy and lame but it was complete opposite! I'm a believer in the supernatural (as I've had my own experiences and my husband is as far from believing that anyone can get). How convenient that he's never around when something happens! Anyways, we both enjoyed ourselves equally. Never a dull moment - fun, interesting, informative and yes, creepy too. Our Tour Guide, David was fantastic. They are starting up more tours too - different kinds in the Milwaukee area. Their info is on Facebook under Ghost Tales. Spoiler alert, there are also pics on that site of the tour so don't look at them if you want to be completely surprised. The tour was over an hour and you can drink cocktails during as well. There is some up and down stairs, misc. steps and some ducking during the tour so keep that in mind in you have trouble getting around. Pints of beer was 6.00 - reasonably priced for the city. We had a Groupon and a drink was included with our price. The building is beautiful with a ton of history. I would highly recommend this tour for a fun night out on the town! The only somewhat bad side to this was that there was no air conditioning in the building and during the tour, it can get very hot so dress cool! It was beautiful outside, approx 72 degrees.

Bought the haunted bar tour on Groupon. It was fun and quirky. old time prohibition bar that still lets patrons smoke cigars. Neat place to check out.

The rating is for the overnight stay at Shakers. The bar is very cool, food was awesome and the staff was friendly and entertaining, however, I do not recommend staying overnight. Stating that it is not a hotel room on the website is an understatement. The room was dusty and dirty and we didn’t even want to use the bathroom or the bed. We slept with our clothes on. Our friends stayed overnight the next night and the bed had the same sheets. There is no air conditioning so we had to open the windows and, besides the numerous cigarette butts on the window sill, we could not sleep because of the extremely loud music and people on the street from the club next door that did not close until 4 am. Now we know why so many people leave suddenly -- if we did not already know that most of the hotels in the vicinity were already booked, we would have left immediately, too. The fact that we did not see or hear any ghosts did not bother us at all, it was the lack of cleanliness and the smelly bathroom. I can understand trying to keep it looking authentic, but at least keep it clean and fix the bathroom (particularly for the price they charge). I would not beware of the ghosts, but of being ripped off.

If your a notalgia buff, check out this old time cigar bar. You'll swear your back in prohibition. Complete with high tin plated ceilings and a very friendly proprietor (Bob). The staff is knowledgable and friendly and the drink menu reads like a 1920's playbill.

The most interesting part of the tour was the Milwaukee history. Otherwise not really worth it. Bar staff was wonderful but drinks were way over priced, and awful. Didn't finish any of my drinks including my warm beer. They need to work on the tour and you could totally leave the nasty basement out all together. Great staff tho.

West Allis haunted house nightmare; city addresses complaint

West allis haunted house nightmare.

Toil and trouble. It could be the nail in the coffin for a West Allis haunted house.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. - Toil and trouble. It could be the nail in the coffin for a West Allis haunted house.

A maze of terrifying twists and turns sits at the corner of 98th and Montana in West Allis .

From decorating the yard in 2012, to now a homemade house of horrors, you will find the Novak Manor.

"It’s become a local staple for people," said Patty Novak.

More than 9,000 people come through Adam and Patty Novak's yard every year.

In January, they filed a permit with West Allis and it was granted. On Monday, the nightmare came to their front door.

"We got news yesterday that we are in violation of a code of allowing people to come on to our property," Patty Novak said.

This week, the mayor's office got a complaint about people being in the yard. They did not want to go on camera.

Earlier this year, the city said the permit approved people to view the display. However, since the Novak's home is residentially zoned, the city said they cannot entertain people in their yard.

"We thought we were doing everything correctly," Patty Novak said.

The Novaks said it is more than just decorations. They donate everything to the Bikers Advocating Child Safety to support child abuse survivors.

The Halloween Headquarters was created to give you the upper hand on learning trick or treat times, where haunted houses can be found, and more.

"It’s devastating there’s no words that can describe," said Adam Novak.

The city said they will not shut it down this year. But it is the future that haunts the Novaks.

"It’s so hard to know we are taking away kids first haunt experiences," Patty Novak said.

City of West Allis statement

"In January 2023, Novak Manor applied for, and the City granted, a Special Event Permit for Novak Manor to operate a Charity Haunt, allowing people to view the Halloween display from the public right-of-way.

"On October 15, 2023, the City of West Allis received a complaint regarding the impact of Novak Manor’s home haunt, calling attention to the fact that Novak Manor was allowing visitors to enter the property and structure.

"The special event permit that was granted, however, is to allow visitors to block the right-of-way; it does not allow visitors to enter the property or enter structures on the property due to the residential zoning code.

"The property owners have been informed about what the special event permit and zoning regulations allow and exclude. In an effort to balance community support for this event with the code requirements, the City will not take enforcement action for the remainder of the 2023 event season.

"The City of West Allis appreciates all the work the Novak family has done within the community, raising funds for charity while providing low-cost fall entertainment for the residents of West Allis and beyond.

"After the season completes, the City looks forward to continuing to work with the property owners to find ways to keep Novak Manor in the community for years to come."

Florida tops for ghost sightings with haunted restaurants, I-4 Dead Zone, Disney World ghost

Florida ranked 3rd most spooky state in the u.s..

shakers milwaukee haunted

There are a surprising number of haunted trees in Florida, but the Devil Tree in Oak Hammock Park in Port St. Lucie may be one of the worst.

  • At Ashley's Restaurant in Rockledge, people have reported flickering lights, salt shakers dropping and dishes breaking, and people getting pushed on the stairs.
  • Ghostly sightings of soldiers and Native Americans have been reported, as well as glowing orbs inside Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine.

Ready to do some ghost-hunting? You're in the right spooky state.

According to casino review site BonusFinder , Florida is the third-most-haunted state in the U.S. based on a review of the number of gravesites, "comprehensive ghost sightings data" and paranormal phenomena.

Florida has fewer burial grounds than No. 2, Maine (we have 3,463 cemeteries compared to their 4,120, the report says) but we have the second-highest number of ghost sightings (1,785) and haunted locations (601).

The scariest place in the U.S.? Not even close. It's Texas , with 13,710 cemeteries, 7,517 ghost sightings and 925 haunted locations. But we're right behind them with spooky lighthouses and restaurants, a cursed highway, theaters with spectral patrons, haunted trees, and even lingering ghosts in the Happiest Place on Earth. It might, in fact, be easier to list the Florida towns and cities that don't have a local ghost story.

Here are some of the most haunted places in the Sunshine State:

Haunted St. Augustine Lighthouse and, really, most of St. Augustine, Florida

Are there any places in St. Augustine that aren't haunted? There must be a tour for that somewhere.

The country's oldest city ranked as the eighth-spookiest city in the U.S. this year, according to travel site Viator, based on the number of spine-chilling tours and experiences available for booking through the company. Ghosthunting has become a big part of the local economy.

There's The Old Jail , which contained — and hanged — some of the city’s most violent criminals from 1891 to 1953 and has since been the site of numerous strange phenomena, reports of guests being touched or grabbed, and sightings of apparitions in period clothing.

The Old Mansion on Joiner Street (now a bed-and-breakfast ) reportedly holds the spiritual remains of the wife of a missing Civil War colonel who haunts the place waiting for his return. Residents report seeing the ghost of Elizabeth, the daughter of the gatekeeper in the early 1800s, who died of Typhoid Fever, hanging around the city gates at the north end of George Street. A World War II and Korean War veteran dead of suicide haunts the Plaza de la Constitucion. A 5-year-old boy who fell from a tree in a local cemetery is buried under it and has been spotted playing in the branches. Henry Flagler is said to roam the halls of Flagler College. And there are many, many more.

But people from around the world have come specifically to be creeped out by the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, which the SyFy channel show "Ghost Hunters" called "the Mona Lisa of paranormal sites." Shadowy figures on the stairs. Furniture moving around. Unexplained footsteps. Sightings of small girls playing on the grounds. A disembodied female voice calling for help.

Some of this, at least, is based on true and tragic tales. During the construction of the tower on July 10, 1873, the foreman's children were playing on a supply cart that was trapped. The two oldest children, Eliza and Mary Pittee, and a 10-year-old Black child died, local tour guide Matt Hladik told the St. Augustine Record in 2014. And on Dec. 5, 1859, Light Keeper Joseph Andreu was painting the tower when he fell 60 feet to his death. Visitors also have seen a "man in blue," supposedly a sailor who hanged himself there, in the basement of the former lighthouse keeper’s duplex.

'We don't have ghosts on payroll": Halloween is go time for haunted tours in St. Augustine

The Florida Theater in Jacksonville has a ghost in residence

Joseph Hilton, an organist who worked in the Florida Theater in downtown Jacksonville in the 1920s and who later died from suicide, reportedly haunts the balcony and may have been caught on film by paranormal investigative TV show "Local Haunts" in 2010.

Whether Hilton is attending the theater, the venue wants to stay on his good side. When the seats were replaced in 2020, his favorite seats Balcony E1 and E2 were instead refurbished and put back in .

"We did not want our ghost to be homeless if his or her seat went away permanently," said Numa Saisselin, president of the theater. "They are the only two seats being restored. Every other seat is being replaced. Hopefully, the ghost does not mind being without his or her seat for a few weeks."

Jacksonville is known for a variety of haunts, including the King House built on top of a Spanish graveyard, silent film star Fatty Arbuckle haunting the Casa Marina Hotel and Restaurant, a burlesque dancer occupying her "haunted dive bar" Ginger's Place , and even the unexplained shadows caught on camera at the Jacksonville Beach lifeguard station , which has to be the most Florida supernatural phenomena, ever.

(Like haunted theaters? Check out the Tampa Theater , which boasts the ghost of ticket-taker Robert Lanier found dead in the 1950s in mysterious circumstances, and projectionist Foster “Fink” Finley who continues to roam the balcony.)

Believe in ghosts? Here are the haunted places around Jacksonville and where you might find them

I-4 may actually be out to kill you, in 'I-4 dead zone'

In a quarter-mile stretch of Interstate 4 roughly halfway between Orlando and Daytona Beach leading onto the St. Johns River Bridge over Lake Monroe, commuters have reported a sudden drop in phone reception, static on their stories and CB radios, and the occasional apparition, zigzagging ball of light, phantom trucker or ghostly hitchhiker. And a disturbing number of car crashes and fatalities.

Welcome to the I-4 Dead Zone .

The legend began the day that section of the highway opened in 1963 when a shrimp boat crashed at a certain spot, killing the driver. On that very location, underneath the concrete just before the highway stretches across the lake, are the remains of four German immigrants who perished in the yellow fever epidemic in Florida in 1887 and were buried unshriven, according to Bennett Lloyd, coordinator at the Museum of Seminole County History. The state was supposed to move them but paved over them instead.

A high percentage of traffic fatalities and inexplicable phenomena have been reported there ever since, including unexpected visits by Hurricane Donna (1960, on the day they first dumped dirt on the spot) and Hurricane Charley (2004, when construction was going on near the graves), according to Charlie Carlson, author of "Weird Florida" and grandson of one of the original site's owners.

Is Disney World in Orlando, Florida, haunted? It's a small afterlife after all

Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Orlando is such an amazing experience, some guests (and workers) never want to leave.

The ghost of a dead employee has haunted the Pirates of the Caribbean ride for decades, cast members used to tell the guests. George gets cranky if he is disrespected and will shut the ride down with mysterious breakdowns. Other ghost stories from the cast members include:

  • A guest who died on Space Mountain in the 1970s will apparently grab empty seats to ride again.
  • A 4-year-old boy who died on the Mission Space ride at Epcot in 2005 seemingly manifests through cold spots and shuttle doors closing at odd times.
  • A "bellhop" cast member who reportedly died of an attack in the Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios now haunts the ride, causing flickering lights and ghostly appearances in the Platform D elevator.

But the creepiest thing might be the sheer amount of human ashes that guests try to sneak in and spread at the Haunted Mansion to honor a loved one's last, quirky wishes.

“The Haunted Mansion probably has so much human ashes in it that it’s not even funny,” one Disneyland custodian told the  Wall Street Journal .

Ghosts, ashes and a bride's ring: 5 creepy haunted legends and rumors from Disney World

The Devil Tree in Port St. Lucie, Florida, was the site of gruesome murders

In 1977, a hog hunter stumbled over bones and teeth belonging to two missing Iowa teen girls , Barbara Ann Wilcox and Colette Goodenough, who had been missing since 1973. They had apparently been hung from the tree and then hacked apart, a scene reminiscent of two other sets of murdered teens for which former Martin County deputy Gerard Schaefer already had been sentenced to death. Circuit Judge C.P. Trowbridge, who oversaw the double murder trial, said years later there had been "evidence that (Schaefer) was responsible for about 30 other girls' deaths across the country."

Since then, Charlie Carlson has reported, there have been so many reports of "hooded satanic worshippers dancing around the tree" that a priest was brought in to perform an exorcism in 1992. There have been reports of people hearing screams from the tree and from the women's bathroom in the park, and legends say any axes brought near the tree go dull and chainsaws refuse to work.

Gator Club in Sarasota, Florida, may have undead employees

Next time you get served a drink in Sarasota's Gator Club , make sure it's from a living person.

The bar , housed in a two-story brick building from 1913, has at times also offered services outside the law such as bootleg whiskey during Prohibition, illegal gambling and even an upstairs brothel. But Larry Siegel, who bought the place in 2005, has reported lights and a TV getting turned back on, a cash register ringing up dozens of drinks all by itself, and cold breezes where there shouldn't be any.

“There was this cold air, like a fan," Siegel said in 2013, before the bar's 100th anniversary, "that just blew past me.”

Giving up the ghosts: Sarasota locales that might go bump in the night

Victim of horrific 1934 murder said to haunt Ashley's Restaurant in Rockledge

At Ashley's Restaurant in Rockledge, visitors and staff have reported flickering lights, alarms going off, salt shakers dropping and dishes breaking, and people getting pushed on the stairs.

As the story goes, on Nov. 21, 1934, the body of 19-year-old Ethel Allen was found on the bank of the Indian River in Eau Gallie, mutilated and burned with a crushed skull and a slit throat. Ethel was last seen at Jack's Tavern, the business that occupied the building before it eventually became Ashley's Restaurant.

Visitors have reported seeing apparitions of a young woman in the bathroom mirror, and one manager claimed to have seen the feet of a woman wearing 1930s-era shoes in a neighboring stall, which was found to be empty.

Stabbed in London, this ghost came with the pub in Delray Beach, Florida

Bertha Starkey , a 19th-century London woman reportedly murdered by her husband for infidelity, was known to haunt a British pub for over 125 years when it was torn down.

But when the Blue Anchor Pub's facade and wood interior were shipped overseas to Delray Beach, her howling soul came with it, according to the owners.

"To this day in Delray Beach, footsteps can be heard at night after closing, candles light and extinguish themselves along with banging pots and pans and the sound of Bertha wailing," the pub's site says .

Be afraid. Be very afraid: The most haunted places around Palm Beach County

Koreshan State Park in Florida once held religious sect, now local legends

Almost 130 years ago, doctor Cyrus R. Teed moved to Estero, called himself Koresh (the Hebrew version of Cyrus), and founded a religious sect of about 200 followers he relocated from Chicago to build a "New Jerusalem." Koreshans believed in a hollow Earth, immortality through reincarnation, and their messiah, i.e. Teed. The Koreshans established their own civilization here , complete with nearly 30 businesses including a sawmill, publishing house, machine shop, general store, art gallery, a symphony and more.

After Teed died in 1908, his followers left his body in a bathtub for five days so he could resurrect, but instead, according to journalist and author Lyn Millner , after three weeks the health department forced them to dispose of the body. Teed's mortal remains were placed in a mausoleum on the beach where they were carefully watched in case of resurrection until a hurricane washed it out to sea 13 years later.

The last four members of the sect deeded 305 acres of their land to the state in 1961, mostly the area containing the remaining buildings, according to the state website , as well as "landscaped grounds that include unique ornamental exotic vegetation from throughout the world." Locals say the spirits of the Koreshans are still watching over the land at Koreshan State Historic Site, and there have been reports of unexplained voices in the buildings, floating orbs of light, and shadows of people on the trails, according to the regular ghost tours .

Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida, stalked by ghostly captives, slain lovers

One more from St. Augustine. The 17th-century fortress Castillo de San Marcos, constructed by the Spanish in 1672, was used by the Spanish and British, and Americans used it to imprison Native Americans, including the Seminole war chief Osceola, according to the national park website .

Ghostly sightings of soldiers and Native Americans have been reported, as well as glowing orbs inside. But the best known, according to the Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures," is that of Delores Marti, wife of Spanish Col. Garcia Marti, who reportedly suspected her of cheating on him with Capt. Manuel Abela in 1784 during the second Spanish occupation. Delories Marti and Abela mysteriously disappeared, and since then a forlorn female in a white dress has been seen atop the walls.

West Allis plans to shut down the popular haunted house Novak Manor next year.

The city said the house at 98th Street and Montana Avenue has a special event permit allowing people to block the right of way and view the house from the street.

The permit does not allow Novak Manor to have visitors inside the house.

According to the Novak Manor website, all tour proceeds go to the group Bikers Advocating Child Safety.

The city said they got a complaint about the house Sunday.

"Now, we understand this holiday isn't for everybody, and that's OK. But we do truly try to make sure that we are as respectful as possible to our neighbors," Patty Novak said.

The city said it will work with the owners of Novak Manor to keep it in the community.

The city of West Allis released the following statement:

"In January 2023, Novak Manor applied for, and the City granted, a Special Event Permit for Novak Manor to operate a Charity Haunt, allowing people to view the Halloween display from the public right-of-way.

On October 15, 2023, the City of West Allis received a complaint regarding the impact of Novak Manor’s home haunt, calling attention to the fact that Novak Manor was allowing visitors to enter the property and structure.

The special event permit that was granted, however, is to allow visitors to block the right-of-way; it does not allow visitors to enter the property or enter structures on the property due to the residential zoning code.

The property owners have been informed about what the special event permit and zoning regulations allow and exclude. In an effort to balance community support for this event with the code requirements, the City will not take enforcement action for the remainder of the 2023 event season.

The City of West Allis appreciates all the work the Novak family has done within the community, raising funds for charity while providing low-cost fall entertainment for the residents of West Allis and beyond.

After the season completes, the City looks forward to continuing to work with the property owners to find ways to keep Novak Manor in the community for years to come."

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
