Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3: next episode, trailer, cast and everything we know

Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is underway and the only thing calm may be the water.

Chef Marcos cooking on Below Deck Sailing Yacht

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 is here, and Captain Glenn Shephard is back to balancing the demands of vacationers with the drama of his crew. And let’s face it, in most instances, the baggage of his crew far outweighs the luggage of any guest.

This season takes the show to the waters surrounding Menorca, Spain. The breathtaking views only serve as momentary interruptions to the hookups, the confrontations, the injuries and the occasional emergencies of the new season. Given the interesting dynamic that already exists between returning crew members like Daisy Kelliher and Gary King, the addition of a new chef, new stews and new deckhands make sailing anything but smooth aboard the Parsifal III.

Here’s what we know about Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3.

When is the next Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 episode?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 premiered on Monday, February 21. New episodes continue to air on Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo TV in the US. Episodes are available the next day in the UK on Hayu , which can be included as part of a Prime Video subscription. Additionally, Peacock via Sky TV or NOW TV also offers next-day streaming for Bravo content.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is back with the first part of the season 3 reunion airing on Monday, June 27, at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. After a tumultuous season full of drama and love triangles, it will be interesting to see what the cast has to say to one another when they face off.

By the way, have you read why fans are grossed out by Ashely's grilled cheese feast ?

What happens on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew having drinks

Viewers of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 will recall that the last time the crew was together, first mate Gary King was involved in a messy love triangle with deckhand Sydney Zaruba and stew Alli Dore. While fans of the show won’t have to worry about seeing King in a continuation of that love saga, based on the trailer, King will again find himself entangled in a romance. It appears he entangles with chief stew Daisy Kelliher of all people. While the two appeared to make amends at last year’s reunion after feuding all season 2, no one expected the two to be locking lips.

Additionally, it should be noted that Below Deck Sailing Yacht is done with love triangles, as Bravo TV teases this season fans can expect to see a “twisted love pentagon.” More may not turn out to be merrier in this case.

Fans of the show will also remember that Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew were involved in an accident during season 2 . Season 3 shows how Captain Shephard has been able to bounce back from the incident while also trying to avoid another potentially disastrous event.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 cast

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 includes returning crew Captain Glenn Shephard, chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King. These members are joined by chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, as well as deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 looks like it’s not light on the conflict or surprised hookups.

For those needing more details about that kiss between Gary and Daisy, hear from Daisy herself as she provides a little more insight on their involvement.

How to watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3

New episodes of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 air live on Mondays in the US. With a subscription, episodes can also be streamed live via Fubo TV , Hulu with Live TV , Sling TV and YouTube TV . Additionally, Peacock provides next-day streaming for its subscribers. In order to access episodes, would-be viewers will have to subscribe to Peacock Premium , which offers either a $4.99 ad-supported or $9.99 ad-free plan.

Viewers in the UK can watch episodes the day after they air using Hayu .

Who's leaving Below Deck Sailing Yacht?

It looks like everyone's favorite Below Deck chef is calling it quits. Marcos Spaziani recently took to Twitter to announce that he has no plans on returning for another season.

I want to thank everyone for the big support and great comments. I never thought in my life I would bring so much inspiration to so many ppl and for that I’m very grateful and also blessed! But I can’t go back to the next season. #BelowDeckSailingYacht #belowdecksailing pic.twitter.com/CLTmtLV7yP June 1, 2022

The 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Season 3 Trailer Is Here: Watch!

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Glen Shepard

Season 3 of the series is returning Monday, Feb. 21.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is back for season 3 with new and familiar faces and sea-level chaos! In the latest trailer for the hit Bravo series, Captain Glenn Shephard is back on the epic Parsifal III,  sailing across the beautiful waters in Menorca, Spain.

“When you go sailing, you never really know what the conditions are going to be like,” Captain Shephard says at the beginning of the trailer before the preview of the chaos aboard the luxury yacht plays out.

Returning this season are chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King. Joining the vets on board the yacht are a few new faces, chef Marcos Spaziani, second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti, and deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

From the looks of it, this season is set to bring all the action and drama as the crew manages to navigate various hookups (and makeout sessions), power struggles, injuries and a storm that looks like it could take the boat underwater.

In the new trailer, we see that Tom, who isn’t ashamed of showing off his self-proclaimed “dad bod,” is bringing the body shots, and Gabriela, who braves the elements and topples over in the hot tub, is bringing the fun. Meanwhile, Gary is bringing the romance and a “striptease,” and Daisy is all about a fabulous party -- all while managing the expectations of the guests who board the yacht.

However, the season isn’t going to be without some serious drama as the yacht faces strong winds and a storm that could possibly send it underwater, and Chef Marcos gets a severe head injury that could leave the crew without a head chef.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 premieres Monday, Feb. 21 at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.

EXCLUSIVE: Below Deck season 6 yacht revealed

By Katia Damborsky   4 September 2018

For the sixth season of Bravo’s Below Deck, the 56m/184ft motor yacht 'My Seanna ’ from Delta Marine will be playing host.

Premiering on 2 October, Below Deck is coming back to our screens and the superyacht of the season can be exclusively unveiled as My Seanna  - a motor yacht renowned for her opulent interiors, chic deck areas and dedicated entertainment and leisure facilities.

At 56 metres, the Delta Marine build is the largest yacht ever to feature on the show and the first in Below Deck's six seasons to use her real name as opposed to a pseudonym. This doesn't include the spin-off Below Deck Mediterranean, which follows the lives of superyacht crews during the summer charter season.

Below Deck, on the other hand, is filmed during the winter cruising season. Usually, it is set in the popular cruising grounds of the Caribbean but, this year, in another first for the show, it takes place in Tahiti - an idyllic island in French Polynesia which offers an alternative destination for winter charters.

The ocean is calling... 🌊 and @Captain_Lee_Rosbach is picking up with an all-new season of #BelowDeck Tuesday, October 2 @ 9/8c. Link in bio for a first look! A post shared by BravoTV (@bravotv) on Aug 22, 2018 at 8:24am PDT

Filming of the hit reality TV show began in Tahiti in early February and now a recently released trailer included below provides a glimpse into what on-deck antics viewers can expect from the crew and guests alike.

In this season, fan favourite Captain Lee Rosbach returns to the helm accompanied by Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain. But apart from these two familiar faces, the rest of the crew are new to the show.

Held by Below Deck veteran Ben Robinson for the first four seasons, the chef position will be filled by Adrian Martin, an experienced superyacht chef who has won awards at some of the industry's top culinary contests.

Following on from his predecessor Ben Robinson, Adrian Martin is expected to cause plenty of drama in the galley

Kate from Below Deck on motor yacht My Seanna

Following on from his predecessor, Adrian will serve up delicious dishes as well as plenty of drama when his diva reputation surfaces. Likewise, tension is created when Kate forms an exclusive clique with her first ever male stew - Josiah Carter - leaving fellow stewardess Caroline Bedol feeling left out.

Also anticipated to provide compulsive viewing is the dynamics between bosun Chandler Brooks, who begins to crack under the pressure, and his deckhands Ross Inia and Ashton Pienaar. Female deckhand Rhylee Gerber will be making her debut on the show too.

The show will also provide an insight into what a French Polynesia yacht charter is like. Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Gary King breaks silence after BravoCon removal

Gary King on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4

Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Gary King has broken his silence after he was removed from BravoCon amid some serious allegations.

In August, news broke that a Below Deck Sailing Yacht production team member had accused Gary of sexual misconduct.

A month later, Gary was taken off the list of yachties attending BravoCon , an event he was a fan favorite at last year.

BravoCon takes place this weekend, with Bravoleberties taking on Las Vegas.

Ahead of the three-day event, Gary shared his first message in months that made quite a statement.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Gary King breaks silence after BravoCon removal

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Gary shared a post of him posing in a field of Daisies in South Africa. Gary has a serious look that’s a vast difference from how Below Deck Sailing Yacht viewers see him on the show.

“It’s sad that people will do anything in their power to bring you down. It’s not about how you fall but how you get up. Luckily for me the fall was into a sea of daisies 🌼,” was the caption on Gary’s IG post.

It wasn’t just the caption that alluded to the allegations against Gary. The hashtag spoke volumes about how Gary feels about being dismissed from BravoCon and the claims made.

Gary called the allegations against him a lie, told people not to believe everything they see, and called out the media. He also declared he wouldn’t do what he was being accused of doing and that Gary continues to hold his head up high.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht star also used hashtags for the show and shared he’s moving on. Gary didn’t get into specifics of what that means.

However, there’s no question that the timing of his first social media message in months was to address his BravoCon absence.

Gary has earned support from some of his costars since the allegations broke.

The comments section of Gary’s post showed not all of his former crew members had abandoned him during this time.

Captain Glenn Shephard became very close with Gary after they filmed Season 2 of the sailing show. They work together on Parsifal III even when the cameras aren’t rolling.

The captain was one of the first to pop up with emojis that kicked off an exchange of bro love between him and Gary.

Season 4 chef Ileisha Dell also showed her love for Gary as the two had a little back-and-forth to reveal they are still friends.

Chef Ileisha replies to Gary's message

Gary King from Below Deck Sailing Yacht won’t be at BravoCon and has addressed his absence the day before the big fan event.

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Glenn, Colin MacRae, and Daisy Kelliher will all be at BravoCon. No doubt, the three of them will be asked about Gary at some point.

Why two crew members were fired from ‘Below Deck Down Under’

Producers for the Bravo reality show and members of the crew intervened in a recent episode that showed incidences of sexual misconduct

below deck yacht news

Two crew members on “Below Deck Down Under” were fired from the superyacht featured on the Bravo show due to sexual misconduct that forced the show’s production team and the boat’s captain to intervene.

Within several minutes of the show’s Aug. 7 episode, producers thwarted boatswain Luke Jones and second steward Laura Bileskalne after they entered other crew member’s bedrooms without their consent and attempted to make sexual advances on their shipmates.

“Our cabin is our safety zone,” the captain of the superyacht, Jason Chambers, told his crew. “That door is our boundary. That door is not to be opened unless it’s consensual.”

Though Chambers said the firings happened over a year ago, footage of the incidents aired for the first time this week, which has brought a lot of attention to the “Below Deck” show from fans who were alarmed by the incidents but impressed by the response of the production crew and other crew members on the boat.

What is ‘Below Deck Down Under?’

The show — which debuted in 2022 — is a spinoff of the reality program “Below Deck,” which has been around for more than a decade. This season focuses on the crew aboard the Northern Sun, a superyacht that hosts guests sailing through the Whitsunday Islands in Australia.

Like other “Below Deck” programs, the episodes show the high-stress and dramatic situations of the crew, who have to contend with wealthy charter guests and the politics on the boat itself. Romantic relationships frequently pop up on the show as the young and attractive crew members spend a lengthy amount of time together away from their family and friends.

The show’s latest episode featured two incidents that led to a pair of firings.

What happened during this episode?

The first incident began after third stew Margot Sisson told chief steward Aesha Scott that she didn’t want to be bothered after a night of drinking. “All I want is water and bed. No Luke,” she said, referencing Jones.

Soon Jones, who was naked at the time, was seen as he attempted to enter Sisson’s bed, despite her being unconscious and, as she recalled later in the episode, “blackout drunk.” Producers, who are not typically on the show, jumped into the scene and forced Jones out of the room despite his heavy protests, expletives and screams. He was then brought to his own quarters, where he locked himself inside.

After learning about what happened from Sisson, a tearful Scott reported the incident to the captain, who quickly kicked Jones off the ship and sent him to a hotel for the night.

“You don’t have the right to put someone unconscious into that position,” Scott told the camera in an interview after the incident. “I have had a drunken sexual-assault experience before, and I never wanted that to happen to anyone else. And she’s just such a sweet angel that the thought of anyone violating or being in her space, it just makes me feel sick.”

The following morning, Sisson, who did not recall details of what had occurred, expressed relief that nothing happened with Jones.

Chambers then called Jones back on board and promptly fired him.

“Last night there were boundaries crossed,” Chambers told Jones. “There was indecency, and you went into someone else’s cabin without consent. Unfortunately, I’ve got nothing else but to terminate your employment.”

Jones then apologized for the incident, “I’m sorry, and I’m just so disappointed in myself.”

What happened in the second incident?

Shortly after Jones was fired from the ship, Sisson discussed the incident with the second steward, Bileskalne. The second steward repeatedly said that she did not agree with Jones’s firing and expressed sympathy toward him.

“Aw, poor Luke,” Bileskalne told Sisson after hearing what happened. “If he comes naked in my cabin I’d be, like, ‘Hello! Yes!’”

After hearing about these insensitive comments, chief steward Scott told the captain that he might need to have a conversation with Bileskalne.

Scott also informed the captain that Bileskalne had separately made a number of unwanted sexual advances toward deckhand Adam Kodra.

Earlier in the Aug. 7 episode, the cameras showed Bileskalne’s attempt to sit on Kodra’s lap in a hot tub and Kodra evading her. Later on, she entered Kodra’s room without his consent and tried to give him a massage, pouring lotion across his back (this appeared to have happened around the same time that Jones entered Sisson’s room). The producers intervened, asking Bileskalne to leave Kodra’s room. She kissed Kodra on the back multiple times before exiting the cabin.

“I told her many times I just want to be friends, but she’s not getting the point across,” Kodra told the camera.

The next morning, Chambers called Bileskalne into his office to talk, where he expressed disappointment for her comments toward Sisson and advances toward Kodra.

“Adam feels uncomfortable with some moments out, and he’s tried to say no, and you have not listened to him and his boundaries to be set,” the captain told Bileskalne the following day.

Chambers said Bileskalne had disrespected him by joking with Sisson about the incident with Jones, despite his conversation with the crew about respecting each other.

“I’m trying to move forward as a team,” he said. “I’m trying to get that behind us, and you’ve brought it straight back up, so in that I’m going to terminate your employment today.”

What has Bravo said about the firings?

Representatives for Bravo and “Below Deck Down Under” declined to comment. Cast members were not made immediately available for interviews.

Has the ‘Below Deck Down Under’ cast responded?

Sisson posted a lengthy message on her Instagram story in which she thanked the producers for helping her throughout the night. She said she was grateful to Scott as well for “the way she recognized the vulnerability of the situation I was in and her courageous intervention.”

“There are unfortunately a lot of captains who would choose to sweep something like this under the rug,” she wrote of Chambers. “I am grateful that Jason is not one of them. Thank you for repeatedly making me feel safe and supported.”

Scott addressed the controversy after the episode aired, saying that everyone has “the right to go out and have fun and feel safe, and that is just the [expletive] end of it. There’s no questions or ifs or buts, that is the end of it. So please keep an eye on your friends and each other.”

Chambers also posted an Instagram video , where he thanked the production team “for breaking the fourth wall and stepping in, then re-forming and allowing Aesha to come to me in an authentic manner and us dealing with as we would as captain and crew.”

Have Jones and Bileskalne made statements?

Bileskalne apologized in an Instagram post published on Aug. 8.

“My sincere apologies to Adam. I did not realize I made him feel uncomfortable, and no one should be put in that position,” she said.

Jones posted a statement on his Instagram, too, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“It doesn’t matter what they think about you because you don’t Care. Everything we Hear is an Opinion, Not a Fact,” he wrote in an Aug. 6 post. “Everything we see is a Perspective. Not the Truth. Take Ownership and move forward.”

This article previously said that Laura Bileskalne apologized in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. Her apology was posted on her Instagram account.

Below Deck’s Ben Is Insubordinate to Captain Kerry Over Cabin Inspections: ‘Micromanaging Galore’

Below Deck s Ben Is Insubordinate to Captain Kerry Over Cabin Inspections

Ben Willoughby ‘s decision to be insubordinate to Captain Kerry Titheradge over cabin inspections on Below Deck did not go over well — at all.

During the Monday, May 20, episode of Below Deck , Ben questioned Kerry’s authority multiple times throughout their final charter.

“It is like Captain Kerry has got his knickers in a knot. It is the last charter. It is like, ‘Come on, Captain. Just chill out,'” Ben told the cameras. “I just feel like I have to bite my tongue right to the end and say, ‘Yes, sir’ just to get on with it. It’s a bit annoying.”

The bosun wasn’t thrilled with how many complaints he received from Kerry, adding, “He’s just micromanaging galore. I’m sick of it. I don’t give a f—k if he’s Captain or God. I can’t f—king win.”

After Kerry made multiple comments about mistakes with the anchor drop and keeping the exterior of the boat clean, Ben aired out his grievances on screen.

“I sort of categorize Captain Kerry as military. There’s no traffic cones to say, ‘Caution ahead.’ It just drops and you are in the s—t,” he added. “It is not the military, mate. It is a bloody superyacht. I am sick of it.”

Kerry, meanwhile, argued that the interior and exterior team shouldn’t be slacking off . “I am getting really annoyed today. I am f—king speechless. It is not the first day, they know what is expected of them,” he said in a confessional. “It is like, ‘Where is this coming from? Why aren’t you doing your job?’ This is just ridiculous. I am pissed.”

As a way to keep everyone in check, Kerry announced cabin inspections on the second to last day . Below Deck viewers might not be used to seeing cabin inspections on the show but Kerry explained that it was a common practice in the yachting industry.

“We have standards that need to be upheld throughout the boat. Standards of cleanliness, tidiness and we are now due to do cabin inspections. To make sure there are no fire hazards and make sure the emergency escapes aren’t blocked,” he detailed. “It is part of health and safety that we do this. I don’t care if it is the last two days of charter. You are only as good as your last day, no excuses.”

The crew had an entire workday’s notice about the inspections. While most of the team found time to clean their rooms, Ben and deckhand Kyle Stillie made it clear they wouldn’t be participating in the captain’s command.

“Well, what is he going to do? Fire us? I don’t care. I couldn’t give a f—k right now,” Ben fired back. “Can’t you see the bigger picture that we are busting our ass? The charter guests are our main priority and focus. Give us a f—king break.”

Despite Ben claiming he had too much on his plate , production showed him goofing off with Sunny Marquis instead of cleaning his room. Fraser Olender was the only one who appeared excited by the prospect of Kerry examining his personal space.

“As a yachtie, cabin checks can be weekly or can be twice a month, or can be monthly. But they do happen and they are very important,” the chief steward explained to the cameras before joking, “It shows how you respect your vessel. So, stay tidy and have some decorum, you swines.”

Kerry subsequently gave Fraser’s room a 10 out of 10 score. Dylan Pierre De Villiers and Nick Tatlock got a 7 for their attempt, while Paris Field and Xandi Olivier ‘s room received a 9 out of 10. Barbie Pascual and Sunny also got a 7 but it wasn’t until Kerry got to Ben and Kyle’s room that he was shocked .

“What the hell is going on here? Like they didn’t even take it seriously?” he asked. “There was no attempt to make it clean. It is like a bomb has gone off. It is f—king disrespectful. I’m f—king beside myself.”

In a confessional, Kerry addressed why Ben and Kyle’s insubordination affected him so much.

“I am very old school. There is hierarchy. You don’t have to understand why a superior makes a decision. You just go do what you are asked to do,” he pointed out. “There’s no bigger ‘f—k you’ to a captain than to go against what he says.”

Kerry called both Ben and Kyle to the bridge to figure out what happened. Ben’s defense was simply that they were “working” and unable to find the time to clean their space.

“It wasn’t like you are just a little messy. It was just f—king rude. Every single person on this boat went to their cabin,” Kerry countered. “You are the f—king bosun, mate. It is f—king blatant disrespect. I’ve shown both of you guys respect. I’ve been out there busting my f—king ass to help you guys out. And this is the way you say f—king thank you? It is beyond words.”

Kerry added: “There was no attempt at all. It makes my blood boil. It is a total slap in the face.”

The tense confrontation comes after Ben previously told Us Weekly he didn’t always get along with Kerry.

“Captain Kerry is very much a military stance — more authority-based respect. So, that was a bit of a learning curve for me. It doesn’t really work with the style that I like to with my leadership,” he noted in March. “We did have a little bit of friction there and you might see a little bit of that coming up.”

Below Deck 's Capt. Kerry Slams Bosun Ben's "Blatant Disrespect" During Explosive Confrontation

Below deck 's captain kerry titheradge unleashed on bosun ben willoughby and deckhand kyle stillie after the crewmembers purposely ignored their boss' orders on the bravo series' may 20 episode..

Ben Willoughby  may think twice before disobeying Captain Kerry Titheradge again.

The Below Deck Bosun found himself in hot water during the Bravo series' May 20 episode after his boss conducted some previously announced cabin checks. Despite it being the crew's ninth and final charter of the season, Kerry requested that the yachties ensure their sleeping quarters were in tip-top shape—a demand Ben and roommate Deckhand Kyle Stillie purposely ignored amid their already busy schedules.

"Cabin checks?" Ben questioned in a confessional. "Come on, dude, can't you see the bigger picture that we are busting our ass? The charter guests are out, our main priority and focus. Give us a f--king break."

Upon inspection later that day, Kerry was shocked to discover Ben and Kyle's messy cabin was in total shambles.

"What the hell's going on in here?" the Aussie reacted. "Didn't even take it seriously? It f--king disrespectful. I'm f--king beside myself."

In a confessional, Kerry explained why Ben and Kyle ignoring his request was so offensive.

"No attempt to make it clean, it's like a bomb's gone off," he noted. "I'm very old school, there is hierarchy. You don't have to understand why a crew makes a decision, you just gotta do it. There's no bigger f--k you to a captain than to go against what he says."

Kerry then called the crewmembers to the bridge to give them a stern talking-to.

When the Captain asked then why they didn't take the cabin checks seriously, Ben simply replied, "We were just working."

But Kerry was not interested Ben's excuses.

"It wasn't like it was just a little messy, it was just f--king rude," a heated Kerry fired back. "Every single person in this boat went to their cabin. Chef broke out from cooking to go do it, interior went and did their bit. And you're the f--king Bosun mate. It's f--king blatant disrespect. I've shown both you guys respect, I've been out their f--king busting my f--king ass to help you guys out and this is the way you say f--king thank you?"

In a confessional, the captain added, "It makes my blood boil. It's a hug slap in the face."

If there's one thing to learn from Camille Lamb 's Below Deck firing, it's to not slack off on the job. That's exactly why the season 10 stew was let go by substitute Captain Sandy Yawn , as Chief Stew Fraser Olender continued to criticize Camille's behavior on board.

From being caught drinking while preparing for a new charter to partying at late hours and more, Fraser informed Captain Sandy that he had reached his "last straw."

"She's the common denominator in all of this," said Captain Sandy. "Great girl, great personality, but at the same time, we have to do what's best for the boat."

Below Deck Adventure 's Kyle Dickard was let go just three episodes into the reality franchise's latest series—which premiered in November 2022. After picking fights with his fellow deckhand Nathan Morley —as well as kissing crew mates in front of guests—Kyle was offered by Captain Kerry Titheradge the opportunity to resign so that his firing would not end up on his personal record.

Kyle took the Captain up on his offer and left the boat after just one charter.

Captain Sandy let bosun Raygan Tyler go during season seven of Below Deck Mediterranean ,  not only for causing the boat to  take a small hit while docking, but also for not stepping up to the plate as a leader.

But Captain Sandy didn't want her firing to discourage the bosun, as she told Raygan, "If I had the time and I wasn't running a boat this size, I would train you. I would teach you."

In addition to onboard romances and failing to follow directions , one of the biggest reasons behind stew Elizabeth Frankini 's Below Deck firing was her infamous laundry room accident , during which made a toxic mess when combining bleach and laundry soap.

"Unfortunately, I didn't know that was so toxic and I feel so bad about it," she told E! News of the incident in December 2020 . "You know, I do feel really bad, especially 'cause Francesca [ Rubi ] did say, 'Take it outside.'"

The bosun and stew were both fired by Captain Jason Chambers for inappropriate behavior after a night of partying with their fellow yachties.

Luke Jones was let go after getting into Stew Margot Sisson 's bed naked while she was drunk and unconscious. Laura Bileskaine also made unwanted advances on Deckhand Adam Kodra despite him telling her he was not interested in hooking up.

Jason made it known that consent was a must, and sent both crewmembers packing.

Tensions between stew Lexi Wilson and Chef Mathew Shea came to a head during an explosive dinner fight on season six of Below Deck Mediterranean , during which Lexi told Matt that his parents "should've aborted you." That was the last straw for Captain Sandy, who fired her not long after the incident.

Deckhand Tom Pearson said "bon voyage" to Below Deck Sailing Yacht after getting let go by Captain Glenn Shephard . Tom hit his last strike with the Captain after failing to report that the boat's anchor was dragging during heavy winds one night, causing a potential safety risk for everyone on board.

"It had to be done. It was such a grievous thing that he dropped the ball there, he had to go, and we had to just be man down and live with it, you know?" Captain Glenn said of the decision  on Watch What Happens Live. "So, obviously, you don't want to do that, but yeah, it had to happen."

Some people are picky eaters, but Below Deck Down Under' s Ryan McKeown was quite the picky chef, as he would judge guests'  food requests  and fail to take  criticism from Captain Jason Chambers , as well.

Perhaps Ryan's Below Deck exit is one of the franchise's most memorable, as he mooned Jason and viewers on his way off the boat.

Below Deck Down Under stew Magda Ziomek 's firing was another case of slacking on the job. After constantly being on her phone texting or video chatting with her boyfriend, Chief Stew Aesha Scott decided to replace Magda before the end of the charter season.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Peter Hunziker was fired from the series in June 2020 after he shared an offensive post on social media.

"Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post," Bravo wrote in a statement at the time. "Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes."

Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier was let go by Captain Sandy on Below Deck Mediterranean after boson Malia White discovered her co-star possessed undeclared Valium and a vape pen, the former of which Hannah claimed was for her anxiety.

"If I could do it all over again, I would've just declared them as soon as I came on board," Hannah stated in an August 2020 interview with E! News. "It was definitely not something that was intentional. I wasn't trying to hide anything.

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Delaney Evans left just as quickly as she arrived. After initially being brought on during season six to help out Chief Stew Katie Flood , Katie determined that Delaney was doing more harm than good, choosing to let her go after just one charter.

"I think she was overwhelmed with the situation, and I think that, you know, in her mind, the best solution to the situation was just to go back to what they had before," Delaney told Bravo Insider of Katie's decision. "I think she was just overwhelmed with everything that was going on and all the feedback she was getting."

Deckhand Shane Coopersmith was a bit in over his head on season eight of Below Deck , as he was let go for failing to know basic skills, reporting late for duty and taking naps on the job.

Chaos in the kitchen led to Captain Lee Rosbach letting Chef Leon Walker go on season three of Below Deck . After an oven fire broke out , Lee placed the blame on Chief Stew Kate Chastain but was ultimately the one sent home.

Like several of the franchise's stars, Below Deck 's Chris Brown  was fired  during season five for failing to fully perform his duties. After being let go by Captain Lee, Chris shared some parting words as he left the boat, stating , "Who gives a s--t?"

Chef Mila Kolomeitseva was fired by Captain Sandy on season four of Below Deck Mediterranean after failing to use her cooking skills to produce top-quality food for guests—including some not-so-nice nachos .

"Of course it makes me feel awful," Mila said of her departure . "People like me who have big egos sometimes have to be put down to earth a little bit. But it makes me feel like I want to work even harder."

Sometimes people just don't work well together. That's exactly why Captain Lee fired Chandler Brooks during season six of Below Deck , telling the boson, "I don't think it's a good fit."

Below Deck Mediterranean's Captain Sandy married on board superyacht She's a 10 Too

Star of Below Deck Mediterranean Captain Sandy has tied the knot with Leah Shafer on board the 54-metre She's a 10 Too . The couple first met on Facebook in 2018 and announced their engagement in September 2023.

The wedding was officiated by Nadine Rajabi, executive producer of Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Down Under . The ceremony will be broadcast on an upcoming episode of Below Deck Mediterranean .

"On May 11th, 2024 I married the love of my life. I had no idea how amazing marriage could be," read a statement from Captain Sandy. "It feels incredible and I feel like the luckiest woman in the world. I love you, Leah Rae Yawn! Thank you for taking my name! Thank you to our entire family and friends for coming out to show your love and support to our relationship."

Delivered in March 2024, She's a 10 Too is the latest Mangusta GranSport 54 from Overmarine Group to hit the water and was sold to an "experienced owner". The series is marked by its speed – able to reach a maximum of 30-31 knots – and its muscular, imposing exterior design.

Her sisterships are Siniar , delivered in 2020 and El Leon , delivered in 2018.

She's a 10 Too was designed inside and out by Italian studio Alberto Mancini with naval architecture by Pierluigi Ausonio PLANA . The superyacht was reportedly lent to the couple by a friend.

She is  currently docked in Port Everglades, Florida, according to BOATPro .

“Below Deck”’s Captain Lee Gets Salty Over Captain Sandy’s Wedding: ‘My Invitation Must Have Got Lost in the Mail’

"We don't see eye to eye on a lot of things," the Bravo alum formerly said of the 'Below Deck: Mediterranean' captain

Looks like Below Deck 's Captain Lee Rosbach and Captain Sandy Yawn are back in rough waters.

During the latest episode of Rosbach's podcast Salty with Captain Lee that published Wednesday, May 22, the Bravo alum discussed his absence from Yawn's wedding to longtime love  Leah Shafer  earlier this month.

"My invitation must have got lost in the mail," Rosbach said, after his podcast cohost Sam DeCavalcanti brought up the nuptials.

Yawn and Shafer got married on May 11. The pair said their "I dos" on a superyacht in Ft. Lauderdale, not far from Lee's home .

The intimate ceremony, which was captured by the Bravo cameras, was officiated by Below Deck: Mediterranean executive producer  Nadine Rajabi . Attendees included Below Deck stars past and present, including chief stews Aesha Scott and Kate Chastain .

Told by DeCavalcanti on their podcast that Chastain was in the crowd, Lee dryly said, "Well good for her."

"Congratulations to the happy couple," shared DeCavalcanti, which was met with an "uh-huh" by Lee.

"You think that's comical, don't you?" he asked DeCavalcanti as she laughed. "I know you do."

Rosbach and Yawn had a friendly working relationship for years before they made their Bravo debuts, he in the debut season of Below Deck in 2013 and her in the second season of spinoff Below Deck: Mediterranean in 2017.

They initially remained respectful and supportive of one another as they commented on one another's decisions made on their respected shows. But that changed over the years, starting with when Yawn stepped in for Rosbach on Below Deck 's 10th season when nerve issues in his left leg caused him to unexpectedly depart the series .

Though Rosbach told PEOPLE he was "grateful" Yawn jumped in, noting that he put her in "a very difficult situation" in "taking over somebody else's boat and somebody's else's crew" and that he "owes her big time for that," he didn't hold back his opinions on her performance while watching the show — specifically over her decision to fire floating deck/stew Camille Lamb without keeping him in the loop.

" I didn’t want her to ask permission, just wanted the update , that quick call you mentioned, good manners," he wrote on X. "She did it on TV in front of how many people without consulting me."

Yawn pushed back afterwards, with a post she shared on social media she later said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked was directed towards Lee.

"I have to say this. 'When they go low, we go high,' " she said. "I told Lee. I was like 'Hurt people hurt people' right? So, I don't know. I haven't ever hurt him, but I think when you spew that kind of stuff, it's inward. And I feel bad for the guy."

She later opened up to PEOPLE about it, saying, "I was the Captain at the time. I wasn't going to call up Lee and get his permission — he was sick in the hospital, I was in command. But I did tell him afterwards. Of course I respect him, it's just strange this became a thing."

Since then the two crossed paths at BravoCon, but don't have a friendship.

"I am fine with that," Rosbach said during an appearance on the Amy and T.J. podcast. "We don't see eye to eye on a lot of things. But she has a job to do and I commend her for her achievements... There's a lot of people I don't like but I respect them."

After Living Much of Life at Sea, Captain Sandy Finds Love on Land

Sandy Yawn of “Below Deck Mediterranean” married Leah Shafer on — what else? — a superyacht in Florida.

Ms. Yawn, in a white suit, sits on the couch of a yacht with crossed legs. She has her arms around Ms. Shafer, who is wearing a white gown. They are looking at each other and smiling.

By Tammy LaGorce

Sandra Dolores Yawn has been locked up, left for dead on a Florida highway and chased through the Red Sea by pirates.

In the summer of 2018, Leah Rae Shafer reached out on Facebook to send Ms. Yawn her blessings. Not because she thought Ms. Yawn, who goes by Captain Sandy, needed her well wishes, but because she had started watching “Below Deck Mediterranean” on Bravo.

The show follows a crew tasked with catering to a revolving cadre of guests who have chartered a superyacht. Ms. Yawn, a star of the series, is at the helm. Ms. Shafer had written to congratulate her on the show’s success. There was another reason, too. “I thought she was hot,” she said.

Ms. Yawn, 59, has been a yacht captain for more than 30 years. Her foray into television, which started in 2017, was not exactly foreordained. Until her mid-20s, “I was a mess,” Ms. Yawn said. “I was always in trouble. I got kicked out of 11th grade. I didn’t go to college.” At 13, at the start of an adolescence spent between Dundee, Fla., where her father lived, and Bradenton, Fla., where her mother lived, she started drinking. By 17, “I was getting arrested so many times I couldn’t even count how many,” she said. Usually a parent bailed her out. Her father’s refusal to do so after one drunken incident landed her a night in jail.

In 1989, when she was 25, the revolving door of South Florida treatment centers she had been pushing through quit spinning when a counselor told her she couldn’t return. “She said, ‘Sandy, as soon as you get some money in your pocket you’re going to start drinking again,’” Ms. Yawn said.

Fearing real jail time, she joined Alcoholics Anonymous. To start paying off the thousands of dollars she owed in legal fees and addiction treatment center bills, she got a job washing boats in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. By 30, she had earned her captain’s license from Maritime Professional Training, a school in Fort Lauderdale for mariners and yachting professionals.

Rehab — she still has an A.A. sponsor and attends meetings whenever possible — helped her pin down the roots of her teenage rebellion. “I think a big part of my drinking was that I couldn’t accept my sexuality,” she said. “When I got sober is when I accepted that, oh my gosh, I actually prefer women.”

For Ms. Shafer, that level of acceptance took much longer. It also cost her a career as a gospel singer.

Ms. Shafer, 50, is the entrepreneur behind a skin care line, Skin by Leah, and a jewelry business started with a friend, Cuff Me. When she messaged Ms. Yawn to congratulate her on the success of “Below Deck Mediterranean” in 2018, she and her husband of 20 years, then living with their teenage daughter in Denver, were going through a divorce. The relationship had gone stale years earlier, Ms. Shafer said, but fear and uncertainty prevented her from leaving.

“I had the security of not worrying financially, because he took care of everything,” she said. Her gospel career at a nondenominational church had taken off when she was still in high school in Hesperia, Calif. But that was mostly a labor of love.

“I toured and went to college at the same time,” said Ms. Shafer, who graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts.

By her 30s, she was recording albums, touring megachurches and singing at major Christian conferences. A flirtation with secular performance in the 2000s landed her on the 2003-04 revival of “Star Search” and later a recurring role on NBC’s “The Singing Bee.”

But “I loved God and I loved inspiring people, and the platform I was given was on the stage of churches,” she said. The only problem: “There was really no money in that.”

Before their divorce was final in 2019, she and her husband tried therapy and prayed together. Finally, in 2018, “I just jumped,” she said. “I took a leap of faith. I wanted freedom.”

She found it financially first. Skin by Leah Studio, her Lone Tree, Colo. facial salon that she founded in 2017, was successful right away, she said. When she first saw Ms. Yawn on TV, she was settling into life as an entrepreneur. She didn’t expect to get a response to her Facebook message. But when she got one three months later, in October 2018, it came with an invitation.

In addition to her job as a TV star, Ms. Yawn had started touring with “I Believe,” a series of motivational talks she created to inspire women in leadership positions. When she finally read Ms. Shafer’s message — thousands had been piling up, she said, but something drew her to Ms. Shafer’s — she was in the market for an entertainer for the talks.

In her message, Ms. Shafer had included a video of herself singing the national anthem at a 2014 Denver Broncos game. Once Ms. Yawn clicked the link, she replied right away. “She gave me her phone number and said, ‘I heard you sing,’” Ms. Shafer said. “‘Let’s meet up and talk about how we can do something together.’”

The two continued to talk on the phone and over email. Ms. Yawn was then living in Los Angeles. Ms. Shafer had been planning a Disneyland vacation with her daughter, Lauren, in November, a trip that gave her an excuse to meet Ms. Yawn in person.

Both say they fell in love seconds after Ms. Shafer pulled into Ms. Yawn’s driveway in mid-November 2018. “I offered to park her car for her, and that’s when we hugged,” Ms. Yawn said. “I felt this energy I had never felt. I knew I had to pay attention to that.”

It was a life-changing hug for Ms. Shafer, too. “It was not a normal feeling when I met Sandy,” she said. “She wasn’t the stern captain you see on TV. She was just so fun and so beautiful. That hug melted me.”

Over dinner at Catch, a Los Angeles seafood restaurant, they acknowledged their attraction. “I was really honest with her,” Ms. Yawn said. But Ms. Shafer wasn’t ready to date a woman. “I knew I wanted to be with her,” she said. “I was just freaked out.”

By the end of the evening, Ms. Yawn told her she should take her time. It had been two years since Ms. Yawn’s last relationship. “So at that point I was like, ‘Why rush it?’” she said. “I was older and I’ve learned a lot of lessons. One was, let things happen naturally. Slow and steady wins the race.”

Six months later, the race was over. The women were in a committed relationship, and Ms. Yawn had moved to a place near Ms. Shafer’s in Denver. It was smooth sailing until the end of 2019, when news of the couple’s relationship started circulating in entertainment media.

The public outing ended Ms. Shafer’s gospel career. “I knew the minute I came out as being in love with a woman it would be over, and it was,” she said. Her six CDs, sold in dozens of church bookstores, were pulled from shelves and shipped to her doorstep. Christian radio stations stopped playing her music.

“I had worked for 35 years,” she said. “And it was over.”

Most painful of all were comments after her father’s death from Covid in 2020. “People in the church told me he died because of my sins,” she said. “But he had met and come to accept Sandy before he passed, and I thank God that happened.” Now, “my family adores Sandy.”

Ms. Yawn lost both her parents to heart attacks before she became a TV star — her father in 2006, and her mother in 2009. In 2015, she was en route to the Miami Boat Show on her motorcycle when she was hit by a car. The driver left the scene. “I felt my mother’s presence while I was flipping through the air, and I felt peaceful,” she said.

When she hit the pavement, she had a fractured pelvis and her foot “was on sideways,” she said. By then, though, she was used to navigating life and death scenarios, including fires at sea and run-ins with pirates. She credits her fortitude and empathy, qualities highlighted on “Below Deck Mediterranean,” which she joined in 2017, to her sobriety. “I’ve got nothing to hide and everything to share,” she said.

In 2022, Ms. Yawn and Ms. Shafer bought a house together in Parker, Colo. In September 2023, while Ms. Yawn was filming in Greece, Ms. Shafer flew overseas to visit. Ms. Yawn proposed with a diamond engagement ring on the beach , with violin players in the background.

On May 11, Ms. Shafer and Ms. Yawn were married in Fort Lauderdale aboard She’s a 10 Too, a superyacht lent to the couple by their friend Carolyn Aronson. Fifty-five guests, the maximum allowed aboard the vessel, were in attendance. Among them were “Below Deck Mediterranean” castmates Aesha Scott, Kate Chastain and Dave White, known to viewers as Chef Dave. (And yes, there were cameras filming.)

Ms. Shafer, in a long white wedding gown by Leah Da Gloria, walked down the aisle with her two brothers, Matthew Dale and Justin Dale, to an altar decorated with white roses and hydrangeas; her daughter, now 18, was her maid of honor.

Ms. Yawn, in a white Veronica Beard suit, was escorted down the aisle by Mark Dunham, her brother-in-law. Michelle Dunham, Ms. Yawn’s sister, was her maid of honor. Most guests were barefoot, as is common on yachts. The brides and their wedding party were granted an exception.

Nadine Rajabi, the showrunner of “Below Deck Mediterranean,” who is ordained by the Universal Life Church, married them on the yacht’s bridge aft deck, a job made more difficult by the weather: wind caused her microphone to cut out and blew the pages of her speech around. But nothing could disturb the focus of the brides as they read handwritten vows.

Ms. Shafer told Ms. Yawn that she had taught her to be more optimistic, more playful and “to jump.” Ms. Yawn told Ms. Shafer that she had given her patience and grace.

The captain had been hoping to make it through the ceremony free of tears. But that, she said shortly after they were pronounced married, was impossible. “The minute I looked at Leah and started reading her all the reasons I fell in love with her I started to cry,” she said. “It’s so amazing to find this kind of love in your lifetime.”

Rescue Mission The couple chose “She’s a Lady” for their first dance during an onboard reception. Chef Dave prepared short ribs and a three-tiered, gluten-free vanilla, chocolate and strawberry cake that threatened to topple in the wind and heat (temperatures were in the 90s).

Cruising After the wedding, the brides took off for a five-day honeymoon to Little Palm Island on a yacht lent by Mr. Flynn. Ms. Yawn was at the helm, of course.

Onward In June, Ms. Yawn and Ms. Shafer will move from Denver to Ponte Vedra, Fla., to be closer to Ms. Dunham, who runs a private school for children with autism, Jacksonville School for Autism, in Jacksonville. On June 3, season nine of “Below Deck Mediterranean” premieres on Bravo. And on July 1, Ms. Shafer will open a skin care studio in Ponte Vedra.

An earlier version of this article misidentified   the man who escorted Sandy Yawn down the aisle. It was Mark Dunham, her brother-in-law, not her friend John Flynn. An earlier version of a picture caption also misidentified Mr. Dunham as Mr. Flynn. Additionally, the article misstated   the shoe rule aboard   the superyacht on which the wedding was held. The brides and their wedding party were allowed to wear shoes; other guests were not.
