Project 2024, a 72.6-meter mega yacht built by Feadship, has been announced

Feadship , a Dutch yacht building company, has collaborated with Nauta Design to offer Project 2024 , a 72m high speed luxury yacht prototype. Project 2024, which was unveiled at an online media briefing, was designed in collaboration with Nauta and highlights marine architecture by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects . The idea was developed in response to a number of customer demands, according to the builder, and is tailored to clients who "have no expertise nor concern in the complicated technological aspects of a new construction."

Project 2024, on the other hand, provides a "incredible number of customised high product options." Many of the key technological components have already been developed, including the necessary engineering and marine design. Costumers would be able to save time on distribution and be free to "build their own personalized Feadship" as a result of this. As a consequence, the mega yacht will be delivered in time for the summer of 2024.

Project 2024 was influenced by plenty of innovative superyacht designs proposed by designers around the industry, according to chief product strategist Farouk Nefzi . “We've seen a lot of stunning futuristic concepts with cutting-edge technologies and fantastical dreams. But the primary issue is what is truly feasible now, and what kind of creativity can be implemented now.” The proposal has been "focused out to the greatest degree of precision," according to Feadship, and is "remarkably separate from just about any luxury yacht prototype model available today."

It was born out of a collaboration between Nauta and the builder on some other Feadship luxury yacht task and according to the company: “Their pleasant friendship encouraged them to imagine how their joint perfect Feadship could look for potential customers wanting to know about how to skip the early technological period of a new build implementation.” Nauta and Feadship spent a few months designing and developing a "unique concept that would incorporate all of their common experience" with Feadship De Voogt Naval Designers.

The 72m Project 2024 is the outcome, a completely Tier III compatible mega yacht with a steel hull and an aluminum upper body. Feadship ’s ceo Jan-Bart Verkuyl stated that the engineering team sought to integrate a variety of market-leading design developments into the concept. Resilience, future creativity and innovation and modern features are just a few of them. “We wanted to have a place where customers could invest extra time with family and friends,” the company says. The outcome is a 70-meter private yacht that incorporates all current construction trends. We know how important it is for people to be allowed to navigate from their yacht, so we have a tickle helipad on the stern, as well as plenty of windows and connections across the outside and inside.”

The main exterior elements contain wide screens, smaller size and "elegant" bulwarks, with a sea view and an inland and outside connection. The 564 square meter of cabin space can be fully customized to the customer's preferences and desires, with 12 guests sleeping in a wide master cabin, VIP cabin, and 8 extra rooms that can be configured as doubles or twins. The master cabin, which is located forward of the main deck, is defined as a "sanctuary of individual privacy and leisure," with pieces of clothing and coated surfaces that produce a "aura of clarity." The suite has his and hers standing cupboards, a lounge, and a personal balcony that results in higher deck's rooftop lobby and outdoor dining hall. A reach helipad has been designated instead of the upper deck, although this may be converted into extra seating if the buyer so wishes.

The above-mentioned sun deck is separated into three main areas. The forward area has a Hot tub that is arranged for tanning, while the center area has a seating area for 12 people that is protected by translucent windbreaker boards. Aft is a bar location. A huge food lift spans both floors, and an escalator will carry visitors around the yacht. Over on the ground floor, the aft section flows into the main saloon, which is separated into a bar and dining area with massive screens and panoramic views of the sea. There's also the luxury of adding flip terraces to the lounge, stretching it over the lake.

The beach club , which is located aft of the bottom section, is a highlight feature. The pool bar is extended by an additional 80 percent thanks to large square side wings. There is also a 3.3-meter pool and plenty of seating in the field. The rooftop bar has tight ties to the deck behind with curving steps – a layout element that allow families to take care on kids playing on the beach club. Verkuyl commented on the beach club idea, saying, "Lots of beach clubs are being built within boats, but we're really watching beach clubs expand and becoming more." It's an attractive room that connects you to the water surrounding you - a spot where you'd like to spend time with loved ones.” Project 2024 has room for 18 team members, along with a designated captain's quarters and eight extra rooms on the bottom section.

Five Top Yachts For 2024

During the Miami International Boat Show last February, a bevy of builders introduced a host of new models for yachting enthusiasts of all kinds. Attendees had the opportunity to see enhanced helm stations, eco-friendly propulsion options, plush creature comforts, and more. Here, we offer a glimpse at some of the yachts that were seen and talked about, whether they’re already under construction or just now coming off the drawing boards for early orders.

CLB80: Made for Different Cruising Styles

CL Yachts is adding a fourth model to its B Series: the CLB80, which joins the CLB65, CLB72 and CLB88 flagship. Aboard the CLB80, owners can choose a forward or aft galley. With the latter, there’s a stool-height dining table that can tuck away against the galley counter, becoming a high bar or a side table for different styles of entertaining. Owners also can choose a single or double helm station, depending on how they prefer to cruise. All four guest staterooms are belowdecks, including an amidships master that spans the 22-foot-6-inch beam. The VIP stateroom is forward with a skylight for additional natural light. There are also two crew cabins with separate access, located between the engine room and beach club.

Saxdor 400 GTO: A New Flagship

Saxdor Yachts is a Finnish yard that was established in 2019. It offers three models: the 270 GTO, the 320 GTO and the recently launched 400 GTO. Note the size of the foldout balcony in the image below; there’s another one on the starboard side of the vessel, substantially increasing the outdoor space when the boat is at anchor. Guests can have snacks or lunch in that shaded section or set out a spread forward on the table beneath open skies. Belowdecks are two staterooms: one forward and one amidships. For cruising families, the shipyard offers the option of adding a kids cabin. Standard power is a pair of 300 hp Mercury Marine V-8s, though the boat is designed for a maximum of 800 hp, if owners want other outboards at the transom.

Vicem TM 37: Sport Fishing in High Style

The TM in the model name of Vicem’s TM 37 stands for “Tuna Masters.” This is a line of center-console boats that the Turkish builder launched earlier this year, with more models expected to come at different lengths overall. Hull No. 1 of the TM 37 is powered by triple 350 hp Mercury Marine outboards that reportedly give eager-to-get-there anglers a top hop of nearly 48 knots. The standard power package is a pair of the 350s, which Vicem says allows for a top speed of about 40 knots. Range is estimated at 350 nautical miles, with a Seakeeper gyrostabilizer as part of the standard-equipment package for more-comfortable time spent on board. Belowdecks are twin berths and a wet head for overnights. Electronics at the helm are by Raymarine.

Cruisers Yachts 55 Fly: Coming this Spring

The 55 Fly is the first model in the new Flybridge series from Cruisers Yachts, which also offers Cantius and GLS series. Expect the official launch of the 55 Fly this spring, with the second model in the Flybridge series on tap for next year. Luiz De Basto collaborated with the Cruisers team on interiors, using the design theme “back to nature in a tech world.” Josh Delforge, vice president of operations and engineering at Cruisers, says that one goal with the 55 Fly was best-in-class water interaction—hence the foldout side platform and sizable swim platform shown in the image below. Power will be twin 725 hp Volvo Penta IPS950s, allowing extra volume to devote to the accommodations for six guests.

Princess Y95: High Style Meets 23-Knot Speed

The Y95 is the new flagship of Princess Yachts’ four-model Y Class of open-flybridge designs in larger sizes. There are five en suite staterooms for a total of 10 guests, with the master spanning the full beam on the main deck. The flybridge is set up for driving and entertaining in comfort. There are twin adjustable helm seats, along with a forward-facing L-shaped seating area for guests. The dining table up top seats 10 people (additional dining space is on the main deck). A bar on the flybridge includes a sink, an electric barbecue, a hob and a drawer refrigerator. Power is a pair of 2,000 hp MAN V-12s that, according to Princess, allow for a top speed of 23 knots. Crew quarters are abaft the engine room, separate from the guest spaces.

Tankoa Yachts is having a moment. The Italian shipyard’s newly delivered 148-foot Go , which will premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival next month, and full custom 190-foot Diamond Binta , debuting at the Monaco Yacht Show two weeks later, represent the range of the Genoa shipyard. Owners looking to get in on the action can satisfy their cravings with Project Secret , which boasts a whirlpool hydro-spa on the sun deck, a beach club built for entertaining and a fine-tuned acoustic interior to enhance the “sounds of the sea.”

The 169-footer, currently under construction, is listed through Edmiston for $42 million. That includes an unusually fast delivery time of 2025, even more noteworthy considering the option to fully customize is included.

Project Secret was commissioned by an owner who decided to sell before taking delivery. He made several design stipulations, including enlisting FM Architettura for the interior and mandating a beach-house aesthetic. The exterior design is spearheaded by Philippe Briand and hails from his Vitruvius collection. Other yachts within the Vitruvius series include 217-foot Alchemy delivered by Rossinavi in 2023 and 180-foot explorer yacht Galileo G .

Tankoa is best known for its semi-custom cruisers, such as the 164-foot Grey , the fifth hull in its S501 series, which Robb Report toured last summer. It also has experience with hybrid yachts that use about 59 per cent less than conventional pure-diesel engine alternatives. Project Secret’s hybrid system powers the hotel load for up to 8.5 hours, with only a 60-minute charging period before it’s ready to go again.

Here are 11 of our favorite features.

Superior Acoustics

Willem van Cappellen, a specialist in yacht acoustics, was brought into the project to manage the internal acoustics and vibrations to meet the owner’s strict requirements to accentuate the “sounds of the sea”—in other words, nothing above 40 decibels, or the sound of a library. When sailing, noise levels of around 80 decibels require guests to speak loudly. Anything above 90 decibels means shouting. When Project Secret eventually sets sail, according to the builder, the only audible soundtrack will be lapping waves and an ocean sea breeze.

Stairway to Heaven

The design plan called for a calming beach house aesthetic. Francesca Muzio and her team at Italian firm FM Architettura answered with an interior where bare woods and soft textured fabrics give a coastal-inspired décor. One of the most striking elements in the main salon is the floating staircase on the main deck that is more artwork than structure, set against a backlit screen.

Project Secret’s beach club is a key feature of the overall design. It includes a wellness area with an infrared sauna, sunbeds and a seaside dipping pool on the swim platform. A pair of fold-down bulwarks extend the waterside relaxation. The large gym is also accessed from here via sliding tinted glass doors.

Owner’s Suite

The asymmetric full-beam owner’s suite has a push-button balcony that overlooks the water, a floating king-sized bed and textured carpet for barefoot appeal. It’s matched with an ensuite marble bathroom with his and hers basins separated by glass dividers, and a large walk-in closet.

Working 9 to 5

On the approach to the owner’s suite is a dedicated office space for two that can be sealed off from the bedroom. It has views out to sea and direct access to the private balcony. 

Electric Avenue

Equipped with a hybrid propulsion system, Project Secret can cruise at 10 knots in full-electric mode or use the batteries to power the hotel load silently for eight to 12 hours. “It’s different from other systems in that the two 300 kW electric motors are in line with the main engines, so it’s more compact and efficient than other hybrid systems,” says Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts.

Style and Sustenance

For entertainment, guests head to the upper deck salon where a grand piano, cocktail bar and large TV will keep everyone amused. A custom teak and metal circular table on the exterior deck brings further dining options.

Main Aft Deck

The main deck aft has fully retractable and flush-to-the-floor glass doors to allow for a seamless transition to the outdoor bar. Further aft, a large lounging area with oversized sunpads, a table and outdoor seating is the ideal place for guests to socialize.

La Dolce Vita

A flush hydro pool (rear center) with stepped access and integrated loungers is the star of the sun deck. It’s next to a curved bar with a rippled-effect front and comfortable seating underneath the shaded hardtop.

Surf and Turf

Unlike most yachts in this size range, the dining table is not located behind the main salon. Instead, it is positioned waterside with a retractable panel that opens to reveal the full al fresco dining experience. Glass balustrades keep guests safe. A fixed glass chandelier brings soft illumination at night.

Flexi-Foredeck

Flexibility is key to the yacht’s design. A large area for relaxing on the foredeck can be used as a dining table, coffee table or full sunpad depending on the mood of the guests.

Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, held their star-studded engagement party on the yacht in 2023. There are some of the big names who have boarded Koru. Jeff Bezos' megayacht has only been sailing on the open seas for a little more than a year, but the $500 million spectacle has already wracked up an impressive guest log of A-list visitors. The Amazon founder has hosted fellow billionaires , reality TV stars, and Academy-award winners on his 417-foot vessel. Here are some of the big names who have enjoyed Koru alongside Bezos. Bezos did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider. Leonardo DiCaprio Hollywood hotshot Leonardo DiCaprio is a repeat sailor on Koru. Bezos hosted an August 2023 party aboard the yacht to celebrate his engagement to Lauren Sánchez, and DiCaprio was in attendance, Page Six reported at the time. DiCaprio was back on the big boat earlier this month, but this time, he was joined by his 26-year-old girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, according to the tabloid . Representatives for DiCaprio did not respond to BI's request for comment. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom enjoyed an Italian summer while sailing on Koru earlier this month. The singer-actor couple were both in attendance at Sánchez's 50th birthday party in 2019, according to Page Six. Perry and Bloom also joined Bezos and Sánchez in Croatia last year , as did Usher. The "Woman's World" singer and her "The Lord of the Rings" partner were back on Koru with Bezos, Sánchez, DiCaprio, and Ceretti this month, Page Six reported. Representatives for Perry and Bloom did not respond to BI's request for comment. Microsoft founder and billionaire Bill Gates enjoyed Koru's amenities when he attended Bezos and Sánchez's August 2023 engagement party. Gates was accompanied by his girlfriend, Paula Hurd. The couple was spotted in paparazzi photos lounging on the yacht's deck. Representatives for Gates did not respond to BI's request for comment. Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner Multiple members of the famous reality TV family have hitched a ride aboard Koru. Kim Kardashian spent time on the megayacht with Bezos and Sánchez earlier this summer as Koru traversed the Aegean Sea near Greece, People reported. The SKIMS founder's mother, Kris Jenner, and her boyfriend, Cory Gamble, were also on board earlier this month, according to the outlet. Jenner also attended Bezos and Sánchez's August 2023 engagement party on Koru. The Kardashian matriarch posted a photo of herself sitting next to Sánchez celebrating the engagement. Representatives for Kardashian and Jenner did not respond to a request for comment from BI. Wendi Murdoch Entrepreneur and investor Wendi Murdoch snagged an invite to Bezos and Sánchez's 2023 engagement party aboard Koru, Page Six reported at the time. Rupert Murdoch's ex-wife was photographed on the yacht in conversation with Gates. BI reached out to Murdoch for comment. Whitney Wolfe Herd Bumble co-founder and billionaire Whitney Wolfe Herd was among Sánchez's female friends who helped celebrate her engagement on Koru last year, BI previously reported. Herd appeared in photos on Sánchez's Instagram from August 2023. BI reached out to Herd on Instagram for comment. Ari Emanuel and Sarah Staudinger Fashion designer Sarah Staudinger and her husband, Ari Emanuel , CEO of entertainment agency Endeavor, also attended the star-studded engagement party last year. Staudinger appeared in photos on Sánchez's Instagram presumably taken on Koru from around that time. Emanuel did not immediately respond to a request for comment. BI was unable to reach Staudinger for comment. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield The two Spiderman actors reportedly attended Bezos and Sánchez's engagement party on Koru last August, Page Six reported at the time. Representatives for Maguire and Garfield did not respond to BI's request for comment. Rania Al Abdullah (The Queen of Jordan) Queen Rania of Jordan was also a reported guest at Bezos and Sánchez's 2023 engagement party, according to Page Six. The 60-year-old billionaire was photographed soaking up the sun in Sardinia, Italy alongside fiancée Lauren Sanchez, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Leonardo DiCaprio and model Vittoria Ceretti over the weekend. The A-list group came to shore on one of Bezos’ smaller boats for lunch at a high-end beach resort before heading back to the massive vessel, named Koru. The Amazon founder dressed comfortably for the meal, wearing blue shorts, a black collared shirt and sunglasses. Meanwhile, Sanchez, 54, turned heads in a low-cut, lace coverup on top of a black bikini. The couple, who started dating in 2019, both went barefoot as they walked along the sand. The “Revenant” actor, for his part, tried to stay under the radar in khaki shorts, a gray T-shirt and a tan baseball hat pulled over his face. DiCaprio, 49, and Bezos have been “really close friends” for years, with a source previously telling Page Six they often vacation together and find “common ground in the  fight against climate change  and their work in environmental activism.” The actor’s model girlfriend, whom he began dating last year, has also seemingly grown close to the couple. The Italian beauty, 26, looked casually cool in a red-and-white animal print skirt with a simple white tank top. She accessorized with a colorful tote, statement sunglasses and strappy black sandals. While most of the group covered up for the excursion, Bloom looked ready to take a dip in the water. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star showed off his abs in an open white shirt and orange swim trunks. He shielded himself from the sun with a green bucket hat and shades. His fiancée, however, pulled out all the stops in a colorful, chevron print mini dress. The frock featured a fringe bandeau top and cut-outs at the torso. In August 2023, the foursome was spotted walking around Dubrovnik, Croatia, with Usher. While it’s unclear exactly when the group linked up , Bezos and Sanchez have spent most of their summer traveling around Europe on his 417-foot megayacht — which accommodates 18 guests. The lovebirds kicked off their summer adventures in Greece alongside Kim Kardashian  before traveling through the Mediterranean Sea and up to Italy. While living on Bezos’ “super big boat,” Sanchez —  a certified helicopter pilot — has been “seen flying a helicopter on and off their support boat, where they keep all their toys . . . helicopters, speed boats and other water toys,” a source told Page Six. The CEO began building the mammoth ship in 2018 and it was finally completed last summer. It is largely considered to be the tallest sailing yacht in the world, measuring 230ft tall. The superyacht has three outdoor decks, two swimming pools, a cinema, several lounges and multiple business areas, according to  Luxuo . Stylistically, it’s complete with a figurehead of the Norse goddess of love, fertility, gold and war — which bears an uncanny resemblance to Sanchez.
