internet not working on when it's "connected" to the vpn

USA servers never work. Buying a subscription works until payment then nothing is activated. You're not invited to connect to your account to link it to the new subscription. Paid for 2 years but I can't use it. Support is really bad, there's no way to contact them by chat and they don't answer to email support requests.

Ever find yourself scrambling to remember that great link you found this week to include in your latest post or newsletter? You know subscribers would love to see it... if only you could find your way back to that remote corner of the internet.
Meet the new Ghost Bookmarker browser extension for Chrome & Arc , which allows you to drop any webpage into a draft post in Ghost with a single click.
Ok, fine, 2 clicks.
Here's how it works:
You're reading something you want to drop into a draft post for later, so you click on the Ghost icon in your browser toolbar. That's it.
The Bookmarker extension will automatically insert new links into the same draft post in Ghost. Once you publish the post and bookmark a new link, the Bookmarker extension will simply start a new draft. This makes it really easy to gather together links for a weekly roundup newsletter.
Once you've added the extension to your browser, enter your Ghost site URL and a personal staff token (found at the bottom of your user profile settings in Ghost Admin) to get started.
If you need help getting things set up, check out our integration guide, here:
We're dedicating this feature to our friends Martijn & Mohamed from Revue (Acquired by Twitter, RIP) who used to have an amazing bookmarking extension — which is where the idea for Ghost Bookmarker came from.

Ghost Browser API
We released the first version of Ghost Browser's public API on June 24, 2020, which can be used to allow browser extensions to talk to Ghost Browser's tabs and Identities.
The first version of the API will allow extension developers to open tabs with a specific URL into a specific Identity or into a new Identity using the openTab function.
Please note that as of December 2020, "Sessions" were renamed "Temporary Identities". To learn more about Temporary Identities please click here .
OpenTabParams consists of the following properties, all of which are optional.
url - URL to open
identity - the ID of the Identity in which the tab should be opened. (The Identity can be found in the Identity Manager interface as shown below, or in the Getting IDs Programmatically section below.) An empty string value equals the Default Identity identifier. There are 2 named constants in ghostPublicAPI scope, as follows:
NEW_TEMPORARY_IDENTITY will open a tab in a new Temporary Identity
DEFAULT_IDENTITY will open a tab in the Default Identity (Note: please use this constant instead of an empty string value whenever you work with the Default Identity identifier)
Please refer to the API Example 2 at the end of the article.
index - insert tab at a specific index in the active window (if possible) to set the position in the browser the tab will be opened into. Use "0" to set it as the first tab, "1" to set it after the first tab, etc.
active - "true" opens the tab as the active tab. “false” opens the tab as an inactive or background tab. "true" is the default.
pinned - open the tab in a pinned state.
callback - this returns the tab_id as an argument when the call is successful. This tab_id can then be used to access and control any tab using the standard extensions API.
Using 'index' parameter with pinned tabs
The index parameter counts tabs from left to right and places your tab in the appropriate location based on that count. However, this placement is subservient to the rule that pinned tabs are always placed before unpinned tabs. Therefore, if you have pinned tabs, or explicitly set the pinned state, it may affect the placement of your tab. For example, If you have 5 pinned tabs open and set a tab to open with 'pinned=false' and an index of 2, the new tab will not be placed after the 2nd tab. Normally, it would but because the 2nd and 3rd tabs are pinned, your new unpinned tab is forced to a position to the right of all of the pinned tabs.
Finding the ID of Your Identities
To find an Identity ID, please open the Identity Manager. You will find the ID at the top of the screen where you can edit your Identity.
Getting Identity IDs programmatically
Currently we do not have a UI to see/copy Temporary Identity IDs (due to the dynamic nature of Temporary Identities and their dependency on Workspaces.) To help alleviate this, we've created a way to help determine an Identity in which a foreground Tab (or any other Tab) was opened. To achieve this, we've extended chrome’s Tab object (see chrome.tabs extensions API for Tab object definition and functions working with it) with the “ghostPublicAPI” property that has the following structure:
- ghostPublicAPI.workspace_id [string] - Workspace ID the tab opened in.
- ghostPublicAPI.identity_id [string] - Identity ID the tab belongs to.
- ghostPublicAPI.is_temporary_identity [boolean] - true if it's a Temporary Identity, false otherwise.
If a tab is opened in the Default Identity, its identity_id will be equal to ghostPublicAPI.DEFAULT_IDENTITY constant value.
Please refer to the API Example 3 at the end of the article.
Checking your extension executes in Ghost Browser
If you develop a cross-browser extension you can use the following condition to check whether your code is running in Ghost Browser
For example, execution of openTab function may look like this:
Example 1: Open a new tab in MyIdentity (using its ID) at 3rd position and in background mode.
Example 2: Open some site in a new tab with a new Temporary Identity.
Example 3: Display Identity ID for active tab of current window

Ghost Browser | The Productivity Web Browser For Techno Pros
- by Web Tech Experts
Have you heard about the Ghost Browser yet? Since the internet is your office, you need a tool that can help you get things done online. Ghost Browser is designed to simplify your browsing experience, keep you organized, and boost your productivity. Today, there are many extensions to sign in to multiple accounts, but Ghost is a much better solution.
Since it’s a built-in Chromium extension , it works seamlessly with all the other Google Chrome Extensions that you already love. And, for one thing, it allows you to login into any website with multiple accounts from one window. This can be quite handy, particularly, if managing multiple social media profiles—for each of the social media platforms.
By all means, the multi-session browsing identities and dedicated workspaces in your Web Browser will help you breeze through your workday. As such, this is where Ghost Browser comes in handy. So, what is it and how does it work?
What Is Ghost Browser?
Ghost Browser is a productivity web browser for people who work on the internet! Increase your productivity, stay focused, and do deep work. Too often technology gets in the way of great work. Nowhere is that more evident than if you look at the web browser space. There has been very little real innovation in this space — and even less towards browsing.
More so, for people who rely on the web browser to do their jobs. Until Ghost Browser, that is… At Ghost Browser, they envision a world in which the global technology workforce can achieve great things at work. While still having the time and energy to have a balanced and fulfilling life outside of it.
That’s why they are tackling the productivity problem by revolutionizing the web browser for people who spend their days working in it. They’re tackling the ‘browser-as-surveillance’ problem by letting you use an adblocker at any time. And also, by helping you isolate your browsing on sites like Facebook and Google—so that they can’t track your other activity on the web.
Ghost Browser is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and is the creation of a dynamic international team. In general, there are various reasons why you should consider using this web browser.
Why Ghost Browser:
- Multiple Identity Types: Choose permanent or temporary Identities to manage your isolated cookie jars!
- Powerful Proxy Options: Assign a different proxy to each tab or to groups of tabs in a flexible and powerful way.
- Chrome Extensions: Built on Chromium so you can import your Chrome extensions in under 30 seconds.
- Fight Tab Bloat: Save your tabs into groups and pull up only the ones you are using right now! Instant productivity!
- Easy To Switch: Install Ghost and import your Chrome settings and extensions in under 2 minutes.
- Readily Compatible: Works on Windows and macOS. Not to mention, even Linux is on the roadmap too.
- Quite Secure: The Chromium open source developers around the world back it up.
Chiefly, the Ghost Browser was created because its founders wanted to get their work done faster and better. Without the limitations and intrusion of the web browsers that were available. They wanted to “ glide smoothly and effortlessly ” through their workday—so that they could get on with the other things that matter in life.

See how other companies that do social media management, customer support, web development, and QA are using Ghost Browser every day to boost their teams’ productivity.
What Is Ghost Proxy Control?
By definition, Ghost Proxy Control (GPC) is an extension created custom for Ghost Browser that allows you to assign a different proxy (IP address) to each tab, Workspace, or Identity in Ghost Browser. Proxies make it appear that you are located in the same place as the proxy server. You may need different proxies in order to test websites or log into accounts.
More so, as if you were located in a different state in the US, in the UK, or Germany, for example. You can use this extension to easily assign any proxy to a tab, Workspace, or Identity in Ghost Browser. GPC accepts http, https, IPv6, and SOCKS5 proxies where the host explicitly has a “socks5” scheme before the IP address. For example, “socks5://220.127.116.11.”

For IPv6 proxies, we recommend that you purchase an IPv6 HTTP(s) proxy which has IPv4 address for browser-to-proxy requests and an IPv6 address for proxy-to-site requests. Sounds great, how do I use it? In particular, Ghost Proxy Control is a premium product available for purchase as part of their Pro Plan .
*Ghost Proxy Control does not come with proxies. You must purchase proxies from a proxy provider and load them into the extension in the browser.
The GPC extension does not come pre-loaded with proxies, you must bring your own proxies to use Ghost Proxy Control. You can see all the instructions on how to add SOCKS5 proxies to Ghost Proxy Control in full detail. By the same token, you should also learn how to manage and use Ghost Browser settings before you get started.

Eventually, the browser is the gateway to the World Wide Web. But, the way we use a browser hasn’t changed that much. More so, ever since Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome started battling with Internet Explorer and Safari.
We need to ask ourselves:
- Which browser do you want?
- What’s the future of browsers?
- How will we access the internet a few years down the line?
Recently, a few developers have been re-imagining how a browser should work. We’ve already seen old Opera developers make the new Vivaldi for power users .
And, of course, as Chrome, Firefox, and others continue to innovate, some others are taking giant strides. Overall, from task-based tabs to full protection of your data, there’s a lot to look forward to. Having said that, you can learn more about how most new browsers show the future of web surfing just like the Ghost Browser does.

How to install a VPN on your Chromebook or Chromebox
C hromebooks are great devices for most people. They're affordable and powerful enough to accomplish most tasks. All Chromebooks, including those for the more budget-conscious , are designed to be secure . They sandbox each tab and app so that it can't access the rest of your device.
Even with these safeguards, your browsing traffic isn't secure from prying eyes. That's where a VPN comes in. It shields your data from outside influences. Chromebooks come with a few ways to install a VPN, and this guide discusses how to use them.
What is a VPN?
A virtual private network, or VPN , is a service that stops others from seeing what your device's internet protocol (IP) address is accessing. A VPN hides your IP address and encrypts your data through a tunnel so that it's inaccessible to others. This process shields your data from other parties, including bad actors and your internet provider, so your browsing should be safe.
A VPN routes your data through a service in another location, whether in the US or another part of the world. Your traffic appears as if it's coming from somewhere else. There are numerous VPN offerings, whether you want to use a free one or pay for one that is of higher quality.
VPNs can hide your browsing traffic and access information from other locations. VPNs can help access this data, whether you're trying to find data censored by your government or access shows and movies that aren't available in your country. Some VPNs allow you to select the server location your web traffic is coming from, so you can access data from whichever country you please.
How to install a VPN on a Chromebook
There are two main ways to install a VPN on a Chromebook. You can use a Chrome browser VPN extension or an Android app.
Using a Chrome browser VPN extension
The Google Chrome browser has extensions that improve the browser or add services to it to help you accomplish tasks. Numerous VPN extensions can make your browsing on Chrome more secure.
- Go to the Chrome Web Store .
- Search for the VPN service you want to add.
- Select the Add to Chrome button for the extension you want to add.
- Wait for the extension to install, activate it, and sign in or sign up for the service.
- Turn on the VPN.
Your VPN is now set up and activated. This method only works for traffic in your browser and does not hide the browsing data from your apps. Download an Android VPN app to hide this data.
Using an Android VPN app
You can install an Android app from the Google Play Store on your Chromebook in addition to adding a Chrome browser extension. The steps are similar to installing a Chrome browser extension, except they use the Google Play Store.
- Open the Google Play Store on your Chromebook.
- Search for the VPN service you want to install on your device.
- Go to the app listing and click the Install button.
- Open the app after it is installed, and sign up or sign in to the service.
- Activate the VPN service.
This VPN service hides your browsing traffic from your browser and apps on your device.
Using a Built-in VPN
Chromebooks have support for built-in VPNs that can be added manually.
- Tap the time in the lower-right corner of the screen.
- Select the VPN option.
- Click + next to Built-in VPN .
- Fill out the required information and select Connect .
Browse more privately
We all like to stay as private as possible in the digital world. A VPN is a great way to do that. Chromebooks have various ways to connect to a VPN. Using any of them ensures you'll have a more private browsing experience. Make and host your own VPN if you want more control over your web browsing data.

Microsoft confirms Microsoft 365 service degradation for 1% of Chrome users
Google enabled Tracking Protection for 1% of all Chrome Stable users as part of the company's greater plan to drop third-party cookies support. Microsoft has now confirmed that the 1% may run into issues when using Chrome and Microsoft 365.
A new Microsoft 365 Alert confirms the issue. Microsoft explains that affected Chrome users may run into issues when using Microsoft 365 in Google Chrome. While most of the service and its tools work without issues, some do not according to Microsoft.
Company engineers have confirmed that the following services and functions are affected:
- Unable to create sites from SharePoint or the admin center
- Unable to access Viva Engage or connector webparts
OneDrive for Business
- Unable to access recent documents via the Microsoft 365 app launcher
- Unable to access OneDrive from the app tray
- Unable to access the Files tab within a Teams channel
- Unable to access Viva connections
Engineers validate other services and investigate potential issues not confirmed at this point. Once confirmed, new issues will be added to the alert.
Microsoft suggests that affected users start using Microsoft Edge, if possible, to avoid these issues. Chrome administrators may also set the Tracking Protection flag to Disabled to exit the experiment. This is a temporary measure only, as Google plans to disable third-party cookies in Chrome for all users.
Here are the required steps:
- Load chrome://flags/#tracking-protection-3pcd in the browser's address bar.
- Set the flag that appears -- Tracking Protection for 3PCD -- to Disabled.
- Restart Google Chrome.
Tip: administrators may use the flag to set the feature to Enabled. This enables Tracking Protection in Chrome and allows them to test services and products prior to the main rollout to all Chrome users.
Microsoft 365 developers are also "developing and deploying changes to restore functionality when accessing via the affected web browser" according to Microsoft.
Google announced the end of third-party cookies last year. It will be interesting to see if other online services are affected by the company's decision.
Estimates suggests that more than 30 million Chrome users make up 1% of the browser's total share of users. Not all of these use Microsoft 365, but since other services may also be impacted, it is likely that additional notices will be published in the coming days and weeks.

Hey Martin, is there a reason why my comments stopped appearing?
uBlock Origin blocks a lot of telemetry from Microsoft 365. In a single session I see more than 200 requests blocked.
Besides being webapps and not standalone applications I don’t see major performance impacts on either Chromium based browsers or Firefox.
