Power Book II: Ghost producer reacts as episodes leak online
Executive producer 50 Cent takes aim at the network while show stars also share their thoughts on the leak.
As many fans found themselves disappointed with the news that Starz wouldn't be airing a new episode of Power Book II: Ghost on May 12, that disappointment started to fade for some as the final two episodes of season 3 were leaked online.
That's right, episodes 9 and 10 of the explosive season were leaked on the internet, and fans rushed to watch them eager to see what happens next with Tariq , Brayden and the rest of the characters in the crime drama. While we won't be offering up any spoilers here about what happens in the episodes, we'll just say that loyal viewers had plenty of reactions to the episodes and were appreciative to see the videos.
However, unsurprisingly those behind the show weren't among them. Someone who wasn't quite appreciative of the leak was series executive producer and Grammy-winning rapper 50 Cent. In fact, he aimed his frustration of the event at the network home of Power Book: II: Ghost , Starz. As shown in the tweet below, he stated, "Give it up for the only network that leaks its biggest shows. 👏👏👏great work guys!"

The hitmaker’s comments aren’t entirely shocking, as he’s gone on record several times to express his discontent with the network. In a tweet posted on April 13, he shared his regret working with Starz to develop his list of successful shows, even promising not to create a spinoff of the popular drama BMF with the network.
I have the number 1,2,3, and 4 top Tv shows in African American, and Latina households and i hate that i did them with the wrong people. I’m not doing any BMF spin offs or selling any other shows to STARZ. ✌🏽GLG🚦GreenLightGang #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi pic.twitter.com/65yBgYDpuZ April 13, 2023
Furthermore, as reported in Deadline , he recently parted ways with Starz as he develops future TV and streaming content.
Power Book II: Ghost stars Woody McClain and Gianni Paolo also took to social media to share their thoughts on the leaks. Both actors seemed to poke fun at the incident by claiming to know who was responsible. While McClain didn't give a name, Paolo jokingly pointed to BMF star Da'Vinchi. Check out their reactions just below.

To date, the source of the leaks has yet to be identified.
For those hoping to catch the final episodes of Power Book II: Ghost in the full production value they were meant to be consumed, you can watch them air live on Starz on Friday or stream on the Starz App.

"Power Book II": Method Man's Davis MacLean Gets Grilled By the Feds in This Exclusive Season 3 Clip
Published on 5/17/2023 at 3:00 PM
The pressure is on and things are getting intense as the end of "Power Book II: Ghost"'s third season nears. For much of the season, viewers have watched Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) and his drug network — Brayden, Effie, the Tejadas (Monet, Cane, Diana, and Dru), and their connect Noma — dodge the feds as they've moved (most of) their enterprise to Wall Street and new territory. However, the looming RICO investigation threatens to take the whole crew down. And now Tariq and the Tejadas' attorney, Davis MacLean (Method Man), has found himself in trouble for aiding their illegal activities, too.
POPSUGAR has an exclusive look at this week's ninth episode, in which Davis gets grilled by ADA Jenny Sullivan (Paton Ashbrook) and Detective Blanca Rodriguez (Monique Gabriela Curnen) at a police precinct for his shady business that got Cooper Saxe murdered , as well as for getting caught tipping off Diana about their RICO case. In the clip, Jenny tells him, "We think you made Saxe as our CI (criminal informant) and fed Diana false information to give Saxe, then you had Theo , who already took the weight once for you, kill Saxe."
After a heated exchange, she then tells Davis, "Saxe's blood is on your hands." To which he says, "If you're looking for someone to blame Saxe's death on, look in the f*cking mirror."
Thus far, season three has been full of shocking deaths , surprise character returns , and plenty of mind-blowing action. But the lead-up to the finale promises a ton more epic drama that'll unfold, especially since season four has already been confirmed. Despite a leak of "Power Book II"'s final two episodes, the show will still air the rest of season three through May 26 as scheduled. Watch a sneak peek of the penultimate episode above.

Power Book II: Ghost Recap: Everyone’s Taking It Too Far
Power book ii: ghost.
I’d be lying if I said I weren’t in my feelings. Did Effie really kill Lauren? Tariq is his father’s son for sure! Remember, it was his father’s actions that cost Angela her life. And similar to his father, Tariq’s demons are beginning to haunt him more frequently. Episode nine begins with us in the middle of Tariq’s nightmare. Professor Tate presents a thoughtful question on the lecture room’s board “Is there any such thing as a fair fight?” Professor Reynolds, Kanan, Ray Ray, Lakeisha, Proctor, and professor Milgram all show up and blame Tariq, whether directly or indirectly, for their deaths. They also accuse him of not playing fair. Was it fair that he left Proctor’s door unlocked so Tommy could sneak in? Or that he set up Cane? Like most of the people who died, Tariq’s unable to take accountability. Ghost calls Carrie’s phone, and Tariq refuses to answer. The more he tries not to be like his father, the more he becomes his father. As he tries to exit, Lauren shows up (foreshadowing her death?), and he begs her not to go into the classroom. Surprisingly, she encourages him to answer the call. Dream over.
Awakened by his phone ringing in real life, Tariq answers Davis MacLean’s call. MacLean is trying to figure out what Jenny Sullivan and Rashad Tate have on his client. Tate is Sullivan’s next witness, but little does she know, Tate is corrupt and self-serving.
Fishing for information, Tate goes to his brother to inquire about Jenny’s motives. The detective tells him that Jenny plans to use him to repair Carrie’s image. During their conversation, Kamaal casually mentions receiving frequent calls from a drunk woman who has identified herself as a potential witness in the Jabari Reynolds murder. Because the woman keeps changing her story, the younger Tate brother doesn’t believe her. He asks his brother for advice, but the councilman, realizing that this is valuable information that can benefit him, advises Kamaal not to say anything. He wastes zero time saying something to Tariq, though. With the fate of Tariq’s future in the hands of Tate, he’s forced to get him tangible proof of Sweeney in Blackface, even though he knows it will piss Brayden off. In the courthouse bathroom, Tariq slips the Sweeney photo to Tate, ensuring Tate will come through for Tariq on the stand. And that he does!
While on the stand, the judge is not impressed with Jenny’s questioning of Tate. Things get even odder when the councilman announces to the courtroom that his brother is employed by Jenny’s office and is working directly on the case. It sounds like a potential conflict of interests to me, and I’m sure the jurors would think so too. On cross-examination, Davis questions Tate on Kamaal’s investigation, knowing that he would tell the court about the potential eyewitness the prosecution has been ignoring that said she saw two men at Jabari Reynolds’ murder. Davis calls for a dismissal of the case, arguing a Brady violation. For those of us who have never taken a law class, the Brady Rule states that prosecutors are required to disclose any evidence favorable to the accused. Agreeing with Davis, the judge gives Jenny 48 hours to prove her office didn’t withhold exculpatory evidence.
Meanwhile, the community is under the impression that Carrie committed suicide. Zeke is having difficulty coping with Carrie’s death and the news that Monet is his mother, so he reaches out to Dante. The two meet over drinks, and Dante sells him a dream. He suggests that Zeke take a break from school to work with a private coach (that he will pay for) to prepare for the draft. Knowing that Zeke is upset with Monet, he pushes for Zeke to continue a relationship with her.
As Dante tries to piece together his imaginary family, Dru and Diana plot to save theirs. Since Monet, Cane, Tariq & Co. robbed Mecca, Lorenzo now doesn’t have access to any product, and he’s pissed! Dru tells him the truth about what happened, and Lorenzo demands that they get his drugs back. Diana has been semi ostracized because of her outburst at dinner, airing all of the family’s dirty laundry. She wants nothing more than to get back on her papi’s good side, so she cons her way to gain access to the roof from Tariq. After a few tears shed for Tariq and sex with Everett, Diana and Dru are able to use Everett’s keycard and Tariq’s QR code to recoup all the drugs without anyone noticing a thing. Lorenzo wastes no time and gets the drugs out to the streets quick! As the cash comes through the car window with his son by his side, Lorenzo is in his element.
The same cannot be said for Monet. Her life has flipped upside down, and she now has to explain to her “nephew” that she’s really his mother. Monet tells Zeke about having him at 16 and how hard it was when they took Zeke from her. Zeke asks if she had anything to do with Carrie’s death. She says she went straight to Dante after Lorenzo kicked her out, Dante vouches for her — they both are lying. Zeke is not impressed and tells them his plan: to get drafted and never speak to either one of them again.
During a press conference with Zeke and his agent, as he announces he’s leaving Stansfield to prepare for the draft, someone tipped the media about his actual age, and his future crumbles right before his eyes. As Monet and Dante try to be parents of the year and fix Zeke’s PR nightmare, the three of them get shot at. Monet blames the information leak and shooting on Lorenzo.
While all of this is happening, Jenny works hard to nail Tariq. She switches up her strategy and goes after the Westons. Because of his fuckup, Kamaal gifts her with Ramirez’s dash camera footage. Jenny confronts Brayden with the recording on Lauren’s wire of him and Cane. Brayden denies knowing him, but Trace runs his mouth as if he’s getting paid to do so. Brayden holds it down by sticking to his story, but Jenny corners him when she presents a photo of Brayden and Trace from officer Ramirez’s dashcam. Trace is willing to testify, but Brayden isn’t. Well aware of Brayden’s loyalty to Tariq, Jenny agrees to immunity for both, regardless of who testifies.
Feeling guilty, Lauren attempts to explain herself to Tariq. In the midst of doing so, she tells Tariq about wearing a wire on him, and he tells her that Cane Tejada is on the recording and it would only be in her best interest to leave town. Tariq makes the mistake of venting to Effie about Lauren and the wire — they both view her differently. Effie thinks Lauren is a snitch and the reason why Tariq is in court in the first place, and Tariq believes that professor Milgram forced Lauren.
Deciding to take matters into her own hands, Effie tells Cane that Lauren got him on a wire with Brayden and Tariq is letting it ride. Cane tells Brayden to take care of the “Lauren problem,” or he instead will take care of the “Brayden problem.” Brayden is no killer, but he also knows snitching won’t do him any good either. He chooses not to kill Lauren. Instead, he gives her a bag of cash and tells her to disappear without contacting anyone, including her family. But Effie shows up, busts Lauren aside her head, puts her in the burner car, and drives off. When she returns from her little trip, she has a look of guilt on her face as she sneaks back into bed with Tariq. We are left to speculate whether or not she killed Lauren — if she did, that’s so fucked up!
While all the Lauren, Brayden, Cane, and Effie drama is going on, Cane has his own shit to handle. Mecca basically kidnaps him. He also yokes Cane up and tells him he knows he stole his drugs. Things turn for the worse once Mecca realizes his go-bag is gone. Cane denies taking it, but Mecca cuts his access off and locks him in the penthouse. With a tracker on the bag, Mecca knows the bag is on Stansfield’s campus with the one and only Tariq St. Patrick. He heads to Stansfield.
Thinking he’s about to die, Cane calls Monet. He tells her everything — how Mecca knows they stole from him, how he’s locked in the apartment, but Monet questions why he isn’t dead already and why he still has access to a phone. She tells Cane to send her a picture of Mecca.
After receiving a warning from Cane, Tariq looks in the go-bag. He finds bank accounts in Tejada’s kids’ names and a cooperation agreement for “Dante Spears.” He quickly hides the bag and reaches out to Davis for info on Dante Spears. Davis lets him know that Dante is a huge informant, so well connected that the Feds hid him out of the country.
When Dante arrives, Tariq uses the snitching information to leverage the hidden bag for an offshore $2 million account. Mecca agrees, but before he leaves, he brags about selling Lobos to the feds and thanks Tariq’s father for killing Lobos before he ever found out — plot twist!
Mecca returns to the penthouse to find Monet. She now knows that Dante is Mecca. Monet blames the hangar heist on Lorenzo and tells Dante that they need to kill him, then take off on that jet with the kids. Mecca asks Cane if he’s down — Cane says he’s in, and so is Mecca — I guess some of the Tejadas don’t believe in fighting fair.

"Power Book II: Ghost" Final Episodes Leak Online, Social Media Reacts
No spoilers, please!
Leaks are a plague on pop culture, whether for the early spoilers or for ruining the surprise element and intended rollout for fans in any medium. Moreover, the final two episodes of "Power Book II: Ghost" leaked online, and social media had a field day reacting. Of course, they had both the series events (which won't be spoiled here) and the leak itself to react to. In fact, a lot of the show's stars and collaborators reacted online with surprise, frustration, or the lightest attitude they could muster. Unsurprisingly, series head 50 Cent had the most notable reaction online.
"Give it up for the only network that leaks its biggest shows," Fif wrote about Starz. "Great work guys!" Fortunately, it seems like these won't literally be the last episodes of "Power Book II: Ghost." Reports in January indicated that the network renewed the show for a fourth season , so there's plenty more "Power" to watch unfold. Still, that probably won't arrive in a while, so it's still unfortunate that fans who'd rather wait for official releases have to dodge spoilers online.

"Power Book II: Ghost" Final Season 3 Episodes Leak: Its Stars React
In addition, it should be noted that this isn't the first leak that "Power Book II: Ghost" has had to deal with. Even without these new leaks in mind, there is still plenty of drama to go over within the show's universe and production. A recent one was cast members claiming that T.I. was replaced by Method Man on the show due to his beef with 50 Cent. During an interview with Tony the Closer, the Atlanta trap pioneer cleared the air surrounding his alleged involvement and subsequent removal from the show.
Social Media Reacts To The Leaks
"50 and I we were executive producers on a different show outside of the 'Power' universe. But nah, me and 50 cool, ” he said. “I think I’m the only one who is not offended by his brash approach and he’s not offended by mine. So, you now, we play rough but ain’t no issue. It’s a mutual respect, though." These rumored beefs are nothing compared to how the G-Unit mogul feels about Starz and these leaks. Keep scrolling to see more reactions on social media. Ep 9. A Last Gift
- May 19, 2023
In the riveting ninth episode of Power Book II: Ghost's third season, aptly titled "A Last Gift," tensions run high and the stakes have never been greater. At the epicenter of this volatile narrative, we find Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.), the show's protagonist, persistently working against the clock and dealing with the consequences of his actions.
In a world where power, influence, and danger continually intersect, Tariq is forced to balance the demanding requirements of his double life. As a promising student by day and an ambitious player in the New York drug trade by night, Tariq's life is anything but ordinary. In "A Last Gift," this duality reaches new heights as Tariq finds himself on the precipice of a crisis that could not only destroy the drug organization he's involved in but also jeopardize his family's safety.
The episode sees Tariq scrambling to stay ahead of information that could incriminate his associates in the drug trade. As secrets threaten to surface and the walls close in, Tariq must navigate a complex web of alliances, betrayals, and power struggles. Throughout, he is continually driven by his innate desire to protect his family, ensuring their safety even as he entangles himself deeper into the criminal underworld.
As Tariq wrestles with these challenges, the authorities are not far behind. The pressure from law enforcement intensifies in this episode as the feds double down on their efforts to dismantle the drug organization. Setting their sights on a new target, they aim to make a breakthrough in their investigation that could turn the tide of the entire operation. This subplot adds a layer of suspense and impending danger, as Tariq's world and the law enforcement investigation inch ever closer to a collision course.
"A Last Gift" is an episode rife with tension, danger, and complex moral choices. With its compelling narrative and strong character arcs, it encapsulates the best elements of Power Book II: Ghost. As the characters grapple with their choices and face the potential fallout, viewers are treated to a high-stakes drama that keeps them on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
This episode serves as a testament to Tariq's evolving character and resilience. Faced with adversity, he showcases his intelligence, resourcefulness, and determination. However, the moral complexities of his choices and the potential harm to those he loves cast a long shadow, posing questions about justice, loyalty, and the cost of power that the show has consistently explored.
In conclusion, "A Last Gift" is a captivating episode that pulls the viewers deeper into the complicated world of Power Book II: Ghost. It's a thrilling exploration of the lengths one will go to protect their family, the relentless pursuit of justice, and the continual dance on the edge of danger. As secrets unravel and the noose tightens, the episode sets up an enticing lead into the season finale, leaving viewers eagerly awaiting what comes next.

‘Power Book II: Ghost’: There Is No Greater Gift Than Time In Season 3, Episode 9
(WARNING: Spoilers (or maybe not?) for this week’s Power Book II: Ghost episode will be found below.)
Power Book II: Ghost lost a big character in its most recent episode , which probably makes the two-week break the show was on quite warranted. Cooper Saxe, a role Shane Johnson played for a decade, was killed in episode eight of season three. His death came via gunshot from Davis MacLean’s brother, Theo, who killed Saxe and then himself in what will surely be one of the most shocking events in season three. That wasn’t all from episode eight, though. Elsewhere, Effie was arrested for her attempted murder of Lauren and Tariq helped set forth a plan for him, Monet, and RSJ to get their money back from the Weston Holdings Ponzi scheme.
In episode nine of Power Book II: Ghost season three , titled “A Last Gift,” everyone has to immediately deal with the aftermath of Cooper Saxe’s death and Effie’s arrest. Tariq discovers that Saxe knew about Lorenzo’s connection to Zeke’s death via evidence from a police report and Davis MacLean is left to prove that he did not influence Theo’s decision to kill Saxe while fighting new allegations from Jenny Sullivan. The Tejadas also have to make sure that they do not become collateral damage in the Saxe/Effie mess, but that becomes the least of their worries when Dru, Cane, and Diana find out that Monet enlisted Gordo to kill Lorenzo in response to him accidentally killing Zeke. This leads to an explosive response from the Tejada children, one that will forever change the relationship they have with their mother.
Elsewhere in this episode, Weston Holdings gets exposed for their Ponzi scheme which leaves Brayden, Kiki, and others at a huge risk of getting in trouble. Reluctantly, Brayden takes care of the issue in a way he hoped he wouldn’t have to. Tariq is also visited by an individual from his past and it’s here that he learns that his mother is a grave danger, something that leads to another meeting with an important figure from his past.
Here are some of the biggest takeaways that we have after season three’s ninth episode, “A Last Gift”:
Tariq Is Tired Of Saving Everyone
There hasn’t been a point in season three where Tariq wasn’t going out of his way to save someone close to him, whether it be for the drug operation or for personal reasons due to the relationship at hand. He’s saved the Tejadas and he’s saved Effie. He’s saved Brayden and he’s saved Rashad Tate. Sure, Tariq has been the saved individual a few times, like when Brayden took the fall for him on the witness stand in season two, but more times than not it’s Tariq with the cape on. In episode nine, Tariq is back to his saving ways. He buys the group more time from Noma when Effie gets arrested and he talks some sense into Brayden when he’s hesitant to handle his uncle Lucas who is moments away from telling the police about the Weston Holding Ponzi scheme and the drug operation Tariq and Brayden run there. However, when the episode concludes with Tariq rushing to his mother’s witness protection home, you can tell Tariq is tired of this constant need to serve and protect the people around him. The attacks are getting tiresome, and he’d love for things to just go right for once, but nope. We’re left on a massive cliffhanger involving Tariq, his mother, and none other than Tommy Egan.
Jenny Sullivan’s Scorched-Earth Approach Will Only Leave Her Burned
One of the biggest reasons behind Cooper Saxe’s downfall, and eventually his death, was his relentless chase of the St. Patricks and any of their associates. Saxe ran into the figurative brick wall that cost him his life, and from the looks of it, Jenny Sullivan could be taking the first steps toward a similar fate. Jenny’s connection and love for Saxe certainly make her goal of having the St. Patricks and their associates pay for his death reasonable, but her scorched-earth approach will only lead to mistakes and presumably a loss. Yes, to beat Tariq and his crew you have to stay one step ahead of them, which is what Jenny did by using the attempted murder charge she had against Effie to put her behind bars. However, you can’t get too ahead of yourself. So through the tears and the extremely confident determination to take them down, Jenny can’t get too out of character or she’ll find herself in the same position Saxe found himself in for the past ten seasons: doing whatever in the pursuit of a win to make up for a resume of losses.
Brayden’s Corporate Suit And Tie Doens’t Make Him Less Like Tariq
I touched on this following last week’s episode, but Brayden seems to think that he is playing a different game compared to Tariq — better yet, it seems like he thinks his game is a bit more law-abiding. In episode nine, Brayden has a moment of truth with Tariq where he admits to not wanting to become the person that Tariq is today, the person that was able to kill his father and others in pursuit of his goals. Tariq sees it a lot differently though, he views his actions as necessary to make sure that he and Brayden were always safe and could escape harm’s way if they ever found themselves there. Tariq was down to do what was needed, but Brayden has always been a bit hesitant when it was his turn. As he stands there, suit and tie’d up speaking to Tariq, it seems like it finally dawns on him that this corporate look of his doesn’t make him any better than or less like Tariq. Maybe it was this conversation or maybe it wasn’t, but in the end, Brayden did what needed to be done for him and Brayden to live to see another free day.
Monet Never Valued The Most Important Part Of Her Regime
The Tejadas’ best quality was the cohesiveness and chemistry between their family, who were all participants in the drug business. It’s something that seemingly made them a force to be reckoned with. However, with Monet taking over the reins, especially during Lorenzo’s incarceration and especially after her death, it was clear that she never valued that family aspect in terms of its importance towards their drug business. She led like a dictator and often manipulated her kids to do what she wanted and believe what she wanted them to. Unfortunately, Dru, Cane, and Diana are a smart bunch, and it was only a matter of time until they figured out the truth of Lorenzo’s death, which is exactly what happened in “A Last Gift.” We’ve seen the Tejada children storm away from their parents or storm out of their house multiple times over the three seasons of Power Book II: Ghost , but this latest occurrence is a lot different. Monet has caused irreversible damage and it’s something that will definitely come back to bite her in the future. Dru, Cane, and Diana are independent and will certainly figure out how to achieve their personal goals on their own if need be, but as for Monet’s drug business, it was never built as a solo operation. We’ll just have to wait and see how she moves forward with her kids now against her.
New episodes of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ are available on the STARZ app on Fridays at 12:00 am EST and on the STARZ TV channel at 8:00 pm EST.

Power Book 2 season 3 episode 8 recap
Titled Sacrifice, episode 8 of season 3 aired on Friday, May 5, 2023.
The episode began by following Dru who has been going through a rollercoaster of emotions of late with a recent breakup and subsequently finding love with Gordo Castillo.
However, after discovering that Gordo had been responsible for the death of his father, Lorenzo Tejada Sr, Dru reluctantly murdered his new love interest while he was taking a shower.
Matters get even worse for Dru in episode 8 when his ex, Everett, announces on a sports show that he’s coming out as the first openly gay NBA player with his new boyfriend, which leads to a heated confrontation between Everett and a drunken Dru.
The incident is caught on camera and quickly goes viral and is seen by Gordo’s brother, Gustavo, who works out that Dru must know what happened to Gordo.
Elsewhere, we find Diana currently in police custody in connection with the attempted murder of Lauren. However, on the advice of Davis Maclean, the successfully puts the blame on Effie who is later arrested as well.
Later in the episode, Diana is finally released from custody and tells Tejada family matriarch Monet that she wants out of the game and to attend college, but Monet quickly shuts her down.
As the episode draws to a close, Tariq and Maclean begin to plan how they will deal with Saxe now that they know he’s a mole but before they can do anything, Maclean’s brother Theo, who has just been released from prison, arrives on the scene and kills Cooper himself, making an already messy situation even more complicated.
Power Book 2 season 3 episode 9 release date and plot preview
Episode 9 of Power Book 2: Ghost season 3 will be released in the US on Starz at 8/7c on Friday, May 19, 2023.
Thankfully, the break between episodes 8 and 9 is only two weeks as Power Book 2 will not be airing on May 12.
The break between episodes comes as little surprise as Starz will be hoping to build anticipation ahead of the final episodes in the season as well as to give fans who are behind on the series the opportunity to catch up.
In terms of its title, episode 9 is set to be called A Last Gift while the official synopsis for the upcoming chapter reads:
“Tariq scrambles to get ahead of information that could incriminate the drug organization and jeopardize his family’s safety. The feds double down and set their sights on a new target to aid their investigation.”
How many episodes in total?
Season 3 of Power Book 2: Ghost will consist of 10 episodes in total.
This amount should come as little surprise to veteran fans of the series as it mirrors the number of episodes in both seasons 1 and 2.
However, following the short break after episode 8, there are just two episodes left until the season reaches its conclusion.
The full schedule for season 3 of Power Book 2: Ghost has been as follows:
- Your Perception, Your Reality | March 17
- Need vs Greed | March 24

- No More Second Chances | April 14
- Land Of Lies | April 21
- Deal Or No Deal | April 28
- Sacrifice | May 5

While season 3 is almost at its end, fans will be pleased to know that Power Book 2 has already been renewed for season 4, with the announcement coming in January 2023, before season 3 had even started.
Couple that with the ongoing spin-offs, Book 3: Raising Kanan and Book 4: Force, it’s a great time to be a Power fan.

Power book ii: ghost season 3 episode 9 review: a last gift.
Even in death, Cooper Saxe chose VIOLENCE.
A series of letters found their way all over the country on Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 9 , and they were all designed to bring Tariq down, which was a pretty bold move by Mr. Saxe. Who knows how long this plan was in the making, but the ramifications of those letters will last for a very long time.
And Tariq may be in more danger than ever before.
This was vintage Power Book II: Ghost in that it was just non-stop intrigue, deception, and crazy from start to finish.
And it may be the best hour of the season.
Tariq was running all over the city, trying to save himself from the RICO, and it was wild watching him jump from one thing to another. But he didn’t have a choice, as he could feel the walls closing on him.
When Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 started, it was essentially him, Effie, and Brayden against the world, but once Tariq found out they betrayed him, he really was on his own. And he’s been trying to do things on his own now, but he would always need help.
The only person Tariq has been able to count on over the last few years was Brayden. And he needed Brayden here, even if their relationship was strained.
Even though they made a deal with Lucas, the threat of him knowing about the drug dealings through Weston Holdings was too much to let sly. He needed to go, and Tariq, quite frankly, didn’t have the time to do it himself.
For a trust fund baby, Brayden has proven over and over again to be a valuable asset when needed. He’s stepped into some pretty dangerous situations and handled himself. But he’s never been able to step in and put a bullet through someone’s head with the careless ease with which Tariq and Cane do it.
But he’s about the life, right? He can run the drugs and get his hands dirty, but there’s always been a limit with Brayden. A line he couldn’t find within himself to cross.
He’s had a front-row seat to Tariq’s descent into madness, and while he’s seemingly okay with Tariq doing the killing, he hasn’t wanted to get to that level. But hasn’t he figured out by now that in life, it’s ALWAYS going to come to that?
On the one hand, Brayden made some excellent points about wanting to keep a shred of his humanity intact and not become the kind of person who could callously murder their own father, no matter how bad he was.
But the minute Brayden decided that he was going to commit crimes and try to get away with it, he had to know the day would come when he’d have to make a decision that tested his moral compass.
Everyone has had to do it. And it’s not so much about saving yourself sometimes as it is about protecting the people you care about. The people who care about you. The people who have your back.
Lucas was family, but Lucas didn’t have his back. He was ready to not just throw him under the bus but make sure it rolled back over him for good measure. He was only ever going to save himself, and once he put that out into the universe, Brayden found the thing within himself he needed to catch his first body.
Brayden: Dad, you don’t have to do this. Robert: If not me, then who? Brayden, sometimes doing the hard thing is the only thing we can do. Permalink: If not me, then who? Brayden, sometimes doing the hard thing is the only thing we can do.
The threat of him and Tariq going down and Robert, who was genuinely innocent, and Kiki, someone he’d grown to care for, gave him the moxy to kill. And he’s never going to be the same again.
Brayden never wanted to turn into Tariq, but he should have thought about the first time he decided what direction to take his life in.
Killing Lucas was something Tariq was ready to do, but that death was just a pitstop on a long day for Tariq.
Tariq was worried about Tasha after listening to Saxe’s message, but his hands were also tied because he didn’t know if Saxe was bluffing or if the threat was actually real.
It wasn’t until 2-Bit came creeping out of the shadows with another one of those Saxe letters that Tariq realized just how serious things were.
Leave it to Saxe to try to ruin the St. Patrick’s one last time from beyond the grave. The family that bested him time and time again.
If he was going to die, he wanted to ensure he could bring down a few more people to join him at the cemetery.
Tariq was so unmoved by 2-Bit’s appearance. You could see that he was totally worn out. He could barely find it in himself to talk 2-Bit out of killing him if that’s what he wanted to do.
But 2-Bit, ever the hustler, was looking for a payday, not outdated revenge. And this Tariq was off on his final mission of the day to ensure his family was safe.
When the series started, it appeared at first like it was going to be equal parts Tariq’s story and equal parts Tasha’s story, and it was during Power Book II: Ghost Season 1 , but now it’s Tariq's journey, and the show does a great job of bringing Tasha in during different times when it makes sense.
Now, bringing thee TOMMY EGAN back was something I didn’t see coming here, but it sets an exciting picture for the finale, especially with Tariq knowing that Monet was the one to out Tasha to him.
Tommy has never been one to let anything go, and his beef with Tasha runs very deep. Remember LaKeisha?
Tommy made that trek from Chicago to kill Tasha once and for all, but he wasn’t anticipating another showdown with Tariq.
Thinking back to how Power started, would you have ever imagined a scenario where Tommy would be ready to kill Tasha AND Tariq?
What was once a solid bond has been irrevocably broken, and there’s too much pain and guilt to mend it. But even with all that pain and distance, it’s still ‘Uncle Tommy’ for Tariq, and it’s still love that he feels for him because it’s all he’s ever known.
Though it would not stop him from shooting Tommy right between the eyeballs if he hadn’t gotten knocked out first.
The only person who reasonably could have knocked him out would have been Tasha, but why? With Tommy momentarily distracted, he had a shot. And a dead Tommy would be good for her since he wants to kill her and everything.
But there must be a reason why she felt it was better to keep Tommy alive, which will hopefully play out in the finale when she’s found! Assuming Tommy doesn’t actually kill her.
Tariq was bouncing from one place to another and putting one plan in motion here and another in motion there, and he had no idea that the Tejadas were the ones he should probably be the most worried about.
When anyone gets in trouble on this series, the first words out of their mouth always seem to be Tariq. And it’s funny because how many times have we witnessed Tariq’s resourcefulness and ability to weasel his way out of a problematic situation?
He’s not new to this, and the Tejadas didn’t know Ghost. They didn’t know Kanan or the environment Tariq absorbed when he was younger and helped mold him into the man they know today.
If it’s officially turning into the Tejadas versus Tariq, even with those odds, I’d put my money firmly on Tariq.
And hell, if it comes to that, will the Tejadas even be on the same page?
Evelyn: There’s a video of Dru floating around. Know anything about that? Monet: Do I look like I’m on Youtube? Evelyn: Stop lying, bitch. Monet: Have you lost your fucking mind? Permalink: Have you lost your fucking mind?
It was only a matter of time before Monet’s secret got out, and good on Evelyn for leaving it as her dying declaration. She was about to lose her life, and she wanted her last words to hurt the person not only partly responsible for her death but the one who caused her and her family so much pain.
The Tejada siblings have all been operating independently of each other for a long time, and that was never more clear than when they were trying to piece together why Tariq had that police file and how all the dots connected.
Now, Tariq should have found a better hiding spot than under his bed, but there’s no way he anticipated Diana coming over to accuse him of betraying her and then simultaneously asking if they had a future together.
I don’t blame him for scurrying out of that dorm room because who has time to think about romance when a RICO is hanging over your head!
But finding the police report made Tariq public enemy number 1 to Dru and Diana. Well, maybe number 2, after their mother.
Why do all the best scenes occur in the Tejada dining room? Every season there is a scene that is outlandish and dramatic, always buoyed by Mary J. Blige.
Even when she got caught, Monet didn't slip or even try to apologize for what she did. She wanted revenge for Zeke, plain and simple, and she didn’t care who she hurt to get it.
Monet Tejada doesn't care about her children.
Everything she did was for her.
But now that they know the truth, what do Dru, Diana, and Cane do next? My guess is they go after Tariq and try to get the RICO put on his shoulders, but do they just let Monet get away with everything?
No matter how hurt they feel, that’s still their mother. They wouldn’t take things to THAT level, would they?
It’s not as if we haven’t seen children kill a parent in this universe, but revenge on Monet would make them no different than she is.
With only one more hour to go, buckle in for the end, folks. It looks like the world may be coming for Tariq, and he’s running out of allies.
But when has that ever stopped a St. Patrick?
Everything Else You Need To Know
- Effie still loves Tariq, and she’s not ready to throw him to the wolves, but I’m not sure that will last forever.
- Saxe admitting his feelings for Jenny in that letter had to make her feel terrible, considering their last conversation. But Saxe’s advice wasn’t bad. He spent how much time on the hunt for justice, and look what it got him.
- Jenny and Blanca have lost two people helping them or their case. Do you think that makes them even slightly nervous? They certainly don’t act like it.
- We’re due to see Noma again, and I think she won’t be as willing to work with Tariq as Obi was.
- Speaking of Noma, are they going to revisit her search for Mecca's killer?
- Tariq was so cold-blooded during this hour. He was over Brayden’s complaining and Cane’s jealousy. He was TIRED.
- We all agree that Cane IS jealous of Tariq, though, right?
Finale time is upon us! This season flew by, and with each hour, the tension ramped up more and more.
There are a lot of storylines out there, from finding Tasha and Tommy to seeing if Jenny and Blanca can get this RICO off the ground.
Lots of questions to be answered, so jump in the comment section and let me know what you think will happen next!

50 Cent Reacts After Episodes 9 & 10 Of “Power Book II” Leaks Online
A lot of people didn’t get the memo that a new episode of Power Book Ghost wouldn’t be coming out this week. Apparently, Power Book 2: Ghost Season 3, Episode 9 (“A Last Gift”) is scheduled to drop Friday, May 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Starz. However, somehow, some way, folks were still able to watch it!
Tons of Power fans have been tweeting about the alleged show leak on Twitter with many reacting to some of the wild scenes. One person tweeted, “They done leaked power episode 9 and 10 AND BABY LET ME TELL YALLLLL …ITS SOME SHITTTTTTTTT GOING DOWNN TARIQ & BRAYDEN VS EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #PowerBook2” Another person said, “MY HEART JUST BEAT SO FAST WATCHING EPISODE 9 OF POWER.” A third said, “Power episodes 9 & 10 were the best !! While most people are still holding out and waiting to catch the show on Starz at the scheduled time, Executive producer 50 Cent is not happy about the slip-up… at all. The business mogul took to Instagram and said, “Give it up for the only network that leaks its biggest shows. 👏👏👏great work guys! #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi”

More On 50 Cent’s Issues With The Network
Fif’ has lashed out at the network on numerous occasions. In 2018 he inked a four-year deal with Starz that was reportedly worth up to $150 million. In April 2020, the network greenlit the series Black Mafia Family, the story of Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, two brothers who rise to influence in the drug trade in 1980s Detroit. That same year, his G-Unit Film & Television added two more shows to Starz.
However, things appeared to be Rocky in 2021 after 50 claimed the network was mad at him for accidentally leaking confidential information about Patina Miller’s role on Power Book II: Kanan. However, later that year, 50 called them out over an editing fail in the show. He said at the time, “Starz needs me! It don’t come out right when I’m not involved.” In the caption, he wrote: “EARRINGs, No Earrings EARRINGs, No Earrings, No Earrings EARRINGS. LMAO,” he said referring to a character missing a gold earring in one of the scenes.
That wasn’t all. In November 2021, he labeled Starz “a shit show” after episode seven of Black Mafia Family aired ahead of its scheduled time. In a now-deleted post he said, Starz is a sh** show, they better sell it fast. They put the f****** BMF show on, then took it down. what network does sh** like that? They just ruined the anticipation of The episode I directed, I WORKED HARD ON THIS. I can’t work with these people anymore.” In a follow-up post that featured a still of rapper Eminem playing White Boy Rick in BMF, 50 went on to say, “Episode 7 of BMF is the best work I have done directing to date. I’m disappointed that STARZ handled this so poorly,” he wrote.
In March 2022, he threatened to remove BMF and all of the shows in the Power universe from the network due to behind-the-scenes drama with dealings.
Although things are clearly intense, it’s safe to say that the shows are all a big hit. Socialites, what are your thoughts on this? Sound off in the comment box below!

50 Cent Shades Starz After Episodes 9 & 10 Of ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 Leak Online
50 Cent took to the streets of social media to shade Starz after Episodes 9 and 10 of “ Power Book II: Ghost ” Season 3 leaked online.
Fans of the show were fiending for Episode 9 after learning the network pushed back the release an additional week to May 19.
Watch: ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ Season 3 Episode 9 (First Look)
By noon, folks were going ham, bologna, and cheese on Twitter after the episodes leaked online.
What I found to be eyebrow-raising was the fact that the leaked episodes were apparently crystal clear.
One person tweeted:
Why the leaks so crystal clear tho? lmao
Like when Raina died (first power leak I ever saw) it was ashy. When Tariqu killed Ghost leaked ashy. lmao
But, these better than my Starz app picture.
See the original tweet below.

50 Cent is convinced the network leaked the episodes.
He took to Instagram writing, “Give it up for the only network that leaks its biggest shows. 👏👏👏great work guys! #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi “
See his original post below.

50 Cent has been sick and tired of Starz.
Last month, he blasted the network for dropping the ball on his NFL powerbroker series.
The series reportedly centers on the life of Nicole Lynn , the power agent of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts , who signed a mega deal worth nearly $255 million.
In the now-deleted post, Fiddy wrote, “Nicole Lynn is no joke I told Starz, they didn’t listen. They paid for development then had a change of heart. Now you know I’m gonna sell this show in no time. GLG GreenLightGang I don’t miss.”
Thanks to the leak, social media is now a landmine of spoilers and I’ve been tiptoeing through trying not to get bombed.
Read a few Twitter reactions to the leak below.

Who do you think is responsible for the leaked episodes? 50 Cent? Starz? A disgruntled writer (considering they’re on strike)?
