5 stars all round. The boat is in immaculate condition and Bill is a wonderful captain and person to be around during your sail. Bill went above and beyond to make sure our trip was special, going far out of our way (and extending the time of our sail at no extra cost) so we could catch up to a group of playful dolphins in the distance. We ended up having one of the best boat trips, saw the most dolphins I’ve ever seen, and overall had a blast. Sailing with Bill is a must - don’t think twice!!

We had a wonderful experience! Eric made my boyfriend’s birthday extra special with loads of dolphin and whale sightings. The sailboat is beautiful and well maintained. Everything was spectacular and communication couldn’t have been easier. Hope to enjoy another sunset cruise with Eric again!

Captain Bill made our experience the most beautiful part of saying goodbye to my daughter. He made the hardest part of my trip, the best part. Thanks Captain Bill. ⛵️

Yes. We use a system called Cognito to ensure that payment information matches the renter's identity. We also require renters taking out a captained boat to be at least 18 years old and on a bareboat to be at least 25 years old.

Is listing my boat on Boatsetter free?

Yes! Listing a boat is completely free. We only take a commission when your boat is rented. We only make money when you do!

What if I'm not comfortable having a renter drive my boat?

If you are not comfortable having a renter drive your boat, we have an expansive network of licensed and experienced captains. Once your boat is listed, you can filter through our network of captains and favorite captains in your area that you would like to operate your boat.

Ocean Adventures, Inc. launches 2nd Whale and Dolphin Excursion vessel in Oceanside, California on March 26, 2024, Oceanside, CA

Passengers will be able to board NALA, the newly launched state-of-the-art catamaran owned and operated by Oceanside Adventures with an original designed hull by internationally renowned marine life artist Wyland. The new vessel was custom built by Copper Marine in Florida for Oceanside Adventures and will be the 2nd boat for the Oceanside Adventures company owned by the Hansen Family to operate from Oceanside Harbor. Oceanside Adventures first launched operations from Oceanside Harbor in July of 2015 with its unique 47 foot custom catamaran also built by Copper Marine in Florida.

OUR SIGNATURE VESSEL - OCEANSIDE ADVENTURES

Oceanside Adventures vessel is a  50 foot beautifully equipped, wheelchair accessible, one level, fast Catamaran  built by Cooper Marine in Florida. This US Coast Guard inspected Catamaran is perfect for optimal viewing during the San Diego whale watching season; we have both covered and non covered areas and seating throughout. Get up-close and personal with the marine life we may see minutes away from  Oceanside Harbor .

There are no steps from the parking lot to the check in counter and onto the boat so our vessel is easily accessible. Each trip is narrated by an expert Captain, a certified naturalist who loves Whales and Dolphin just like you do.

Come out with us for an AWE inspiring adventure of Dolphin and Whale Watching in Oceanside. Our trips are 2 hours and are great for families, couples, private parties and corporate events; for anyone and everyone who loves the ocean or the wildlife.

Oceanside, CA- May 21, 2019 – Renowned environmental artist WYLAND just finished designing a custom wrap for the Oceanside Adventures Luxury Catamaran.

Wyland, a champion for the ocean environment depicts a mother and her baby humpback whale with bottlenose dolphin in the kelp forest, sprinkled with garibaldi, the official state marine fish of California.

Not only does the boat look sharp, it has just been re-powered with two new Suzuki 350 outboard motors by Cal-Kona Marine, Inc in Oceanside, CA. “This will provide us with more speed allowing us to cover a wider area for our 2 hour Whale & Dolphin Cruises” says Captain Shane Hansen.

What an amazing experience to be out on the water! The boat is beautiful! Captian Eric is a gracious host: serving us snacks, educating us on the vessel, letting us help raise sails and participate as much as we wanted ... or let us relax and breathe in the sea air. He found us a pod of dolphins and got us so close we could hear them taking breaths! Was amazing to see all the babies and their playful jumps. Go sail with Captian Eric! You won't regret it. I can't wait to go again.

Captain Eric created an amazing experience for our sunset cruise! We saw a beautiful Fin Whale and spent a good 20-30 minutes moving around to follow him. At sunset when we got back to the harbor we had a pod of dolphins playing with us. He gave us time to throw flowers in the sea to honor our mom. He provided a little charcuterie, water, sparkling water, and blankets. The boat is beautiful. Captain Eric shared stories of his experiences, while also playing great tunes for us. It was perfect!

Captain Eric and his First Mate, Nate, showed us a wonderful time sailing out of Oceanside Harbor. We highly recommend the Captain and his classic sailing ship! My family & I chartered the boat primarily to disperse my mother's ashes. Although this was a somewhat sad experience for us, Captain Eric could not have been more helpful and empathetic. He even provided a bucket for that purpose. Nate's hors d'oeuvres and the champagne were top notch quality and most appreciated. (Not one of the seven in our party experienced motion sickness.) We also appreciated the Captain's willingness to take pictures of our group. He had shared lots of interesting "sea stories. His love for his boat, and the care he devotes to it, really shines through. All in all, our morning was a relaxing & pleasant experience thanks to Captain Eric & Nate!

We met Captain Eric for a sunset cruise in November. He was very accommodating with champagne and charcuterie ready and waiting for us. He is very friendly and informative. He will let you heal sail the boat or relax with your loved ones, your choice. His boat is beautiful, and you can tell it is special to him as he proudly speaks of the efforts he puts into it to maintain and restore its beauty. We had a very nice day for the sail as he took us out on the open sea along the Oceanside coast. I would highly recommend his charter and will be enjoying it again on our visit planned for next year.

We had an amazing sunset sailing experience with Captain Eric! He has a beautifully maintained sailing vessel. He made the birthday event for my 91-year-old mother incredibly special! Highly recommend!!! Thank you!

Chartered a trip with Captain Eric for a work event a few months ago. I wanted to treat my hard working team to something special and it was such a wonderful sunset sail! Free parking was plentiful and Captain Eric provided beverages and delicious snacks for us to enjoy. It was a relaxing, beautiful, and educational time! He shared with us about sailing to Hawaii and about various aspects of the boat as well. We had the best time and I'm not sure how to top this for our next work event! I guess we'll definitely have to come back again soon!

We had a lovely sailing cruise with captain Eric and captain Gene. Me and my party of 6 did the 3 hour sail. The sail boat was beautiful, clean and both Captain Eric and Captain Gene were knowledgeable, friendly, and took really good care of us. Despite picking a 3pm sail time where the winds were not ideal, they took us out anyway and we got to enjoy the ocean breeze and even saw a few seals. Onboard they provided champagne, some snacks (pistachio, cheeses, grapes) and even allowed us to bring our own wine on board. The sail boat had blankets to sit on/lay down and they even let a couple of us sail the boat! They were also extremely accommodating with us bringing our small dog which I am so grateful for. We are so delighted to have found Pura sailing and look forward to coming back to Oceanside to sail with them again. Book now, you won't regret it!

Pura Vida sailing charters is a fantastic way to spend some time on the water. We have done multiple charters with Captain Eric. Each one has been unique, but equally memorable and wonderful. Most recently we took part in the Oceanside Christmas boat parade. Although it's the only time we have been on the boat with other parties as well, it was a wonderful group of people. I would highly recommend to anyone. He'll even teach you a lot about sailing and let you steer the boat!

A 16-year-old girl was buried neck-deep in sand after a hole she was digging at mission beach collapsed on her tuesday afternoon.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department lifeguards received a call around 5 p.m. that a 16-year-old girl had been trapped in a hole dug by a group of teenagers about 8 to 10 feet deep near Ocean Front Walk north of Lifeguard Tower 13.

“She was up to her armpits and her friends tried to dig her out but sand kept falling in since the hole wasn’t wide,” Fire-Rescue spokesperson Mónica Muñoz said Wednesday.

First responders called to the scene worked quickly to make the hole wider to prevent the girl from being further buried, Muñoz said.

After a few minutes, the girl was removed from the hole.

The teen was not injured and later released to a guardian, Muñoz said.
