Motor Yacht BIG JOY Now for Sale with Northrop & Johnson

The 89-foot (27.18m) motor yacht BIG JOY is now for sale with Northrop & Johnson’s yacht broker Jaap Havenga . The yacht is priced at €4,950,000 and is VAT paid.

BIG JOY was launched by Arkin Pruva Yachts in 2018. She was fully customized by her owner who used the yacht for cruising with family and friends. BIG JOY welcomes guests across four decks. Her spacious interior is thanks to a wide beam that offers a level of volume not often seen on yachts in this size range. The hull of BIG JOY is made from a safe and seaworthy epoxy composite with fiberglass.

Contemporary style and minimalist design are used aboard BIG JOY to create a welcoming and comfortable design aesthetic. Beautiful gray tones are used throughout. The beautiful parquet floors are found in the salon and all the guest areas. The main salon is outfitted with seating and customized furniture. This deck also has a large table for formal dining as well as a bar and wine storage. The galley is a social space with its island counter and breakfast corner. The master stateroom is located on the bridge deck as is the helm position with two captain’s chairs and a sofa. The outdoor areas on this deck are for the use of the master stateroom and comprise a sunbathing area aft and a comfortable seating area forward. The flybridge deck is fitted with seats, table, sofa, wet bar, grill, sunbathing area and a fixed sun awning with a sliding roof as well as a steering position.

BIG JOY accommodates up to eight guests in four staterooms. These staterooms include a master cabin with a king-size bed on the bridge deck and three double staterooms located on the lower deck. All staterooms aboard BIG JOY have en-suite bathrooms. The yacht’s one crew cabin accommodates two crewmembers.

Alfresco living aboard BIG JOY truly is a joy. This yacht is perfectly suited for enjoying the on-water lifestyle. The main aft deck has a spacious U-shaped seating area that surrounds a table where guests can enjoy their meals. The master cabin and its adjacent outdoor private areas are located on the bridge deck. BIG JOY is outfitted with a tender garage for tenders and toys as well as with a dedicated Jet Ski storage area.

Arkin Pruva motor yacht Big Joy now for sale with Northrop & Johnson

The 27.1 metre Arkin Pruva motor yacht Big Joy has had a central agency change and is now listed for sale by Jaap Havenga at Northrop & Johnson .

Built in GRP by Turkish yard Arkin Pruva , she was delivered in 2018 as a Future Line model. She offers luxurious accommodation for eight guests in four cabins including a spacious master suite on the bridge deck alongside a sauna plus a further three double cabins, all with entertainment centres and en suite bathroom facilities.

The main saloon is accessed via full-height glass doors and beyond the bar counter and open-plan lounge there is a formal dining area. The lounge offers L-shaped seating to starboard facing an entertainment centre including a large screen television set and stereo surround sound system.

Her broker comments: “She offers exceptional volume for a yacht of this size thanks to the wide beam and four decks. She boasts generous exterior deck space, a stern garage for the tender and toys, and a separate jet ski garage.”

Twin MAN 1,400hp diesel engines allow a cruising speed of 12 knots topping out at 19 knots.

Big Joy is asking €4,950,000 with VAT paid.

Kremlin Joy as Trump Sucks Up to Controversial Russian ‘Tough Guys’

Donald Trump is lavishing praise on “Putin’s friend” Khabib Nurmagomedov, a controversial MMA star who also happens to be Russia’s top influencer.

The Russian media is shouting it from the rooftops. Not only did former President Donald Trump publicly meet with two of the country’s toughest men, pro-Kremlin outlets report he pledged to help Russia end the war in Ukraine.

The claim emerged from Trump’s unexpected meeting with notorious Russian UFC stars—and “ Putin’s friends”—Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev. The controversial MMA fighters took the opportunity to talk international diplomacy with the former—and possibly future—leader of the free world.

Trump “promised Nurmagomedov to stop the war in Ukraine,” according to news reports trumpeted by major Russian news agencies and television channels.

President Vladimir Putin outlined the kind of ludicrously one-sided settlement it would take for him to call a ceasefire just last week, and the Kremlin hopes Trump will try to bully Ukraine into accepting it if he is re-elected in November.

Russian outreach is now focused on encouraging Trump to do just that. And, of course, the Kremlin will do whatever it can to help him win.

The meeting in New Jersey between Trump and the UFC stars was labelled “historic” by the Russian media and it opens yet another potential backchannel between Trump and Putin.

“We are very proud that our heroes go to America, meet with the future President Trump and that he promises them to finish the war in Ukraine,” Magomed, a former law enforcement official from Dagestan, told The Daily Beast. “Putin must be very happy, he has fatherly feelings for Khabib.”

Nurmagomedov is the most-followed Russian on Instagram. He was named Russia’s No.1 athlete in 2019 before retiring from UFC without ever suffering a defeat (29-0) and has remained hugely popular despite regular controversies.

The fighter from Dagestan, a republic inside Russia, was banned for nine months after sparking a brawl in Las Vegas after beating Connor McGregor and then leaping out of the octagon to attack members of the Irishman’s team. Nurmagomedov later said they had insulted his religion. He is a follower of Islam, who reportedly has an “ultra-conservative worldview,” which has led to him speaking out against nightclubs and risqué plays back home. Nurmagomedov and Makhachev, who is also from Dagestan, have both claimed that women should not be allowed to compete in UFC.

The two men, who are met at the airport by adoring fans when they return to Dagestan—where women are not allowed to sit down for a meal with men and where parents still practice the genital mutilation of young girls—also both use the Islamic raised index finger gesture that was co-opted by ISIS in their propaganda material.

“Both Makhachev and Khabib can be seen with that gesture—it symbolizes the belief in the oneness of God,” Alexander Cherakov, a human rights defender at the Nobel Peace Prize winning Memorial told The Daily Beast. “That is a gesture Salafi or Wahhabi Muslims show in Northern Caucuses, which would mean nothing to Trump of course—he just sees two tough guys, he thinks of himself as of a tough guy and hopes they would pass his messages to more Russian tough guys.”

Fundamentalist Salafi and Wahhabi preaching is considered extremism by the Russian authorities and there has been a crackdown by the Kremlin over the past decade but that has not stopped Putin cozying up to the athletes.

Soon after Nurmagomedov’s controversial victory over McGregor, Putin invited the No.1 ranked fighter to meet him and backed his riot-inducing misbehavior. “If we are attacked from the outside, all of us can jump out like that,” he explained. The two men embraced, much like Trump did this month, posing for photographs side by side with their hands clasped together.

Putin personally called Khabib in 2020 after his father died, allegedly from COVID-19, at the age of 57. Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov had trained Khabib since childhood, including having him wrestle a bear cub from the age of 9 in remarkable footage which has since gone viral online. His father, a Russian military veteran who raised his son in the mountainous back woods of the Caucuses, went on to train Makhachev as his boy’s successor.

Putin has long cultivated the habit of hanging out with young tough guys in order to bolster his own macho image, and Trump has clearly picked up the classic “strongman” trope.

Since his meeting with Nurmagomedov, Trump has been lavishing him with praise, describing him on Truth Social as “probably the Greatest Fighter of All Time. I met him at the UFC event on Saturday night in New Jersey. A really smart guy - Big things in the future for Khabib!”

He returned to the subject last week on Logan Paul’s podcast. “I thought he was great. We got to speak, he’s just about my favorite guy. Really talented.”

Grigory Shvedov, Russia-based editor-in-chief of Caucasus Knot, says that Khabib “is very influential, he is a thought leader.” He explained that the Kremlin pays close attention to people like Makhachev and Nurmagomedov “so they would not have any critical attitude for the authorities.” The KGB was always sure to cultivate a close, controlling relationship with any Russian athletes who rose to the international level and it is certain that the FSB now does similar with the current generation of global sports stars. It is unknown whether that relationship would stretch as far as asking them to pass on messages to people like Trump.

The Dagestani icons are also close to the notorious warlord who leads the neighboring Russian republic og Chechnya. Ramzan Kadyrov, also known as “Putin’s Soldier,” is the most violent and brutal leader in the Northern Caucasus and has been accused of countless human rights abuses, anti-LGBT purges, and the oppression of his people.

Kadyrov loves to hang out with the fighters for pictures in his marble palace in Grozny, and has handed over gifts such including a Mercedes S-Class.

The meeting took place at UFC 302, which is managed by Trump’s friend Dana White. At a time when Russian athletes are banned from taking part in the Paris Olympics, Makhachev was top of the bill at the June 2 event.

Much like Trump, White clearly doesn’t see Putin as an enemy. He previously said Putin “would be more than welcome to come” to a UFC event in Moscow.

• My fiancé and I splurged on a trip to Monaco for our very first Formula 1 Grand Prix.
• For about $20,980, we stayed in Nice, France , and attended the races all weekend.
• We also attended a luxurious yacht party and soaked in views of Monaco during the race.

My fiancé and I saved up to celebrate our recent engagement in style during one of the year's most iconic, expensive weekends: the Formula 1 (F1) Monaco Grand Prix.

The F1 Monaco Grand Prix is an annual race for drivers in the highest class of international racing for single-seater formula cars.

Though the sport is popular in Europe, it gained the attention of international audiences with the release of Netflix's Formula 1 documentary series, "Drive to Survive." In a 2022 poll from Morning Consult , 53% of nearly 1,900 F1 fans said the series contributed to their interest in the sport.

However, we've been dedicated F1 fans long before the series launched in 2019, and have always considered the Monaco Grand Prix the best race on the calendar.

Like many fans, we were willing to splurge to see some of our favorite drivers and were excited to attend the event this past May. We purchased a package from F1 Experiences for £15,220, or about $19,370, with a $1,610 yacht party add-on. The package for my partner and me included a hotel stay , two days of live racing, and transportation to and from the event.

From an unbelievable balcony view of the racetrack to cheering on a historic win, here's what the experience was like.

We stayed at a hotel in Nice, France.

We stayed four nights at the Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée on the French Riviera, a 30-to-40-minute drive from Monaco.

Our hotel-room balcony overlooked the stunning Côte d'Azur region, and we were within walking distance of Nice's historic and charming old town.

We prepared for the high-energy weekend by celebrating at a yacht party.

To fully experience the glamorous lifestyle in Monaco, we indulged in a yacht party on Friday night. This experience was an add-on to our overall package, and it cost £1,265, or about $1,610.

We boarded the boat and were greeted with glasses of Champagne. The bottomless drinks and canapés flowed as the onboard DJ pumped music, drowning out the sounds of nearby boats.

As dusk turned to nightfall, the partygoers seemed to buzz with anticipation for the excitement the weekend had to offer — and we couldn't wait.

On Saturday, I was excited to finally attend the main event, the Grand Prix. 

On Saturday, we boarded a coach bus to Monaco and headed to the Ermanno Penthouse to watch the race. There, we climbed up 12 flights of stairs for a taste of Monégasque luxury.

The Penthouse's balcony terrace — overlooking the Port Hercules marina, stacked with at least 250 yachts — gave us an unbelievable panoramic view of Monaco's shimmering blue coastline and at least two-thirds of the racetrack.

From our viewpoint, we could see the start and finish line, up the hill toward the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the racetrack's tunnel exit, around the marina, and even the champions' podium. 

We felt the thrill of the race from our balcony.

Saturday's qualifying session was electrifying. Throughout the day, we saw the Formula 3 and Formula 2 sprint races, which typically feature aspiring F1 drivers . Then, we saw the F1 free practice three, which served as a practice round for F1 drivers to fine-tune their skills.

Lastly, we saw the F1 qualifying race, which determined each driver's place on the grid for Sunday's event.

I did notice, however, that my fiancé and I seemed to be two of the very few true F1 fans on the balcony. Many of our neighbors appeared to be new to the sport and seemed more interested in selfies or sparkling wine.

We enjoyed food and drinks as well.

Not only could we see much of Monaco from the balcony, but also we enjoyed warm hospitality from the staff.

The staff members served various snacks and offered as much Champagne, spirits, and soft drinks as we wanted. For breakfast, we had croissants and pain au chocolat with coffee, followed by finger sandwiches, sliders, canapés, and tasty desserts.

We even had a few celebrity sightings.

Celebrating the same event as A-list celebrities like John Legend , Anya Taylor-Joy, and Kylian Mbappé felt like a real pinch-me moment — though we only caught glimpses of them in the VIP area on TV screens showing sports coverage, the same way viewers would see them on television.

The celebrities at the Grand Prix, which took place just after the star-studded Cannes Film Festival, made it feel like the spot to be.

We saw a race-car collision from our balcony.

Unfortunately, the weekend wasn't all positive. During the first lap of Sunday's F1 race, we saw a massive crash involving several drivers who couldn't continue in the event.

On a more positive note, we saw our favorite driver win the Grand Prix.

The highlight of the weekend was cheering Ferrari F1 driver and Monégasque Charles Leclerc on to his first-ever victory at the Monaco Grand Prix.

As Leclerc's bright-red Ferrari zoomed by with a clear lead on his last lap, a symphony of boats blared their horns, and the crowd erupted in cheers. Leclerc is also the first Monégasque driver to win the race in over 90 years.

We watched the Champagne showers and celebrations on the podium, and my fiancé and I shared a kiss (and a few happy tears). It was the perfect end to an unforgettable weekend.

Overall, we were so glad we got to attend the Monaco Grand Prix.

Overall, attending the Grand Prix in person was worth the money for us. We saw our favorite driver achieve a historic F1 milestone on a legendary track along a beautiful European coastline.

Though I wouldn't say it's worth the splurge for those who don't follow F1, plenty of guests on our balcony were there for the vibes, the flowing drinks, and the lush atmosphere.

We'd consider attending another F1 Grand Prix in the future. Still, our first taste of Monaco had our hearts racing — and the experience will be incredibly tough to top.
