Watch: Kai Havertz trolls Spurs after North London Derby with A.I. video on Twitter

Kai Havertz is a confirmed internet troll.

Title-racing Arsenal maintained their lead atop of the league table after defeating Spurs in yet another edition of the London Derby on Sunday. Three first-half goals by the Gunners sealed their eventual 3-2 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In celebration, the scorer of the third goal for the Gunners and who has also been in incredible form this April, Kai Havertz, took the joy of defeating Spurs to social media, trolling their rivals in the most hilarious way possible. Artificially hilarious, if we may.

Kai Havertz trolls Spurs with Lil Yachty A.I. video

Following his goalscoring victory against Tottenham in the North London Derby, Havertz posted a video on X with the caption “Mood” where, with the help of artificial intelligence, replaces famous American rapper Lil Yachty in one of his viral concert entrances with hit song “Coffin.”

The result? An iconic video that is to be used by Arsenal fans for years to come.

He indeed put Spurs in a “Coffin” (we tried).

His latest goal in the North London Derby makes it seven goal contributions (four goals and three assists) for the German in April and his third goal in the last two games against city-rival clubs.

Enjoying life at the Emirates.

Doing what he does best Lukaku had cut a frustrated figure in the first half. Shortly into the second, however, Kai Havertz crossed from the left and the Belgian headed home from close range for his second goal of UAE 2021. Veiga handles the pressure It was arguably the biggest game in Palmeiras’s imperial history. The Palmeirenses were in Abu Dhabi en masse. They were 1-0 down. When they got a penalty, though, their No23 didn’t hesitate. Up he duly stepped to equalise with aplomb.

A Blue for the big occasion Already assured of a place in history as Chelsea's match-winner in the UEFA Champions League final, Kai Havertz cemented his place in Blues folklore by securing the club's first world title. The German stepped up with 117 minutes on the clock to beat Weverton from the spot, albeit narrowly, just as a shootout appeared inevitable.

Earlier this season when Kai Havertz was struggling to make a consistent impact on games, it was fair to question precisely what he was.

Was he a natural No 8? Not really. Was he a natural No 9? Definitely not. Where was his place in this system? What was he offering?

That seems a long time ago. Stylistically, Havertz is something in between those roles and on Sunday, he was both.

Few No 9s in the Premier League are capable of dropping deep and spraying the wonderful diagonal ball out to Saka for Arsenal’s second goal. And few No 8s would be capable of ghosting into the six-yard box unmarked and nodding home from a corner for Arsenal’s third of the game.

Havertz’s aerial ability also proved useful when Arsenal wanted to go long, particularly in the opening stages when Tottenham were trying to press, and won a couple of important headers inside his own box when Arsenal were defending set pieces — an area where they’d looked vulnerable in the early stages.

Other striking options — Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah — offer something different. But in this form, Havertz is undroppable.

Charlie Eccleshare

Were Tottenham unlucky?

Were Tottenham unlucky?

The first half of this game was really strange. You could be forgiven for imagining Tottenham had been outplayed. Or that they’d been in the game but were naively caught out on the break.

Tottenham were right in the contest and were extremely close to equalising on three occasions in the 12 minutes between falling behind and Saka making it 2-0.

Put it this way, they’ve played much worse on occasions this season but been ahead at half-time. That said, they’ve struggled defending set pieces all season and this is an area they have to improve in.

In open play, Dejan Kulusevski was particularly impressive, giving the Arsenal defenders a really difficult time and fully justifying his selection. With better finishing and a bit more luck, they wouldn’t have left themselves with such a mountain to climb.

Art de Roché

Another quick start key for Arsenal

Another quick start key for Arsenal

Arsenal extended their record as the Premier League’s most potent force in the opening 15 minutes, when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg directed Bukayo Saka’s corner goalbound.

It was their 12th goal in that period of a Premier League game this season, the most in the division, with Tottenham’s 10 the second highest.

Those fast starts have been crucial to Arsenal’s title charge in the second half of the season specifically, with just three of those goals coming in the first 19 league games.

Equally important was the fact their opener came from a set piece. It was their 20th set-piece goal of the season, also the most in the Premier League, and allowed them to capitalise on their best period of the opening 15 minutes.

Aside from those five minutes, Tottenham were on top. That is why having a routine of having players start at the far post to come to the near post, with Benjamin White causing confusion with the goalkeeper, can be so important. It opens games up and gives them a platform for more.

The same was the case for Kai Havertz’s 38th-minute goal. The corner came from the other side, but White stayed on Guglielmo Vicario while his team-mates ran across the six-yard box. The combination of these actions created enough chaos for Arsenal to claim their 21st set-piece goal of the season.

Get the Briefing as Arsenal trump Spurs

So the title race remains on and Tottenham's hopes for a top-four spot take a hit.

Arsenal deserved their north London derby win while Tottenham may consider themselves unlucky after some big moments in the first half.

We've got all the reaction and analysis you need from Art de Roche , Charlie Eccleshare and Michael Cox on the way to break down the action.

Saka: Maybe we draw that last season

Saka: Maybe we draw that last season

The smile was radiating from Bukayo Saka 's face as he spoke to Sky Sports after that. Here's what he said:

💬 "That last 20 minutes wasn’t nice but it was worth it. We know it’s a big derby and they don’t want to lose 3-0 at home. Once they got one the crowd was up, they were up.

"The momentum shifted their way but I’m proud of all the boys. We fought to the end and got the three points.

"We just needed to be calm. Everything was quite frantic but we showed our level heads at the end and got the win. It was a very nice moment at the end with the fans. We know what it means to them and what it means to us, so we are delighted.

"We’ve got three games to go and we are going to give it everything and see where it leaves us.

"Maybe last season that game could have ended in a draw but we showed we have the experience now. We can come here and get three points, even when the stakes are high and it’s a massive game."

  • Possession: 62% - 38%

  • Big chances: 4 - 3

Maybe it really was more even than it felt at times, but that just adds to the satisfaction Arsenal will feel at earning their 25th win of the season.

Look what it means

Look what it means

North London is red - I believe that's the saying.

The celebrations were real from Arsenal after the final whistle - and as Bukayo Saka just said, they now get onto the bus, watch Manchester City on their ipads and hope for the best.

A case of what if for Spurs

A really strange game. Arsenal didn't do loads to be 3-0 up, Spurs didn't do all that much to make it 3-2.

Tottenham will be so annoyed at themselves for giving away those first-half goals.

James McNicholas

Only one thing mattered

What a silly, silly game. This fixture is frequently ludicrous.

Lots to talk about there. But at this stage of the season, all that mattered was the right result.

Another derby classic

What a brilliant game of football and north London derby. The tempo rarely dipped below frantic, despite Arsenal's best efforts to control it.

You can see why Tottenham are short of the best Premier League sides, and why Arsenal are going to go extremely close to the title this season - if indeed, they don't win it.

Over to you, Manchester City.

The Kai Havertz transformation will continue at the scene of his greatest moment

‌Kai Havertz owns a replica of the Champions League trophy, given to him as a gift by his partner, Sophia. It sits on a white plinth, upon which there is a graphic depicting the greatest goal of the German’s career: his winning strike for Chelsea in the Champions League final of 2021 .

‌No matter what happens to him in the rest of his professional life, Havertz will always have this moment. The replica is a permanent reminder that, for one night at least, he stood atop the footballing world. It is an achievement that no one can ever take away from him.

‌But this is not to say that Havertz, now 24, is happy with his lot. He wants more and, as he returns to Porto’s Estadio do Dragao — the scene of his finest victory — he does so with an Arsenal team who have genuine ambitions of winning this season’s Champions League.

‌Only time will tell whether Mikel Arteta’s players have what it takes to go all the way. They will need luck, on the pitch and with injuries, and they will need to show their quality on a consistent basis, starting with Wednesday’s last-16 first leg in Portugal.

‌One thing is certain, though. If Arsenal are to achieve their European goals this season, Havertz will play a key role in that adventure. We know this because he has played a key role in every aspect of Arsenal’s campaign so far, and because Arteta is more convinced than ever that his Havertz project will ultimately work.

‌“I love him,” the Arsenal manager said of Havertz last week. “We all love him, as a player, as a person, for everything that he brings. He is a joy to work with.”

‌Has Arteta spoken to Havertz about his Champions League-winning goal? “I have not,” he said on Tuesday night. “But obviously it is a conversation that has been going on for a few days. It is probably the biggest highlight of his career, an incredible moment.”

‌Havertz’s difficulties at the start of his Arsenal career , following his move from Chelsea, were well-publicised. The spotlight was bright and punishing, and it was not an easy time for a player who is among the more self-reflective in Arsenal’s squad. Havertz would have heard the grumbles. He would have seen the criticism.

‌Those doubters have gradually been silenced in the months that have followed. Havertz’s progress has not been spectacular but it has been steady, and it has been real. Regular observers of Arsenal can see that he is growing in stature and confidence. They can see the player he is becoming.

‌The latest sign of Havertz’s development came in Saturday’s thrashing of Burnley , when he scored Arsenal’s fifth goal. It was a delicious finish, the sort of goal one would expect from a player who cost £65 million.

‌There is no question that Arteta values Havertz’s unique qualities. At times he is a box-to-box runner, at others he is a target man. Arsenal staff have been impressed by the way he covers ground, flitting between roles as games develop.

‌So far this season, Havertz has featured in all but one of Arsenal’s matches. After one goal in his first 19 games for Arsenal, he has since scored five in his past 15. The progress is there for all to see.

‌There were signs in November that Havertz was beginning to find his feet. A poorly timed lunge at Newcastle United was hardly a demonstration of defensive quality, but it did show a competitive spirit that appeared absent in the early weeks of the season. A few weeks later, he scored a last-minute winner at Brentford .

‌At the end of that match at Brentford, Arteta grabbed Havertz round the neck and literally dragged him towards the Arsenal fans. Arteta wanted Havertz to feel the love. Even then Havertz looked a little sheepish, but in recent weeks he has appeared more comfortable.

‌It was always going to take some time for Havertz to adjust to life at Arsenal, perhaps because of his personality as much as his footballing ability. He is not the sort of character to stride through the door on the first day and instantly show himself to be a new leader of the team, as Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko did last season.

‌Havertz is more quiet, more reserved. But now his feet are doing the talking, and he returns to the Estadio do Dragao as a rising force in Arteta’s developing team.

Didi Hamann claims Arsenal need to replace Kai Havertz to finally win the Premier League

author image

Arsenal have came close to winning the title under Mikel Arteta

Didi Hamann believes Arsenal need to sign a new striker to replace Kai Havertz to finally end their wait for a Premier League title.

The Gunners have twice came close to winning the title under Mikel Arteta , finishing five points behind Manchester City in 2022-23 and two points behind the champions last season .

After a difficult start to his Arsenal career following a £65m move from Chelsea last summer , Havertz contributed to the Gunners’ title challenge, scoring 13 goals and making seven assists in the Premier League.

Despite Havertz enjoying a ‘decent end’ to the season, Hamann says the 25-year-old is ‘not a centre forward’ and must be upgraded if Arsenal are serious about winning the title.

Arsenal had expressed interest in signing Benjamin Sesko this summer but the Slovenia striker has decided to sign a contract extension with RB Leipzig .

‘Kai Havertz had a decent end to his season with Arsenal,’ Hamann said on the In The Zone’ podcast .

‘I’ve seen him since he was 17 years old and the kid has always been so good. When I watch him, I sometimes think he probably doesn’t know how good he actually is.

Kai Havertz training with Euro 2024 hopefuls Germany

‘Even though he scored a few goals for Germany now, I just think he’s capable of so much more. But he is not a centre forward and I don’t think he wants to play as a centre forward.

‘He’s 25 and at a stage now in his career where he has to choose his position. He has to nail it down, because he’s playing wherever Arsenal or Germany need him, and he plays there.

‘If Arsenal bring in a centre forward, which they probably have to if they want to win the league, it’ll be very interesting to see where Havertz plays or if he plays.’

Havertz got on the scoresheet in Germany’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Scotland in the first game of Euro 2024 .

The forward will hope to continue to impress as the Euros hosts face Group A rivals Hungary and Switzerland ahead of what they hope will be a deep run in the knockout stages.

Despite missing out on Sesko, Arsenal could still sign a new striker for Arteta this summer and have been linked with Ivan Toney, Alexander Isak and Ollie Watkins .

Ex-Arsenal star Theo Walcott believes Newcastle United’s Isak or Aston Villa’s Watkins would both be ideal summer signings for the Gunners .

‘Arsenal did great, they competed throughout the whole season and learnt a lot from previous mistakes,’ Walcott told  The Sun .

‘I think what Mikel Arteta has done and the atmosphere at Arsenal is incredible. What we are missing is a striker, and to have that balance on the bench.

‘I’d say that’s the one thing, maybe Mikel didn’t trust his bench as much.

‘I’m looking at someone like an Alexander Isak or an Ollie Watkins who’s been established in the Premier League.

‘We may look abroad but I’m a big believer in someone who is proven in the Premier League.’

The Kai Havertz switch that propelled Germany from confusion to clarity

Julian nagelsmann has transformed germany and, as outlined by richard jolly, made some difficult decisions, including four champions league finalists omitted from the final squad, to inspire optimism for euro 2024, article bookmarked.

The parallels felt uncanny. A Germany team at its lowest ebb for years, having been dispatched ignominiously from the group stages of two of the three previous tournaments, having ditched one manager and parachuted in another, were the hosts with the low expectations. If the 2006 World Cup came to symbolise a national footballing rebirth for Germany, surprise semi-finalists who played endearingly attacking football with a likeable bunch of players, it seemed as though the best-case scenario was for a repeat of sorts in Euro 2024 . But further embarrassment started to look more probable.

Because the 2022 World Cup brought an early exit as in 2018, the ultimate Turniermannschaft discovering the tournament would go on without them. And arguably 2023 was still worse; only partly because of the release of the Amazon documentary of the World Cup campaign in which Hansi Flick tried to motivate his players by comparing them to geese. It wasn’t the major reason why Flick became the first Germany manager to be sacked but it did contribute to rendering him a lame duck.

On the pitch, 2023 brought defeats to Belgium, Poland, Colombia and Japan, a 4-1 loss in Wolfsburg ending Flick’s reign; then, under new manager Julian Nagelsmann , Germany lost to Turkey and Austria. They had been beaten six times in a year; as West Germany, they only lost three times across 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1990.

The loss earlier this year of Franz Beckenbauer, the manager of the 1990 World Cup-winning side, and then Andreas Brehme, scorer of the only goal in the final, underlined that it was another era. And yet subsequent months have suggested renewal is coming rapidly. Germany scored after seven seconds of their opening game of 2024, Florian Wirtz setting them on their way to victory over France. The Netherlands were beaten three days later. June’s results have been less spectacular – a stalemate with Ukraine and a narrow win over Greece – but Nagelsmann, whose appointment had looked a case of him passing time until a club job became available, delivered his vote of confidence in April, signing a contract extension rather than returning to Bayern Munich.

Which may not have been an entirely altruistic step. If the sense in 2006 was that it was not a particularly talented German team, now there should be a very different impression. If the past offers evidence that reports of the demise of German football can be greatly exaggerated, there is a case for arguing that Nagelsmann’s team should kick off as second favourites only to France.

Euro 2024 schedule: Full list of matches and day-by-day fixtures

It is a sign of both Germany’s strength in depth and managerial choices that four Champions League final starters have not even made their squad: Mats Hummels, Emre Can, Julian Brandt and Karim Adeyemi. Nagelsmann has not ducked a decision and if Hummels’ omission reflects concerns over whether an outspoken character would be suited to a role as a squad player, it also underlines the resources at his disposal. At centre-back, in centre midfield, at No 10, Germany are blessed. Antonio Rudiger has been arguably the best centre-back in the Champions League over the last few years and Nico Schlotterbeck was perhaps the finest this season (even if Hummels pipped him to a place in Uefa’s team of the tournament). Jonathan Tah, meanwhile, is a beneficiary of Bayer Leverkusen’s rise.

Kai Havertz celebrates

And from the rubble of a wretched year for Germany, their clubs have provided a platform for a renaissance in the national team. Leverkusen’s astonishing season rendered Wirtz the Bundesliga’s player of the campaign; in turn it meant Brandt could be ignored, with alternative No 10s in Wirtz and Jamal Musiala. Robert Andrich has proved a late bloomer; the defensive midfielder Germany lacked. And another surprise package, Stuttgart, have given Nagelsmann an answer to Germany’s problems at left-back, in Maximilian Mittelstadt.

If his time at Bayern familiarised Nagelsmann with the enduring conundrum of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, the German equivalents of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, he has gone from one extreme – pairing them in the hope it will work – to the other, constructing a midfield with neither. Kimmich has reverted to right-back and Goretzka has been omitted altogether. And if that was facilitated by Toni Kroos’s return from international retirement, it means a classy passer has a chance to sign off in the ultimate style, adding the European Championships in his final match to the Champions League in his last club game. As Ilkay Gundogan walked away from Manchester City with a treble last summer, the captain is an illustration that eloquent German passing midfielders can script their perfect farewells.

Julian Nagelsmann leads training in Herzogenaurach

And perhaps the final verdict will be that Nagelsmann, the youngest manager in the history of the European Championships, has contrived a tale with a happy ending for Germany. If so, it would be a reversal of recent fortunes; perhaps a shift comparable with Kai Havertz ’s, given that he was playing left-back for Nagelsmann in November and is now leading the attack. Perhaps the sight of Havertz at left-back symbolised the confusion surrounding Germany last year. If there now seems some clarity of thought, maybe 2024 will bring back echoes of 2006, another joyous month on home soil. Or perhaps even 1974, a tournament Germany won in Germany.

The pressure was on Kai Havertz’s shoulders on Friday night, tasked with leading the line for Euro 2024 hosts Germany as they took on Scotland in the tournament’s opening game. The Arsenal forward definitely rose to the occasion.

OneFootball Videos

In an inspired first half, Havertz first assisted Jamal Musiala before scoring a penalty of his own. With Germany 3-0 up after 63 minutes, the Arsenal striker was withdrawn to a standing ovation.

Germany went on to score a couple more goals after the substitution, but an Antonio Rudiger own goal denied them a clean sheet and meant the match finished 5-1.

On top of his goal and assist, Havertz won all three of his aerial duels, causing the Scottish defence all sorts of problems.

It was a defence containing Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney , though he’ll be grateful that he was mostly utilised on the left of the three centre-backs, away from Havertz.

Tierney won all of his individual duels and made a couple of key tackles on the night, but Scotland were far outclassed by the hosts on this occasion.

Highlights of the game are available here or below, with Havertz’s assist at the timestamp 0:35 and his goal at 2:14.

Euro 2024 top scorers: Kai Havertz and Jude Bellingham lead early Golden Boot race

G ermany’s attacking stars wasted little time in immediately making it clear that they will be heavily involved in the Golden Boot race at Euro 2024 .

The hosts cruised to a 5-1 win over Scotland in the opening match of the tournament, with Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz all on target inside 45 minutes. Niclas Fullkrug came off the bench and got himself on the scoresheet too, on a perfect night for Germany.

Switzerland full-back Michel Aebischer joined Havertz at the top of the table after one goal and an assist of his own in a 3-1 win over Hungary , with Fabian Ruiz involved in two goals himself in Spain’s routine victory over Croatia.

Harry Kane did not get up and running in England’s win over Serbia , with Jude Bellingham the man on the scoresheet for the Three Lions.

Kylian Mbappe won the Golden Boot at the World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and remains the favourite to pick up the award again this summer, but remains without a single goal at the European Championship in his career. He did force the decisive first-half own goal in France’s opening win over Austria in Group D before suffering a gruesome broken nose late on in the match.

Romelu Lukaku will fancy his chances of regularly finding the scoresheet during the group stage, but had two goals disallowed as Belgium were stunned by Slovakia . Cristiano Ronaldo was denied a goal at a sixth European Championship despite Portugal’s late win over the Czech Republic .

Germany vs Scotland Highlights, Euro 2024: Euro 2024 hosts Germany began their quest for a record fourth Euro title with a comprehensive 5-1 win over 10-man Scotland on Friday. Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala scored inside the opening 20 minutes in Munich and Kai Havertz added a third from the spot before half-time after Ryan Porteous was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Ilkay Gundogan. Substitutes Niclas Fuellkrug and Emre Can were both on target for Germany in the second half, either side of Scotland grabbing a late consolation through an Antonio Rudiger own goal. ( Match Centre )

  • June 15 2024 02:23 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Consolation goal Finally a goal for Scotland and it is an own goal by Antonio Rudiger. • June 15 2024 02:18 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Sane hunts for the goal Leroy Sane has been a live wire since coming on the pitch but his multiple shots have not quite found the target. His latest shot took a slight deflection and was ultimately saved by the Scotland goalkeeper. facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 02:16 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Tomorrow's big games Saturday will see two massive games as Spain take on Croatia while defending champions Italy will begin their title defense against Albania. facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 02:11 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Almost 5-0 Niclas Fullkrug found himself in a brilliant position just in front of the goal and his eventual shot did make its way to the goal. However, it was not allowed as the referee raised the offside flag but it looks like there are more goals in this game. facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 02:05 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Other teams in Group A Switzerland and Hungary are the other two teams in Group A and this result will be a warning to both of them. • June 15 2024 02:03 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Niclas Fullkrug scores What a strike by Niclas Fullkrug and it is 4-0. Gundogan was robbed of the ball but the rebound fell to Fullkrug who musled it into the goal. It is Germany all the way right now! facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 01:59 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Mostly long range efforts The changes has forced Germany to adopt a slightly different offensive shape and that is why the past few attacks were mainly long-range shots. Another one from the Germany defender but it was far away from the target. facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 01:55 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Substitutions Two changes for Germany - Fullkrug replaces Havertz while Sane came in place of Wirtz. facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 01:53 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Big chances go begging It has been all Germany in the second half. Couple of great chances for the hosts but their finishing has not been up to the mark in the past 10 minutes. A good chance from Gundogan was blocked by the defense while Wirtz's long range shot sailed over the goal. facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 01:49 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Waves after waves of attack Germany are not looking to rest on their laurels as they continue to launch attack after attack. • June 15 2024 01:12 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Midfield battle Germany have dominated the midfield battle till now and that is where they have looked absolutely world-class. Most Scotland attacks fizzled out before they reached the Germany box and that is because the midfield block has worked out brilliantly. facebook twitter Share Link
  • June 15 2024 01:09 (IST) Germany vs Scotland LIVE: Scottish attack Che Adams has been a lonely figure in the German half till now and finally Scotland did go for an attack but no end result.
