The New Below Deck Mediterranean Yacht Is One Of The Most Expensive Yet

It sleeps 13 guests in six cabins and contains a beach club, sun deck, gym, and jacuzzi.

The Lady Michelle Below Deck Mediterranean yacht via a screenshot

Below Deck Mediterranean is heading back to familiar waters. After sailing off the coast of Croatia in Season 2, the show is returning to the country for Season 6. Croatia was also recently featured in the second season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , which is why viewers might recognize the yacht now being used in Mediterranean Season 6, the Lady Michelle.

At the end of Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ s most recent season, the crew had to make a last-minute change to their charter when their original guests tested positive for COVID-19. Since the Lady Michelle was already in the area, its crew became the Sailing Yacht ’s new charter guests. There was a lot of panic from the Sailing Yacht crew about what it was going to be like to work for fellow yachties, though the Lady Michelle crew at the time isn’t the same one on Below Deck Med Season 6.

Nevertheless, the new crew will be taking its guests out on one of the show’s most expensive yachts ever. According to the Burgess Yachts chartering site, chartering the Lady Michelle costs $275,000 per week during the summer and up to $310,000 per week during the peak winter season.

By comparison, the ships used in the first two Mediterranean seasons (including the Sirocco that sailed Croatia last time) cost around $167,000 and $213,000 per week, respectively, while last season’s impressive Wellington ship reportedly cost around $243,000 per week .

There’s a reason the Lady Michelle is so pricey, though. According to The International Yacht Company, the massive ship can sleep 13 guests in six cabins and contains a beach club, sun deck, gym, and jacuzzi. It also comes with variety of water toys like wave runners, waterskis, and a waterslide, per Burgess. If someone wanted to buy the whole ship and sail it all year round, IYC has it listed for $19.5 million. And you might need to buy the ship to get it back to Croatia, because that’s not its usual charter route.

On Below Deck , the ship sailed up to scenic Šibenik in Croatia , but the Lady Michelle typically isn’t a Mediterranean vessel. According to Burgess Yachts, it sails the Caribbean and Bahamas in the summer and just the Bahamas in the winter. So don’t get too attached to the Croatian setting if you’re planning to charter Lady Michelle with all of your spare hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Lady Michelle Yacht: Behind The Scenes

Ian Fortey

The Lady Michelle yacht became famous on the show Below Deck: Mediterranean season 6 where it was featured prominently. It’s worth noting that the Lady Michelle has since been renamed and is actually called the Next Chapter now. However, most people still know her as the Lady Michelle because of her time on the TV show.

The yacht features naval architecture and was built by Italian yacht maker Benetti with design work done by Stefano Natucci and delivered back in 2003. She features a steel hull over an aluminum superstructure. It was refitted in 2022 and that was when the name was changed as well.

Who Owns The Lady Michelle Yacht?

lady michelle yacht below deck

In 2003 the Lady Michelle was purchased by entrepreneur Mike Fernandez.  He maintained ownership of the yacht even during its time on the show Below Deck. However, in 2022 the yacht was sold to a company called 1 Ocean Yachts. They are a yacht brokerage firm that also does yacht charter management and the Lady Michelle was renamed to the Next Chapter and added to their charter fleet.

How Big is the Lady Michelle/Next Chapter Yacht?

lady michelle yacht below deck

The Lady Michelle is by no means the biggest yacht in the world but it’s still a good sized vessel at 180.5 feet in length. According to the yacht specifications she features a 34 foot beam and her gross tonnage is 909 GT.

How Much Did the Lady Michelle Yacht Cost?

It’s believed that when the Lady Michelle sold in 2022 and was renamed the Next Chapter she sold for $18,950,000. That was the last published asking price for the yacht . Some sources claim that her initial price in 2003 was about $25 million. The annual cost to keep the yacht running is around $2 million.

Can You Charter the Lady Michelle Yacht?

The Next Chapter/Lady Michelle is available for charter. The current price for a Lady Michelle yacht charter is about $325,000 per week. This number can change based on time of year and demand, however. Because the yacht is one of the more well known in the world thanks to its appearance on the show, it does tend to be popular.

How Fast is the Lady Michelle Yacht and What Engines Does She Have?

lady michelle yacht below deck

The Next Chapter uses a set of Caterpillar 3512 Diesel engines. Her cruising speed is about 14 knots with a top speed of 16 knots. She has a range of about 3,000 nautical miles at cruising speed.

What’s the Interior of the Motor Yacht Lady Michelle Like?

While the yacht was featured on Below Deck as we said and there was plenty of time for people to get a look at the interior and exterior, not all of that is applicable anymore. The refit of 2022 and subsequent sale to make it a charter yacht included a lot of changes to the overall look of the yacht. So if you think you know the Lady Michelle you may not, and the fact it’s called the Next Chapter now is symbolic of that. But, fortunately, the fact it is a charter now means the company wants you to know all of the features and amenities it has to offer, so we have a pretty good idea of the interior and how everything looks.

As we said before, the interior and exterior were managed by Italian designer Stefano Natucci. As a charter vessel she has six cabins that can offer room for up to 12 guests. This includes 1 Master suite, 1 VIP cabin, 2 Double cabins, and 2 Twin cabins. There are also 14 crew on board to help make everyone’s time more enjoyable.

lady michelle yacht below deck

The owner’s suite is also a split level to offer more space and views of the ocean. It features his and hers ensuite washroom facilities and offers a panoramic view of the ocean from the observation lounge. There’s also a private study

When it comes to sleeping, guests enjoy a range of accommodations from the most luxurious with a king sized bed in the Master suite, to 3 queen sized in the VIP and doubles and then 4 singles and 1 pullman for those who are more inclined to rough it a little on a luxury yacht.

The interior was given traditional styling. This includes a lot of glossy wood finishes for a clean, shiny appearance. The color scheme is old school nautical blue and white for all the soft finishes like upholstery and pillows and so on. This, of course, matches the exterior paint on the hull.

Being a charter, the company in charge has packed the Next Chapter to the brim with all kinds of great features. Let’s take a look at some of the standouts.

Features and Amenities

lady michelle yacht below deck

Like any good luxury yacht, the Next Chapter has a wide range of activities, comforts and indulgences available for those who charter her. She also features a range of water toys that is a little more extensive than you may find on similar yachts. These include:

  • A full gym with the latest equipment that is enclosed on the sundeck
  • Deck Jacuzzi
  • An open air cinema on deck for movie nights
  • A saloon for socializing and enjoying drinks
  • An elevator to move between the yacht’s four decks
  • Two SeaDoo Spark Trixx WaveRunners
  • The deck has an al fresco dining area
  • Two seabobs
  • Two Kayaks,
  • Fishing equipment
  • Snorkeling gear
  • Waterslides
  • Two stand-up paddle boards
  • Three tenders including a 45 foot Yamaha Seahunter Tournament Tender
  • There’s an exterior bar on deck as well as a BBQ for drinks and entertaining under the sun or stars
  • A swim platform

What Happened with the Lady Michelle Yacht Drug Bust?

lady michelle yacht below deck

Being on the show Below Deck was not the Lady Michelle’s only brush with fame. Back in 2017 a boat of the same name also made international headlines after it was involved in a sizable drug deal. The boat, flagged as a fishing vessel , was discovered off the coast of South America with a remarkable 4.2 tonnes of cocaine on board. The street value at the time was pegged at about $125 million.

While this boat was seized by both the US and the National Crime Agency, it was an unfortunate mix up with names that got the Lady Michelle yacht involved. This may also be part of the reason the newest owners changed the name, so as to distance themselves from what was, at the time, the largest drug seizure since 1999. You can imagine people who own the boat not wanting anyone to Google a potential charter and discover it was used as a boat to smuggle drugs, even though it was just a case of mistaken identity because they had the same name.

The Lady Michelle that had possession of the drugs was a 70 foot fishing vessel based out of St. Vincent and Grenadines.

The Bottom Line

The Lady Michelle was built in the year 2003 for entrepreneur and philanthropist Mike Fernandez. It was featured on the sixth season of the show Below Deck: Mediterranean which gave the vessel some international attention. However, after it was sold in 2022 for about $18, 950,000 the vessel was retrofitted and also renamed the Next Chapter.

The Next Chapter is just about 180 feet in length and has a top speed of 16 knots. It’s available for charter at a cost of around $325,000 per week and has accommodations for a total of 12 guests. It features a number of luxury amenities and a lot of toys for those on board.

Since 2013, Below Deck has been captivating TV audiences across the globe by offering a voyeuristic peek into life on board multi-million dollar luxury charter yachts . Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

Each season features a different crew configuration, and the episodes show how the crew members interact and deal with personal issues alongside their working lives. The seasons are filmed over six weeks, with every episode featuring a new group of charter guests.

Getting even closer to these Below Deck superstars, we take a look at each of the stand-out features of every yacht that has appeared on the show.

Below Deck (US)

Many crew members are recurring on the show;  the longest-standing is Captain Lee Rosbach, who been on the show since 2013. A fan favourite, he has been at the helm of every yacht on Below Deck and seen a number of different crew formations.

The latest Below Deck season 10 is rumoured to be his final swan song, although his legacy on the show is such that whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill.

Among the crew members, Chief Stewardess Kate Chastain was an integral member of the team from season two to season seven. Alongside her, Chef Ben Robinson was a permanent fixture of the crew from season one to season four, before stepping out for season five.

Throughout the course of the show, the yachts have played an important role.

Hiring a Below Deck yacht will cost from €140,000 per week - and that price doesn't include expenses such as fuel. While some of the yachts were given an alias over the course of filming, their real names can now be revealed below; as well as the exact cost to rent them.

During Season 2 of Below Deck: Mediterranean , M/Y SIROCCO cruised the picturesque waters of  Croatia .

TALISMAN MAITON

Premiering in 2018, season 3 of  Below Deck: Mediterranean saw familiar and new faces head to the sublime cruising grounds of Italy. This time, the crew treated their discerning guests to a world of luxury on board the 54m/178ft motor yacht TALISMAN MAITON .

Built in 2006 and refit to an exacting standard in 2016, the yacht boasts a range of exciting features that make her particularly appropriate for the waters of the Amalfi Coast . Indeed, her entertainment options range from a stunning selection of water toys to a sundeck Jacuzzi and a refreshingly modern interior.

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

See Where Below Deck Med Guests "Party When They Want to Get Away from the Cameras"

Below Deck Mediterranean 's Chief Stew Katie Flood is sharing a behind-the-scenes look around the  Lady Michelle.

lady michelle yacht below deck

On Below Deck Mediterranean , it's no secret that charter guests often come aboard looking to party. While we've witnessed everything from late-night dancing to  silent discos , it turns out there are even more epic moments that go on behind the scenes.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck Mediterranean  on Mondays at 9/8c and next day on  Peacock . Catch up on the Bravo app .

In the Bravo Insider video above, Below Deck Med 's new chief stew, Katie Flood , gave a behind-the-scenes tour of the  Lady Michelle.  While walking around the 180-foot-yacht, Katie revealed that the observation suite is "where most of our guests come to party when they want to get away from the cameras."

Of course, the fun doesn't stop there, especially for the crew. According to Katie, the main salon is where the crew members twerk, the master cabin or laundry room are the go-to spots when they "wanna be romantic" (when they don't have guests aboard), and the fully-stocked bar "has all the alcohol on drop-off day."

For more behind-the-scenes details on every room of the yacht, including the indoor dining area, "one of the largest primary cabins" Katie has seen, and the crew mess, watch the video above.

Meet The Cast Of Below Deck Med

Captain Sandy Yawn of Below Deck Mediterranean

The sixth season of "Below Deck Mediterranean" made its debut on June 28, 2021, featuring a mix of familiar faces and new crew members to the Mediterranean-focused spinoff in Bravo's " Below Deck " franchise. Like the other series, "Below Deck Mediterranean" follows the crew of a super yacht, with the new season following the action aboard the 180-foot "mega yacht" Lady Michelle as it cruises the Adriatic sea, exploring the pristine waters off Croatia's Dalmatian Coast.

According to Bravo's press release , viewers shouldn't be expecting smooth sailing in season six. "Personalities clash and tension quickly escalates as a crew member's grudges start to rock the boat and disrupt the workflow," the release teased, also revealing that "a serious crisis occurs before the opening charter, leaving the staff to worry if the season will be over before it even begins."

With Captain Sandy Yawn back in charge, her hands are full managing an all-new crew (along with returning crew member Malia White ) as they all get to know each other while serving together on a luxury charter. So who are these new arrivals to the "Below Deck" franchise? Keep on reading to meet the cast of "Below Deck: Mediterranean."

Chief stew Katie Flood is no newbie to the yachting world

Hailing from New Zealand,  Katie Flood is the new chief stew aboard the Lady Michelle. As her Bravo bio pointed out, she has more than six years of yachting experience under her belt. During those years, working on both private and charter yachts, she developed a reputation "as a perfectionist with a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic ... No matter how difficult the request, she always manages to get it done and flawlessly."

However, a trailer for the sixth season of "Below Deck Mediterranean" hints at clashes between Katie and members of her team, with Katie seen telling one of the stews, "I'm pissed off at you!" In an interview with E! , however, Katie shrugged off the drama by insisting it was no big deal, merely that "s**t happens" in the yachting industry. "That's why there's a show about it," she quipped.

As she explained, that can be par for the course when disparate personalities are thrown together. "It's like, we're still learning about each other, still figuring how to work together," she added. "In what world would that ever run completely smoothly?"

Chef Mathew Shea wound up embroiled in drama at the start

Becoming a chef had been Mathew Shea 's dream since age 12, his  bio  explained, and he learned a lot from his mother, "who ran a macrobiotic cooking school in the '80s." His first experience cooking on the high seas came when he "went on tour with Greenpeace, where he was hired as an assistant to a classically-trained French Chef who became his mentor." After pursuing a career as a chef within the yachting industry, Matthew's elite clientele has included the likes of media mogul Rupert Murdoch and actor Hugh Jackman.

Unfortunately, Mathew's maiden voyage on the Lady Michelle was not smooth sailing. As Us Weekly reported, he suffered a gnarly knee injury at the outset of the journey, documented in the season's first episode. "I don't feel like I can do this properly... I didn't sleep and trying to figure out the kitchen on the first day with that handicap... I am freaking out," Mathew told Captain Sandy Yawn of his injury. "My livelihood is standing on my foot. I don't want it to get worse. I don't know what the f**k it is, but it doesn't feel right."

New stew Lexi Wilson is a former athlete and beauty pageant queen

According to Lexi Wilson 's network bio , she moved to Florida from her native Bahamas on a track and field scholarship and represented the Bahamas when competing in the 2013 Miss Universe pageant . While living in Florida, she became friendly with the captain of a yacht and accepted an offer to become a stew on his boat, and "hasn't looked back since." In fact, her bio added, "Even when she is in uniform, Lexi manages to remain glamorous and have a good time. Lexi joins the crew as the second stew and is always one to prioritize service to the guests."

Lexi makes a brief but memorable appearance in the season-six teaser , when chief stew Katie Flood is seen berating Lexi, who's on the phone with her mother. "Hey mom, I'm quitting this boat," she says, while in another clip she declares, "If you want me to be a f**king b***h, I can be a b***h."

While the teaser may indicate stormy seas ahead, Lexi's Instagram feed is significantly less fraught — and far more glamorous, including a photo of  a lace-gloved hand (presumably hers) holding a dark drink in a martini glass.

Courtney Veale brings a lifelong love of travel to her new role as stew

A native of Wales, Courtney Veale 's bio noted that she'd experienced a cavalcade of different vocations before heading out to sea, including stints as "a ski resort representative, bartender, paper delivery girl, nanny, and even a performer in Disneyland Paris."

Her first job in the yachting world was aboard a vessel in the south of France, and the gig seemed to tick all her boxes. It was during that excursion, her bio explained, that "she knew she had found the perfect fit." As a member of the Lady Michelle crew, Courtney's "sunny personality and can-do attitude" is sure to be welcomed by her fellow crew members as she embarks on her first season of "Below Deck Mediterranean."

Meanwhile, Courtney seems to have had herself a fine time on the Mediterranean, judging by a photo she shared on Instagram ahead of the show's sixth season premiere. "A rare occasion I have something other than an Aperol in my hand," she wrote in the caption for a pic of her bikini-clad self standing next to the ocean. "Can't believe I'm back in Croatia where we filmed and now it's premiering!"

New deckhand David Pascoe made a major career change before coming to yachting

According to David Pascoe 's bio , the new deckhand on the Lady Michelle was born in Italy and raised in the U.K. Working in the world of yachting, however, was not what he originally had in mind. In fact, he'd already launched an earlier career as a care worker at a facility for people rehabilitating from brain injuries before taking a sharp left turn into a whole other vocation.

If the trailer for the sixth season of "Below Deck Mediterranean" is any indication, David could be landing smack-dab in the middle of some major drama; as ScreenRant pointed out, he and another member of the Lady Michelle crew appear to be vying for the affection of bosun Malia White.

Malia, fans may recall, released a "PSA" video on Instagram (which she later deleted, but not before it could be documented by ScreenRant ) in which she confirmed that she and boyfriend Tom Checketts had split up. Now that she's single, she's seemingly enjoying all the attention by certain male members of the crew, a storyline that no doubt plays out during season six.

Deckhand Lloyd Spencer brings a love of thrill-seeking adventure

Also joining the Lady Michelle as deckhand is Lloyd Spencer , a native of Britain who'd developed a penchant for adrenaline-charged, thrill-seeking activities. According to his Bravo bio , a nasty motorcycle accident led him to a career on the water, ultimately landing in the world of super yachting. "On the mega yacht Lady Michelle, Lloyd is a joy to be around and a hard worker who is determined to prove his skills both on deck and in engineering," his bio noted. "One to always say yes to a challenge, he loves the ever-changing and exciting lifestyle that yachting provides."

However, Lloyd's maiden voyage with the Lady Michelle is not without incident, as evidenced in the first-look trailer for season six of "Below Deck Mediterranean." In the clip, Lloyd is seen vomiting into the ocean, and then lying on a couch while he's undergoing a medical examination. "His blood pressure's really high, he has chest pains... he needs to go to the hospital," a voice says off-camera, just before a shot of a waiting ambulance.

Judging by subsequent fun-filled  Instagram  posts, though, Lloyd has apparently made a full recovery from whatever was ailing him.

Deckhand Mzi "Zee" Dempers has a reputation for being the life of every party

Mzi Dempers , known by his nickname Zee, hails from Durban, South Africa, and has followed a family tradition of yachting. As his bio explained, his two brothers are also employed in yachting, with one serving as a captain and the other a chief officer. While he encountered some visa issues that waylaid his plans to work internationally for a while, those problems have since been sorted out and he's making the most of his freedom to travel. "Now he is ready to jump back into yachting to see the world and learn about other cultures," his bio stated. "Zee's contagious laughter and lovable spirit make him the life of every party!"

That is certainly borne out by the season-six trailer for "Below Deck Mediterranean," which features Zee in the midst of various partying scenarios, including a full-on make-out session with a female crew member and numerous occurrences of him falling to the floor.

Zee took to Instagram to tease his role in the show. "Hope smiles were this big whilst watching the trailer," he wrote in the caption, accompanying a pic of his smiling self chilling on a sandy beach.

Captain Sandy Yawn is back at the helm

Captain Sandy Yawn , described in her Bravo bio as "one of the most respected captains in the industry," is back at the helm for her fifth season of "Below Deck Mediterranean," having joined the series in its second season. Leading the crew of the Lady Michelle while sailing the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, Captain Sandy remains committed to ensuring guests receive the ultimate five-star yachting experience.

Judging by a teaser for the new season that she shared on Instagram , viewers should expect to see Sandy in some tense moments, including navigating a treacherous storm and having a heated confrontation with bosun Malia White. Of course, there are also some lighter moments, including a brief snippet in which Captain Sandy learns to twerk.

In fact, in a Bravo interview documented on Bravo's Daily Dish , she promised that season six would be a "completely different season," adding, "I think the viewers will really like what we have." She also applauded the new season's "great crew, diverse crew," adding that she was "very excited to be a part of it." As she noted, "For me, it was such a wonderful experience. It was actually amazing."

Bosun Malia White continues her quest to captain her own super yacht

Bosun Malia White was first seen as a deckhand in the second season of "Below Deck Mediterranean." She returned in season five, having risen in seniority to bosun. As her  bio  explained, now that she's earned her 200-ton Captain's License, she'll continue to pursue her dream of becoming a super yacht captain. "This season," the bio added, "Malia will take on even more responsibility and pressure as she leads a new deck team and charter guests through adventurous, nature-filled excursions."

In addition to the drama on the show, shortly after the season's premiere, she took to Instagram to reveal she was involved in a terrifying scooter accident while tooling around the Spanish island of Mallorca.

First, she posted a series of photos and video of her "amazing day." She followed up by sharing  a selfie of herself in a hospital bed, with a bruised face and IV in her hand. "Luckily, I was able to walk away with a few stitches, fractured elbow, broken toes, severe road rash and a very sore body," she wrote of her accident, admitting it would have been far worse had she not been wearing her helmet.

Below Deck Mediterranean

According to the Kentucky Herald-Leader, best friends Nikki Wiley and Halie Potter boarded the mega-yacht, Lady Michelle, along with other friends back in 2020.

As fans know, Below Deck Mediterranean focuses on the crew and guests of the mega-yacht Lady Michelle.

The group of guests that appeared in the 610 episodes that aired on August 30, Burning Down the House.

Below Deck Mediterranean – Always Watched ‘Below Deck’

In addition to Nikki Wiley and Halie Potter, Kristol Yeager, Sarah Hyden, Ashley Brown, Bailey Hancock, Andrea Coughtry, and Danielle Stratton also boarded the yacht.

According to the Herald-Leader, five of the women live in Lexington while the others either live elsewhere in Kentucky, had lived in Lexington previously, or otherwise have connections in Lexington.

Wiley told the Herald-Leader that she had always watched the Below Deck series and that she’d always been a fan of all the Bravo shows.

Below Deck Mediterranean – ‘It All Just Came To Fruition”

She said that once she gathered a group of eight friends for the show, in addition to Nikki Wiley and Halie Potter, Kristol Yeager, Sarah Hyden, Ashley Brown, Bailey Hancock, Andrea Coughtry, and Danielle Stratton also boarded the yacht.

Once she had gathered her eight friends together, she says, “it all just came to fruition.”

They spent four days in Croatia together and, Wiley said, they had a great time and were treated like celebrities there.

Below Deck Mediterranean – Malia White In Relationship, Keeping Mostly Quiet

In other Below Deck Mediterranean news, stars Malia White, and Lady Michelle engineer, Jake Baker, are rumored to be dating.

According to Page Six, the two shared an image of them kissing, Saturday, August 28, on Instagram.

He captioned the image with a simple black heart emoji.

Per Screenrant, Malia’s costar, Courtney Veale, reacted wildly to the image commenting, “You guys just broke the internet.”

Malia had told Showbiz CheatSheet, back in August, that she was dating but it seems that both of them have preferred to keep the relationship on the down-low for the time being.

After her very public breakup with chef Tom Checketts which followed another public break up with yet another chef, Adam Glick from Season 2, the reality star has elected to remain relatively quiet about her love life.

Be sure to catch up on everything happening with Bravo right now. Come back here often for Below Deck Mediterranean spoilers, news, and updates.

How to charter a Below Deck superyacht

Want to know how much it would cost to charter one of the luxury superyachts featured on US hit TV series Below Deck ? We take a look inside Below Deck ’s famous superyachts that you can charter for yourself, and find out what they have to offer charter guests on board.

Northern Sun

The star yacht of Below Deck Down Under season two, the 50.8-metre Northern Sun (originally delivered as Hokko Maru ) has lived a full and fascinating life. She was the largest yacht built by Narasaki Shipbuilding at the time and worked as an ice-class research vessel, analysing marine life and ocean currents in the North Japan Sea. As a result, she has the hardy constitution of an explorer, transformed from ship to superyacht under the stewardship of her new owners.

Northern Sun’s main deck is now dedicated entirely to entertainment, from the al fresco dining area to the main saloon with its piano and games table. Other leisure highlights include gym equipment, a dedicated library on the lower deck and an outdoor Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads and lounge beds. The owners’ addition of a forward seating area during her refit allows for versatile recreation, whether the mood calls for cocktail parties or quiet, waterside contemplation.

Accommodation is for up to 12 guests across six cabins, with rich, warm interiors that feature natural materials such as narra and makore wood (commonly known as cherry mahogany). The ex-explorer also – naturally – has impressive stowing capacity. She's able to carry two Laser sailboats, scuba-diving equipment, a waterski and a two-deck-high inflatable water slide, with the broker describing her as a "family-orientated" vessel.

Charter cost: Northern Sun is managed for charter by Ocean Independence with a weekly charter rate starting from $161,700.

60 metre Benetti motor yacht St David is the star of the tenth season of Below Deck, returning to the Caribbean with beloved Captain Lee. A finalist at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards , St David is a full-custom yacht with both interior and exterior design by British studio Winch Design .

She has made appearances at a number of high-profile events such as the Cannes Film Festival and has been spotted at various locations around the world including the Seychelles, Red Sea and Abu Dhabi. Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins, with a split-level master suite that lets in plenty of light.

A palatial theme characterises St David ’s social spaces, with features including a generous skylounge and a spiral staircase that leads through all three decks and is lit by a skylight in the spa pool of the sun deck. Elsewhere, St David has expansive water toy facilities and storage, including scuba dive gear, a new 7.2m tender, new Waverunners, and an electric foiling surfboard.

Charter cost: St David is managed by Morley Yachts with a weekly charter rate starting from €325,000.

The star of Below Deck Mediterranean season seven, 49.8 metre Home is the first “green” superyacht to appear on the show. Featuring a ground-breaking combination of a super-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form by Van Oossanen Naval Architects with power provided by a hybrid propulsion system, Home boasts reduced emissions and fuel costs for the eco-conscious charter guest.

Defined by a distinctive vertical bow and large expanses of glass, Home was penned by Omega Architects and launched by Heesen in 2017. Her interiors, designed by Cristiano Gatto in a modern “Ibiza style”, can accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins including a full-beam master cabin with a dedicated dressing room and a private office. There is also room for nine members of Below Deck crew on board, including Captain Sandy who has returned to the helm for the seventh season while Home is cruising the coasts of Malta .

The main socialising spot is up on the sundeck, complete with a Jacuzzi and sit-up bar, a shaded lounge and protection from the elements provided by glass screens. Closer to the water, a beach club with an air-conditioned gym is situated next to the swimming platform from which guests can launch the water toys including SeaBobs, Hoverboards, E-foils, Jet Skis and a Flyboard. Home also carries gear for scuba diving, waterskiing and wakesurfing for guests to make the most of their time on board.

Charter cost: Home is managed for charter by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from $245,000.

Sailing under her own name around the South Pacific islands of French Polynesia on Below Deck’s sixth series, the 56.4 metre My Seanna (now Starship ) was built by Delta Marine in 2000 and refitted in 2014. The Glade-Johnson designed superyacht reappeared again for season eight, where she was filmed cruising in Antigua. She is now starring in the latest season of the show, season nine, following her recent sale .

Key features include an open air Jacuzzi surrounded by an al fresco drinks bar, a gym, a sauna room, a helipad and a spacious beach club complete with a lounge, flatscreen TV and a small galley for preparing snacks or drinks. Her opulent interiors can accommodate up to 12 guests and 11 crew and even offer a home cinema and piano for entertaining in the main saloon. There are multiple toys carried on board as well, including gear for diving and spearfishing, Seabobs and equipment for underwater filming.

“The thing that I really love about My Seanna is the spacious cabins” says Worth Avenue retail charter broker, Shannon McCoy, who has appeared on episodes of Below Deck . She describes My Seanna as a “well-appointed yacht with a good collection of toys for the guests to enjoy,” offering an excellent layout with a variety of spaces that allows charterers “to have breakfast in a different place every morning or enjoy dinner whether it's outside under the sun or in the formal dining area.”

Charter cost: Starship is managed for charter by Worldwide Boat with a weekly charter rate starting from $275,000.

Lady Michelle

Sailing under her real name, Lady Michelle was the star of the sixth series of Below Deck Mediterranean , which was the latest series from the Med spin off. The 54.8 metre Benetti superyacht is the second biggest yacht ever to feature on the show, following just behind the 56.2 metre motor yacht The Wellington from season five. During season six Lady Michelle hosted charter guests in Ibenik, Croatia with Captain Sandy behind the helm.

First delivered in 2003, Lady Michelle features accommodation for up to 14 guests including a split-level master suite with its own panoramic observation lounge. Her Stefano Natucci interiors offer indoor and al fresco dining spaces, an expansive sundeck with a hot tub and dedicated gym. There’s also a range of toys at the guests’ disposal, from Jet Skis and Seabobs to fishing gear and a waterslide.

Charter cost: Lady Michelle is managed by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from $325,000.

The Wellington

Actually named The Wellesley , this 56.2 metre Oceanco superyacht is owned by property magnate and hotelier Khalid Affara and named after his luxury art deco hotel in London. Delivered in 1993, The Wellesley features extended deck spaces and Donald Starkey -penned interiors that replicate the grandeur of the eponymous Knightsbridge hotel. Highlights on board include a waterfall jacuzzi, an outdoor cinema for movies under the stars and a unique private club-style lounge complete with a Winston Churchill inspired cigar room.

Describing why she makes an excellent charter yacht, James Graham-Cloete, director of charter management from TWW Yachts , says that The Wellesley is “ideal for entertaining family and friends, or hosting corporate events in utter privacy,” thanks to the fact that she “boasts some of the largest open deck spaces of any 56 metre on the water.” Graham-Cloete also adds that, on The Wellesley , “guests are invited to experience the same exceptional personal service, fine dining and attention to detail that has become synonymous with the hotel, on board a private superyacht,” while being looking after by her 14 crew members. “The crew have one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry and one of the best charter records, along with a full-time masseuse on board- making her the ultimate charter yacht!” says Graham-Cloete.

Charter cost: The Wellesley is managed by TWW Yachts with a weekly charter rate starting from €230,000.

Talisman Maiton

Built in 2006 by Turquoise Yachts , with a refit in 2012, the 54.2 metre Talisman Maiton sailed the coasts of Italy in the third series of Below Deck Mediterranean and was also captained by Sandy Yawn. Key features include a generous open plan sun deck with a forward-facing Jacuzzi and bar, al fresco dining spaces and a gym. Inside, she features six individually styled cabins for her 12 guests – including a master suite with its own private office – complemented by a sumptuous interior inspired by a combination of Asian and Art Deco influences. Her toy box is filled with snorkelling and fishing gear, Jet Skis and more for guests to enjoy while on board.

Charter cost: Talisman Maiton is managed by Burgess with a weekly charter rate starting from €273,000.

The 47 metre Heesen -built superyacht Sirocco took centre stage in both the second and fourth series of Below Deck Mediterranean and introduced captain Sandy Yawn, who has become a returning cast member on the show. Launched in 2006 with a refit in 2013, Sirocco features a dark blue hull and was designed inside and out by Omega Architects . She accommodates up to 12 guests and nine crew and offers charterers an eight person Jacuzzi, a gym, plenty of al fresco entertainment areas and a well-stocked toy box comprising Jet Skis, a waterslide and gear for wakeboarding or waterskiing. Worth Avenue retail charter broker Shannon McCoy describes Sirocco as a “very, very popular charter yacht” and with her fleet of water toys and pedigree Heesen design, provides “an excellent platform for a great time at sea.”

Charter cost: Sirocco is managed for charter by Worth Avenue with a weekly charter rate starting from €195,000.

Ionian Princess

Appropriately named for the first season of Below Deck Mediterranean , which was set in Greece, the 45.7 metre Christensen -built yacht was captained by Mark Howard during filming. Launched in 2005 and last refitted in 2016, Ionian Princess features a luxurious Greek-style inspired interior finished with high-gloss sapelle mahogany joinery and custom in-laid stonework throughout. Ionian Princess can host up to 12 guests in six cabins, including two master cabins, and also boasts plentiful dining options and a sundeck equipped with a hot tub and sunpads. She also comes with a fleet of water toys from waterskiing and wakeboarding kit to Jet Skis and kayaks. Thanks to her shallow draft, she can also access hard-to-reach hidden gems in the Mediterranean Sea that other larger yachts aren’t able to. “ Ionian Princess is ideally suited for cruising the Mediterranean, which is the most sought-after region for summer yacht charters,” says her management team at charter brokers Northrop & Johnson.

Charter cost: Ionian Princess is managed by Northrop & Johnson with a weekly charter rate starting from $175,000.

Parsifal III

Parsifal III has been the star of the sailing yacht spin off of Below Deck , captained by Glenn Shephard during filming. The 54 metre Perini Navi was launched in 2005 and was designed by Rémi Tessier . She was most recently refitted in 2020, and offers accommodation for a total of 12 guests and nine crew. Her design has seen her scoop a number of World Superyacht Awards and provides her with excellent performance capabilities at sea; when the weather is on your side, Parsifal III can hit speeds of up to 18 knots under sail. While at anchor, there is still plenty to keep guests entertained with a variety of al fresco and indoor dining spaces, a flybridge hot tub, gym equipment, a swimming platform and a fully-stocked toybox.

Charter cost: Parsifal III is managed for charter by Camper & Nicholsons with a weekly charter rate starting from €195,000.

Why Lady Michelle Is Captain Sandy's Favorite Below Deck Mediterranean Yacht to Date

In an exclusive chat with e news, captain sandy yawn explained why the season six yacht for below deck mediterranean is her favorite. see what she had to say.

All aboard!

In an exclusive chat with E! News, Below Deck Mediterranean 's Captain Sandy Yawn dished all about her season six yacht, named Lady Michelle. Fans of the Below Deck franchise got a taste of the luxury vessel during season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . Yet, in the new season of Below Deck Med , viewers will get a front row seat to what the yacht has to offer.

And, from what Captain Sandy told us, Lady Michelle is one impressive yacht. "My favorite boat ever," she shared. "It was like so solid, I didn't even know we were at sea."

While the layout of Lady Michelle is certainly breathtaking, boasting six guest cabins and over 180 feet in length, the captain revealed that she loved the way it handles. "For me, how it responds in the sea," she explained. "You know, the layout was great, it's for charter...The volume for the size was incredible."

This is certainly high praise coming from Captain Sandy, who has previously captained mega-yachts Sirocco, Talisman Maiton and The Wellington. However, after learning of Lady Michelle's $310,000 winter rate/per week, we can't say we're shocked that the yacht is so spectacular.

Although Lady Michelle typically sails the Caribbean and Bahamas, Captain Sandy led her through the waters of Croatia this season. On returning to the European country's coast, she relayed, "It was absolutely beautiful. The people were great. You know, remember, it was very quiet 'cause of what was going on around the world."

Per the captain, she was "just grateful" that they "got to go there."

Speaking of the coronavirus pandemic, Captain Sandy assured us that season six will be just as entertaining and fabulous as its predecessors. "We made it incredible, right?" she said. "So, that's the beauty of being on a boat is you can quarantine off-shore and have this epic time and see these beautiful places while the rest of the world is shut down."

The captain highlighted how the charter business also helped the economy. She concluded, "At the same time, you're employing people, you're provisioning, you're buying goods. You know, so you're helping the community at the same time."

Below Deck Mediterranean  premieres tonight, June 28 at 9 p.m. on Bravo . All new episodes will be available on Peacock one week early, starting June 21.

(E!, Bravo and Peacock are all part of the NBCUniversal family.)

What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5? Here's what we know

W hat happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5? That’s the question on fans’ minds after it was revealed Below Deck Med Season 9 will air following Below Deck Season 11.

Ever since Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered on Bravo, it has followed the OG show.

Below Deck Med would then hit Bravo airwaves once the sailing show had wrapped it’s run.

That’s the way it’s been for the past four years, except for last year when Below Deck Down Under Season 2 aired after Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

So why all of a sudden is there a switch in the schedule, especially since Below Deck Med Season 8 just ended in January?

Let’s take a look at what we know.

What happened to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5?

The reason for the change-up likely has to do with the sexual misconduct allegations that came out against Gary King after Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht was filmed.

Leaked photos revealed that Daisy Kelliher and Gary were back for another stint aboard Parsifal III with Captain Glenn. The two of them returning was music to fans’ ears as they helped make Below Deck Sailing Yacht a huge success with Colin MacRae.

However, a couple of weeks later, news broke that a member of the production team came out via Rolling Stone to accuse Gary of unwanted sexual advances and harassment. Gary was soon removed from the BravoCon 2023 list, making clear Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 could be in trouble.

Unlike when Peter Hunziker was fired by Bravo for a racist post and then edited out of the season, Gary has not been fired from the show. Plus, editing Gary out really wouldn’t be an option because he plays such a pivotal role and makes a good story even if fans don’t like him.

All of this means that what would have been Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 could be scrapped. Should that be the case, a new season of the sailing show won’t air for a long time.

Then again, maybe the powers that be are still trying to figure out how to save the season with Gary, and they just need more time.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans share thoughts on schedule change

A Reddit thread devoted to the Below Deck Med and Below Deck Sailing Yacht swap had fans buzzing.

“I would absolutely be okay with a delay if it means not having to watch Gary. I’m not sure I’ll even watch if he’s on it, especially since Colin isn’t. And Glenn the enabler has went from being best captain to #3 now…,” wrote one user.

Another admitted to liking the sailing show with Daisy but could do without Gary and would be fine if Season 5 never aired.

“AS IT SHOULD BE. Bravo needs to learn- you hire racists, you hire sexual abusers, you’re going to lose money. The end.” was another remark.

A different user doesn’t think the season will air and noticed Daisy switched her Instagram bio, so that may be a clue that Season 5 will never see the light of day. There was also speculation that Below Deck spin-offs will soon be combined for money reasons.

“That is a possibility or they’re still editing the heck out of it to reduce his role as much as possible but that has got to be a monumental task. I doubt they’d scrub an entire season but maybe more things have come out behind the scenes we’re unaware of and they have to do what they have to do especially with all the negative publicity they’re getting with Andy Cohen lately.” declared another user.

Along with Below Deck Sailing Yacht being pushed back, Below Deck Down Under fate seems to be up in the air. As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Captain Jason Chambers asked for fans’ help with Season 3.

Be sure to keep checking back for more news on th e Below Deck franchise.

Below Deck Med Season 9 premieres on Monday, June 3 at 9/8c on Bravo. Below Deck Sailing Yacht is currently on hiatus on Bravo.

Below Deck Med’s Captain Sandy Worries About ‘Catastrophic’ Charter After Aesha Goes to the Hospital (Exclusive)

Below Deck Mediterranean ‘s Captain Sandy Yawn isn’t sure she can pull off a successful charter without her chief stew, Aesha Scott .

In Us Weekly ‘s exclusive clip from the Monday, July 1, episode of the Bravo show, Aesha reveals to Sandy that she needs medical treatment.

“I just wanted to show you my thumb. In my experience, when it forms a line like that it is usually a sign of infection,” Aesha says about her injury, which occurred the previous night after she accidentally cut herself. “And it feels like there’s still some glass in there.

Sandy suggests that Aesha go to a hospital , adding, “Maybe we just send you ashore and get the glass cut out, get it wrapped and come back.”

In a confessional, Sandy admits she’s more worried than she’s letting on.

“If Aesha develops an infection and I can’t have her work the charter, it would be catastrophic for me,” she says. “The deck team is still finding their feet and we haven’t had the greatest last charter with the chef. I don’t need my interior to fall apart.”

Aesha also questions whether she would be able to make it back in time, saying, “I’m very worried about missing guest arrival. We are getting guests on in three hours. There is not much time to go to a Greek hospital, get it looked at and get back to the boat.”

Before Aesha’s injury, the chief stew and Sandy were working well together while filming season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean . Aesha originally joined the show during season 4 and worked as a second stew under Hannah Ferrier ’s reign. She became the chief stew alongside Captain Jason Chambers on Below Deck Down Under for the first two seasons of the spinoff before returning to her Below Deck Med roots.

Aesha recently opened up about why she had some anxiety when it came to returning to Below Deck Med .

“Oh my gosh, it was so special. It was very nerve-wracking just because I put so much pressure on myself to impress her,” she exclusively told Us earlier this month. “Because I worked with her as a second stew then I went away.”

While reflecting on the season, Aesha recalled her attempts to prove herself to Sandy.

Below Deck Med s Captain Sandy Worries About Possible Catastrophic Charter

“I felt like I grew into a woman. And as I said on the first episode [of season 9], it felt like I was coming home,” she continued. “I just respect her so, so much. I put a lot of pressure on myself — but I am really proud of what I did and I feel like I did a good job.”

Aesha gushed about how her friendship with Sandy was able to evolve off screen.

“It did [grow] in such a beautiful way. When I first worked for her as a second stew, it was very much like a captain and stew relationship. Then after the show when she got together with [her now-wife] Leah [Shafer] , who was based in Denver and we were in Breckenridge, we ended up seeing them more as friends,” Aesha, who is currently engaged to Scott “Scotty” Dobson, told Us. “Because we’d go up and have dinner and hang out and then coming back to work for her, it was just this very beautiful friendship.”

She concluded: “We were very professional together. But there were these moments where I’d sneak into the bridge and I’d show her a meme or something. I love that we have a little giggle and we just kind of grew this bond where we really relied on each other a lot.”

Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 airs on Bravo Mondays at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
