TIP TOP II CRUISE REVIEWS

Cruise rating: 4.1 /5 - 4 customer reviews

Hi Gabriela, Janice and I had a fantastic time in the Galapagos. The Tip Top experience was great -- very professional and well done. We also felt you did a great job with transfers, hotels, guides, etc in Quito -- everything went smoothly with no hassle at all! Thank you for your oversight of the trip and its arrangements -- we're both very grateful for a truly memorable vacation experience. Thanks again! Bill and Janice Weiss June 2019 4.1
Hi Lilian We returned from Galapagos and Amazon last month and everything was perfect for our honeymoon. I want to thank you very much for all your time helping me to plan things and making such good arrangements so things worked smoothly for us. I really appreciate your services and will be sure to recommend you to friends who are considering a trip to Ecuador. All the best, Thomas Seeto April 2018 4.1
Hello! It was beyond my expectations! The room was larger than any I've had on my previous 8 cruises. Food was healthy, tasty and generous. All on board were helpful and fun. Our travel companions were great. Angelina the guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and pushed us hard. I list 4# and joined a gym at home to keep up my new found energy! Our snorkeling trips were, wonderful especially middle Isabela where we swam with penguins, sea lions and turtles laughing while under water! Bellavista room was again great, people helpful, hummingbirds, flora interesting, and hikes prepared us for Galapagos. Termas Papallacta spa was lovely and my massage was top notch. Thank you for a delightful time! Barb Barbara Schmal February 2018 4.1

I absolutely loved my time in the Galapagos and the crew made the trip memorable

Being part of a small group-15 clients- meant you really got to know people well and they were a lovely group of people. Being busy snorkling, kayaking and walking meant we saw as much as possible. I loved being on the boat which travelled between islands mostly at night- good use of time. The crew and naturaliste guide were very polite, friendly and helpful.

  • 10 Exceptional

A thoroughly amazing experience

North Seymour, to see different species of birds in their mating rituals The snorkeling Bartolomé and the iconic view Learning about the complexities in restoring and maintaining species of plants, birds, reptiles and mammals on the different islands Everywhere you turned around. There was something interesting to see.

This was a fabulous once in a lifetime trip!

Seeing up close the tortoises and sea lions on land as well as sea lions and green turtles in the sea - all favorites. The snorkeling trips were varied, marine life breathtaking!

  • 8.8 Fabulous

Fantastic adventure!

Galapagos tortoises, sharks, dolphins, and sea lions. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was very tasty, assorted, and diversified. The crew was always trying to please you.

Great adventure in the Galapagos

We had an amazing trip - lots of snorkeling, hiking and learning about the beautiful Galápagos Islands. The Tip Top II was a great way to see the area. It was a very comfortable and well equipped boat, the crew was super kind and helpful, an our guide, Wilo was very knowledgeable about the area, as well as fun to listen to and spend time with. He prepared an incredible highlights reel video for us to have as a memory of our trip. Of course the strongest highlight was the number of amazing animals, how close we could come near to observe them, and the stark and colorful beauty of the landscapes. We would love to come back some day to see more. Thank you for an incredible experience.

Comfortable and friendly boat

For the price paid this was very good value for money The cabin and bathroom were big enough to be really comfortable throughout the trip and the small balcony was well worth the extra. Plenty of room on board to relax and being a cat it was very stable (compared to a mono) for walking around and sleeping. Swimming alongside sea lions, penguins, sharks, large turtles, rays and a wide range of other fish that were somewhat larger for their type than seen elsewhere were our main highlights of the trip - plus of course seeing BF Boobies and Frigate birds close up in flight and roosting with their chicks. On board guide was Edwardo, really nice chap with lots of knowledge, I would just have preferred him to edit down his content a little - but no doubt others might prefer even more detail so thats just a personal preference. Finally, the whole crew seemed very happy, helpful and committed in their jobs which made the whole cruise a really enjoyable experience

We’re here to help, 24/7.

GALAPAGOS CONNOISSEUR

Fantastic 5 Day cruise onboard Tip Top II

The Tip Top II is one of my favorite yachts in the Galapagos, it offers great itineraries and a perfect short 5 Day Galapagos cruise.

Tip Top II History

The M/C Tip Top II was built in 2008 and redesigned in 2015-2016 to offer the highest level of comfort and the best possible experience in the Galapagos Islands.

Great service, logistics and operation

The Tip Top Fleet offers the best possible service and Tip Top logistics and operation in the Galapagos Islands and during transit in Ecuador Mainland. Partnered with Lufthansa and part of Lufthansa City Center in Ecuador, you know you are in great hands when you book any of the Tip Top yachts.

Tip Top Galapagos Experience

The Tip Top II is a brand new beautiful catamaran, which will provide speed, safety, and plenty of amenities on board, so you can worry about more important things like what cocktail to choose to enjoy on the spacious and inviting sundeck.

Intimacy and camaraderie in the Galapagos Islands

During your cruise, you will enjoy well-furnished areas offering comfort and privacy. Tip Top II has a maximum capacity of 16 passengers allowing both intimacy and camaraderie at the same time. Onboard you will enjoy social areas for those who are looking for a quiet place to relax during their Galapagos trip with family and friends in the lazy mid-afternoon sun, or likewise after a busy day of swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, or walking.

Accommodation aboard Tip Top II

Onboard Tip Top II each cabin boasts the following:

  • Private bathroom (toilet, shower, washbasin and vanity)
  • Locker and drawers
  • Air conditioned

All cabins are above the waterline so you will enjoy big windows to be able to take in the amazing Galapagos landscapes.

Cabin distribution

  • 2 cabins with one single lower berths – Cabins 1 & 2
  • 4 cabins with two single lower berths – Cabins 3 to 6

Upper Deck:

Best 5 Day Galapagos Cruise

Tip Top II itineraries explained

Regarding itineraries, the Tip Top II offers a choice of 4 itineraries:

Option 1 – 8 Day

Option 1 is an 8-day itinerary visiting the wonderful Western islands of Isabela and Fernandina and making your way to Bartholomew.

tip top ii catamaran

You will have a fantastic Galapagos experience in the Western Islands where you will snorkel and swim with sea lions. penguins, and be able to mingle among plenty of wildlife.

tip top ii catamaran

When you make a stop at Bartholomew you will be able to take the quintessential Galapagos pic with Pinnacle Rock in the background.

Option 2 – 8 Day

Option 2 is an 8-day itinerary visiting the Southern islands of Española and Floreana and going up north to the renowned Genovesa.

tip top ii catamaran

Florena and Española are two of my favorite Galapagos Islands. You will have a chance to spot the magnificent Galapagos Albatross in Española as well as a sea lion ¨nursery¨as you land on the island.

tip top ii catamaran

In Floreana, you will have a chance to learn some Galapagos history. When you visit Post Office Bay you can take part in a tradition started by the whalers of yesteryear. In the afternoon you visit Cormorant point. Here you will encounter a green sand beach, spot pink flamingoes along the way, and end up at a white sand beach known as “Flour Beach”.

Option 2- 4 Day Itinerary

This is a short version of the 8-day Option 2 itinerary. It goes up north to Genovesa and visits Santa Fe Islands.

Option 2 – 5 Day Galapagos Cruise

This is one of my favorite 5 Day Galapagos cruise itineraries out there. You get to visit two Galapagos highlights in style – Española and Floreana.

Española provides a great wildlife experience. You will swim with sea lions, spot the albatross and get to see a wonderful Galapagos landscape.

Floreana is a jam-packed visitor site, you learn about Galapagos history, you get to see flamingos and possibly penguins. When I visited Floreana back in the day, I was able to see penguins when we landed. Flamingos on the way to the other side of the island where we saw sea turtles hatching and scurrying to the water. Truly a magnificent 5 days in the Galapagos Islands.

Connoisseur Tip:

As usual, I would recommend taking a week-long itinerary, Option I to be exact. But, if you don’t have a week to spare for the Galapagos, I would go for the shorter 5-day Galapagos cruise itinerary. The aforementioned visit Floreana and Española in style and will provide a great experience aboard a fantastic catamaran.

Keep in mind that the Tip Top II and the rest of the Tip Top fleet have some amazing last minute deals you can take advantage of, just inquire with your personal Connoisseur.

Get ready for a TIP TOP Galapagos Experience, aboard the ”new” Tip Top II!
