Easterns Bayside Blues and Wine Festival

Easterns Bayside Blues and Wine Festival

Saturday, Aug 12, 2023 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm

Eastern's Bayside Blues & Wine Festival has become an annual event that many people look forward to attending each year. We love hearing our fans rave about the event and how they love the music, the great selection of wines, and the comfortable atmosphere along the waterfront.

Come and enjoy the exceptional Blues musicians from the tri-state area. It is our pleasure to bring to the community an event that fulfills many likes. We take pleasure in supporting the Blues industry and providing more exposure for our local musicians. So come down for the day to enjoy the festivities and make special memories. We promise you will not be disappointed.

Band Lineup: D'Vibe and Conga On Stage: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm The World's Most Dangerous Yacht Rock Band is in the house~! From All Green to Jethro Tull (huh?) to Frank Sinatra. You won't believe your ears. Or eyes. Come grab a couple beverages & groove!

Bees Deluxe On Stage: 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm Bees Deluxe is a full-tilt, acid blues collective comprised of Boston-based musicians. Their unique repertoire includes originals and re-interpreted 60s, 70s, and 80s covers from Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Joe Zawinul, Charles Mingus, B.B. King, Kenny Burrell, Freddie King, Herbie Hancock, Albert King, Etta James, Muddy Waters, The Meters, Little Feat, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, Roy Buchanan, Curtis Mayfield, The Butterfield Blues Band, Derek Trucks, Donny Hathaway, Amy Winehouse, Steely Dan, Etta James, ZZ Top, Robben Ford, Bonnie Raitt, Bobby 'Blue' Bland, SoulLive, Derek and the Dominoes, Robert Cray, Edgar Winter, among many others. Taking the road less traveled, they discover and share off-the-beaten songs and instrumentals and fuse them into their own original works. They dare to be risk-takers on stage, digging deep into the vaults of blues/jazz antiquity. The result is an effortless take-no-prisoners-approach that wittingly captures the audience's hearts

Old Man Mojo On Stage: 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm The Classic Blues Band, Old Man Mojo have been together for fifteen years! The band is comprised of veteran club and session players from the mid-Atlantic. Andy Hamburger, percussionist, is perhaps the most talented and therefore busiest drummer in the region with a resume littered with the names of who’s-who in music business. Joe Martone, always recognized as a gifted keyboardist, and talented vocalist brings his giant skills to the Hammond B3 organ. Joey Martone cooks like crazy on both acoustic and electric basses, while Jim “Doc” Rosenthal, guitarist, brings his swinging blues mastery to the band. Rounding out the group is vocalist and recording artist Lane Whigham, known for his strong stage presence and guttural, authentic blues sound. Our repertoire includes early Delta and Chicago blues tunes, urban swing and funk from the fifties and sixties, as well as original tunes and jazz standards. We perform as the full five-piece ensemble noted above, and we also have a duo presentation as well, with Lane and Jim on guitars and Lane on vocals, for smaller venues.

Moonshine Society On Stage: 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm Moonshine Society gives a big nod to Aesop’s theory that we’re known by the company we keep. So while staking claim to lofty Music Land real estate of their own with a searing, cutting-edge blend of blues, soul, rock and R&B, they continue to rack up powerhouse stripes rubbing elbows with the best. Johnny Winter, Gov’t Mule, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Tower of Power, John Mayall, Roomful of Blues, John Mayer and Ron Holloway count among the legends the band and its members have accompanied and opened for, not to mention other greats as Tab Benoit, George Clinton and the Funkadelic, Danny Gatton and Samantha Fish. Moonshine Society is the offspring of three promising young music scholars who came together at Boston’s renown Berklee College of Music. Of like minds and musical passions, they united in 2009 to create their own brand of soulful blues, roots rock and old-school R&B–if a fundamental definition is actually required. In truth, they teamed to craft their own formula of music that speaks to the soul and defies the labels of traditional musical confines. The trio sealed their pact one moonlit night in the Anacostia Delta, where then and there, their name became written in the stars. They were to be Moonshine Society. Little did they know on that fateful night that they were buckled in on a launching pad set to rocket them at dizzying speed to performance destinations of their wildest dreams throughout the US and the world. In retrospect, though, it’s little wonder considering the band’s composition of killer talent, now four-plus strong. Leading the troupe is impassioned, soulful singer and songwriter Black Betty, who has shared the stage with such musical greats as Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks and Jack Pearson of Allman Brothers fame, Susan Tedeschi of the Tedeschi Trucks band and Jimmy Vivino from “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”.  Part vamp and part glamour girl, she is all-commanding in her on-stage deliveries and becomes pure sorceress spellbinding audiences with her searing hot vocals. To quote from her sizzlingly seductive rendition of “Fever” –what a lovely way to burn.

The windy Russian autumn weather might be a little bit tricky for sailing, but it doesn’t stop brave yachtsmen from all over the world from flocking to Russian capital in the beginning of September when the Moscow Yacht Show commences. The main Russian Yacht exhibition gathers professional and amateur yacht lovers together under the wing of The Royal Yacht Club.

This year it took place for a fourth time already. The exhibition is considered the principal event on the sporting and social calendar. The Moscow Yacht Show 2010 united in one area three of the largest Russian yachts distributors: Ultramarine, Nordmarine and Premium Yachts.

A wide range of yachts were on display for a week. An exhibition showcased yachts both from Russian manufacturers and world famous brands: Azimut, Princess, Ferretti, Pershing, Riviera, Doral, Linssen, etc.

It was a real feast for seafarers as visitors of the show had a unique chance not only to take a look at the newest superyachts before they hit the market, but also to evaluate their driving advantages during the test drive. The show provided an excellent opportunity for yacht enthusiasts to choose and buy a new boat for the next season.

The event started with the grandiose gala evening. It included grand dinner, the concert and professional awards ceremony for achievements in Russian yachting industry. The guests also enjoyed the annual regatta.

Special guest Paolo Vitelli, Azimut Benetti Group president, opened the evening.

Next year organizers assured guests they would bring more yachts, the scale of which will even make oligarch Roman Abramovich envious. Sounds very promising indeed.
