The standard layout comprises of an Owners cabin forward, two aft guest cabins and a crew cabin forward all with en suite. A spacious saloon and galley together with a dedicated forward-facing nav station complete the interior. Other layouts are available.

Styling as a standard is based on ‘New England’ white panelling with teak horizontal surfaces creating a very light and airy feel. Other more traditional finishes are available.

The exterior styling was inspired by Hoek’s involvement with the Wally Nano project with its low wraparound glass creating a slightly modern look to the boat. For those who would prefer a more traditional look a coach roof with wood veneered sides is an option.

The cockpit is vast and brilliantly laid out. Its an area where eight can dine in comfort, one can sail and trim the Yacht without leaving the helm with a large sunbathing deck aft. The mainsheet and traveller are mounted on the coach roof allowing for a full bimini under sail and keeping the guests away from the sheets.

A very generous sail plan, long waterline due to the plumb bow, deep t keel and spade rudder with a relatively shallow underbody mean great performance in all conditions. With a sail area/displacement of about 28 she’s able to sail in even 5 knots of true wind – please contact us for her VPP’s – you may be surprised.

To achieve the performance brief it required the construction to be both light and strong. Hulls/decks have a Gurit Coracell M foam core with carbon skins with all interior Bulkheads, Deck and Furniture taped into the hull to create a high strength monocoque structure.

For safety, the yachts have watertight bulkheads fore and aft with alarms as well as a crash box on the lower part of the bow as a further safety feature.

55' Pilot Classic For Sale

The PC 55 was developed for Performance Classic Yachts following on from the successful PC66 project. Performance Classic Yachts is a UK company that is developing Pilot Classic Designs to our designs and have a range of yachts in design and build. The PC 55 that is launched early 2017 is a development of the previously built PC66 Mazu, slightly smaller in size and built as a performance family yacht. This first 55 is the prototype of a new series built PC 55 and a stunningly beautiful yacht that can be sailed shorthanded. Hull No.1 is built in full composites with a foam core, glass and epoxy with carbon reinforcements but for further hulls a carbon skin is an option. The design is extensively optimized for performance with a T shaped keel, spade rudder with carbon spars. The standard draft is 2.7m but depending on requirements this can be reduced or extended. The exterior can be either ‘modern’ with wrap around windows or more traditional with teak veneer illustrated in the renders. A large cockpit and a very flush coach roof mean lots of usable space. The interior layout has a large owner cabin forward with en suite and two guest cabins aft one of them with en suite all done in ‘New England’ styling.
