Boatshed Kent are pleased to be presenting this unique steel motor yacht which was built to the design of a Scandinavian trawler in Norway and fitted out in London, as a yacht.

When I visited this yacht I could see she has plenty of space outside and in, and provides an opportunity for both living onboard and for extensive cruising. From the history, and as detailed in the listing, we can see that this boat has benefited from extensive investment and refurbishment.

The forward decks are wide and provide plenty of working space. With the addition of a wheelhouse creating an extension of the living space and all round views and protection from the weather and for relaxing in.

She is tidy and well presented, with good accommodation, headroom and space throughout and providing plenty of storage. With a light spacious master cabin and an open, spacious saloon providing two further drop down double berths, also with a separate well equipped galley and heads with a shower. Lovely woodwork and a traditional yet contemporary feel. Currently she is also self sufficient and ideal for off-grid living.

Due to unfortunate circumstances this is a reluctant sale.

With a little exterior painting, this is an ideal opportunity to purchase a boat with a range of potential uses, an ideal and attractive live-aboard or cruising platform.

About this Boat

She has been well looked after with one owner from new in 2015 and is ideal for spending time on the coast or discovering the waterways.

The large sociable cockpit of the Duchy 27 gives a spacious area to entertain guests, the wide teak decks give safe and easy access around the boat.  There is a folding table in oak, perfect for a lunch on the water.

The cockpit is partially covered by a fixed roof. This allows you to enjoy the fresh air whilst at the same time being protected from the wind and spray. She features a walk-through transom leading to a GRP bathing platform with teak decking.

The Galley is on the Portside of the cabin and features a combined single burner gas hob and sink with hot and cold mixer tap.

The forward cabin is accessed by a sliding acrylic door, the seating area has an infill and can convert into a double bed.

The separate heads compartment (located on the starboard side) features a washbasin, an electric toilet and there is a deck shower.

Fitted with a Nanni T4.165  with trolling valve for very low speeds. Also equipped with shore power, a battery charger and an immersion heater.

Daniel Bombigher Shpountz 44-40 schooner launched in the south of France in 2012. She was taken on a cruise across the Atlantic, up to Nova Scotia and back to Panama. Sadly the owners suffered health issues and their planned circumnavigation was cut short and the boat was shipped back to France in 2016. She has since been laid up in a large shed, fully winterised and protected awaiting her next owner to continue the adventure. the design was intended as a long distance blue water cruising boat, spacious, capable and easy to handle. She has very shallow draft and a centreplate allowing her to access inshore areas usually off limits to a yacht of this length. 8 berths in a stunning interior. Fully equipped with all the necessary systems for long distance sailing. The yacht has had its shakedown cruise, all the normal issues with a new boat have been shaken out and she is in great shape for her next adventure.

G.L. Watson Gaff Cutter

launched in 1887, she was designed by the great G.L. Watson with inspiration from the Scottish Loch Fyne Skiffs. Her interior was designed by her first owner, Robert Cowan Robertson, who was an artist in the Glasgow area and created a spectacular interior design that has survived the passage of time and is nearly all original today. Her saloon joinery has been carefully restored to keep all the original panelling and features and needed only minimal repairs. Her saloon is a completely unique work of art. The yacht was totally rebuilt between 2009 and 2017 with 80% new planking and frames, new deck and all new systems. The restoration was sympathetic to the original design and has resulted in a very special and unique vessel that is in superb condition.

The rebuild was very thorough with only a few small parts of the original boat left, the work has been done to a very high standard and the yacht is in excellent condition. She is smaller than most pilot cutters making her much easier to handle so she can be sailed with only 2 people. 7 berths including a double in the saloon.
