YKP Dawniej i Dziś

Na początku lat dwudziestych ubiegłego wieku wraz z odradzającą się Polską, grupa jachtsmenów dla których Honor i Ojczyzna była priorytetem, stworzyli Stowarzyszenie, które stało się jednym z pierwszych Klubów jachtowych. Od najwyższych władz Państwa uzyskali prawo do noszenia Bandery Marynarki Wojennej z godłem YKP. Bandera ta jest do dziś symbolem naszego patriotyzmu i najlepszych tradycji jachtingu. Znamiennym jest to, że tylko jeden klub żeglarski w naszym kraju posiada ten przywilej. YKP stał się współzałożycielem PZŻ i tym samym wnioskodawcą i współtwórcą struktur żeglarskich. Nasi komandorzy od zarania pełnili i pełnią wysokie funkcje w strukturach PZŻ. Pierwszym Wiceprezesem PZŻ był Wicekomandor oraz Współzałożyciel YKP Antoni Aleksandrowicz. Kadra YKP stworzyła bazę legislacyjną – przepisy regatowe nadzoru technicznego, bezpieczeństwa dla żeglarstwa polskiego. Pierwsze konstrukcje jachtów powstawały w YKP. Pomimo burz historii, nawet za czasów okupacji kontynuowaliśmy działalność szkoląc między innymi żołnierzy AK, a nawet organizowaliśmy regaty na Wiśle. Trwamy niezmiennie 95 lat dzięki zawsze ogromnemu zaangażowaniu społecznemu naszych Członków, dzięki zachowaniu najlepszych tradycji żeglarskich na śródlądziu i morzu w oparciu o nasz niezmienny statut, ubiory i Banderę, którą z dumą noszą nasze Kluby w kraju i polonijne w USA, Anglii, Niemczech. Żeglarstwo to stara i szacowna sztuka. Z wielowiekowej tradycji morskiej narodził się jasno określony wzór zachowań, konwenans towarzyski oraz wyjątkowy ceremoniał. Ideą Ocean Challenge Yacht Club jest pielęgnowanie i propagowanie nagromadzonych przez pokolenia zwyczajów i doświadczeń – żeglarskiego systemu wartości.

Podstawowym elementem misji Klubu jest tworzenie pomostu pomiędzy wspaniałą tradycją polskiego żeglarstwa, a nowoczesnym jachtingiem. Warto pamiętać o tym, jak wiele kamieni milowych w historii marynistyki stawiali właśnie nasi rodacy. Te sukcesy nierzadko są kontynuowane przez kolejne pokolenie ludzi morza.

The key role in the Club's mission is to continue to build a bridge between the great traditions of Polish sailing and the modern yachting. It is worth remembering how many milestones in the history of sailing, globally, were placed by our countrymen. Their successes are often continued by the new generation of men and women of the sea. To serve this purpose, and to support, the Ocean Challenge Yacht Club has a deep commitment to yachting and organises a full programme of racing and social activities throughout the year.

D.O. Cava/ Spain, Macabeo/Parellada A fine blend composition. Delicate straw-yellow color, pleasant, fresh, fruity aromas. Elegant and refreshing wine.

Vinicola Serena / Veneto, Italy Wine color is light gold, with subtle aromas of citrus and summer flowers. It has a refreshing and delicate taste, perfect for everyday enjoyment, with meals, or for casual occasions. It pairs very well with Italian cuisine, especially light pastas, white meat, and seafood.

AOC Chablis/ France/ Bourgogne Chardonnay An intense, bright color enriched with greenish tints. This wine impresses both in aroma and taste with the intensity of fruit, featuring dominant citrus and peach notes with a hint of white flowers and honeysuckle.

Chardonnay/Solaris/Lubuskie, Poland A full-bodied, balanced, and expressive wine. A burst of aromas with ripe peach, melon, pear, pineapple, a hint of honey, acacia flowers, and apple preserves. It leaves soft, buttery-citrus nuances on the palate.

Waipara/ New Zealand, Sauvignon Blanc It stands out with a light, straw-like color and aromas of lychee, melon, and grapefruit with a pleasant mineral quality. In the mouth, it is delicate, full-bodied, with a citrus accent.

Gewurztraminer, AOC Alsace/ France, Gewurztraminer This wonderful dry wine has enchanting, intense aromas of rose, lychee, and mandarin.

DOCG Gavi/ PARETO'S/ Italy, Cortese Straw-yellow color with characteristic green reflections. The bouquet is intense, filled with fruit and spring wildflower notes. In taste, there are accents of apples, peaches, with subtle citrus in the background. It has a rounded profile with nicely pronounced acidity.

AVA Central Coast California/ USA, Chardonnay The bouquet is fresh, full of apples and citrus flowers. In taste, it's mineral yet creamy, with a beautiful fruitiness accentuated by a hint of vanilla.

DO Valle del Maule/ Chile, Chardonnay Light gold in color, it is full of concentrated fruity aromas - intense notes of papaya, peaches, delicate vanilla, as well as pear and honey. Perfectly balanced with a subtly sweet aftertaste that lingers in the mouth, transitioning into a full and long finish.

DOCA Rioja/ Spain, Viura/Tempranillo Blanco/Sauvignon Blanc Gently dry and fresh in taste, with pleasant aromas and well-balanced acidity.

IGT VENETO/ ITALY Delicate and fresh, with a pale straw color and an intense bouquet of fresh fruits and white flowers. In the mouth, it is delicate and elegant, with well-balanced notes of ripe tropical fruits and apples.

Darling/ Sauvignon Blanc/ RPA Straw color with green highlights. Subtle tropical fruits with characteristic ripe yellow peach and gooseberry. Elegant, lively acidity. An ideal partner for seafood and chicken salads. The alcohol is removed from the wine using the spinning cone method, ensuring that the aroma and taste remain unchanged.

Vinicola Serena / Veneto, Italy The wine has a red color with garnet reflections. It has an aroma of cherries and raspberries. This delicate red wine has a mild structure and subtle aromas reminiscent of mature dark cherries. It is excellent with light dishes, appetizers, cold cuts, pizza, and pasta dishes.

DOC Amarone della Valpolicella/ Vento/ Italy, Corvina/Molinara/Rondinella The color is intensely red. In the aroma, you can find red fruit jam and spices. The taste is smooth and round, juicy and full, with a nicely preserved fruity character.

DOGC Morelino di Scansano/ Toscany/ Italy A wine with an interesting structure, a dark ruby color, full of aromas of black, ripe cherries, blackberries, licorice, and vanilla. In the mouth, it is round and soft, with a juicy fruit aftertaste.

DOCA Rioja/ Spain, Tempranillo/Graciano Intensely purple with brownish reflections. Highly aromatic, with notes of spices, forest fruits, ripe strawberries, plums, cherries, as well as coconut and smoke. In the mouth, it is full and round, with well-defined tannins. Perfectly harmonious, with a very long and persistent finish.

DO Valle del Maule/ Chile, Gran Reserva Carmenere Intensely purple color. The bouquet features aromas of ripe plums, tobacco, and smoke, with a slight hint of black pepper and paprika. Silky smooth palate with velvety, sweet tannins. The finish is long with toasty notes.

AVA Central Coast California/ USA Zinfandel The aroma carries notes of blackberries, currants, and strawberry jam, enriched with hints of vanilla and oak. In taste, it's smooth and very approachable. Juicy fruitiness, an abundance of cherry and plum notes, and soft tannins.

Mendoza/ Argentina, Malbec The bouquet is full of fruit - plum and quince aromas elegantly intertwine with oak notes. In the mouth, it's full of black fruits with a hint of licorice. Slightly spicy and dense. Rich and long finish with accents of smoke and vanilla.

IGP Puglia/ Italy, Primitivo Ruby color with violet reflections. Intense fruity aroma dominated by plums and cherries. Full, soft, and nicely balanced in the mouth.

AOC Bordeaux/ France, Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon Beautiful, ruby robe, a very fruity bouquet with the dominant qualities of the Merlot grape. In the mouth, there's a harmony between roundness and delicacy, a full body with elegant notes of dark berry fruits.

DOC DOURO/ Portugal, Moscatel Galego Fortified wine with the addition of brandy. Excellent, sweet, full of enticing aromas of honey, orange zest, and fruit preserves.

BODEGAS FARINA DO Toro/ Hiszpania, Tinta de Toro Excellent dry Rosé. Noticeable intense aromas of red fruits, mainly raspberries and strawberries. Rich and full in the mouth.

YKP SAN FRANCISCO

YACHT KLUB POLSKI SAN FRANCISCO (Yacht Club of Poland San Francisco) was founded in November of 2000 as a chapter of the Warsaw-based Yacht Club of Poland. The Yacht Club of Poland was established in 1924 as a nation-wide organization with the right to create affiliated clubs in various locations. The club was dissolved during the years 1951-1956. In 1959 individual chapters gained organizational autonomy, acting in association with numerous clubs under the Main Council in Warsaw. The Yacht Club of Poland has over 1600 members, and its fleet consists of 600 vessels. One of the founders and first commodores of the Yacht Club of Poland was Mariusz Zaruski, a Brigadier-General in the Polish Army , and pioneer of Polish sports yachting.

Continuing the long and rich tradition of the Yacht Club of Poland, our mission is to extend its activities to the San Francisco Bay and open our membership to all those interested in sailing. It is our goal to further develop conditions conducive to the cultivation of sailing traditions, perfecting sailing skills, and sailing camaraderie.

YKP SAN FRANCISCO powstał w listopadzie 2000 roku jako członek stowarzyszenia Yacht Klub Polski z siedzibą w Warszawie.Yacht Klub Polski założony został w roku 1924 jako organizacja ogólnopolska z prawem tworzenia oddziałów terenowych. W latach 1951-1956 klub uległ likwidacji. W roku 1959 oddziały uzyskały samodzielność organizacyjną, działając w stowarzyszeniu kilkunastu klubow z Zarządem Głównym w Warszawie. Yacht Klub Polski zrzesza ponad 1600 żeglarzy, a flotylla jego liczy około 600 jednostek. Jednym z założycieli i pierwszym komandorem YKP był Mariusz Zaruski. Hołdując długoletniemu istnieniu klubu chcemy rozszerzyć jego działalność na obszar zatoki San Francisco i udostępnić możliwość przynależności do niego wszystkim miłośnikom żeglarstwa.
