Thank you for your interest in the Oak Harbor Yacht Club. We are Whidbey Island's premier waterfront venue in Oak Harbor. Our beautiful Commodores Ballroom has breathtaking views overlooking the marina, the harbor, and the Olympic Mountains. Your guests will love our beautiful wrap around deck with seating during your event, it's perfect for sunset photos. The ballroom can accommodate 120 guests.

In partnership with the city of Oak Harbor, we can also offer Catalina Park that is adjacent to our property for larger outdoor ceremonies, receptions and parties. The park features a large waterfront grass area and beautifully hand crafted gazebo.

Weather you are planning the perfect destination wedding to beautiful Whidbey Island or you are coming home to celebrate with family and friends The Oak Harbor Yacht Club is the perfect waterfront backdrop for your rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, late night after party, or morning after brunch. Oak Harbor Yacht Club Events

The Oak Harbor Yacht Club proudly offers a fun and relaxed environment of camaraderie and sportsmanship. We promote an interest in boating and encourage boating-related activities, as well as social activities year-round! The OHYC continues the traditions of the original Deception Pass Boat Club, of which the OHYC is a direct descendant.

Oak Harbor Yacht Club is a boating organization. However, membership is open to non-boaters and boaters alike. Our full range of social activities include burger/potluck Fridays, and cook-your-own chicken/steak Wednesdays. We also enjoy monthly social dinner events in our ballroom that provide a warm and friendly forum for the exchange of boating (and NON-boating) experiences.

The Clubroom is open Wednesday through Saturday for cocktails. Thursdays are sail boat races. Traditional annual events include Opening Day, 4th of July, the Children's Fishing Derby, Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, Commodore’s Ball, and New Year's Eve Ball. These events are augmented by other monthly events based on holidays or themes.

Our Ballroom is available for private parties and may be rented to either members or non-members.  

The Cruise Fleet sponors several area

cruises for both power and sail boats each year. These include weekend/holiday cruises to the San Juan Islands, extended cruises to the Canadian Islands, the South Sound, and other fun places. In addition, the Cruise Fleet sponsors Anchoring 101, an excellent experience for new boaters.

The Sail Fleet hosts year-round racing. The season kicks off with Thursday night sailing through September and several regattas throughout the rest of the year.

Oak Harbor Yacht Club is the host of some major regattas in the Puget Sound.   Round Whidbey in  May,  San Juan 24 North American Championship in July ,  and the Scott Cline Memorial Regatta in October.

Oak Harbor Yacht Club is also host to Whidbey Island Race Week, a four-day regatta and a 35 year tradition.  Visit www.whidbeyislandraceweek.com for registration, sailing instruction and more information.

America’s Boating Club of Deception Pass  and the Oak Harbor Yacht Club are sponsoring a marine buy-sell-swap meet on Saturday, June 8 at the Oak Harbor Yacht Club from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will also feature low-cost, clean and inspected crab gear for sale.

Club Commander Jerry Liggett noted that this is a community member event for marine and boating-related items only, and no professional vendors will be allowed. He added, “Bring cash and stock up on used and useful tools, marine hardware, supplies and more.  For those of you looking to reduce the amount of your boating ‘stuff’, this is the place to bring it!”

Liggett reminds boaters that the crab pot sale has become a highly anticipated, regular community event. He predicts the crab gear will go fast. It is clean and inspected, and includes the pot, approximately 80 feet of leaded line, new rot cord, bait bags or boxes, and Washington State legal floats in the size and color required. The pots are priced starting at $25, ranging up to $50 for stainless steel pots. Cash or checks made out to DPSPS will be accepted, and no credit or debit card transactions are available. Due to popular demand, no early-bird shoppers will be admitted, and pots are limited to first-come, first-served.  “The cost to buy the gear brand new could easily exceed one hundred dollars. Just add bait and you are crabbing!”

For those wishing to sell marine-related items, the boating club recommends bringing your own setup materials, such as tarps, tents, tables, etc. They will not be provided. Setup starts no earlier than 9:30 a.m. and space must be vacated by 2:30 p.m. The club provides no payment systems, and there is no wifi on site. Participants must bring their own change and decide their own credit card or check policies.

The Oak Harbor Yacht Club is a private club, boat ownership is not a requirement for membership. Members enjoy social events, boat cruising, sailboat racing, and reciprocal moorage at other clubs.

Event Pricing

Weekend Events: Friday through Sunday- $1150, up to 175 guests Week Day use: Daytime use from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM- $100 per hour. We typically host lunches, family events, and meetings during this time. Weekday Evening use: Monday-Thursday After 4:00 PM- $150 per hour. Evening meetings, parties, and weddings may be held at this rate.

Membership Opportunities

Membership in the Oak Harbor Yacht Club. Membership Certificates are currently available! Our total membership is limited to 300 certificates (i.e. families). Dues for new member applicants are pro-rated based upon the date of your membership application being accepted at the Club.

Membership is open to all and boat ownership is not a requirement. The application process can take up to two months. During this time, we encourage applicants to visit the Club, participate in the current activities and become acquainted with other members.

The Membership Chairperson and your sponsor will assist in the application process. If you do not personally know a current member/sponsor at the Oak Harbor Yacht Club, please contact the Membership Chairperson at [email protected]
