Thanksgiving Dinner Cruise

We were in town for the holiday and thought why not, The food was fair. The service was ok. The drink menu had no price tags on it. Because it was the 6pm sailing we saw very little of the river. I would not be back.

This is a nice cruise around Savannah. Narration was very informative. We took a combo tour with the Savannah Trolly Company and saved some money. We purchased the tour at our hotel. They came and picked us at the hotel and took us to the visitor center to begin the Trolly tour. When the tour was over they put us back on the van and took us to the riverfront for the boat tour. It made for a nice day. The people were overly friendly and well informed. I would highly recommend these tours.

This was not a good tour! The boat is old and dirty. It was cold and windy when we went and many of the windows inside were so dirty, you couldn't even see out. They take a photo of you as you board the boat and then try to sell them to you for $25.

The riverboat dinner cruise was entertaining and a lot of fun. The food was good and the entertainment was great. We had a DJ that kept people dancing and having a good time. It was nice to see the riverfront at night.

I took the night Dinner cruse on the Savannah river last week. The boat had three bars and a great buffet style dinner. The boat looked like it could hold about 500 people and there were maybe 200 on it. There were plenty of nice quiet spots to just see the view on the top deck. On the middle deck there was a band, dance floor and the dinning area. The food was really good the slow cruse up the river was really nice. We left from the dock right off of the main street in the old town. It was an easy walk from the Marriott where I was staying. I would recommend this trip to anyone. It was great.

This is simple riverboat tour that does a full circle of the main areas of the river. If you listen to the narration you get a great history of the area and it's commercial works now. We took the afternoon tour and received a discount having booked it with a trolley tour, with that deal you pay $14.00 for the tour, which seems like a bargain for a 90 minute boat ride. The food and bar on board for non catered cruises is basic snacks and drinks but you can bring your own on if you want. we thought the cruise was a nice break and a good history lesson of the area.

Savannah Riverboat tours leave the dock right next to the exact location where General Oglethrope first landed on the river front and head upriver, into the Port of Savannah and then turn around and head back under the Eugene Talmadge Memorial Bridge and past the historic river front. The tours continue downriver passing the world famous Waving Girl, Florence Martus, through the ship yards and just past the tip of Hutchinson Island and Old Fort Jackson.  There, the boat circles back upriver to arrive gently back at the dock.

 The Georgia Queen can hold up to 1,000 passengers and another riverboat, the Savannah River Queen can hold up to 600 passengers.  You can expect to cruise with at least a couple of hundred other people.

Decorated in traditional riverboat red, white, and blue, floating palaces continue to transport visitors back to a time when elegance and relaxation were expected from river travel. There are a variety of hour and a half cruises including the ever-popular Sightseeing Cruise, the Dinner Entertainment Cruise, special Luncheon trips, Sunday Brunch, the beautiful Sunset Cruise and the Moonlight Party Cruise depending on your taste. There is a tour experience for everyone. The dinner cruises are unguided; the sightseeing, lunch and brunch cruises has a live guide.

Both riverboats offer a glass-enclosed climate-controlled dining and observation deck with panoramic views, open-air patio, and has numerous bench seats that line the upper decks for incredible city views and plenty of sunshine.. Anytime is a good time for a cruise down the river.
