Description

The total area of the decks of this Italian motor yacht on two dozen square meters larger than the area of a tennis court. Unusual case Ace with a vertical stem for the efficiency is 10% higher than traditional buildings with kruglenkoye frames. The main feature of the yacht is located aft owner's cabin, from which through the transparent door can be accessed directly at the "beach" swim platform. Guests have two small cabins in the bow, but if you want to fit more passengers, instead of one master cabin you can order a double mirror VIP-apartments. The interior of the vessel is practically devoid of bulkheads and all the closed part of the main deck is a single room with a panoramic view. Giant garage Wally Ace c side the door is placed a 6-meter RIB, and a special system allows to fill tanks directly from the parent yacht. At cruising speed 9-11 knots equipped with gyroscopic stabilizers pitching of the ship has an incredible cruising range 8,000 miles.

Christie yachts is delighted to announce its appointment as exclusive central agents for the sale of the stunning 27m wally motor yacht, alexandra.

A fantastic opportunity to purchase the fifth and final hull in the iconic WallyAce series and the highest spec of them all.

ALEXANDRA was delivered in 2018 by Wally Yachts and is one of the most impressive and distinctive sub-30m yachts on the water today. With 280sqm of interior living space and an oversized 59sqm sun deck , the spaces are incomparable to other yachts in this size range.

One of ALEXANDRA’s best features is the exceptional master stateroom on the lower deck aft with direct access to the swim platform through huge sliding glass doors. This stateroom is similar in size to those found on many 50-60m yachts. The swim platform was extended on this particular boat and features an oversized hydraulic transformer which lowers to below the waterline and is also used for boarding from the dock.

The initial interior design was completed by the highly acclaimed Alberto Pinto and refreshed by the current owners over the course of an extensive 6 month refit in 2021/2022 . During this refit, the current owners, who have a superb eye for detail, made significant cosmetic and technical upgrades to the boat. Among the upgrades were CMC fin stabilizers which were retrofitted to enhance the stability of the yacht in addition to the existing gyro stabilizer so the yacht is incredibly stable both underway and at anchor.

Despite being 27.3m in overall length, ALEXANDRA has a waterline length under 24m meaning she is not affected by anchoring restrictions in the Mediterranean which is a huge bonus for owners who like to cruise in the South of France area.

An intelligent, revolutionary and really elegant small ship. Another Wally Yacht off the drawing board, built to  cruise extensively and anywhere.

To quote John Lennon: “ Life is what happens to you when you’re busied in other occupations”, this quote perfectly explains something more about Wally Yacht.  While some firms may be focused on inventing something substantially new,  or are perhaps seeking to surprise with special effects, and while innovation – real  innovation is  happening elsewhere.

Well chez Wally it was already happening years ago in their sailing yachts projects. No one can deny, or doubt that with boat handling made easy, clean uncluttered lines and minimalist design, Luca Bassani’s idea has left its mark in all the Superyacht sailing segment for years to come and is still doing just that with a difference.

This time he’s trying the same thing in small ships’ design as well as explorer type vessels, long range ones or blue water ones too, call them as you will. Though the Monaco based brand is late, since this trend has been around for some time now and since many companies in these latitudes have already “invented” as it were. Realistically speaking one cannot just improvise at inventing anything, and once the policy to build small ships  (navette)  was decided on,  Wally’s team came up with something very interesting and very beautiful.

In a nutshell, while the rest of the world was  just living  Wally’s think tank was already well underway. Wally Ace is a truly intriguing yacht while sporting in essence the lines of  a sailing boat’s hull below the waterline .

The project was developed with Allseas and her slim piercing lines from the bows to amidships wherefrom they spread out rapidly to even out flat in the stern. The hull’s designed to reduce friction when underway, to cruise well, extensively and slowly.

And here lies the secret. If the very essence of blue deep water sailing were to underscore a prevailing  experience rather than the vessel deployed for the purpose, and the art of sailing over and above standing out of the chorus line for its boastful looks, well it is these things which  have to rank first and take the lion’s share while the rest is left behind in the wakes of her spinning propellers.

Wally Ace can cruise at 10 knots across oceans for more than 4,000 nautical miles, with a range of up to 10,000 sea miles at 8 knots without refuelling. Thanks to the hull’s special design the yacht is powered by  two 385 HP engines only (which are normally on the  small side for a yacht of equal size and displacement) that have been installed amidships and perfectly sound proofed by the engine room.

Small engines translate into lower fuel consumption but also appreciably low noise levels which is another of Wally Ace’s features. All in all noise levels and vibrations are imperceptible anywhere and more so in the stern area.

The cabins in the stern take after a pre-adopted layout solution already deployed in Wally sailing yachts where the stern area is reserved for the owner and guests while crew quarters and galley have been situated in the bow.

The beauty of this astounding solution means that the cabins astern are flush with the beach platform and just a hair’s width away from  surrounding waters. A fascinating idea when underway (and don’t even think about speeds of 30 knots, exhaust fumes and noise) and more so when at anchor in a bay.

Being situated so far behind means making the most of a 7.75 metre beam, especially when considering the Wally Ace version which sports a single enormous stern suite rather than  two which we visited during the trials of the Wally number 1 version.

A further two cabins are situated amidships for the yacht’s guests. While they can’t match the same breathtaking stern ocean view as the owner’s suite they are nevertheless bright with plenty of natural light thanks to ample cut glass window panelling along each of the sides.

The engine room  mentioned earlier has been installed amidships of this 24 metre yacht which also houses  a garage along the upper section in which to stow the eight metre long (custom built) tender manufactured by a British firm which is normally launched and recovered through a side opening and a special davit/hoist and a sophisticated liquid ballast system which makes it easy enough to deploy as it counterbalances the weight of the tender during launch and recovery operations.

Still on the subject of on board comfort Wally Ace comes equipped with a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer which is a “must have” due to its special hull shape.  A large open plan space hosts a central saloon area which is truly convivial and welcoming. It is furnished with a bar and large counter, followed by a drawing room, and communicating dining area with ocean views since  full surround glass panels envelop  this entire structure for 360°. Towards the bow a cut glass panel separates the helm/controls station. At night a push button screen can shut off any  light coming into the helm/controls station from the saloon and dining areas.

The fly teak lined deck  can be furnished and set up at will according to owner requests. The fact this deck is free of steps and of a second helm /controls station make it highly customizable and potentially versatile.

The Number1 version we were on board of sported a truly minimalist approach in that there was nothing more than an equipped centrally placed bar with teak accessories and rare white cloth. The bow  hosts the “al fresco” dining area inasmuch as the traditional stern cockpit can double as a sun bathing area with a horseshoe sofa at the centre of which there’s a table which when requested can be  lowered to double as a sun pad.

Wally Yachts introduces the latest Wallyace 27

She is named Private GG

Wally Yachts has presented the fifth hull in the Wallyace 27 series.

The 27m vessel is the only displacement yacht in her size range to offer more than 160 square meters of living space and 130 square meters of space outside.

She was designed in collaboration with the Allseas studio and features an interior by Alberto Pinto Design.

“With Private GG we have upgraded the 27 Wallyace introducing larger unobstructed windows of the superstructure to enhance the inside-outside living experience.” says Luca Bassani, Wally President.

She can accommodate seven guests in three cabins including the full-beam owner's suite. Crew quarters allows for a staff of four people.

Power is provided by two Caterpillar C12 diesel engines, each delivering 345 hp. The yacht can cruise at 12 knots.

M/Y Private GG is getting ready for the delivery to her owner, who is planning to extensively cruise throughout the Mediterranean.

Wallace "Wally" Duane Orvik, age 78 of Worley, Idaho, died Saturday in Coeur d'Alene. He was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Shelly, Minn., to Selmer and Tilda (Nygaard) Orvik. He grew up in Shelly and then served with the U.S. Army from 1944 through 1946. He moved to Spokane in 1950 where he met Alene Chugg. They were married on Sept. 12, 1950.

Wally started in car sales in Babcock Motors in 1952. Between 1957 and 1967 he went from salesman to general manager at the Utter Motor Company. He then managed McCollum Ford Sales until he purchased Wally Orvik Chev/Olds in 1968 in Moscow. He sold this business in 2000 after 48 years in car sales. Wally loved boating on Coeur d'Alene Lake. He liked to golf and fish and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Alene.

He had been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church since 1968 and served on the memorial committee. He was a member of Rotary, Elks, Ambassadors Club, and Vandal Boosters. He served a term as president of the Idaho Automobile Dealers Association and served two terms as a director on the National Automobile Dealers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Alene of Worley; a daughter and son-in-law, Shelley Rae and Rodney Dale of Moscow; a son, John W. Orvik of Post Falls, Idaho; a sister, Florence A. Orvik of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews who called him their "favorite uncle." He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Lee.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Moscow. A reception will follow at the University Inn Best Western at 12:30 p.m. The family prefers memorial contributions to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Gritman Medical Center both of Moscow. Yates Funeral Home of Coeur d'Alene is in charge of the cremation arrangements.

Princess Yachts appoints new CEO

Princess yachts has announced the appointment of will green as ceo, succeeding antony sheriff in the position….

Antony Sheriff has stepped down as CEO of the Plymouth-based yacht builder and has been replaced as CEO by Will Green, who steps up from his role as Commercial Executive Director. In February 2023 Princess Yachts , the UK's largest luxury boatbuilder was sold to KPS Capital Partners, a US-based private equity firm.

Will Green joined Princess Yachts in 2003 and has helped shape the Company as Chief Sales Officer and more recently in his position of Chief Commercial Officer. Previously Head of UK Sales at luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin, Green oversaw the strategic direction of Princess’ global sales.

“It is an honour to be appointed chief executive of Princess. Those who know me will recognise the passion I have for the brand, so this is an exciting opportunity to shape the next chapter for the business and build on its amazing legacy," said Green.

“I am excited and privileged to work alongside a very talented team that has achieved a long track record of success and, with the support of our controlling shareholder KPS Capital Partners, I know we can build on this further with investment in some key areas and by focusing on what we do best – building exceptional yachts for our customers.’
