Looking at the Wee Nip, I can't help thinking 'What a sensible boat'. Simple, no frills hull and cat rig. No need for any standing rigging. Minimal running rigging. Mast and sail could be replaced instantly with larger or smaller rig. None of the complications of so many other yachts. Full marks for simplicity.

Hello Romainpek, The Graeme Bantock WEE NIP design is an interpretation to fit within STRATHCLYDE class RC yacht rules. Yes 2.2kg is on the heavy side but the class rules stipulate that the total mass of the rigged hull should not be less than 2kg, therefore I was reasonably satisfied with my result. (Page 3 of rules)

ICICLE WEE NIP SERIES
Seven stalwarts braved the cold this Saturday for the second round of the Icicle Winter Series of club races. The wind was onshore so Mike Ewart and Keith Bell set a simple course with the start adjacent and parallel with the bank to a windward buoy and the a spreader, back to the start, which was now a gate and back to the windward buoy followed by a downwind finish.
