The Lagoon 52F is designed with the ideal mix of luxury, space and sailing ability.  Blue Moon is a 2018 model and was shipped from the factory in France directly to Phuket in December 2017.  There are five cabins - four have queen size beds plus one smaller cabin with two single bunks.  All cabins have en suite washrooms plus there are separate facilities for the crew.

Considered the best sailing destination in Asia, Phuket and Phang Nga Bay has something for everyone.  Drop anchor at an uninhabited island and share the bay with only monkeys and birds. Explore the many marine national parks with world class diving.  Arrive in style at a beach club or luxury resort.  Enjoy meals on the yacht or disembark at one of the many top restaurants along the way.

Blue Moon Yacht can be booked for trips of 4 to 14 days starting and ending at Ao Po Marina in Phuket.

Shorter trips, longer trips, events and one-way bookings can be arranged.

Crew & Services

Blue Moon is equipped with two kayaks, two paddleboards, ten sets of snorkeling equipment and a Highfield OM 390 dinghy with 40hp outboard (pictured).

Other activities can be arranged including scuba diving, kite surfing, parasailing, massage and sailing lessons.

Blue Moon is staffed by a friendly crew of two to take care of all of your needs.  The knowledgeable skipper will guide you to all the best spots while the hostess/chef keeps you well fed and your champagne glasses full.

Blue Moon is professionally managed by an international firm operating on-site at Ao Po Marina.

Getting Here

Phuket Airport completed a new international terminal in 2016 with direct flights from many countries.

Blue Moon is based at Ao Po Grand Marina in the north east of Phuket just 20-30 minutes from the airport.

Luxury superyacht BLUE MOON is a 60.35m (198') 2005 Feadship with interior design by Donald Starkey. She can accommodate up to 12 charter guests in 6 luxurious staterooms. The yacht is impeccably maintained and has one of the most exquisite Feadship interiors delivered to date.

BLUE MOON’s Master suite which is located on the main deck is approximately 1,200 sq ft and incorporates the Owner’s office and gymnasium. She offers a further five guest staterooms which are situated below deck. It is possible to combine four of these guest staterooms to create two large VIP suites, each with a sitting room and separate his and her bathroom. Therefore, on the lower Guest Level, there is the choice of a five, four, or three stateroom layout, plus guest a gymnasium. All accommodations are equipped with individual climate control, individual satellite receivers, Kaleidoscope Entertainment System, complete blackout, iPod docking station, reading lights, robes, slippers, hair-dryers, a telephone, intercom, and Wi-Fi access. All four levels of the yacht are wheelchair accessible utilizing the spectacular glass-encased elevator, or guests can instead use the spectacular iron sculpted spiral stairwell with railings on either side.

The Guest Gym is located below deck midships forward of the guest accommodations, to starboard, and features a 42” flat screen TV, 9.27 Precor USA Treadmill, Precor USA Elliptical EFX 5.2li, 5lb-40lb dumbbells, Kettler Racer Spinning Bike, Weight Bench.

BLUE MOON’s Bridge Deck Lounge has a full wet bar, a game table, sofa and lounge chairs and a 82” drop-down TV with surround sound. There is also access to an enclosed glass panel dining area with expandable table for up to 10-12 guests. The glass can be removed completely to create an al fresco dining experience if preferred. There is a cocktail area with L shaped seating aft with access to the bridge deck, walk around decks and Portuguese Bridge.

The Captain’s Office and Cabin and the Bridge Deck Pantry are situated aft of the Bridge. Guests can enjoy watching the Captain at work on the Bridge’s curved seating area.

The Observation room has panoramic views with floor to ceiling glass as well as a sunroof allowing natural light and fresh air to filter through. There is access to the walk-around decks featuring a Spa Pool forward, sunning pads, two chaise lounges, wet bar, BBQ, wind doors to port and starboard ensuring maximum protection.

Aft of the Observation room, there is an expandable oval dining table for up to 14 guests complemented by a skylight overhead. A cocktail table with chairs are situated aft, and the Bimini ensures maximum protection from the sun. A day head and exterior rain shower are also located on this deck.

BLUE MOON Yacht for Charter

Royal van Lent built the award-winning 198-foot Feadship BLUE MOON yacht in 2006. A private yacht since delivery, Blue Moon is now available for charter. Captain Emile Bootsma, who supervised the yacht’s construction in Holland, commands an international crew of up to 15.

In addition to a full-beam on-deck master suite, with office and guest room/gym, motor yacht BLUE MOON features five comfortable lower-deck staterooms. The two twin cabins connect with two queens to form suites. Each has a private bathroom, individual temperature controls, individual satellite receivers and connects to a full library of movies and DVDs through the Kaleidescape entertainment system. BLUE MOON charters give guests access to iPod stations, and WiFi is available throughout the yacht.

M/Y BLUE MOON has several dining areas, formal dining on the main deck and a panoramic dining area on the bridge deck, are available for use. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels disappear, leaving no tracks on the teak, to open the dining area to the aft deck. Sheltered by the top deck overhang, this is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner during BLUE MOON charters. The dining area aft of the sun deck is equipped with wet bar, refrigerator and grill.

For the ultimate in relaxation, the sun deck features a Jacuzzi surrounded by sun pads. If you’ve had enough sun, stunning glass elevator, which goes from lower deck to sun deck, leads to a panoramic nook, insulated from the elements, but perfect for quiet observation and reading. Scramble to find survivors after yacht sinks

Rescue efforts continue Tuesday after a luxury yacht sank in Italy off the cost of Palermo, the capital of Sicily. One person died and six people were missing after the ship sank unexpectedly following strong storms. Among those missing are British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his daughter. Jonathan Bloomer, chairman of Morgan Stanley International, and Chris Morvillo, a lawyer at Clifford Chance who represented Lynch in a U.S. trial, as well as the men's wives, were also among the missing.  Read more

A luxury yacht sinks off Sicily in a storm, survivors describe dramatic scenes. Among the missing are the "British Bill Gates" and his 18-year-old daughter.

• The luxury yacht "Bayesian", sailing under the British flag, sank in a storm off the coast of Sicily on Monday night.
• There were 22 people on board - ten crew members and twelve passengers.
• Among the missing are the "British Bill Gates" and his 18-year-old daughter.

It was to be Mike Lynch's "second life". "The question is: what do you do with it?" mused the British tech entrepreneur after his completely surprising acquittal in a fraud trial in the USA. Now Mike Lynch is missing: the 59-year-old was on board the luxury yacht "Bayesian", which sank in a storm off Sicily.

Divers are also searching for his 18-year-old daughter Hannah and four other people, two married couples, at a depth of around 50 meters. 15 passengers were rescued and one body was found, believed to be the cook on board.

Survivors report dramatic scenes. "I couldn't keep my eyes open in the water. I called for help, but all I could hear were the screams of the others," says a New Zealander named Charlotte. She works for a law firm that represented Lynch in the trial. On board with her was her one-year-old daughter: "I held her afloat with all my strength, stretching my arms up so she wouldn't drown."

The British tabloid "Daily Mirror" ran the headline: "Hero mother rescues baby from sea hell." The woman's partner also survived, as did Lynch's wife. There were a total of 22 people on board the "Bayesian", twelve guests and ten employees.

The British ambassador to Italy, Ed Llewellyn, met with survivors. Everything is being done to support them in this "incredibly sad and difficult situation and to help them with contacts with the Italian authorities on a practical level", he says.

Lynch is referred to as the "British Bill Gates" by tabloid media in his home country. He is the co-founder of the software company Autonomy, which was sold to the US group Hewlett Packard in 2011 for eleven billion US dollars (currently 9.94 billion euros). The trial in San Francisco revolved around this deal.

The Autonomy purchase is considered one of the worst takeover debacles in Silicon Valley. Lynch and the former finance manager Steve Chamberlain - who was fatally hit by a car while jogging just a few days before the shipwreck - are alleged to have misled Hewlett-Packard about the financial state of the company. But the jury saw it differently - and surprisingly decided to acquit.

Friends and supporters invited

Lynch apparently wanted to celebrate his trial success on the yacht. He invited friends and supporters to the "Bayesian". According to the BBC, the missing persons are a financial manager who testified on Lynch's behalf, a lawyer and their partners. The head of the specialist insurer Hiscox confirmed that the chairman of the supervisory board, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife were missing.

The ship's name honors the British mathematician Thomas Bayes (1701-1761), whom Lynch had praised in the past. Bayesian inference is regarded as the basis for modern artificial intelligence and computer analysis.

But what began as a party on the luxury yacht off the picturesque coast of Sicily ended dramatically. The huge ship was anchored half a nautical mile off the port of Porticello on Monday night. In the early morning, the north coast of Sicily was hit by a severe storm with strong winds. A so-called water tornado hit the ship. This weather phenomenon creates strong ground vortices. When the waterspout hit the ship, the 75-meter-high mast broke.

It is unclear why the ship was anchored half a nautical mile off the coast in the difficult weather conditions. "We didn't see it coming," the newspaper "La Repubblica" quotes the captain of the "Bayesian". He is also being treated in hospital.

"It all happened very quickly"

According to the authorities, the ship capsized immediately afterwards. Apparently so quickly that not all passengers were able to escape from their cabins on the lower deck. The German captain of a nearby ship, who came to the aid of the survivors and took them on board, described the accident to Italian media: "First the boat tipped on its side and within a few minutes it had sunk. It all happened very quickly."

The "Bayesian" was built in 2008 at the Perini Navi shipyard in Tuscany, as reported by the newspaper "La Repubblica". It was renovated and has been used for luxury cruises since 2020. The ship has a length of 56 meters and is 11 meters wide. The large yacht can accommodate a total of twelve guests in six cabins, including a luxurious master suite.

Difficult search

The search for the missing persons continues unabated. However, it is proving difficult. According to the fire department, the special divers ordered from the Italian mainland were able to penetrate the interior of the wreck and examine some of the rooms below the bridge. However, there are numerous obstacles blocking their way, and the confined space also presents them with difficulties.

The fire department's diving teams consist of two specialized cave divers, who remain at depth for twelve minutes before ascending and constantly alternate with another team. They are currently looking into opening the wreck underwater to gain access. Access to the cabins on the lower deck, where the missing persons are believed to be, is still blocked.

"Due to the time that has passed and the circumstances of the incident, it is of course difficult to imagine that things will turn out for the best. But of course we are not giving up," said Vincenzo Zagarola from the coastguard on Italian radio.

The singer-songwriter rocked a fashion -forward blue wetsuit while soaking in the sun while her  kids  played in the crystal-clear water.

Twin 13-year-old teenagers Moroccan and Monroe — whom the star shares with her ex-husband Nick Cannon — enjoyed some watersports around the yacht.

In addition to the stylish wetsuit, Mariah wore a designer  Fendi  hat and  large sunglasses.

"I think Nick and I have done pretty well in co-parenting, staying friends with each other so that we can talk," she continued.

Though the family has achieved massive fame and success, the former couple wants to ensure that their children remain down-to-earth.

Nick opened up about how he and Mariah are raising Monroe and Moroccan to be humble while speaking with People in 2012.

"I want my kids to understand that every child isn't as fortunate as they are," he said.

Who is Mariah Carey?

Mariah Carey is an extremely successful singer-songwriter who is widely known for her five-octave vocal range.

The 55-year-old musical legend from Huntington, New York , released her debut self-titled album on June 12, 1990.

She has gone on to release 14 more studio albums and has sold millions of records worldwide.

Mariah has explored multiple genres, including pop, R&B, and gospel.

The singing sensation is also widely known for her iconic holiday classic, All I Want for Christmas Is You, from her fourth studio album, Merry Christmas, released on November 1, 1994.

Mariah also told the outlet in 2019, "It's hard, but I try to keep them grounded so they don't think everything is just handed to them."

MARIAH AND NICK'S SPLIT

Mariah and Nick announced their shock split in 2015 after six years of marriage , finalizing their divorce a year later.

Despite their split, the pair have remained friends as they raise their twins.

Though the pair have gone on to date other people, Nick spoke to E! News' Justin Sylvester about the possibility of rekindling their romantic relationship.

In the February 2024 interview — which took place before Valentine's Day — the comedian had an interesting response when Justin asked if the pair would get back together.

"I mean, you gotta ask her! Let me know what she say!" he said.

Drivers issued warning as rare blue supermoon is set to light up UK skies tonight

There can be deadly consequences on the roads if you're not careful during tonight's supermoon.

You've surely heard of the saying 'once in a blue moon', well tonight is the night that the blue moon is going to make an appearance.

This is the rare blue supermoon which occurs when we get a full moon when that chunk of rock orbiting our planet is at the closest point to Earth in its orbit.

This is known as 'perigee', the opposite of 'apogee', and true blue moons are incredibly rare.

The last full supermoon we had was on 23 September last year, so you really don't have a lot of opportunities to see these things.

Hopefully it won't see you standing alone without a dream in your heart or a love of your own, but even more hopefully it won't see you in a car crash.

As ever the advice for witnessing the majesty of the night's sky is to get yourself somewhere with clear skies and a lack of light pollution.

Wrap yourself up warm and bring something to lie down on instead of giving yourself a pain in the neck trying to look at the sky.

However, those of you behind the wheel tonight would do well to heed the warning that the rare blue supermoon brings.

You might think that driving under the moonlight, the serious moonlight would actually be safer than the darker skies that might come with a lack of lunar assistance, but studies into night-time crashes indicate that the roads are more dangerous when the moon looms large in the sky.

A study from the British Medical Journal indicated that crashes on the roads, especially among motorcyclists, go up during a full moon.

A supermoon can be up to 30 percent brighter than a regular moon and that bright light in the night's sky could end up being a fatal distraction for drivers.

A team of experts went through motorcycle fatalities in the US between 4pm and 8am for a 40 year period and found that the full moon was slightly more dangerous, while a supermoon in the sky upped the danger by 22 percent.

Looking at data from other countries, including the UK , shored up this idea that a supermoon can pose a danger to those on the roads.

It could be that the brightness of the moon is distracting, but being aware of the dangers that the supermoon poses on the roads is just part of staying safe.

Here's to an impressive looking supermoon, and hopefully everyone will stay careful on the roads.

Photographers from around the world have been busy capturing a lunar lightshow - the blue supermoon.

A supermoon occurs when a full moon rises during its closest point in its orbit to Earth.

A blue moon is even rarer, happening when there are two full moons within a single calendar month or four full moons within a season.

It happens once every two to three years - that's where the saying "once in a blue moon" comes from.

The dust from wildfires in North America may give the moon a red glow; blue moons aren't actually blue.

During a supermoon, the moon appears up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter compared with when it is furthest away.

After this supermoon, the next will be on 18 September, followed by 17 October and then finishing with a final supermoon on 15 November.
