The impressive metamorphosis of 105m Oceanco luxury yacht H

Known as 105H during its rebuild, the Oceanco 105m superyacht H (formerly known as Neom & Indian Empress), emerged from her shed on Tuesday night after a transformative refit at its construction facilities in the Netherlands, described by the team as the “relaunch of a completely new Oceanco ''.
Showcasing a new sleek, contemporary profile, her hull has also been lengthened by 10 meters, likely to accommodate a beach club , with an additional outdoor swimming pool adding to her allure. She also boasts remodeled interiors courtesy of Reymond Langton Design.
In addition to her aesthetic features, the motor yacht has also received upgrades to her technology systems and is fully compliant with IMO’s stringent Tier III safety standards. Furthermore, Oceanco has added enhanced sustainability features in line with the yachting industry's much-vaunted ambitions, to ensure a more positive impact on the delicate marine environment and the planet as a whole.
Oceanco’s CEO Marcel Onkenhout comments: “To say that this has been a remarkable process is an understatement. The project has called for passion, dedication, and extraordinary craftsmanship, with many involved in her creation now contributing to her recreation, including myself. We are proud to say that we are relaunching a completely new Oceanco.”
To say that this has been a remarkable process is an understatement.
In terms of sustainability considerations for the yachting industry, the impressive rebuild of superyacht H proves that any seaworthy yacht can be transformed and its environmental profile brought up to date to meet the latest technology and safety requirements, not to mention retaining its aesthetic appeal for future buyers.
It is about seeing the potential for all vessels, rather than starting from a blank sheet of paper each time.
The A Group’s Richard Hein, who acted as the independent owner’s representative for the project, adds: “This almost unimaginable transformation has been able to take place thanks to the shared trust, perseverance and expertise of the team involved. A yacht is more than just the materialization of an owner’s vision. It has its own character, its own specific habitat, with a unique purpose and story. Through the achievements of this project we have been able to extend the story of a remarkable superyacht for decades to come. It is about seeing the potential for all vessels, rather than starting from a blank sheet of paper each time.”
Superyacht H will be delivered to her owners at some point in the near future, but at this stage is not expected to be made available for charter .

Oceanco’s 105m M/Y 'H' reimagined
The dutch custom yacht builder delivers a complete transformation of the 105m yacht….
Oceanco has re-launched the 105m motor yacht H as part of an impressive rebuild project at its construction facilities in the Netherlands. 1050H has undergone a complete transformation and is now a fully contemporary vessel.
The impressive results delivered by the famously experimental Dutch custom yacht builder reinforce its reputation for tackling challenging projects and delivering industry firsts. H boasts a modern exterior aesthetic, including a completely new superstructure, alongside a fresh interior by Reymond Langton Design.
The complete reimagining of 1050H demonstrates the potential to give iconic yachts longevity.
Contemporary standards in terms of technology, safety, capability, and sustainability have been adhered to. H has an operational profile that is fully compliant with rigorous IMO Tier III standards, not to mention upgrades to its technological capabilities across the board.
Considering the need to improve sustainable practices within the industry, bringing an existing superyacht’s environmental profile in line with up-to-date standards, rather than churning out new builds, represents a move to more environmentally friendly practices.
“It is a proud moment for me to see the nearing completion of this transformation, having personally been involved in returning 1050H to her birthplace for this ambitious project” added Dr. Barwani, Chairman of Oceanco.
The rebuild benefitted from a year’s reduced timetable for completion thanks to the decrease in time spent on engineering and hull construction.
“It is our ambition that this landmark project will inspire owners of existing yachts to benefit from the gift of time while adding value to their ownership experience as well as the planet. Through this approach, icons have the potential to become the new faces of tomorrow,” comments Oceanco Marketing Director Paris Baloumis.
The graph below indicates an increase in the average LOA of Oceanco's builds in 2022. Historical data shows that in the last eight years, Oceanco delivered the highest number of units in 2018 and the least in 2020 and 2021.

The relaunch of 105m mega yacht ‘H’ , also known as Project 1050H, is one of the most exciting and revolutionary yacht industry projects of recent times. Oceanco , the renowned Dutch shipyard, have reinforced their reputation for taking on ambitious and bold challenges on this unique passion project.

Beginning life in 2000, before the industry was so mindful of the environment impact of yacht building, this huge yacht was selected for a complete transformation. The owner’s vision demanded a rethink of the physical attributes but also compliance with the highest modern standards for technology and sustainability.

What Oceanco have delivered in ‘H’ is remarkable, reducing the construction timetable by at least a year, while still maintaining their luxury pedigree. This timesaving, in itself, reduced the environmental impact of the build and demonstrates the possibilities for future owners. Oceanco Marketing Director Paris Baloumis commented at the launch “It is our ambition that this landmark project will inspire owners of existing yachts to benefit … while adding value to their ownership experience as well as the planet.”

Now complete, ‘H’ also boasts a refreshed interior by Reymond Langton Design and a few especially exciting elements including an exclusive owners’ deck, guest accommodation for up to 32 in 16 cabins, elevator, on deck dance floor, full spa and beauty salon and last but not least a piano originally belonging to Elton John.
Let’s hope we see this amazing project up close in one of the world’s exclusive marinas soon.

By Heather Collier
After being unveiled to the industry over two weeks, ago Oceanco's 'H' has now officially touched the water for the first time during her launch in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
H was transported to Rotterdam ahead of her launch in the early hours of yesterday morning. Following her launch, she will be transported back to Alblasserdam and returned to the build shed for outfitting.
Oceanco 's 105-metre H has undergone a major refit in recent years, " a complete transformation that is practically unprecedented in its scale and nature ," says the shipyard.
She has also been brought up to new standards in technology, safety and sustainability. Paris Baloumis, Oceanco's Marketing Director, previously commented: “ It is our ambition that this landmark project will inspire owners of existing yachts to benefit from the gift of time while adding value to their ownership experience as well as the planet. Through this approach, icons have the potential to become the fresh new faces of tomorrow ."
In terms of style, H boasts a refreshed, modern interior by Reymond Langton Design. Exciting features include an exclusive Owners’ deck, guest accommodation which can host up to 32 guests in 16 cabins, an elevator, an on-deck dance floor, a full spa and beauty salon. However, the most striking element is perhaps the grand piano originally owned by musician Elton John, taking pride of place by the stunning bar area.
In terms of future projects, Oceanco currently has four other vessels under construction, including the highly secretive 127-metre Y721.

105m Oceanco superyacht H spotted on transport following rebuild
The 105-metre (344-foot) superyacht H has been spotted on transport from Oceanco after completing a full-scale rebuild at her home shipyard earlier this month.
The yacht, still known officially by its project name 1050H, was moved through Rotterdam by tug and will begin sea trials once outfitting is complete.
Key changes to the yacht include a brand-new superstructure and a totally new interior by Reymond Langton . She has also been brought up to new standards in technology, safety, capability, utility, and sustainability, according to the yard.
A spokesperson for Oceanco commented, “The yachting world has seen commercial vessels converted into superyachts, and heritage yachts being returned to their original glory, but this is the first time a superyacht has been recreated to face the future as a wholly new, contemporary vessel.”
The shipyard has previously said it hoped to inspire other owners to consider a similar undertaking. The rebuild has allowed the owner to bypass long wait periods for delivery slots and reduce the overall construction time of the vessel by around a year, as the engineering and hull construction were already complete.
Paris Baloumis, Oceanco's marketing director, said, “It is our ambition that this landmark project will inspire owners of existing yachts to benefit from the gift of time while adding value to their ownership experience as well as the planet. Through this approach, icons have the potential to become the fresh new faces of tomorrow.”

Oceanco’s 344' (105m) Project H Filmed by David Seal of YouTube’s Renowned Yachts for Sale Channel
Posted June 28, 2023 in Brokerage & New Build by Janine St.Denis
Northrop & Johnson’s video team is currently producing a video walkthrough of Oceanco’s rebuild Project H. The team led by David Seal, founder of the YouTube Yachts for Sale channel and Head of Video Production for N&J, was invited to witness the 344’ revolutionary yacht, which was one of the best-kept secrets in yachting. She was recently unveiled to the world at a spectacular launch ceremony.
This magnificent yacht is one of the most outstanding examples of “upcycling” the world has ever seen. Oceanco lengthened her by 10 meters, from 95m to 105m. Her superstructure was completely rebuilt, her engines were removed and replaced with eco-friendly options, and every aspect of Project H was transformed to create a modern, efficient yacht with remarkable craftsmanship, elegance and speed.
At 105 meters, she is one of the largest yachts in the world, certainly holding court in the top five percent. Still, it’s not just her size that draws attention; she also offers an exquisite design that shows such elegance and restraint, such an awareness of proportions and perspective.
“To say that this has been a remarkable process is an understatement,” says Oceanco’s CEO Marcel Onkenhout. “The project has called for passion, dedication, and extraordinary craftsmanship, with many involved in her creation now contributing to her recreation, including myself. We are proud to say that we are relaunching a completely new Oceanco.”
N&J’s in-house video team is hard at work putting together what is sure to be one of the most exciting and inspiring videos produced and showcased on the Yachts for Sale channel. The official launch date of the video is set for July 8, 2023, at 9 am CET. Kudos to the incredible teams at Oceanco, The A group and Reymond Langton Design for their new marvel, Project H, and to David Seal and the N&J video team for what is sure to be their next great masterpiece of cinematography.
“The opportunity to film Oceanco’s ‘Project H’ is an absolute honor for the Northrop & Johnson video team and me. Not only is this the largest yacht that we have ever covered, but she is also the product of one of the world’s greatest yacht builders, demonstrating their ability to upcycle a superyacht on a scale never before attempted,” comments N&J Head of Video Production and Yachts for Sale YouTube influencer David Seal. “What an amazing story to feature on the Yachts For Sale YouTube channel.”
