VisionF Launches Flagship Power Catamaran

VisionF Yachts in Turkey has launched its 78-foot flagship, all-aluminum power catamaran dubbed the Vision F82.

In addition to the powercat’s 78-foot-7-inch length overall, the Vision F82 is notable for its nearly 32-foot beam, which helps create wide-open entertainment spaces like the 581-square-foot salon. The builder says there is an option to have the galley adjacent to the salon. Additionally, the yacht’s size allows for a three-stateroom layout with the owner’s stateroom found in the starboard hull, complete with closets and en suite head with shower and his-and-hers sinks. There’s also room for two crew cabins for four people.

Outside spaces also benefit from the yacht’s LOA and beam, including foredeck with sun pad, a sunken lounge with a sofa and a table (shaded by the flybridge overhang). There is also room for a Williams jet tender and a Sea Doo water scooter, which, according to VisionF, can be launched and retrieved via a dedicated crane. The aft deck is set up with a sofa, four chairs, a dining table and another sun pad nearby. This area offers seamless access to the swim platform.

Spanning nearly full beam, the flybridge has a two-seat helm forward and to port. The space is flexible and can be arranged with loose furniture for lounging and catching rays. According to VisionF, “to enhance privacy when docked stern-to in the marina, a screen is positioned between the two support pillars at the back.”

From a performance perspective, the Vision F82 is powered with twin Volvo Penta 1050 IPS diesels paired to pod drives, which reportedly provide a top hop of 16 knots and a 1,600-nautical-mile range. The builder says its “eco package” option uses batteries to help the yacht’s hotel loads run sans a generator for up to 20 hours. “ We provide clients with a yachting experience that is ecologically responsible,” said Ali Tanir, general manager at VisionF Yachts.

Hull No. 1 of the Vision F82 was built on spec and is set up for the American market, while hull No. 2 is going to a European owner. Hull Nos. 3 and 4 are on track for a March and May 2024 completion, respectively, and are available to be customized for interested owners.

Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2024: A Vision for Sustainable Yachting

From July 1 to 6, 2024, the waters of Monaco will host the 10th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, a unique motor boating event dedicated to sustainable innovation through alternative energies. Organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco in collaboration with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, this event blends sporting competition with environmental advocacy.

In response to critical environmental and technological challenges, the Yacht Club de Monaco promotes a new vision of yachting through this one-of-a-kind event. Under the leadership of President HSH Prince Albert II, the Yacht Club serves as an incubator for yachting R&D, driving the development of clean energy propulsion methods. This event seeks to inspire the engineers of tomorrow and the yachting industry to embrace sustainable practices.

First organized in 2014, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is an international event that is open to the public, attracting students and professionals from around the world. Competitors race in three classes:

Energy Class: Introduced in 2018 by the YCM, this class challenges students to design the most powerful and durable cockpit and propulsion system using renewable energy sources, from a limited energy supply (max. 10 kWh stored on board).

Solar Class: Since the event's inception in 2014, Solar Class boats have competed in match racing, slalom, and endurance races, all powered by solar energy.

Open Sea Class: Primarily for exhibitors from the YCM Marina and market-ready boats, this class includes an endurance race from Monaco to Ventimiglia, Italy, testing the capabilities of green-energy propulsion systems.

The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge brings together young engineers from global schools and universities, connecting them with key players in the yachting industry. The goal is to stimulate creativity and develop eco-friendly propulsion systems, fostering collaboration between future engineers and industry leaders.

The 2024 edition will feature the 2nd YCM E-Boat Rally, showcasing electric boats currently available on the market. This event offers the public a glimpse into the future of yachting, with a 21 nautical mile journey from Monaco to Cala del Forte in Ventimiglia, where participants can recharge their boats and display them to Italian spectators.

Located at YCM’s marina, SeaLab showcases cutting-edge projects, prototypes, and demonstrators, including boats not yet certified for the Open Sea class by the EU. Each exhibition includes interactive presentations and information panels, offering insights into the technology, design principles, and vision behind each project. Experts are often available to discuss the technical aspects and development challenges of these innovative boats.

A visit to SeaLab is a journey to the forefront of marine technology, celebrating the passion, dedication, and innovation driving the future of sustainable yachting. Visitors will witness various teams utilizing renewable energies and propulsion systems to create boats with impressive ranges and top speeds, leaving a lasting impression on all who attend.

No one is having a more luxurious start to summer 2024 than Gwyneth Paltrow , and no one else should be surprised. After landing in Capri, Italy, and taking in French designer Jacquemus's fifteenth anniversary fashion show on June 11, the Goop founder extended her stay to go sailing on a mega-yacht. Her plans weren't relatable, but surprisingly, her choice in summer outfit was. (Save the rare Hermès Clemence bag tied crossbody over her top, anyway.)

Paltrow hit the high seas in the definition of universal vacation essentials: her best linen pants , black fisherman sandals, and a striped sweater tied over her shoulders like a nautical, quiet luxury cape. While credits for her exact seaside outfit weren't available at press time, they all overlapped with the pieces fashion editors love most for summer—and at price points beyond Paltrow-level luxury.

She's as likely to wear a dress from her in-house clothing line, G. Label by Goop, as she is to stack designers like Miu Miu and Saint Laurent one on top of the other.

The 59.99m/196'10" motor yacht 'Vision' (ex. Lyana) was built by Benetti in Italy at their Livorno shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Pierre-Yves Rochon and she was delivered to her owner in July 2011. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Stefano Natucci and she was last refitted in 2014.

Guest Accommodation

Vision has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising one VIP cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 15 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Onboard Comfort & Entertainment

Her features include satellite communications, gym, deck jacuzzi, WiFi and air conditioning.

Range & Performance

Vision is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M60) 12-cylinder 1,770hp engines running at 1800rpm, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles from her 130,000 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board promises exceptional comfort levels at anchor or on any voyage. Her water tanks store around 20,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) ✠A1, Yachting Service, ✠AMS classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.
